LA County FD
(Bill, Hunter, Jayd, Jerry, Robert, Carrie, Jay) for
the Red Cross |
|
FDNY
(Mike, Kendall, Mike, Spencer, Pete) also for the
Red Cross |
The special Feud
Weeks continue as firefighters from they City of Angels,
the Big Apple, and the Dirty South take on each other
for charity. Trust me.. It's getting hot up in here! Round 1: something
that's better to do in the dark (5). Bill & Hunter get
#1, sleep. See, Hunter's a dog. Jayd... wants to
phone-a-friend. That's on in about 25 minutes, dude.
Anyway, he gets #2, sex. Then comes movies and a
possible steal from New York with "stargaze." Not there,
and the LA County gets 91. Other answers: tell ghost
story, cry
Round 2:
something you'd hate to be wearing when unexpected
company arrives (5). Jayd gets the big one, underwear.
Other unwanted clothing: birthday suit. New York gets
another shot with a mud mask. Not there! LA has 129.
Other answers: pajamas/nightgown, robe, towel
And Jay's
asleep. Double Round: an animal with only three letters
in its name (5). The other Mike gets cat, #1. We also
get dog and pig. LA tries for rat.... Not there! NY is
on the board with 142! Other answer: elk, ape.
Triple Round:
something you associate with Kentucky
(4). Robert goes with horse racing... Count it! The
Derby's #1. We also think of their fried chicken and
bluegrass, but what's #4 for the game? FDNY goes for the
University of Kentucky Wildcats over bourbon... Not
there! LA County wins it, 411-142. Other answer...
bourbon!
Robert, Bill,
and Hunter go for Fast Money, and while Hunter can't
give any of the answers, that doesn't stop Robert or
Bill from getting the $20 large. |

The
Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
|
It's Monday, and
it's getting hot in here, and it's not just because of
the sauna offered in round 1. Michael Miller gets the
sauna and a chance at an off-road motorcycle and a
dinette set at Barker's Bargain Bar. The moto is marked
$2067. The dinette is marked at $1858. Which is more
discounted? Michael goes for the bike, marked down $500.
The dinette... marked down $1200. Not a good way to
start the week.
Let's hope for
better as we have a set of tailgating equipment. Patrick
Hughes grabs that, but he's about to face a Temptation,
and if he plays his cards right, he might end up with a
Dodge Caravan. But first, Bob offers up a bass guitar
worth $949, a floor clock worth $3535, a Moissanite
white gold necklace worth $4499, and four cameras worth
$500. That's $9483 in gifts, a new game record. Here's
the temptation... keep the prizes... or go for the van,
which Patrick priced at $19,540. He decides... Deal.
He's taking the gifts and leaving the van for another
day. It's a good thing that he did, because the 5 is
wrong. It was actually $19,340.
But perhaps the
luckiest person to come out of the first half is Toni
Shaffer, who, after winning a bar set, takes on the
Plinko Board! Now in recent weeks, Plinko has not been
kind to the players. Will that change? After snagging
chips from Bob, a coffee maker, and a cookie press, she
comes up with... $600. Darn. The streak continues.
At the Showdown,
it's Michael and Patrick in a spin-off after being tied
at 65¢. In the spin-off, Michael spins 55. Patrick...
spins 40. Michael's on his way to the Showcase.
But who will
join him? Will it be Theresa Noel, who won a set of art
products in round 4? She plays Side by Side for a CD
jukebox. The setup: 89 over 95. Is the price $8995 or
$9589? She goes for $8995... and she's got a CD jukebox.
Or maybe it'll
be Jeremy Heriden? He was down and up before you can say
"It's a new dishwasher", but when it came to playing Any
Number for either a Ford Focus or a chocolate fountain,
all he could muster was the Piggy Bank, whose contents
only amounted to $9.84. Get a few Wonka bars with that.
Jacqueline
Ramirez looks like she could be Showcase-bound... The
last of the first four takes half a dozen cordless
phones to her game, Now (today) or Then (September
1996). The products: Ritz Crackers at $2.99, Citracal at
$10.97, Quickie soap and brush at 4.89, a 10-pack of
Capri-Sun at $2.29, Smucker's blackberry jam at $3.35,
and Oxford index cards at 69¢. She goes for the
Capri-Sun first for NOW. Wrong. How about NOW for the
jam? That's right. Then for the cards? Nope. Now for the
crackers? Nope. No more ways to win, and we're 1-4-1
today.
So to answer the
opening query, it's Jeremy in the Showcase as runner-up.
First up, Lois & Clair, the unknown sisters of Lewis &
Clark. They get a computer, a watercraft, and a Ford
Expedition. Top winner Michael bids $60,000. Jeremy,
meanwhile, has a new bedroom with mattress with bedding
& sleep set, a set of lotions, and a trip to Sweden.
Believing that Michael is over, and because his friend
in the audience is 30, he bids... $30. Sure enough,
Michael is well over the asking price of $43,822, as
Jeremy wins the day with $17,189.
Stats: 1/6 with
a bailout, and $43,033. |

Trato
Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN
Air time: Noon ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca |
|
We start the week
with Sandra and her husband Jose - as well as Rosalita
and her husband Gumercino. Guillermo gives them both $50
and tells them that they can win more if they are
accurate in pricing Glade, Drano, and Dawn. The Glade is
worth $100. Jose's guess - $4.39 Gumercino's guess -
$3.50. The Price - $4.46 and Jose wins $100. The Drano
is worth $200. Gumercino's guess - $7.00. Jose's Guess -
$5.89. Price - $4.98 and Jose gets $200 more. Finally,
the Dawn - worth $400. Jose - $2.89. Gumercino - $3.00.
Price - $3.99 and Gumercino gets $400.
Does either couple want to trade? Guillermo has some
Vitacilina to trade, and Sandra wants to trade for it.
Inside the Vitacilina - $500, so they picked up an extra
$150. Does Rosalita want to spend her money on Curtain
#3? No she doesn't, and she gives up a giant teacup,
with straw and midget for a Chasco! Everyone's happy, as
we give out a total of $950 in the first segment.
What can Selina win in the second segment? She can win
the box - but Guillermo will give her 700 liras - and
give her $5 for each $1 the Lira is worth. She doesn't
want the money - and instead wins a gaming system, along
with an LCD for a total of $1,350!
Next up - a Tricky Tray Auction featuring Ricky the
straw man and Guadalupe the ambassador. They can each
buy boxes for $200 each - and since they have $400, they
can make 2 purchases. Ricky wants the first box, and he
gets a big fluffy frog doll Chasco. Oops. Guadalupe
alone wants Box #2, and she gets $600 worth of gasoline!
Who wants the final box? Guadalupe wants it again - and
she gets a new $399 portable DVD Player. She gets some
very nice stuff - but will she trade it back for the
Gran Trato? She will, and Selina will as well.
The Gran Trato is well over $5,000 today. Selina thinks
it's behind door #2, while Guadalupe will try Door #3.
We will first see Door #1, which has $750. Next is Door
#....3, which means that Guadalupe will be going to
Puerto Vallarta on a $2,500 trip. It also means that
Selina will win the Gran Trato, which today is a new
kitchen, with dinette, china, cookware, stove,
dishwasher and cabinet for a total of $5,591! We'll see
how much more we can give away tomorrow. |

Wheel
of Fortune by Jason Block & Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or
wheeloffortune.com
Hosts: Pat Sajak & Vanna White |
|
While the city of
New Orleans rebuilds after Hurricane Katrina, we go back
in time for Let's Party! Week on the Wheel, just before
the hurricane hit. Pat and Vanna ask for your help in
the continued rebuilding effort and will match the first
$100,000 donated at wheeloffortune.com.
The $1000 Tossup is a Phrase. Jessica Derenbecker from
Kenner, LA thinks THE MORE THE MERRIER for $1000. She's
a student at LSU. Administrative manager Linda Cornett
of Head of Island, LA and production manager Kelley
Gifford (a dude) from Gulfport, MS hope to get $2000
from a Living Thing. But Jessica gets another $2000 from
a PALOMINO HORSE and the right to start spinning for a
trip to the CMA Awards in Nashville ($4500). The Prize
Puzzle is an Event. Linda picks up a Free Spin and $1000
from TicketsNow.com en route to a solve of YEARLONG
CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION for $2300. But where the heck
could that be? Oh yeah, Las Vegas, baby! And if you're
Wheel Watcher CF06721, you're going to Vegas, too! So
far, Linda's got $8400 in stuff.
And we got
Rockin' Dopsie Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters! Oh hey,
there's a cash game at WorldWinner.com if you want to
play the Wheel for cash, but can't spare the trip out to
Culver City. Back to business.
The Eggland's Best Jackpot round is Before & After.
Linda picks up the CMA Awards trip. After hitting Lose a
Turn, she uses her Free Spin... only to go Bankrupt soon
after. Kelley spins to solve FINAL BOARDING CALL OF THE
WILD for $4900. Everyone has some money now!
The Mystery
Round... It's all ($10,000) or nothing! We're dealing
with the menu again. No options today, but Jessica
solves BANANA WALNUT BREAD PUDDING for $6650 more,
giving her $9650 and the lead.
The tossup for
$3000 goes Around the House, where Linda finds a $3000
COAT CLOSET. The final spin round is a Song Title, as
Pat spins out... holy moley, $6000! Jessica solves SHAKE
RATTLE AND ROLL for $12,000. She's your big winner with
$21,650 in cash! Kelley takes away $4900, while Linda
goes traveling with $12,400.
We're off to the
Bonus Wheel, and we're dealing with an Event. With the
usual six and HPD I...
_ I _
_ _ S H
"BIG BASH?" You
got it! And what does she get for the Big Bash? BIG
CASH. $100,000! She's going back to LSU with six
figures, $121,650! If I recall correctly, this is the
new single-day record on Wheel. And I invite anyone to
correct me here. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or

Host: Meredith Vieira |

Back to normal this
week. James Shand (Miami, FL) is back after a week-long
break, with $4,000 and all lifelines intact.
James' mother gave him some advice; to not waste the
money that he gets. But he doesn't plan on following
that advice; he wants to "live it up". Well, it's his
choice. And while in New York, he actually got to meet
Al Franken. Lucky guy. Now, he gets to resume with this
question for $8,000...
After space shuttles return safely to earth, NASA
returns them to Florida using what mode of
transportation?
A: Aircraft carrier
B: Jumbo jet
C: Freight train
D: Tractor-trailer
The 50:50 leaves B and C. James is leaning towards C,
because he doesn't see how a shuttle can fit in a jumbo
jet, and he decides to go with C... but he's wrong! It's
B! (I'm pretty sure the shuttle is carried on top of the
jet; I remember seeing it on TV one time.) Well, at
least he has $1,000 to take home.
Next up is Kathryn Shaughnessy (Lakeville, MN). She's a
high-school teacher, but the kids that she teaches don't
know that she's at the show during the taping. Well,
they'll likely know by now. Kathryn starts by knowing
that in the U.S., people traditionally hand out cigars
to celebrate the birth of a baby. She then answers some
more questions, like one that asks what indoor game
table is usually designed to be folded in half and
stored upright (ping-pong table), to get to $1,000.
Then, along comes this $2,000 question...
What scientific phenomenon causes bits of dust in the
house to band together and form "dust bunnies"?
A: Magnetism
B: Centrifugal force
C: Inertia
D: Static electricity
Kathryn asks the audience, and an overwhelming 93% of
the studio audience goes with D, while 78% of the AIM
users agree. She goes with them... and it's D! A couple
more questions later, and she has to use the 50:50 to
help deduce that Julia Roberts' first acting gig since
having twins is in the 2005 video "Dreamgirl" by the
Dave Matthews Band. She then has this for $25,000...
The Island of Elba, where Napoleon Bonaparte went into
exile, has belonged to what nation since 1861?
A: Italy
B: Spain
C: Greece
D: Portugal
Kathryn decides to call Sal, a friend that she met on
another game show. Which one it is wasn't specified,
though. Anyway, Sal is 75-80% sure that it's A, so
Kathryn goes with that... and she has $25,000! Then,
after getting to $50,000, Kathryn is stumped on a
question that asks what Nostradamus's 16th-century book
of prophecies is called (Centuries), so she switches out
for this $100,000 question...
The nation's first "Adopt-a-Highway" program was
launched in 1985 by what state's Department of
Transportation?
A: Texas
B: California
C: Colorado
D: Utah
Kathryn is stumped on this one as well, so she walks.
The answer turned out to be A, but hey, she's taking
home $50,000!
Though there is little time left, Sherrie Super
(Huntsville, AL) sits in the hot seat next. She's a
writer from NASA, so she knew the answer to the question
that James missed earlier. Maybe she can do better,
then. Sherrie starts by knowing that AAA recommends that
people "winterize" their cars to prepare them for cold
weather (you'd need a different process to prepare for
holiday weight gain). She then gets to $200.
Time runs out for the day. Sherrie will be back
tomorrow. |
