FDNY
(Mike, Kendall, Mike, Pete, Spencer) for the
International Association of Firefighters Disaster
Relief Fund; $20,000 |
|
LA County FD
(Bill & Hunter, Jayd, Jerry, Carrie & Doc, Robert) for
the Red Cross; $20,000 |
It's a rematch
of Monday's show! But first, Richard is made an honorary
member of both the LA County crew and the Bravest
football team. Hmm... The Bravest vs. the Finest on the
Feud... Note to self, write letter to FMNA. Round
1: something you'd hate to be doing at home when the
fire alarm goes off (5). Mike gets #4, having sex, while
Bill & Hunter do one worse, eating. Kendall gets #2,
sleeping. Pete gets #1, showering. LA County goes on the
john for the steal... Count it for 83.
Round 2:
something you might forget to put on in the morning and
then feel weird all day (7). Kendall gets #2, underwear.
Jayd gets #5, socks. Number one comes from Spencer,
deodorant. LA County gets Makeup for 151. Other answers:
watch/jewelry, belt, false teeth.
Double Round:
something might be described as hot (6). Obiovusly, fire
is number one for FDNY. A stove, coffee, a woman, the
sun, and... soup? Not for LA County; FDNY gets 118.
Other answer: tea
Triple Round:
something that people hug in bed
(4). Carrie & Doc gets #2, their spouse, while Pete gets
#1, their pillow. A stuffed animal and a pet do it for
FDNY, 415-151, as they avenge their earlier loss.
Capt. Mike and
Spencer hope to double their Fast Money take today, but
only manage $850 more for $20,850. |

Host: Bob Barker |

Another party at 33
is about to commence, and you're invited. Let's get it
started with Leslie Schwartz, Jennifer
Anderson-Germaine, Kenneth Baker (Bidder's Row, buddy),
Jesse Langston, and a day sailer. Jennifer wins it
and a chance at a trip to the TO (that's Toronto to us
non-Canadians) playing Check Game. Does Jennifer know
how to do it? She does. Doesn't mean she's any good at
it, though. She writes the check at $3700. The trip is
$4011, and the sum is $7711. Should've aimed lower.
A wine server
cart is up for bids in round 2. Jesse takes it and gets
to play for $10,000! The game is 1/2 Off. After winning
headphones, a karaoke, salt/pepper shakers and a pair of
radio binoculars, he's got four boxes to pick from: 4,
7, 10, and 16. He goes for 7... Empty. Should've
aimed higher; it was under box #4.
Leslie gets a
pair of U2 Edition iPods and a chance at a Ford Mustang
playing One Away. The car isn't $32,521. She sets up
$23,612. We hear one...two... three honks. She sets up
$23,420. Actual price... $21,610. Can't buy a winner
this half, but we do have a trip to the Showcase in
order for Jesse.
And who'll join
her? Margaret Palmer hopes it's her, and she hopes she
plays Plinko. She gets two banjos and a chance at a
$16,110 Chevrolet Cobalt... and maybe a little cash (but
not Plinko cash)... playing Pass the Buck. First
pairing: Alka-Seltzer at $4.99 and Hershey's Syrup at
$1.25. She passes the buck to the syrup... and she's
right! Then comes Bruce's Yams at $1.29 and Sensodyne at
$3.79. She passes right again... and is right. She gets
three picks, but she'll only use one, with it... $3000.
Laverne Libron-Boyd,
who lost her hat en route to Contestant's Row (she got
it back, don't worry), gets a grill in round 5. Can she
Take Two for a Rascal scooter, a knife set, a gas pump
replica, and a sofa? The target: $4718. She takes the
scooter at $3198 and the gas pump at $2595. Not right.
She'll keep the scooter and take the knives at $1297.
Not right either. She should've taken the sofa and the
scooter.
Finally, Julia
Crane, who dances with some "Dancing with the Moon"
dinnerware. But can she convert the first W in Squeeze
Play? A Gemcar is hers if she does. The setup, $93,950.
She removes the second nine... but she should've removed
the only 5! So no outright winner today, but Laverne did
take $3000 earlier. That's all she takes, as Margaret
takes the second Showcase spot.
First up, who's
hungry? Let's go to the TPIR Cafe, where they're serving
up a ladies' bracelet watch, a trip to Australia, and a
Hi-Lo trailer. Top winner Margaret passes the check to
Jesse, who bids $23,500. Margaret, meanwhile, gets a
date with Mr. Wrong. She hopes to get four raincoats, a
home gym, and a Ford Five Hundred out of this date from
hell. She bids $29,000. Actual retail price: $24,053.
She's over. Jesse's actual price: $36,683. He's the big
winner today with $37,733.
Stats: 0-5-1,
$51,012. |

Trato
Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN
Air time: Noon ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca |

Guillermo's feeling
sick to start the show, so he enlists Maria to aid him.
He also picks up (another) Maria the Stewardess and
Eduardo the Zorro on the way to the first deal. Ana will
be aiding everyone - will Ana give Maria $400 or what's
in the Vitacilina? Ana gives Maria the Vitacilina -
which contains a $700 certificate to Home Depot! Next up
- the choice for Eduardo - $400 of the small box? Ana
gives Eduardo the $400 - but inside the box was a gift
certificate to Benihana and free movies for a year for a
total of $1,050. Would either Maria or Eduardo trade
what they have for Curtain #2? They both want the
Curtain, and they both get Chasco the Magician and his
big floppy hat. Guillermo has a deal for Maria the Nurse
- take $500 of the Curtain. She takes the money and
gives up a New Dishwasher worth $1,185. That's still
better than a big
floppy Magician's hat.
Josephina isn't getting a hat. She's getting a picnic
basket - or a tomato. One of those items has something
good, but the other one has nothing of value. Guillermo
will give Elisa $300 to forget the whole thing, but
Elisa wants the Tomato. Inside the basket - scarves for
a Chasco! Under the Tomato - a $500 certificate to
Marshall's!
We get to play Dominoes for the next stunt. One Domino
leads to Curtain #3, one leads to a box, and one leads
to nothing. Behind the Curtain - a Sofa, a flat screen
TV and a beauty kit from Lamas worth $1,949! Brianna the
pajama woman picks domino #2, while Maribel, who's
playing Cleopatra, selects #3. Guillermo offers both
women a bail out - if they don't trust their domino,
they can go for the small box. Neither woman wants the
small box, and they could have had a mini DVD player
worth $399. How did the women do? No one chose the tile
that was selected to the box, and inside the box was a
washer/dryer worth $1,098. The tile with the goodies
belongs to...Brianna! She wins the goodies and Maribel
wins nothing.
Someone could win over $5,000 in the Gran Trato. Brianna
decides to keep the $1,900+ in goodies, but Maria the
Nurse wants a shot, as does Josephina. Maria wants Door
#2 and Josephina wants Door #3 - but we see Door #1
first, where a living room set worth $2,481 was waiting
for someone. No one gets that, but Josephina gets $850,
which is a nice step upwards. Maria gets a huge step
upwards, as she wins a trip to Miami and a new kitchen
(with Refrigerator, Stove and Dishwasher) for El Gran
Trato, worth $5,222. That's 2 in a row. Tune in tomorrow
to see if we can end the week with 3. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Host: Meredith Vieira |

Yesterday, an
excited Brandi White (Tyler, TX) made it to $16,000, but
had to use all 3 of her lifelines on the way. How much
farther will she be able to go?
Her husband told her to "go big" on the show, and so
far, she has. She also has twin daughters, Sadie and
Anne, who just turned 5, and we get to see a cute pic of
them. Soon enough, Brandi resumes with a question asking
what movie Gary Cooper turned down a lead role for,
thinking it would be "the biggest flop" in history, and
with her guess of Gone With the Wind, she gets $25,000.
Then, Meredith comments on how it was like a dumb guess,
but after cutting herself off at an interesting time,
Brandi says she thinks she was just called a dumbass!
This was something that you just had to see. Anyway, at
this point, Brandi gets Switch-the-Question, which she
uses at the next level due to not knowing that someone
who suffers from gamophobia has an exaggerated fear of
marriage. As a result, she now faces this for $50,000...
What is the birthday of author J.K. Rowling, as well as
her most famous creation, Harry Potter?
A: March 1st
B: July 31st
C: September 25th
D: December 14th
Brandi says that A was jumping out at her, but she
doesn't know for sure. So, she decides to guess C... but
it's B! Well, Brandi was quite the contestant, and
she'll be taking home $25,000!
The next player is Mai Kulkarni (Macon, GA), and her
mother encouraged her to try out for the show. Good
advice. And now, she's here, and she starts by knowing
that Frank Sinatra sang "I want to wake up in a city
that never sleeps" in a famous tune about New York City.
Mai then gets through more questions, like one that asks
what TV series John O'Hurley played catalog mogul J.
Peterman on (Seinfeld), before getting to this one for
$8,000...
Traditional floor coverings in Japanese houses, tatami
mats are primarily made from what material?
A: Bamboo poles
B: Rice paper
C: Silk
D: Straw
The 50:50 leaves A and D. Mai then goes with D... and
she's right! Next up is this for $16,000...
A figure skater performs a single axel by jumping into
the air and rotating a total of how many degrees?
A: 270
B: 360
C: 540
D: 720
Mai seems sure that it's B, and she goes with that...
but it's C! Ouch. Tough break there, as Mai will have to
settle for $1,000. [To be honest, I also thought B, but
then again, I don't know much about figure skating.]
In comes Matt Harwood (Morrisville, PA) to sit in the
hot seat. He actually came all the way from Scotland to
be on the show. He had taken the test, then went to
Scotland, then came back to take his shot at the million
here. And he starts by knowing that the classic toy Slip
'n Slide needs to be hooked up to a garden hose to use.
After another few questions, he has this $1,000
question...
Which of these fruits grows on vines?
A: Lemon
B: Banana
C: Pear
D: Cantaloupe
Matt asks the audience. An astounding 92% of the studio
audience goes with D, and so does 53% of the AIM users.
Matt goes with D... and he has $1,000! Then, on the
$2,000 question, he is asked to finish this name of
Oprah Winfrey's annual holiday gift show: "Oprah's
________". He believes it is "Wish List"... but it's
not! It's "Favorite Things"! At least he had nothing to
lose at this point, and he takes home $1,000.
That'll do it for today. A new contestant will begin
tomorrow. |
