(Mike, Kendall, Mike, Spencer, Pete) for the
International Association of Firefighters Disaster
Relief Fund |
|
Atlanta FD
(Dennis, Cynthia, Dave, Sharyl, Paul) for First
Responders Relief Fund; $20,000 |
Before any
feuding is done today, Richard is made an honorary fire
chief of the city of Atlanta. *applause*. Round 1: 100
women, something you hope your blind date will have (6).
Dennis gets #4 from teeth. Good enough to beat Mike's
#6, hair. Super Dave wants muscles for #5. Paul gets a
nice ride, #3. Dennis gets dough-re-mi, top of the
board. One answer left, and Cynthia's got it, manners,
for the sweep and 91.
Round 2:
something you might slide down (6). Kendall gets #2, the
fireman's pole. The other Mike gets #1, a slide, as we
slide off a hill, a rail, and stairs. We slide over to
Atlanta, who go with ladders. Not there, as FDNY get 92.
Other answer: waterfall?
Double Round:
something people stretch (5). Dave's body beats Mike's
rubber band, 1 to 2. Sharyl goes for elastic. It counts
with clothes. Paul gets #3, money. The truth sweeps it
for the ATL, which now leads, 283-92.
Triple Round: a
televised event that people throw parties to watch
(4). Spencer hits the big one, the Super Bowl. The World
Series, New Year's Eve... that's it for NY. The family
from Atlanta goes with the Final Four. Not there! NY
wins, 362-283. Other answer: awards show/Oscars
New York's
Bravest take on Fast Money, as Capt. Mike and Spencer
get the $20,000 from all five number ones. |

The
Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
|
This recap is
dedicated in loving memory to Ralph Edwards, without
whom a young DJ from Darrington, WA wouldn't have the
chance to grace our screens for the last 40 years.
Here's to you. Now onto the party.
Parker Hackett,
Robin Watkins, Stephanie Skelton, and Joseph Nunley are
your first-four, and an HDTV is your first prize, as Bob
enters from the audience. Must be hiding something big
on stage. How about 3 Strikes? Stephanie takes the TV
and the chance at a Cadillac DeVille. The numbers are 3,
4, 5, 6, and 9. First pull... steeeee-rike! Not until
pulls four and five do we realize that we're playing for
a $46,000+ Caddy! Then comes pull seven... steeeeee-rike
two! Four more pulls.... and Stephanie joins the Travis'
Cadillac Club, pulling a $46,395 whip out the lot at 33.
The baseball
theme continues with a lounge chair shaped like a mitt.
Joseph picks that up as well as a chance to do a bit of
traveling to Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago. Atlanta's
marked at $4055. Boston's marked at $3783. Chicago's
marked at $3108. If you can believe it, one of them is
wrong. Joseph thinks it's the trip to Boston. The trip
to Beantown is... $3783. Atlanta's price was off.
A necklace,
bangle, and ring combo goes to David Cockrell, Jr., who
gets to play for $10,000 in the Grand Game. The target:
$4 even. The products: Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies,
Glad trash bags, Hot Pockets, Hunt's diced tomatoes,
Lemon-Lime Airborne, and Super Poli-grip. He goes for
the pies... $1.39. Next up, the Hot Pockets... $2.29.
Next up, the tomatoes... just shy of a buck. Will he
take the $1000? Nope. He's going for it with the trash
bags... $4.49. Should've taken the Poli-grip. No money
for him, but $1000 for Joseph, as he spins out a buck in
the Showdown.
Parker takes
some snowshoe equipment in round 4, but he'd rather have
a trailer in Double Prices. The Double Prices are $8521
and $7039. He goes for $7039... and he's got a trailer!
A washer/dryer
goes to Dean Christofilos, who doesn't last long in
Contestant's Row. Bob gives him a pancake maker, a
CD/clock radio, an electric toothbrush, and an espresso
maker. But what Dean REALLY wants is a Chevrolet Equinox
on a really big turntable... That's new. His game is
Switcheroo. Numbers: 2, 3, 5, 6, and 9. First 30...
nothing. Second 30... Three. He gets the espresso
maker... the radio.... and the pancake maker. The 9 went
with the car.
Shoshanna
Liebovitz wins a telescope. Too bad she couldn't use
that in Magic #. She sets it at 885. The pool table is
WAY over at $3000. The crystal stemware was... $1200.
Also over. Her two spins in the Showdown... over. Dean
takes the second spot.
First Showcase
gives us a living room with carpeting, an upright piano,
and a hot tub. Top winner Joseph passes to Dean, who
bids $14,000. Dean tears into some fortune cookies. In
them we find a treadmill, a trampoline, and a Chevrolet
Impala. His bid: $24,000. Actual price: $26,712. Actual
price of Joseph's Showcase: $16,234. Another close one,
but it goes to Joseph, who takes away $17,383. Pales in
comparison to Stephanie's earlier win, but hey, a win's
a win.
Stats: 2 for 6,
$78,583. |

Trato
Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN
Air time: Noon ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca |
|
Guillermo starts
off with the cats in the hat - Ana and Eduardo. They get
$50, but they can turn it into a new Chrysler PT Cruiser
worth $15,995. The game is switching prices, as we have
Ajax, DuraMax Light Bulbs, Old English Furniture Polish
and Rain-x Car Wax. The couples have to rearrange the
prices, and if they get them all right, they win the
car. We start with the Ajax and a $7.90 price. He
changes it to...$0.97. The DuraMax, which was $4.41, is
now $1.44. The Old English, which was $6.39, is now
$3.69, and the Rain-x, which was $4.37, is now $3.74.
Are they right? The audience doesn't think so, but
Guillermo will give them $300 if they are right on the
Ajax - and they are! $300 more if they get the Light
Bulbs right - and they do for $300 more. Those 2 were
pretty easy, but now we get harder. Is the Old English
$3.69? No ($3.96) and no car for them. They can still
get another $300 if the Rain-x is $3.74, but it's $3.47
and that's all they are getting...
...or is it? The couple can spend their $650 on the
curtain, but they don't and they give up...ANOTHER NEW
CAR! This one is a Ford worth $14,920. Ouch! But they
still have $650 and they are happy.
Rafael is happy that he is selected, and he is the proud
owner of a honey bear doll. What's in the honey jar? He
can find out - or he can go for Curtain #3 instead. He
wants the bear, and he passes on a big stuffed bee with
a mini swimming pool for a honey of a Chasco! Inside the
jar of some honey is a nice wad of money - $600 for
Rafael!
The next game comprises of 2 people - Artemio the human
newspaper and Ana the love child. Artemio is given an
explorers hat, which he can keep - or give up for the
small box. He keeps the hat and Ana gets the small box,
which Guillermo wants to buy back for $300. Ana takes
the money, but she could have had 2 nice watches worth
$750. Artemio is offered Curtain #2, and he takes it,
but inside the hat was $800. That was nice. What's
behind the curtain is not so nice - it's an even bigger
be sitting on a fluffy bee throne for a stinging Chasco!
That, unfortunately, now belongs to Artemio.
The Gran Trato can belong to either Ana/Eduardo or
Rafael. The couple wants Door #2 while Rafael selects
Door #3. Neither selects door #1, which means that they
both give up a trip to Cancun worth $2,400. One of them
is getting the Gran Trato, but it's not Rafael, who gets
$800. The couple gets a new kitchen, complete with
cookware, dinette set, stove, dishwasher, china and
baker's rack, a total of $5,136. The Cats in the Hat
enjoy the happy ending. Tune in tomorrow for a new
story. |

Monteleone Hotel. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or
millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |
|
Yesterday, we had a
$100,000 winner, then Scott Holbert (San Diego, CA) got
to $2,000. How will he fare today?
Apparently, one of Scott's life goals was to sit across
from Meredith. Well, that's taken care of now. Now let's
see what he can do while still sitting there, as he
resumes with this question for $4,000...
A popular menu item, pasta e fagioli is a type of what?
A: Sandwich
B: Soup
C: Salad
D: Casserole
Scott decides to ask the audience. 71% of the studio
audience says B, while 21% says D. But the AIM poll sees
49% saying D, with 28% saying B. Oh, boy. Well, Scott
then decides to go with the studio audience, and says
B... and he's right! He then uses the 50:50 to help
deduce that according to a 2005 Vanity Fair interview,
Martha Stewart's prison nickname is M. Diddy (though
Scott admitted that he hates Martha). Then, after
another question, Scott goes for $25,000 with this...
Who was emperor of Rome when the year turned from 1 B.C.
to 1 A.D.?
A: Claudius
B: Caligula
C: Augustus
D: Nero
Scott wants to call a brother-in-law of a friend, David
Rose, whom he actually had never met in person before.
David can only manage a total guess, and says D. But
once the call is done, Scott says that he thinks David
is wrong. So, after saying that when gambling, he's good
at losing a lot of money, Scott gambles, and goes with
C... and he's not losing money this time! He has
$25,000! Then, after not knowing what state the famously
kitschy tourist trap Wall Drug is in (South Dakota), he
switches out for this $50,000 question...
The wheel used on the popular game show "Wheel of
Fortune" consists of how many individual spaces?
A: 24
B: 28
C: 32
D: 36
Scott decides to go ahead and guess C... but it's A! Oh
well; at least he didn't lose any money, and he's going
home with $25,000!
Next up: Brandi White (Tyler, TX). She seems really
excited. And I do mean REALLY EXCITED. So, after she
tries to calm down a bit, they get right to it with her
knowing that in Christianity, Adam and Eve's eating of
the forbidden fruit is usually referred to as the
"original sin". Brandi then proceeds through a bunch
more questions, and at the $8,000 level, she asks the
audience since she doesn't know which common drugstore
product has the active ingredient aluminum salt. She
faces a situation similar to what Scott faced earlier in
the show, as the studio audience favours antiperspirants
(with 77%), but the AIM poll favours teeth whiteners
(with 34%). And just like Scott did earlier, Brandi goes
with the studio audience, who is again right. Then,
along comes this for $16,000...
In China, what color is traditionally worn at funerals
as a symbol of mourning?
A: White
B: Red
C: Green
D: Blue
Brandi calls her friend, Tom, but he doesn't know. She
then says she wants to phone another friend. Heh. So,
she uses the 50:50, leaving A and D. She then decides to
just go for it, and says A... and she is at $16,000!
And there's the horn. She may be out of lifelines for at
least the next question, but Brandi will be back
tomorrow to go for more money. |
