Cash Cab by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time: 6p ET/5p CT on Discovery
Host: Ben Bailey
First in the Cab tonight: four people: Jill, Ariel, Noah, and Tom. Destination: CPW and 66th. This oughta be interesting, because they have a staggering 64 blocks to go. They get their first strike when they have to identify what position Joseph Ratzinger took in 2005 (pope). Four of the five $25 questions means $100. They sweep the $50 tier and get 7 in the $100 tier, but they have to use the cell phone shoutout on this: According to Forbes, what Mercier Hathaway CEO is send to Bill Gates in personal wealth? Jill says... nothing. It was Warren Buffett, but they end up with $1050. The guys want to go for it, but mom Jill says no. So they leave with $1050.

Next in the Cab: Beth. Destination: Bond & Barry. She gets her first strike on the number of original flavors of Baskin-Robbins (31). Beth uses her mobile shoutout to call her husband. Question: in what Shakespeare play is the line "To be or not to be?" (Hamlet). That's right for $50. She uses her street shoutout in Greenwich Village to figure out what Ron Howard film is also the name of a silkworm's casing. They get "Cocoon". She gets her second strike on a cat powered by a human runner that is common in Calcutta (a rickshaw). She strikes out on the instrument developed in Hawaii in the 1880s (ukulele). Aloha, Beth...

Finally: Spark. Destination: Gershwin Hotel. Spark lights a fire in the $25 question, getting all five. He's got $275 going into the Red Light Challenge: during their heyday, the Beatles starred in five feature films. Name them. He gets "Hard Day's Night", "Help!", "Yellow Submarine," and "Let It Be", but forgets "Magical Mystery Tour." No harm, no foul. And he sweeps his $50 questions. Spark gets five $100 queries for a total of $875, which he can keep or risk on one final Video Bonus. "I'm a double-or-nothing kind of guy!" The question: in 1961, who became the first American to break out of the Earth's atmosphere and travel to space?" He says "retired Senator John Glenn."... Wrong. It was Alan Shepard. So he's got nothing, but he lives in a great city with a great job. He'll be fine.

As we ride out, we learn that some contestants have been pre-screened beforehand. Interesting. Let's take another ride, shall we? First up: a girl band startled speechless by the lights. Amanda (guitar), Deirdre (keys), Roxie (bass), and Leeann (vocals) are headed between Greenwich & Washington. They use their phone shoutout on the first question: What medieval code of knighthood is associated with virtue, honor, and courtly love. No, Amanda, not Courtney Love, COURTLY love. Amanda calls her husband. They get chivalry - and the next four - for $25, ending up with $225 for a short cab ride. Will they risk it for the Video Bonus? They're going for it! Question: At a whopping 726 feet tall, this feat of engineer was named for what former US president? They go with "J. Edgar Hoover". Which would be right, BUT... another case of TMI. If they just said Hoover, they'd get the money, but it was Herbert Hoover. So the band gets the hook, but at least they're at the destination.

Next: Josh. Destination: Plaza Hotel for a walk in the park. He strikes first with what NAFTA stands for (North American Free Trade Agreement). Four out of five for $100. He's got $250 for the Red Light Challenge: name the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. He gets US, England, France... but misses China and Russia. But a good effort. He ends up with $300, but will he risk it on a video? Nope, Josh walks with $350.

Night in NYC, and we pick up journalists from Ireland. Destination: East 43rd, between Second and Third. They... decide to wait for another cab.

Final contestants: Kendra & Dean. Going to: 20th and Eighth. They sweep the $25 tier. They get their first strike on $50: Axle, Lutz, and Camel, are not a law firm, but three maneuvers in what sport? They say rugby, but it's figure skating. $225 going into the Red Light Challenge: five of the six feature-length computer-animated films released by Pixar. They get "Toy Story", "Monsters Inc."... and miss "Toy Story 2", "A Bug's Life", "Finding Nemo", and "The Incredibles." They get $325 and their second strike on this: what oath taken by doctors lays out the ethical guidelines of their profession (the Hippocratic Oath). But they have $325, but will they risk it? Nah. They're happy.

Family Feud by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or familyfeud.com
Host: Richard Karn
Shepard (Angela, Stephanie, Lisette, Suzie, Blaine); four days
Messenger (Brandi, Benita, Jonathan, Laura, Jennifer)

A sister who's a best friend. That would count for a Feud team. The other way round wouldn't. Round 1: something people say is good for the soul (6). Angela gets music for 5. Brandi's chicken soup gets control at 2. Prayer is number one courtesy of Laura. Smiling is also good for the soul. The Shepards steal honesty (heh) for 71. Other answer: friendship.

Round 2: something interviewers always ask Paris Hilton about (6)? No answers for the face-off, so we go to Jonathan with sex tape... good for 2. Lisette goes with love life... number one! Careers, finances, and that's it for the champs. Fashion is the Messengers' choice for steal... Not there, giving the Shepards 146. Other answer: body/surgeries, her age.

Double Round: 100 men, one household duty you just refuse to perform (5). The dishes are top money for Lisette. Bathroom, laundry, and floors build the bank, but what else? Cooking? The Messengers hope so. Not there! The Shepards have 284. Other answer: take out garbage.

Triple Round: an occupation where a person carries some sort of bag on the job (4). A postman is good for #1 for Laura. They also get lawyer, but that's it. One last chance for the Shepards with accountant... Not there! The Messengers get 177. Other answers: salesperson, doctor (said!), going to...

Sudden Death: besides Arkansas, a state that begins with "A". That's Jennifer... "Alabama"... Got it! Messengers come from behind to win, 369-284.

Mother and son Benita & Jonathan take the Fast Money board to six, winning the $20,000.

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Vicky Stanton (school psychologist orig. from Scotland, now living in Sherman Oaks, CA); $7999
Charles Bagot (poker player & dog walker from Chicago)
Marianna Johnson (trademark consultant orig. from Marietta, OK)

Vicky backed into a championship title yesterday. Let's see what she can do with it, although we have a sentimental favorite in Charles here. Vicky starts with $200 Biblical Zoo. Marianna finds the Daily Double early under $1000 The University Of... She bets $1000 of her $2400 on the university whose library holds the Constitution of the CSA and the Margaret Mitchell papers. "What is the University of Georgia?" Right for $3400!

After a bit of time in the red, Charles has $1200 on the plus side, but still third place to Marianna's $4400 and Vicky's $6400 as we go to Double Jeopardy!...

... with Charles starting at $400 Ends in an F Sound, as Vicky finds the first Daily Double under $1600. Now in the lead, she only gets $1200 on the clear watery fluid that removes bacteria from the tissues. "Gonna kick myself, no." It was lymph, but Vicky still has $6400 and the lead. She rallies back against the board, finding the second Daily Double under $1200 Going Dutch. She bets $4200 this time on this: in 1677 this Dutchman described microscopic bodies as "little animals". "Van Mite.. I don't know." Anton van Leeuwenhoek, leaving her to $10,600. But she makes enough to take this game theoretically with $13,400. And by that I mean that Charles at $4000 and Marianna at $1200 are so rubbish in that last round that it doesn't really matter at this point.

If you're in the 808, "Jeopardy!"'s a-coming! Register at jeopardy.com, and you could be saying Aloha to Alex in person.

Final Jeopardy! in "Names of the 1930s": a famous 1936 speech by this man began, "At long last, I am able to say a few words of my own." Correct question: Who was King Edward VIII?

In a reprise of yesterday's show, no one is right. But she wins another $11,800 for a two-day total of $19,799.

The Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
Ashley Smith, Linda Ard, Lorenzo Terzo, Bruna Balaka, and a grandfather clock start this show, as... did they just say "Boo-ya-kah"? Bruna gets the clock, as the Toronto native gets a chance to take four roaster ovens to a Swap Meet, where she can walk away with the ovens, a computer, a home gym, and a pair of acoustics. She goes with the guitars, valued $600. The ovens... also $600!

Jerrice Elliott of Yakima, WA takes her spot, and gets out of it with a Tee & Cue table, as she goes for two off-roaders playing the Range Game. She stops it short of $5020. Actual price: $5134, well within the $150 range limit!

Ashley, whose mother was a contestant on TPIR in '85, gets out in round 3 as she wins a pendulum swing, but can she pull a Switcheroo for a 2006 Pontiac Vibe, a shaver, a food chopper, an electronic chess game, and an espresso maker? She gets two right in the first go-round... and only one in the second. The real kicker: one of the two she had right to start off with was the car! The other, the chopper, she gets to keep at $18. No more money this half, but Bruna gets a spot in the Showcase.

Third-round entry Joseph Sicard III of the Marine group chanting at the beginning of the show gets out in round 4 thanks to a collection of flowboards, six to be exact. Now it's onto Make Your Move. The prizes: a cookie press, a sofa, and an HDTV. The lineup: 3 4 9 9 9 1 3 2 5. Joseph thinks the cookie press is $25, the sofa is $913, and the HDTV is $3499... and he's right!

Nicole Pazur gets to visit Bob in round 5 with a fireplace screen and $500 for a perfect bid. Let's see if she can parlay that into a 2006 Chevy Cobalt playing Pass the Buck. First pair: Glad Forceflex bags at $3.49 and Banquet Dessert Bakes at $3.79. She passes right... Should've passed left. Next pair: Tums Smooth Dissolve at $3.99 and Campbell's Cream of Mushroom at $1.02. She passes left... right on. Didn't need that pick, really, because she gets the car on the first snatch!

Finally, Concepcion Guerrero sends Linda and Lorenzo to the showers with a pair of night-vision binoculars, but can't convert into luggage and a trip to Sequoia National Park. She sets her Magic # at 699. The trip was $2374. The luggage for said trip... $1050. And that's all she wrote for her, as Nicole joins Bruna in the Showcase.

And upon further analysis, they were chanting "USA! USA! USA!"

First in the Showcase, a trip to the TPIR Coffeehouse, where we order up 2 GPS receivers, a hot tub, and a Hi-Lo travel trailer. Top winner Nicole passes to Bruna, who bids $19,825. Meanwhile, Nicole gets sleepwear, a bedroom with sleep set, and an ATV. She prices at $17,500. .... Let's go to Bruna first, whose price is $22,686, a difference of $2861. Now to Nicole, whose price is... $17,... 508! Hot damn... With only an eight dollar difference, Nicole takes BOTH SHOWCASES! In total, she's taking home $58,904!

Trato Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN

Air time:  Noon ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca
Martha gives Guillermo a wallet. Guillermo gives Martha the cowgirl $100 and a chance to win a car worth $14,920! That sounds like a nice deal to me. In order to win the car, Martha has to line up the following from cheapest to most expensive. The products are Roundup, Cascade, Pine-Sol and Oxi Magic. Martha's order is Pine-Sol, Roundup, Cascade and Oxi Magic. How many does she have right? NONE OF THEM! However, Guillermo will give her another chance. Martha's new order - Cascade, Pine Sol, Oxi Magic, Roundup - which is also wrong. The right order is Roundup, Pine Sol, Oxi Magic, Cascade. No car for Martha, but she does win $100.

It's a Super Pollo! Samuel the Super Pollo will have to guess which churro is longer. He goes for #2, and if he's right, he gets $500. Guillermo offers him $250 to bail out, but he wants to go for it...and he's wrong. Churro #1 was the longer one, and Samuel only gets $100 as a consolation prize.

Mercedes and Mario the tourists are the next to have a deal with Guillermo. The deal is this - they can keep a mini windmill sculpture (and what's attached to it) or they can go for the Box. Mario decides to go for the box, and attached to the Sculpture was....some salt and a Chasco. Behind the box is a scooter worth $799. Now it's Mercedes' turn to play. She can keep the Scooter or trade it for the small box. She gets rid of the scooter and the couple now has a pair of XM radios worth $760. There's time for one more deal, and the couple can work together. Do they want to trade off the radios for Curtain #3? Yes they do, and they get a Trip to Las Vegas and a $600 certificate for gas - and a collection or Mattel Toys. This whole package is worth $1,809!

But is it coming right back for the Gran Trato? Yes it is, as the couple trades. Samuel also gives up his $100 for a shot at over $5,000. The couple picks door #2 while Samuel gets Door #1. We first see Door... #3, which had $800. The next door opened is...Samuel's, and he gets a trip to Scottsdale Arizona. That, with a $600 certificate for Gas and some digital cameras, is worth $2,149. The couple, however, get the Gran Trato, which is a new kitchen, complete with cookware, dinette set, stove, and a $350 Lobstergram worth a total of $5,344! That's a very nice finish for the show. Tune in to see if we can continue the love tomorrow.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Yesterday, Jeffrey Thompson (Olympia, WA) reached $8,000 with 2 lifelines left. As Teacher Week continues, will we see him go all the way and win the million?

This Kindergarten teacher has quite the imagination, and he says he'll go to great lengths to use it to make sure the kids get involved in their schooling. Good idea. No wonder he was the 2004 Disney "Teacher of the Year". Anyway, the game resumes, and he gets to $16,000, before seeing this for $25,000...

On a kitchen knife, what is the term for the point at which the blade meets the handle?
A: Bevel
B: Grade
C: Peen
D: Bolster

Jeffrey has a hunch, but to play it safe, he calls a buddy, Johnny. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to get a response in on time, though it was noted that the last word he said was "bolster". So, still wanting to play it safe, Jeffrey uses the 50:50, which leaves A and D. He then says that he was leaning towards D, but he's not 100% sure, so he walks. He'll head home with $16,000, but he could have had more; it was D.

Dano Beal (Seattle, WA) is up next. He teaches gifted kids, and as it turns out, one student that he taught is off to medical school. That student turned 14 this year. Amazing. Now it's Dano's turn to show how smart he is, and he starts by knowing that kids traditionally chant a rhyme that begins "No more pencils, no more books" to celebrate the end of a school year (maybe an adult could chant that line after getting fired from Staples). As he proceeds through the lower tier, he gets this $500 question...

Two words that have directly opposite meanings are called what?
A: Synonyms
B: Antonyms
C: Homonyms
D: Homophones

Dano asks the audience. 89% of the studio audience and 80% of the AIM users say B, so he goes with that... and they're right! He soon secures the $1,000, then after a break, Dano gets a message from his second-grade class at Lafayette, telling him to bring home the million. Afterwards, this $2,000 question pops up...

On the TV series "Cheers," Sam Malone was a pitcher for what baseball team?
A: Boston Red Sox
B: New York Yankees
C: Baltimore Orioles
D: Detroit Tigers

Dano has seen the show, but he's not sure which team it is, so he calls his friend, Randy, who believes that it's A. Dano goes with A... and he's right! On to $4,000...

In poker, what is the lowest card found in a royal flush?
A: Queen
B: Jack
C: Ten
D: Nine

The 50:50 leaves A and C. Dano apparently isn't a poker player, but he does go with C... and it's C! Going for $8,000, now...

Which of these professionals would most likely present you with a document known as a "bill of lading"?
A: Auto mechanic
B: Professional mover
C: Tax preparer
D: Plumber

Once again, Dano isn't sure. But without any more lifelines left, he chooses to walk. The answer was B, but at least he'll head home with $4,000!

The next teacher is Dean Eastman (Andover, MA). He's a history professor, but he has apparently allowed one of his students, who became a pro wrestler, to wrestle under his name, adding "Mr. Mean" before it. And as a result of this, Dean actually had a chance to be a manager, and at one point, a referee. Interesting. Anyway, he starts with this $100 question...

According to a well-known children's song, which of the following "go round and round"?
A: The wheels on the bus
B: The balls on the floor
C: The rocks in the stream
D: The dogs at the track

Oh boy. Using a lifeline on the first question could have potential to foreshadow a disaster later on if not soon, and Dean decides to use one here. He asks the audience, and both polls give the exact same results, with 98% of each saying A (I wonder why 1% of each picked D). Dean goes with A... and is of course right. No problem with the $200 question, though.

And no time for anything else after that today. Dean will be back tomorrow.
