Cash Cab by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time: 6p ET/5p CT on Discovery
Host: Ben Bailey

Ben picks up Scott Peterson (not the criminal) and his friend Brad, as they head to 21st and Sixth. They get the $25 tier for $100 and the $50 tier for $200 more, ending up near the Flatirons Building for $400... IF they walk right now. They're going for the video: during WWII, what fabric replaced Asian silk as the main material used to manufacture parachutes?  They go with nylon... Nylon is correct for $800!

Next up, we're going to 77th and CPW with a player who's on TV with the crunk in his mouth. We don't know his name, so we'll just call him Crunk. Yay, Crunk. He gets his first strike on what a dirigible is. He says "an aircraft that doesn't fly." Boo, Crunk. Correct: blimp. Second strike: "What type of bed folds out of a wall?" Correct: Murphy bed. Crunk's answer: day bed. He uses his Street Shout Out in Central Park West on this: What Panamanian leader was overthrown by Operation Just Cause in 1989? He says Noriega... Right! Nearly avoided a strike. But only for so long... Colonists who sided with the British were called what? Crunk: "Federalists."... Bye Crunk. Correct answer, Loyalists. Also jerks, geeks, and nimrods.

Spring between Mulberry & Mott is the place, and Michael & Andrea are the players. On the way to Little Italy, are we? They get $200 at their first Red Light; time for a Red Light Challenge: five of the last seven primetime shows to win an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. They get "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Friends", "Frasier"... that's it. They missed "Arrested Development", "Sex & The City", "Will & Grace", and "Ally McBeal". they first strike comes at $100: what publicly traded mortgage company was chartered by the US Congress in 1970? They forego the Mobile Shout and guess on "Fannie Mae". Wrong. Correct: Freddie Mac. NOW they go to the Mobile Shout Out on this: meaning "lightning war", what surprise air tactic did the Germans use in WWII? Quoth Julian, Michael's father, "Blitzkrieg." Right for $400! Now it's time for the Street Shout in Little Italy: "You know what the national airline of Russia is?" The girl with a cell phone: "Aer Lingus? I have no idea!" they go with ... Stoli Air. That's SO not right. Correct: Aeroflot. Doesn't matter, as they arrive in Little Italy with $400 and the win. But will they risk the winnings? YES! The Video Bonus: also used for TV remote controls, what type of radiation technology is used to create these thermal images? They go with infrared... Correct for $800!

Don't forget to tip your game show host.

Second trip in the Cash Cab begins with a group, led by Paul, going to 23rd & Seventh. First strike: in what European country can you find The Hague, home of the International Court of Justice? They go with Belgium. Correct: The Netherlands. They make up for it by getting $225 and triggering a Red Light Challenge: name five musicians who have been part of the Rolling Stones. They get Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts... Ron Wood! That's $250 for $475! They use the Mobile Shoutout for this $50 question: artist Henry Jones is known for what art form? "Sculpture? Okay"... Correct! Time for a street Shoutout with this: "Who wrote 'The Naked and the Dead'?" They go with Norman Mailer, but don't know... That is correct! And they arrive at the destination with $925! Will Paul and his posse pass up the prize for double? They go for it! The Video Bonus: what Chinese-American architect designed a glass-pyramid entrance to the Louvre? They go with IM Pei... IS right! That's $1850!

Let's go right into the next game with Emily, going to 8th & A. Short ride coming, as Emily sweeps the $25 tier. Emily uses her street shout at a $50 question at the West End: what office building did security guard Frank Wills uncover a break-in in 1972? He'd go with the Watergate Hotel... and that's right! She gets a strike... doesn't matter, as she gets $250. Will Emily risk it? Nope.

Finally, we pickup David & Steve, on their way to 72nd & Central Park West. They use their mobile shoutout on a $25 question: the Tropic of Cancer lies north of the Equator; what tropic lies south? They go with Capricorn. That's right. They sweep the $25 and $50 tiers for $275. They strike on the first $100 question identifying what is measured by the Saffir-Simpson scale. "The hardness of precious stones." Try the hardness of hurricanes, more specifically, hurricane wind speeds. Time for the street shoutouts: WWII general Erwin Rommel was known by what sly nickname? The shoutouts.... don't know. The answer is... "the desert fox." That's two. "What building material is made from sandy clay and straw?  They go with concrete... Should've gone with adobe bricks. That's three... and you're out of the Cash Cab... with no cash.

Air time:  Check listings or familyfeud.com
Host: Richard Karn
Smith (Tara, Rebekah, Patti, Jason, Jared)
Messenger (Brandi, Benita, Jonathan, Laura, Jennifer); $41,255, four days

We're back on schedule (as much as we can be, at least) with the Messengers going for five. Round 1: something you "borrowed" from a hotel room (7). Brandi fires with towels, #1. Robes, ashtray, pillows, and shampoo make the board, but can the challengers steal with pens? No! Messengers get 60. Other answers: soap, glasses/dishes.

Round 2: something neighbors fight over (7). Benita gets #4, the lawn. Rebekah gets #5, pets. Jonathan gets #2, noise, but Laura gets car parking, #1! Kids, property line, and ... what else? The Smiths are hoping for trash. No! The Messengers are up to 158! Other answer: trees.

Double Round: a saying that includes the word "devil" (full board). Patti gets #2, the devil's advocate. Jason gets Jared gets #6, deviled eggs. Tara gets #4, little devil, but number one goes to Rebekah with "The devil made me do it!" The Messengers try to steal with "devil in a blue dress." Loved the movie... the survey did too for 258. Other answer: devil may care.

Triple Round: when a man breaks a woman's heart, something of his she'd like to break (4). His body is good for #1, as Jason wins the showdown. Pride, windshield, and HIS heart sweep it for 285! Time to go to...

Sudden Death: what's something a young couple argue about during their first year of marriage? That's Jennifer... "Money." That's good for the win, 483-285.

One more try at Fast Money with Benita and Jonathan... Benita gets #1 for "a game you play in kindergarten" (hopscotch), "something that starts with corn" (corn dog), and "something at a circus that a 3-year-old might be afraid of" (clowns) for 122. Jonathan follows with top answers for "an occupation where a person's body is better than his brain" (bodybuilder) and "how much it costs to fill your gas tank" ($30). It all comes down to 3 points... He's got the three for a five-time total of $61,255!

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Elaine Henderson (children's encyclopedia editor from New Milford, CT); $8700
Rich Way (manager from Aromas, CA)
Bryn Upton (college professor from Westminster, MD)

Lofty expectations from a professor and a guy named "Rich". Elaine, wearing her hair up today, starts with $200 TV Theme Song Endings. At the TV time out, it's a two-person race between Bryn at $2400 and Elaine at $2800. Rich is stuck on pause at -$200... Actually, he'd be stuck in rewind then...

Deep deep DEEP into the round, and Rich finds the Daily Double under $800 Signs & Symbols. Rallying back with $4200, he wagers $1000 on one of the 2 back-to-back zodiac signs whose standard symbols usually include an arrow point. "What is Sagittarius?" Right for $5200. Scorpio is the other. He'll end with that to Elaine's $3800. Because of a cock-up on Bryn's part, he has third with $3600 and, as a result, will start Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Actors' Alma Maters. Rich finds the first Daily Double under $1200 For the Birds. In a close second with $5600, he bets that lead, $600. The Athene genus of this bird contains 4 species. "What are swans?" Nope, the owl, giving him $5000. Bryn takes the lead at $10,000 as we go to Men of Religion for $1200, the second Daily Double. "Um... $200. It's not my category." All he has to do is name the river linking the Great Lakes & the Atlantic Ocean that shares its name with a saint martyred in 258. "Who is St. Lawrence?" That's right for $10,200. That's where he'll end as Rich definitely is with $16,200. Elaine, meanwhile, has $6600.

Final Jeopardy! in "19th Century Lit": this work says "Man is not truly one, but truly two... I leaned to recognize the... primitive duality of man". Correct question: What is "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde"?

Bryn is right for $14,200... but he held back... Rich didn't, as he wins $20,401. Elaine, who said "The Origin of the Species", leaves with $9700.

The Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday dear Bob... Happy birthday to you! Let's see what presents we can give out today.

First up, Dorothy Zess, Nicole Barnett, Hunter Goodson (no relation to the late producer) and Shannon Zwilling betting on a trip to Palm Springs. Hunter wins it, but it has a layover at Barker's Bargain Bar. The newly-eligible Hunter now has to hunt for the bargain amongst a bar set marked $2210 or a recumbent bike marked $1499. He goes with the exercycle... and it's good with a bargain of $1000!

Dorothy gets to visit Bob after winning a butcher block table. Now we have the Check Game for an LCD HDTV. Does she knows how to play this game? "Bob, I know how to write a check." That's... about as close as we're going to get, because with a check for $2000 and the TV at $2499, it's not enough to get to $5000.

Shannon wins a kayak in round 3 and a chance at a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt! All she has to do is spell "car" in Spelling Bee. Two freebies, but she has to be pennywise about a jump-start system, a mini-fridge, and a copy of the "Worst Case Scenario" game. She's dead on with the jumper at $30, so we have our five cards. She doesn't let up. C.. No deal. A... No deal. C again... No deal... A again... No deal. R! Yes that was a cheap plug, you like it? Anyway, Shannon has a car, but Hunter has a spot in the Showcase.

(C-Note: Due to technical difficulties, Gaby and a few cards from Punch-a-Bunch had to function as the eggcrate display. I'll kindly ask Travis to correct me on this.)

Jodie Clark takes a cool team dual trike, but can she take a bedroom with sleep set? She can if she knows the difference between Hi and Lo. The products: Clorox bleach, General Foods International French Vanilla Coffee, Os-Cal Ultra, Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup, Alka-Seltzer Plus, and Jelly Belly jelly beans. She goes for the jelly beans, Alka-Seltzer, and Os-Cal, the lowest being the $5.20 for the Alka-Seltzer. The bleach is $1.79. The soup is $1.02. The coffee... is $3.59! That's a win!

Aryan Guenthner wins himself a printer, cameras, and paper. Good for pictures, but better for motion shots in your 2006 Ford Escape! The game is Card Game and the window is $3000. He draws the ace of diamonds and bids $20,000. Actual retail price: $20,345! That's a win!

Finally, Brenda Koetsier wins a bubble chair, but she'd rather sit at a baby grand. She will if she wins Side by Side. Is the price $7192 or $9271? She goes right... And she's right! Perfect second half ends with her heading to the Showcase, too!

First up in the Showcase: things that scare the bejeezus out of our models. Rebecca has an absolute panic attack when she thinks she forgets her cell phone. Gabrielle escapes loneliness by going to New York. And Rebecca hates to be without a mirror, such as the one in a 2006 Ford Five Hundred. Top winner Brenda doesn't fear this Showcase... or maybe she fears Hunter, so she passes. Hunter bids $26,000. Brenda ends up casting movies with a washer/dryer, a wine barrel jukebox, and a 2006 Ford Mustang Convertible! Brenda bids $28,000. Actual price: $35,354, a $7354 difference. Actual price of Hunter's Showcase: 27,963! Happy birthday to Hunter to the tune of $36,062!

Stats: 5/6, $92,612.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Celeste Brantolino (Cranston, RI) has had a week to wait after getting to $200 with no trouble. Today, she's back to continue her climb up the Millionaire ladder.

Celeste once lived on a farm near the hay capital, Meckling, South Dakota, which had a population of 98 people. There, as a kid, she wanted to be a game show host. And now, she's here as a contestant, ready to win. The game resumes, and Celeste completes the lower tier, then as she progresses through the middle tier, she comes up to this $8,000 question...

What popular rap song begins with the remark "Oh my god, Becky, look at her butt. It is so big"?
A: Bust a Move
B: Baby Got Back
C: Ice Ice Baby
D: U Can't Touch This

Celeste asks the audience. 86% of the studio audience and 85% of the AIM users pick B, so she trusts them... and they're right! Next up, $16,000...

What magazine, which published its thousandth issue in 2005, has run over 100,000 jokes in its 83-year history?
A: Ladies' Home Journal
B: Family Circle
C: The New Yorker
D: Reader's Digest

The 50:50 leaves B and D. With that, Celeste goes with D... and she's right! On to $25,000...

Which of these chemical compounds consists of more than two different elements?
A: Sucrose
B: Cyanide
C: Ammonia
D: Hydrogen peroxide

Celeste thinks it's not A, because she thinks it's 1 element. After mentioning that, she calls her husband, Joe, and after telling him that she thinks it could be B or C, he says that he thinks it's B. With that, Celeste goes with B... but she's wrong! It's actually A, which actually has 3 elements (Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen)! Ouch. Well, at least she gets $1,000 for her efforts.

Next up is Ron Kahn (Brooklyn, NY). He's a computer consultant, but he used to be a salesman. And back then, he had the pitch line, "You won't get conned by Kahn." Apparently, he stuck to that too well, as he ended up without the "killer instinct" that a salesman should have. Now, we'll see if he has enough of a "killer instinct" to go far. Ron starts by knowing that in a classic fairy tale, Cinderella must get home by midnight before her carriage turns into a pumpkin. He gets through most of the lower tier, before facing this for $1,000...

Which of these pairs of words can be used as verbs that mean the same thing?
A: Chairs and shades
B: Beds and mirrors
C: Shelves and tables
D: Drapes and couches

Ron decides to ask the audience, and 79% of the studio audience says C, while 59% of the AIM users agree. Ron goes with C... and he has $1,000! Now, for $2,000...

Proposed in 2003, the so-called "Arnold Amendment" would allow foreign-born Americans to do what?
A: Vote in foreign elections
B: Run for President
C: Serve in the military
D: Receive tax breaks

Ron uses the 50:50, which leaves A and B. He then decides to say B... and he's right! Going for $4,000, now...

What TV series features a beloved dog named Santa's Little Helper?
A: Two and a Half Men
B: The Simpsons
C: Malcolm in the Middle
D: Will & Grace

It turns out that Ron hasn't had much time to watch TV lately. So, he calls his twin brother, Mark, but he's not very sure, though it sounded like he was leaning towards A or C. This isn't enough for Ron, so he decides to walk. After he finds out that it was B, he heads home with $2,000.

There's not much time left, so Jen Vine (North Stonington, CT) gets right into it. She starts by knowing that the children's song featuring the well-known line "And you shake it all about" is the Hokey Pokey (maybe there's a good reason why I hadn't heard of The Little Martini Boy before). She then gets to $200.

And there's the horn. Jen will be back tomorrow.
