Johnson (Scott, Amy, Eric, Kelli, Kati)
Wiley (Donald, Brenda, Kesha, Marvin, Rosemary); $20,000

Our good friend Chris informs us that the "schedule on crack" will jump again on Monday, so don't get too used to seeing the Wileys or the Johnsons. (C-Note: Although judging from the stunt pulled by the challengers today, do we really want'em back? See, they all had fake redneck teeth on. Scary, really. Have some respect, you're on syndicated TV for bloody Christ... Heh...)

Round 1: some place a teenager complains about having to go (6). School is tops for Donald. Church, a family function, and the store come from the champs, while the challengers get a chance to steal with the doctor's. It's good for 93. Other answer: work.

Round 2: a word or phrase that has the word "sponge" in it (6). Spongebob Squarepants is your hero, and he's number one for Brenda. Other sponges: sponge cake and sponge bath. The Johnsons try again with kitchen sponge... Good for 87 more, 180 total. Other answer: sponge off people, sponge mop.

I guess I should get off them for the teeth then.... I guess.

Double Round: besides the United States, a country you most admire (full board). Eric gets #3, Italy, and plays it. Kelli gets France, #5. England is good for #1. Canada is good for #2. We heart Canada. Australia gives the bank enough points for the Johnsons to put it away. All they have to do now is get #6 or avoid a steal. It's up to Kati. "They produce a lot of the cars we use, Japan." Not there. Going to the Wileys. They say Europe... (C-Note: If I may go on my soapbox for a moment... *pulls out bullhorn*.. EUROPE IS NOT A COUNTRY!!!!)... Not there, the Johnsons win it, 300-0. Other answer: Ireland.

Scott & Amy get the unabridged Fast Money round this time. First half: Amy gets 55. Doesn't get any better for this crazy episode as they take only 72, total of $360.

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Vik Vaz (medical student from Austin, TX); $72,002, three days
Jenn Carlson (proposal writer from Foxborough, MA)
Adam Weinstein (graduate student from Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

Seems like we forgot to credit Vik with $1000 yesterday. Our bad. On today's special World AIDS Day show, ambassador Ashley Judd will be giving us some clues on the epidemic. Vik starts with $200 The Bill of Rights, finding the Daily Double under $1000 Travel & Tourism. With $800 more than both Jenn and Adam, he bets everything. The clue: this cruise line's flagship is its sixth to bear the name Rotterdam. "What is Holland America?" That... would've gotten him $2400. Instead, he's zapped to nothingness on "Royal Dutch." I'll give you a royal Dutch, Vik... *fist shakey at the screen*

Ashley wraps up this Jeopardy! round, as Jenn gets the last clue on the board to go to -$600. Adam in the lead with $3200, while Vik is in the middle with $1800... Royal Dutch indeed. Jenn gets first pickings in Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Name That Poem, as Vik finds the first Daily Double under $1200. Still at $1800 to Adam's 32, he risks the max of $2000 on this: TS Eliot: "Let us go then, you and I, when the evening is spread out against the sky." "What is 'The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock'?" Better than Royal Dutch, at least, it's right for $3800 and the lead. He shoots into the lead when he hits Daily Double #2, $2000 in And Now from the Briefing Room. Ahead by $2200, Vik bets $3500 on the law invoked by Carter in 1978 to force coal miners back to work after a 3-month strike. "What is Taft-Hartley?" Got it for $15,700. He ends with that much, while Adam ends with $10,000. Jenn, still in the red by $600, shirks off the stage (literally) with $1000.

If you're in the 808, "Jeopardy!"'s a-coming! Register at jeopardy.com, and you could be saying Aloha to Alex in person.

Final Jeopardy! in "Geography": 10 million people live in this country that is almost bisected by the second-longest river in Europe. Correct question: What is Hungary?

Theoretically, Vik can make six figs today with a right answer and a big bet. But one thing stops in his way, as Adam is right with $20,000. Vik is... wrong with Romania, which means he'll leave with $74,002, and Adam will return to defend tomorrow!

Royal Dutch... *grumble grumble*

The Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
Ahh. It's a new month, so let's kick off December in high style. Here's what went down at 7800 today.

Contestant Misty Shepherd kicks things off by claiming a Vision folding elliptical trainer, priced at $1199, and took a shot at a Chrysler Sebring convertible in Lucky $even. Given the first digit, a 2, she lost $4 on her first guess; 3 for a 7. Then, after losing another $2 on her second guess; 4 for a 2, she busted out on the third guess; 5 for a 3. Not a good start to December.

Next, contestant Barbara Highley captured a Rhythm USA music box wall clock, worth $1099. She was then handed the four Race Game tags; $650, $1250, $1686, $2100; for a lot of good stuff: an Ibanez acoustic electric guitar (?!); home, james! lead crystal stemware, Dunlop his & her tennis equipment, and a Replogle illuminated globe. Her first tag placing - 2100 1686 650 1250 - netted her 2 prizes. The second, switching $1250 for $1686, lost her one prize. The final placing, switching $1250 for $650, netted her NOTHING. The ARP's: 1250 1686 650 2100 Sorry, Barbara.

OK, so we're starting off with two total wipeouts. Let's change things up, with the help of Lisa Beckham (no relation). She captured a JBL home theater system ("just add the TV"), worth $999, following an overbid. She took her place next to Bob next to Door #2 for her shot at Half of $20,000. She swept up a blender, beard trimmer, electric toothbrush, buffet grill, binoculars, and RC car to whittle the boxes to 1 and 14. She took 14 and, with a very long build-up from Bob, ripped open the box and the 10 Large cascaded to the floor. As the show cut to break, Beckham was picking up all the loose money.

Will the second half stay on this high streak? We'll soon find out. 2nd of the First Four, Kaye Christian captured a Hatteras Hammocks outdoor cyprus swing, valued at $1078. She ascended the Turntable to figure ouf whether she was Coming or Going with a pair of Honda CRF 150's. $8216 or $6128? She's going with $6128, and going away with both motorcycles!

We're on a break-even pace now. First of the First Four, Travis Gerrish, won a Nourison patriotic area rug with some Alka-Seltzer liqui-gels, worth $1078. He also made his way to the Turntable to Cover Up a Chevy Cobalt. The initial setup:

        6
      1 9
    0 3 4
  1 7 6 2
1 6 1 7 1
3 4 6 0 3
----------
$2 2 5 8 0

(*setup courtesy Golden-Road.net)

Travis's first cover, $16,739, netted the first FOUR correct! He replaces the 9 with a 4...nuh uh. Shoulda been the 2.

OK, 2 for 5. Need one more to bat .500 today. Mary Ruth Parram (with her 2-line nametag) claimed a Sony digital video camera worth $570, after the second of today's overbids. Her game: Pick a Pair for a 6-night trip to Bangkok. She took the pound of Jelly Belly and the box of Airborne for a pair of $6.99 groceries and is off to Thailand.

Before we get to the Showcases, Barker showcased the hidden talents of stuck-in-the-row-contestant Paul Cassidy and Associate Producer "Fingers" Greco. Before anyone spun in the 2nd Showdown, Paul and Fingers did "The Gator" to the classic swing music of the jukebox prize cue. Go Fingers!

NOW, on to the Showcases. Your Top Winner: LISA! Your Runner-Up: KAYE! The first Showcase gave us the trials and tribulations of Annie the Ant (played by Brandi Sherwood). The prizes she encountered were a Heartland "Flaming" refrigerator, a Golden West billiards table, and a Ford Explorer XLS 4x2. After a short fit on the reveal of the Explorer, Lisa bid $26,000.

The second Showcase gave us three prizes coming in to Port o' Price. Aboard the prize barge, we have a Runco 42" plasma TV, a Pulaski china cabinet, and a Beachcomber hot tub. Kaye bid $21,500 and garnered a moan from the crowd. Were they right?

Lisa's bid of $26,000 was a far piece off (ARP: $36,300 Diff: $10,300). The audience may be wrong about Kaye's bid. $10,300 is a far distance to shoot within. However, Kaye did indeed go over (ARP: $18,520). Lisa walked away with a total of $47,616.

STATS: 3/6; $66,419

REPORTER'S NOTE: OK, Rich is obviously getting less and less audio airtime. Not only did Bob throw to break after the 4th game, he also skipped a ticket plug! What gives?

Where has the year gone? Holiday Shopping Week continues into December as BUTTERMILK BISCUITS are served with $1000 to mother Lee'or Meyerson of Houston formerly. Janessa Fink of Weaverly, IA is a senior at Iowa State studying marketing in management. Santa Barbara engineer Jeff Blau rounds out our motley crew tonight.

$2000 TV Title Tossup GREY'S ANATOMY goes to Lee'or, as we put a trip to San Francisco (not that far from where I grew up) to shop at the Sharper Image. It's all worth $7500. First spin round: Same Name. Lee'or makes a nice clip, but Loses a Turn. Janessa picks it up with $2500 for each L, two of them. But she learns of the used-letter board the hard way. Jeff tries to solve PERSONAL REALITY CHECK for $900... but forgets the ampersand. Lee'or gets the ampersand and the $2650, $5650 so far.

Eggland's Best Jackpot Round is a Phrase.... and a Prize Puzzle! You know what that means. Lee'or spins Bankrupt, and $2100 goes bye-bye. Janessa gets back the Wheel... and for $1950 solves THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING... a phrase you'll hear a LOT on your plane to Curacao! And you'll be on the same plane with her if your Wheel Watcher ID is AG03461. So far, she has $6620 and the lead.

Mystery Round: It's all (a $10,000 Pricegrabber.com shopping spree) or nothing. And it's Rhyme Time with crazy letters on the board. Jeff alone gets seven T's for $2100 and six E's for -$250. Lee'or gets her hands on the Wheel and spins out Lose a Turn. Janessa gets a break... Break's over, Lose a Turn. Jeff gets his hands back on the Wheel, and picks up $1000 from Linens-N-Things... only to give it all back. Lee'or picks up $1000 from homeclick.com... only to Lose another blasted Turn.  Janessa wipes out all the consonants before solving GOOD NIGHT SLEEP TIGHT DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE for $2500, $9120 total.

$3000 Around The House Tossup... That's a lot of GLASS CLEANER, as Lee'or is three-for-three. On the Map is next, and we're into the Final Spin with $1300 for each letter that isn't a vowel. And like nothing, Janessa solves HOT SPRINGS ARKANSAS for $1300 and the win with $10,420. Lee'or leaves with $5650, while Jeff is out with a grand.

Bonus land time, as we try and decipher a Thing. With the usual six and her choices of HCG A, we get...

_ L _ _ _ _ _

No help. She misses PLYWOOD, missing out on the Chrysler 300. But still, a trip to Curacao and $10,420 in other stuff as well ain't bad.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
From the end of November, we go to the end of December. And I would like to see someone at least get to the half-million dollar question before the year is over...

Today's first player is Matt Blitzblau (Capron, IL). Some of the advice given to Matt to help him relax in the hot seat was to talk with Meredith a bit, and maybe flirt. What about the advice of pretending that the audience is in their underwear? "Wouldn't help." Okay, then. Matt starts by knowing that a staircase outside a building to be used in emergencies is known as a fire escape (though it could also be useful as a blind date escape hatch). He eventually completes the lower tier, and soon enough, he sees this $4,000 question...

Sculling and sweeping are the two basic forms of what athletic activity?
A: Horseback riding
B: Mountain climbing
C: Archery
D: Rowing

Matt asks the audience. 89% of the studio audience and 66% of the AIM users pick D, so that's what he goes with... and they're right! Now, for $8,000...

After being fired, Serena Southerlyn asked the surprising question "Is it because I'm a lesbian?" on a 2005 episode of what show?
A: CSI
B: Law & Order
C: ER
D: The West Wing

The 50:50 leaves B and D. Matt then decides to go with D... but it's B! Darn. Well, he does have $1,000 to take home.

Joely Cato (Columbus, OH) is next up. She once lived in Alaska, and yet, she and her mom, who was in Ohio, sort of watched this show together. How? Over the phone, of course. But due to time differences, Joely's mom let her know the answers before she saw the show herself, so she could make it look like she knew everything while watching! Interesting trick, but she doesn't have her mom with her now (though she could come up as a Phone-a-Friend). Joely begins by knowing that in the classic nursery rhyme, Georgie Porgie made the girls cry by kissing them (though I bet when they grow up, they'd likely find leaving the seat up to be a bigger problem). Soon, she secures $1,000, then has this for $2,000...

Once believed to be the time when witches appear, what time of day is known as the "witching hour"?
A: Dusk
B: Dawn
C: Noon
D: Midnight

Joely turns to the audience for help. 85% of the studio audience says D, and so does 65% of the AIM users. She agrees... and is right! Another couple of questions later, and this $16,000 question pops up...

In the U.S., what is the earliest calendar date on which Memorial Day can fall?
A: May 22nd
B: May 23rd
C: May 24th
D: May 25th

She thinks it's C, so she picks it... but she's wrong! It's D! Ouch. Another one bites the dust, and Joely is going home with $1,000.

Next is Kendra Pierre-Louis (Bayside, NY), and she happens to be heading to France as an English language assistant a couple of days after this taping, so she could use some money. So, she starts by knowing that since 1995, celebrities wearing white mustaches have appeared in a high-profile campaign for milk (good thing it ain't lard; that would have been disgusting). Kendra breezes through the lower tier, and a couple of questions after that, she gets this, worth $8,000...

In French, "voilą" literally means what?
A: See there
B: Come to me
C: Here I am
D: Take that

Kendra has obviously brushed up on her French, since she is going to France. She says A... and reaches $8,000!

And there's the horn. Kendra is on a roll, and she'll try to keep it going tomorrow.

[Oh, and in case you didn't already know, Millionaire will be taping at Walt Disney World on January 12-15, with Walk In and Win tapings on the 14th.]
