Cash Cab by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time: 6p ET/5p CT on Discovery
Host: Ben Bailey
"There are 13,000 cabs in New York City, but there's only one that pays you." It's the Cash Cab, and if you step inside it, you could be playing for more than $1000 a trip. Rules are simple: Ben will ask questions of increasing difficulty and amount until you get to your destination. Get three of 'em wrong, and Ben will pull over and leave you. You've also got two lifelines, called "shoutouts" at your disposal: Mobile Shoutout lets you use the cab's cell phone to call anyone for help. The Street Shoutout lets you summon anyone from the street for their advice. Get to your destination before you strike out, and you win. "So what do you say... You in?"

First in the Cab tonight: Dina & Mike. Destination: 122nd & Amsterdam. Objective: dinner. The first five questions are worth $25. They get their first, but they get their first strike afterwards: Named for a town in Scotland, what breed of horse is also the mascot for Budweiser Beer? Their answer: stallion. Correct: Clydesdale. They get their remaining 25ers for $100 as we go into the $50-round. First question: What is the shaky science of earthquakes called? Dina & Mike use their street shoutout at Columbia University to get seismology... and the $50 that go with it. They get another $50 at the first red light, and since they have $200 (or more) at the first red light, it's time for a Red Light Challenge! Ben will ask a question with multiple answers. You have 30 seconds to answer. Get it right, and it's $250. Get it wrong, you don't get a strike, but you don't win any more money.

This Red Light: name the first five books of the Bible. Correct: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. All five under the wire means Dina & Mike are up to $450. They get another $50 as they reach dinner for a total of $500. That's theirs to keep...

BUT Ben has one more offer: take the money, or go for double or nothing on one final Video Bonus. After much musing, they decide... to walk. So that's $500 from the Cash Cab.

Next in the Cab: Colin Smith. Destination: 81st & CPW. Objective: a visit to the museum. Short ride gets even shorter as Colin gets struck with "What Olympic sport features a reverse 2 1/2 somersault with a half-twist pike?", "What screen queen became true royalty when she married Monaco's Prince Rainier in 1956?", and "What government agency do the initials FAA represent." Correct answers: diving, Grace Kelly, and Federal Aviation Administration, and Colin is left to walk the rest of the way to the museum.

Next: Becky. Destination: Seventh & 29th. Objective: picking up pictures. She has to use the mobile shoutout on this: Gitmo is the nickname of what US Marine base in Cuba? Becky calls her husband... who doesn't answer. But she gets Guantanamo Bay anyway. But Becky gets her first strike with this: with its geographic center at 65 degrees latitude, what is the US's northernmost state? Becky's answer: Washington. Correct: Alaska. And the strikes keep on coming: incarcerated in 1999, what Michigan doctor has assisted in 100 suicides? Correct: Jack Kevorkian. One block to go, and questions are worth $50. Getting to their destination with one question to go: after Neil Armstrong, who was the second person to set foot on the moon? She uses her street shoutout in Chelsea. The strangers... don't know. Good news: she's at her destination. Bad news: she has as much money as she came in with.

Next: Jean-Marie. Destination: 81st & Fifth. Objective: meeting for drinks at the Met. She storms through the $25 questions. Jean-Marie gets to $275 at the first red light. Time for another Red Light Challenge: name the five freedoms protected by the First Amendment to the US Constitution. She gets speech and religion, but forgets press, assembly, and petition. She storms through the rest of the $50ers, though. Onto the $100 questions. She gets strike 1 when she has to translate "catorce" into English. She says 40. Correct: 14. But she arrives at the Met with $875, which she can either keep or go onto the Bonus. She takes the Video Bonus question... What acronym describes using a parachute to jump off of fixed objects? "Base Jumping?" ... is right for $1750!

And we've got another episode in the Cab. Also in the Cab: Lisa. Destination: Bryant Park. We're in broad daylight, so she can't see the lights whizzing above her head. She sweeps her $25 questions. Lisa's got $275 as she approaches the Red Light Challenge: from 1907 to 1959, the US grew from 45 to 50. Name the last five states to join the Union. She gets Alaska and Hawaii, but she forgot New Mexico, Arizona, and Oklahoma. Lisa still sweeps her $50 questions though. She strikes on the first of her $100 questions: What British rock band had the late great Keith Moon on as drummer? Correct: The Who. Lisa's answer: The Beatles. Next question: in the US Marine Corps, what is the lowest rank a soldier can have. She asks for her street shout out. The guy says Private, and we have a successful shout-out! She makes $575 on her trip, BUT will she go for the Video Bonus? She goes for it! Question: Moscow is the home of St. Basil's Cathedral and the official residence and workplace of Russian President Vladimir Putin. By what name is this complex called? The Kremlin.... right for $1150!

Next: Al. Destination: Bryant Park ... again. Al almost chokes on his lunch. It's a short trip, but he strikes on the first question when he named "the most trusted name in news" as CBS. It's CNN. Al uses his mobile shout-out for help from his ex-wife to name the pig from Charlotte's Web. She can't. He can't. It's Wilbur. He finally gets one. And the third strike: "What company released its Game Boy video console on its 100th anniversary?" He says Atari. Correct: Nintendo, and Al has to walk the rest of the way to Bryant Park.

Next: Jonathan & Molly. Destination: Greenwich & Jane. They sweep the $25 meter, but have trouble here: What handsome 2005 St. Andrew's graduate is second in line to the British throne? "Prince Harry." Wrong prince. It's William. They have $275 and they're at a Red Light Challenge: besides lust & gluttony, name the other five of Dante's deadly sins. They get avarice, sloth, and pride, but forget wrath and envy. They make it to their destination with $425 banked, but will they go for the Video Bonus? "Why not?" Here we go... what international body building title did Arnold Schwarzenegger win an amazing seven times? "Mr. Universe," they say. Correct... Mr. Olympia. Ouch! So they leave the Cash Cab empty-handed.

The Shepards try to steal with a bachelor party... Not there! The Lohmans get 38. Other answers: strip joint, gambling/poker, fishing/hunting

Round 2: which person from history would people most want to see interviewed by Barbara Walters (6)? Stephanie's Lincoln beats Ashley's George Washington, 2 to 3. MLK is good for 5. JFK is good for 6. Going to the Lohmans for the steal with Elvis. Not there! The Shepards get 36. Other answers: Jesus Christ, Benjamin Franklin

Double Round: if voodoo dolls really worked, a person you'd stick a pin in from time to time (full board). Jeff gets an ex for number one. Other dolls: boss and the in-laws. The Shepards go with siblings for the steal... Got it for 128. Other answer: spouse, friend

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Adam Weinstein (graduate student from Ft. Lauderdale, FL); $39,700, two days
Todd Roshak (program manager from Redmond, WA)
Vicky Stanton (school psychologist orig. from Scotland, now living in Sherman Oaks, CA)

Todd either works for Microsoft or Nintendo. Either way, we're dealing with a calculative mind. Will that favor him, though? Adam starts with $200 Libraries. But it's Vicky who's playing like a champ at $6200 at the game break. Adam has $400, while Todd is $600 down.

Todd finds the Daily Double under $600 Libraries. He's only got $1000, betting everything. The clue: in 1598, Thomas Bodley began to rebuild the library at this university; it reopened in 1602. "Uh, what is Oxford?" Right for $2000. But Adam retakes second play with $3600 to his $2600. Vicky still has $6200 as we go into Double Jeopardy!...

... with Todd starting at $400 "S"cience and finding the first Daily Double under $800. He bets everything again on this: this implement-shaped red blood cell is thought to be the result of a mutation in Africa long ago. "What is a sickle cell?" He's up to $6000! Adam finds the second Daily Double with $1200 The Prophecies of Nostradamus. He bets $5000. The clue: "The faults of" this city "will be laid quite bare" must refer to the failure of the League of Nations--mustn't it? "What is San Francisco?" Nope. It was Geneva, as Adam drops to $5400. He tries to rally back, but only gets to $8200 to Vicky's $10,600 and Todd's $13,200.

If you're in the 808, "Jeopardy!"'s a-coming! Register at jeopardy.com, and you could be saying Aloha to Alex in person.

Final Jeopardy! in "US States": now the fourth-largest in area, it's the largest state formed primarily from the Louisiana Purchase. Correct question: What is Montana?

No one is right, but Vicky bets less to take the win with $7999. Adam leaves with $40,700.

The Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
December 5. One week before Bob turns 82. Let's see how everyone gets ready to celebrate in 7800 today.

Let's start off with contestant Garnet Hair capturing a Coleman tailgating package, valued at $806. She then bellies up to Barker's Bargain Bar for a set of Rossignol skiing equipment ($1075) and a Palecek chair & ottoman ($520). Garnet goes with the chair (Skis ARP: $1775 Diff: 700). ARP of the chairs: $1520 for a difference of $1000. Our first win of the day!

Next, our newest contestant, James Gardner, picks up a 32" flat screen TV for $999, and has a shot to putt for a Ford Mustang V6 Coupe Deluxe in Hole In One. He manages to place 5 groceries in the right order, putting Maxwell House coffee after Citrucel FiberShake, so no $500 bonus today. Bob takes his inspiration putt, and it just clipped the lip of the cup. James's putt, however was right on the money. 2 for 2.

Let's stay on this high note with contestant Amy Harper. The Piqua, Ohio resident picked up a Broyhill wine cabinet worth $1125 after an overbid. Her game: Bonkers for a 5 night trip to Chicago. With the setup as 2 5 7 6, she goes H L L H and wins in just 9 SECONDS!! ARP for the trip unrevealed, and Bob claims this to be a Bonkers record. 3 for 3.

To start the 2nd half, contestant Wallace May, among the First Four, captures a set of "festive" Christmas miniatures, valued at $1287. He now has the chance at a Kawasaki Eliminator ($1416), a Hohner accordion ($1595), and a Highbrow Furniture sofa ($4035) by picking the One Wrong Price. He takes the motorcycle...and is RIGHT (ARP: $2729). 4 for 4. This is great! Could it be?

Let's slide into Act V with contestant Ruth Corthuis claiming a washer and dryer (with a supply of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup). Her game: Any Number for either an Ashley dinette set OR a Ford Focus ZXWSE. Ruth speeds thru her selections, only missing once, and winning the car (ARP: $18,970). 5 for 5!

Can it be? Can we go 6 outta 6 for the 72nd time? Contestant Patricia Prentice picks up an Artcarved diamond anniversary band, worth $1800, to play Cliff Hangers for a Broyhill vintage bedroom with a Dormia.com sleep set (ARP: $7040). Her swag: "Pipeline" game from University, a Bubble Gum machine lamp, and a heated percussion massager. She missed the game by 7 (ARP: $25; Guess: $18), and the lamp by 5 (ARP: $33; Guess: $28). Hans is only 13 steps away from a perfect show. Her guess on the massager: $50. There he goes...1 step, 2, 3, 4, 5...uh oh...6, 7, 8...not good...9, 10...STOPPED!! ARP: $40.

HEXFECTA!! 72ND PERFECT SHOW!!

After two rather uneventful Showdowns, your Top Winner in the Showcase: JAMES!! Your Runner-Up and the HERO of the Hour: PATRICIA!! The first Showcase contained a complete home gym; a Horizon Fitness treadmill, a Hoist home gym, and a KeysFitness elliptical trainer; and after you get all hot and ripped and what not, how about a TRIP TO TAHITI!! James passes all that to Patricia (after wanting to bid on the gym only). Patricia bids $14,227.

Showcase #2 shows us the secret life of (echo effect, please) RONDA RIVET, Construction Worker (/echo). Her Showcase consisted of a Pfaff sewing machine, a Dell laptop, and a Chevy Colorado LS Extended Cab. James's bid: $20,400.

James's bid was a mere $5239 off (ARP: $25,639). But, with such a weird bid that Patricia had, could she have both sewn up? Nope (ARP: $21,547). Her difference was $7320, which gave James the Showcase and the day with a total take of $46,548.

STATS: 6/6; $91,118 + that trip to Chicago.

Trato Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN

Air time:  Noon ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca
We start this week off with 2 friends. AwwwwBarf. Anyways, Sandra the Nurse and Lina the Surgeon get to select either a brown bear or a gray bear. Lina selects the Gray bear for Sandra - and then is told that she can keep the bear or trade it for the curtain. She keeps the bear for Sandra, but Sandra could have had a trip to the Mad Scientist's Chasco Laboratory. Now it's Sandra's turn for Lina - keep the brown bear or trade it away for some Vitacilina and what's behind it. The nurse goes for the Vitacilina for her plastic baby (wha?) and turns down $500. Lina can trade the Vitacilina for Curtain #2, and she does so - but she now gives up $800. She winds up with the Mad Chasco Scientist in a giant teacup. Now does Sandra want to give up the Gray bear for the box? No she doesn't, and she turns down a washer/dryer unit worth $1,098. Behind the Brown Bear is...a $250 certificate to Home Depot. It's better than a giant teacup, but neither lady makes a good deal.

The next person to make a deal is Rosa the beach babe. The babe can go on the beach with a plastic lobster - which Guillermo gives her. Is there something attached to the lobster? If she doesn't want it, she can trade it for Curtain #3, and she does so. Under the Lobster is is card saying....Chasco! Someone FINALLY makes a correct choice and Rosa gets a trip to Pechanga Resort and Casino and a $600 certificate for gasoline for a total of $1,300.

Fernando the scholar and Carla the fairy get to play with the money machine. What's going to come out today? Fernando gets a bailout offer of Curtain #1, but we wants the money. Behind the curtain - the same giant Teacup with a much older looking Mad Chasco Scientist. Inside the Money Machine - $1,000! Can Carla make $1,000 too? Or would she prefer Curtain #2? She wants the Curtain, and this time, there was only five bucks. She gets a much better deal behind the curtain - a refrigerator worth $1,199!

Who wants to trade their stuff for the Gran Trato? Rosa and Carla do. Rosa selects Door #1 and Carla picks Door #3. No one selects door #2, where $850 would have been waiting. Instead a trip to Cancun with luggage worth $2,355 is waiting for...Rosa, which means that Carla has the Gran Trato and will be enjoying a new kitchen, complete with cookware, dishwasher, stove, china and dinette set worth $5,402. That's a very nice way to start the week. Let's see if we can continue it tomorrow.

_ _ R _ _ _ N

With his choices of FHPO we have:

H O R _ _ O N

I can't believe he didn't get it. But he blurted it out about 1 second too late...he had HORIZON...but too late to win a 2006 Volvo XC90. But he leaves with $21,525 in cash and trip to Atlanta.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
They each had to sit in a room with a group of students, and teach them things from subjects like math, science, and literature. This week, they will have a chance to sit in the hot seat and ascend the proverbial ladder, with a million bucks waiting at the top. It's Teacher Week on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!

The first teacher to enter is Kim Austin (Bemus Point, NY). She teaches 5th-grade students, and most of the kids she teaches calls her Ms. Austin, but one ended up calling her "Miss Awesome". Apparently, it caught on. Anyway, Kim starts by knowing that to encourage participation, schoolkids are often told "There's no such thing as a stupid question" (as for a stupid Millionaire contestant, well, there may have been a few in the past, but I digress). She breezes through the lower tier, and as she progresses through the middle tier, she faces this for $4,000...

On the new SAT exam, which debuted in March of 2005, what is the highest possible score?
A: 1800
B: 2000
C: 2200
D: 2400

Kim decides to ask the audience. The studio audience poll is rather close, as the leading choice, D, only has 30%, with A at 27%. The AIM audience seems to be more decisive, though, since 47% said D. After some thought, Kim goes with D... and she's right! Then, after a commercial break, she gets a greeting from her 5th-grade students at Washington Middle School, where they tell Ms. Austin to bring home the million. Nice. Back to the game, and she now goes for $8,000...

What charitable organization's symbol is identical to the Swiss flag except its colors are in reverse?
A: United Way
B: UNICEF
C: Salvation Army
D: Red Cross

Kim thinks that it's D, but she doesn't seem sure enough. So, she calls Phil, the owner of a diner in her hometown, and he is 95% sure that it's D. She trusts him... and she's up to $8,000! On to the $16,000 question...

The site of a historic 1859 abolitionist raid, Harpers Ferry is a small town in what state?
A: West Virginia
B: Pennsylvania
C: North Carolina
D: Maryland

The 50:50 leaves A and C. Kim goes for it and says C... but it's A! Well, it's not a million, but at least the $1,000 that she takes home is better than nothing!

Next up is Jeffrey Thompson (Olympia, WA). He teaches kindergarten students, and he is known at his school as Mr. T. No, he's not the actor from "The A-Team". But there was one time that a kid, in his first day of school, was disappointed to find out that his new teacher isn't the famous actor, despite hearing that his teacher would be "Mr. T". Anyway, Jeffrey begins by knowing that one of the "three R's" of basic education is reading. He has no problem with the lower tier, then after getting the $1,000, following a break, we see some former Kindergarten students of his (now in 1st grade) from Evergreen Elementary, wishing him luck. Afterwards, he has this for $2,000...

The rock lyrics "Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone!" are from a famous 1979 song by what band?
A: Pink Floyd
B: Queen
C: The Who
D: Aerosmith

Jeffrey asks the audience. 85% of the studio audience and 67% of the AIM users pick A, so he goes with that... and he's right! Another couple of questions later, and he is up to $8,000!

And that's where this episode will end. Mr. T (as in Jeffrey, of course) will be back tomorrow to continue.
