Team Naughty
(Lauren Koslow - Days, Jane Elliot - GH, Jess Walton
- Y&R, Kimberlin Brown - Y&R, Ronn Moss - B&B) for
the American Red Cross; $21,420 |
|
Team Nice
(Austin Peck - Days, Scott Clifton - GH, Doug
Davidson - Y&R, Tracey Bregman - Y&R, Lorenzo Lamas
- B&B) for the ASPCA Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund |
Team Naughty is
three for three. Round 1: a word or phrase that starts
with the word "lap" (6). Austin gets #1, lap dance.
Other laps: lapdog, laptop, and lap around a pool. Can
the Naughties steal with "lap of luxury"? Yes for 88.
Other answer: lap it up
Round 2:
what part of people's bodies do dogs bit the most (6)?
Scott gets #1, legs. Dogs also bite hands, bottom, arms,
feet and ankles for the 98-point sweep.
Double Round: if
you got stuck in an elevator, what would you do (full
board)? Doug gets #3, press the alarm button. Tracey
would use the emergency phone, #2. Lorenzo gets #6, try
to open the door. Scott gets #1, scream. Doug gets...
laparoscopy.. no, wait it out. The Naughties try to
steal with cry. Nope. The Naugties get 290. Other
answer: pray.
Triple Round:
something that makes you dizzy
(4). Kimberlin stifles out carousel for #3, while
Tracey's alcohol is good for #2. Austin gets #1,
spinning around. What's #4? Heights for the steal as the
Naughties get 292.
Sudden Death: a
woman who probably doesn't return Tom Cruise's phone
calls. Lorenzo: "Paris Hilton." That was a dumb answer.
Ronn: "Nicole Kidman." That was a smart answer for the
win, 538-290
Kimberlin & Jess
get only 174 for $870. |

The
Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |

Bryan Houlberg,
Crystal Swart, Bettye Brown, and Sonja Todd get it
started at 33 today. Now for the past two days, we've
had nothing but a double overbid. Please don't make it
three. We start with a washer/dryer, which goes to Sonja
as well as a chance at a Jeep Wrangler in Lucky Seven.
We start with a 1. Then she goes with a 7, 5, 4, 5.
Actual price: $19,725. That costs her all seven bucks,
but she's got the Jeep to take back to Victoria, BC.
Robert Goodwin
takes a brief moment to get on stage to meet his hero,
then goes back down to bid on an armoire, and then comes
back up after he wins it. But can he win a Chevrolet
Cobalt playing Pushover? He pushes to $17,187... and
that's 2 wins!
Crystal, though,
would log the show's first notch in the Loss column, as
she wins an acoustic guitar, but can't convert in
Barker's Markers. The marked prices are $1580, $1070,
and $2725. The prizes are an elliptical trainer, a set
of luggage, and a tropical dinette. The dinette is
$2725. The luggage is $1070. So is the elliptical
trainer $1580 or should she switch it to $2199? She
keeps it and her $500 wad... both of which are lost.
Another thing lost, a Showcase spot, to Sonja.
Bryan gets his
shot on stage with a TV. He goes Grocery shopping for a
new living room. The products: Hot Pockets, Bayer
aspirin, Bruce's yams, Pine-sol lemon cleaner, and
Alka-Seltzer. He takes 8 Hot Pockets for $2.29, one yam
for $1.29, and one Alka-Seltzer for... $24.60. Way over
$21.
Last of the
first-four Bettye wins in round 5 thanks to a
chandelier. But can she find the right path of a Ford
Mustang? No. But she does win a "Raiders of the Lost
Ark" video and Rummikub game.
Finally, Sheryl
Magpali wins a man's watch en route to the stage, where
she'll try to win ski equipment and a bar set. All she
needs to do is place the 1 Right Price of $2910. She
goes for the bar set... and we're three for six! But
Bryan heads to the Showcase round to face Sonja.
First Showcase:
a new bedroom with bedding & mattress, sunscreens, and a
spa. Top winner Sonja passes to Bryan, who bids $16,000.
Sonja gets a really really bad day, but it could be a
good day with a soda fountain, trip to St. Thomas, and a
Chrysler Sebring convertible. She bids $17,000. Actual
price... $39,568. Well, at least it's not an overbid.
Actual price of Bryan's Showcase: $21,737. Bryan's the
big winner with $22,486.
Stats: 3 for 6,
$70363, and this advice: "Brush, floss, play Plinko." |

Host: Ryan Cabrera |

Rocky
(21,
Tacoma, WA; grocery checker); sax player, loves
Usher and considers himself a romantic |
|
Arize
(23, Nigeria; guitarist); also loves Usher,
influenced by African tradition |
|
Kat
(24;
Pomona, CA; belly dancer); loves to write poetry,
raps, likes "Punk'd" |
I can make the
obvious Akon joke here, but I'll just shake off a few of
Kat's words: Kat, rapper, yoga, and healer. To the
winner goes the spoils, in the form of a trip to Puerto
Vallarta.
First in the writing room,
Arize wants to establish an emotional collection using tropical
R&B (see: Shaggy plus Usher plus Ryan). Rocky has no idea what
tempo he wants, but he knows that the chorus is vampy. Ryan's
notes on Arize: really cool style, will bring something new to the
show.
That's switch. Rocky keeps
f-ing up, so he says. It's hard to trust lyrics before he writes 'em.
Arize has a melody and the first verse. Now he has to control
straining. Ryan's notes on Rocky: wasn't expecting an R&B voice
out of Rocky, but it works.
Kat shakes it to the
screen, while Rocky goes on stage with "Treat You Like a Queen".
Definitely Usherish (the fast Usher, not the slower). "I loved the
way he talked about my inner and outer beauty."
The crowd liked it, but
Arize can do better with "One Day", replete with bongos. "I loved
it. I was shaking my hips."
It's always a tough
decision, but this time it goes to... Arize. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |

Yesterday, Stephen
Shively & Tina Berasley (Carmel, NY) made it to the
$4,000 level, lifelines intact. As Play To Pay For Your
Wedding Week continues, will they be able to go all the
way to the million?
On yesterday's show, Meredith noted that Stephen didn't
look like he was having fun, but he accounts that to
nervousness. Yeah, the hot seat can do that to a person.
But then, the pot is stirred a bit, so to speak, as
Stephen mentions that he prefers to be quite neat, but
Tina doesn't seem to like hangers. Soon enough, they
stop talking about that and just continue the game, with
this $8,000 question...
Found on divers' watches, a depth meter determines
underwater depth by measuring what?
A: Sound waves
B: Water temperature
C: Visible light
D: Water pressure
Stephen & Tina are both leaning towards D, but they're
not sure enough, so they ask the audience. 88% of the
studio audience and 73% of the AIM users pick D. So the
couple goes with that... and they're right! Then, they
continue on through a couple more questions, including
one which asks what "Ferberizing", a popular though
controversial method developed by Dr. Richard Ferber,
teaches babies to do (go to sleep), to get to $25,000.
After the break, they get the $1,000 gift certificate
from Kohl's, which they'll have regardless of what
happens, before getting to the $50,000 question, which
asks in what country is it customary for brides to place
lumps of sugar in their gloves to ensure a "sweet" life.
They use the 50:50 to narrow it down to Egypt or Greece,
but they're still not sure enough (it's Greece), so they
switch it out for this alternate question for $50,000...
In Pamplona's Running of the Bulls festival, how many
bulls run the streets each day?
A: 6
B: 10
C: 15
D: 24
Stephen & Tina decide to call Tina's father, John, but
the best he could do is a guess that it's either A or B.
They then decide to take a guess (nothing to lose at
this level), and say B... but it's A! Well, at least
they have $25,000 to take home.
The next couple is Cason Moore & Meghan Serkes (New
York, NY), and when they get married depends on how they
do here, as Meghan puts it. When they met, Cason
happened to be down to just 17¢. So he got a job at a
restaurant that she happened to work at. And now they're
here to try to earn a million dollars. They start by
knowing that a traditional wedding vow often features
the promise to love one another "in sickness and in
health" (it would also help to love one another in
football season, but that's another matter). Cason &
Meghan move along quite well, going through questions
like one which asks what part of the carrot plant is
usually eaten (root), before reaching this for
$16,000...
Named for the French widow who first produced it, Veuve
Clicquot is a popular but pricey brand of what?
A: Chocolate
B: Champagne
C: Cheese
D: Sparkling water
Cason & Meghan ask the audience, and 48% of the studio
audience says B, while 45% of the AIM users agree. They
go for it and lock in B... and they're up to $16,000!
And there's the horn. Play To Pay For Your Wedding Week
will conclude tomorrow, as Cason & Meghan attempt to win
more.
Just a reminder that the contest at www.theknot.com/millionaire
is still going as of this writing, with a trip to Hawaii
on the line. And if you missed it, this is today's
sweepstakes question...
What is the name for the porcelain-like icing that is
commonly rolled out and draped over wedding cakes?
A: Meringue
B: Buttercream
C: Ganache
D: Fondant |
