Host: Richard Karn |
|

Team Naughty
(Jess Walton - Y&R, Kimberlin Brown - Y&R, Ronn Moss
- B&B, Lauren Koslow - Days, Jane Elliot - GH) for
Grief Recovery Institute |
|
Team Nice
(Doug Davidson - Y&R, Tracey Bregman - Y&R, Lorenzo
Lamas - B&B, Austin Peck - Days, Scott Clifton - GH)
for Kyle Edge's Soccer Club |
The Parsons get
a week's break, as we welcome the badasses and the good
guys of daytime television on the Feud's Soap Opera
Special. And in case we haven't said it before... Doug's
been around the Feud so long that he's probably in line
to replace Richard one of these years. Round 1: 100
women, a place where a cheap date might take you (7).
Doug gets a bar, #4. Jess goes to Mickey D's, #1. But
the Badasses can only think of movies, so we go to Team
Nice for "to coffee". Not there, the Naughties get 82.
Other answer: to the park, home, zoo, mall
Round 2:
something you need to make a perfect margarita (6). Of
course, tequila's number one, courtesy Kimberlin. You
also need salt, lime, ice, and a blender. But what does
Team Nice think? "The sweet-and-sour mix." There it is
for 90.
Double Round:
something you couldn't do without... (5). Ronn
jumps the gun with water. The rest of the question: ...
your lips. Lorenzo gets #1, kiss. Talk, whistle, eat,
and drink round it out for 262.
Triple Round:
what do you think is the easiest pet to take care of
(4)? Austin gets the top with a cat. Fish is up there,
but the Naughties try bird for the steal. The bird does
it for the win, 319-262. Other answer: dog.
Jess & Jane take
on the Fast Money board. Jane gets all the number ones
(save for the most enjoyable awards show on TV, the
Grammys) for 149. Jess picks up the Grammys for the win,
$20,000 to the Grief Recovery Institute. |

The
Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
|
It's a new week,
and a new fridge/freezer for Sharon Erickson who gets to
try for 2 for the Price of 1. The two: a desk and a pair
of motorcycles, so it's like 3 for the Price of 1.
Semantics aside, she thinks the desk is $536. It's $532.
Daniel Owens gets
himself a CD/DVD sound system and a chance to putt a
Hole in One (or Two) for a Chevrolet Colorado. The
products: Aspercreme, Starburst chews, Citracal, Duck
fridge liner, Johnson's body lotion, and Carnation
malted milk. He goes chews, fridge liner, malted milk,
lotion, cream, and Citracal, and is stopped at the
cream, meaning he'll putt from line 4. Bob's putt from
the back... in the hole. Daniel's putt from #4... in the
hole.
Sport tubes are
on offer in round 3, as John Wagner wins them and a
chance at a hot tub. They won't fit, but anyway... The
game is Freeze Frame, and John freezes the frame at
$4483. Actual price: $5125. No hot tub, and no Showcase
either. That goes to Daniel.
Lucy Anders
kicks off the second half with a wine cooler. Now she's
charged with linking the Secret X for a trip to Cabo San
Lucas and writing instruments. The free X goes in top
left. The X from a DVD of "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"
goes bottom right. The secret X... is dead center.
That's a win!
Carolyn Kooch
gets a wood stove in round 5, but can't Cover Up
correctly for a Ford Focus. Oh well.
Lastly, Juan
Hernandez of the US Marines gets a set of backpacking
equipment and a chance at a gas grill, a home gym, and a
day bed with mattress. All he has to do is figure out
which one is the Most Expensive. He goes for the gym.
The grill is $1299. The day bed is $1230. The gym is
$2499. That's a win, but it's Lucy who'll meet Daniel at
the Showcase...
... which begins
with a living room with carpeting, a plasma TV, and a
petit-grand piano. Top winner Daniel passes to Lucy, who
bids $14,050. Daniel, meanwhile, watches as Mother Time
has a hissy fit with Father Time. The subjects: a
grandfather clock, a trip to London, and a Pontiac Grand
Prix. He bids $27,464. Actual price: $34,442, a
difference of $6978. The actual price of Lucy's
Showcase: $21,263, a difference of $7213. Another small
margin, but Daniel pulls it off for $57,986.
Stats: 3/6,
$70,543. |

Host: Ryan Cabrera |

Daniel
(18;
Lake Elsinore, CA; sings for a band called Next in
Line); lives, breathes, sleeps music. |
|
Dane
(19; Aurora, CA; bassist); believes music is an art,
thinks that he's one of the best, describes music as
"folk/pop/rock" |
|
Alison (24;
Los Angeles; traveler); likes to travel to obscure
places, has a puppy. |
If you can put
four words in a song and make it sound right, you could
travel with a traveler to Puerto Vallarta. Alison's
words: Alison, Buddy (her dog), drive, Sri Lanka (where
she wants to go).
Your eight hours start...
now. First in the writing room, Daniel shares his idears. Ryan
says that it needs to be more upbeat, retraining his voice.
Meanwhile Dane thinks about a laid back lounging song. Could work.
Ryan's notes on Daniel: still struggling with his voice, needs to
let it all out.
Maybe a switch'll help.
Daniel describes the song as emo/pop/punk. In other words, an
earworm the likes of Maroon 5. Dane finetunes lyrics in the
writing room so they actually match the guitar backing. Ryan's
notes: really chill, but he's got to do something special.
One stage, one lady, two
singers. First up, Daniel with a yet to be titled ditty
(eventually titled "Please Pick Me"), which sounds like a very
cheap Bowling for Soup imitation... VERY cheap. That was just
product. "I was definitely digging it." Okay...
Dane has a chance with
"Painted Skies", which surprisingly doesn't sound like anything
else. Not like Daniel, at least. Probably one of the better songs
this series. "I love it. His voice is beautiful." Hard decision.
And the decision goes
to... Dane. And they both get a serenade off to Puerto Vallarta by
Ryan, because that's how they do on "Score." |

restaurant WOF salutes is Brennan's. It has been in
business since 1946. It is the home of Bananas Foster.
And we leave as Vanna and Pat eat this delicious
dessert. Here is the recipe...and if you don't want it
here...get it from wheelof fortune.com!
CHEF NAME: LAZONE RANDOLPH
DISH: BANANAS FOSTER
Recipe Bananas Foster
* ¼ cup (½ stick) butter
* 1 cup brown sugar
* ½ teaspoon cinnamon
* ¼ cup banana liqueur
* 4 bananas, cut in half
* lengthwise, then halved
* ¼ cup dark rum
* 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
Combine the butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a flambé pan
or skillet. Place the pan over low heat either on an
alcohol burner or on top of the stove, and cook,
stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the banana
liqueur, then place the bananas in the pan. When the
banana sections soften and begin to brown, carefully add
the rum. Continue to cook the sauce until the rum is
hot, then tip the pan slightly to ignite the rum. When
the flames subside, lift the bananas out of the pan and
place four pieces over each portion of ice cream.
Generously spoon warm sauce over the top of the ice
cream and serve immediately. |

Who

Time to break out
the double hot seat; it's time for Play To Pay For Your
Wedding Week! For those unfamiliar with this type of
theme week, engaged couples will each take a shot at the
15-question ladder in the hopes of winning a million
dollars to, well, pay for their weddings.
First up are David Wieland & Sarah Badics (Chicago, IL).
They met at a party while they were students at the
University of Notre Dame, and now, they plan to get
married in October 2006. And though it's still a while
away, they could use the money. They start by knowing
that during the wedding reception, the bride and groom
traditionally feed each other the first pieces of cake.
David & Sarah then move along smoothly, answering
questions like one that asks what retailer kicks off the
holidays by unveiling a multimillion-dollar "Fantasy
Bra" in its Christmas catalog (Victoria's Secret). After
a commercial break taken when they're at $8,000, David &
Sarah receive a $1,000 gift certificate from Kohl's,
which they get to keep no matter what. Then, eventually,
they get to this $25,000 question...
What was the outcome of the historic 1804 duel between
Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton?
A: Burr was killed
B: Hamilton was killed
C: Neither man was killed
D: Both men were killed
Sarah begins to remember a commercial from a while ago
involving peanut butter, but she and David decide to ask
the audience. 42% of the studio audience says B, but
with the AIM poll, B and C are tied at 30% each. Sarah
then explains the commercial, where a guy was called by
a radio show to answer a question asking who killed
Hamilton, but the guy had trouble answering "Aaron Burr"
due to peanut butter in his mouth. Because of this, she
was leaning towards B. But they're still not sure
enough, so they use the 50:50, which leaves B and D.
Then, after further consideration, they go for it, and
say B... and they have $25,000! Another question later,
and they see this for $100,000...
What country is named after a nearly-extinct tree that
was once the source of a valuable red dye?
A: Peru
B: Cuba
C: Brazil
D: Haiti
David & Sarah have no idea, and they're not sure if
anyone on their Phone-a-Friend list would know, so they
switch it out. We find out that the answer was C, then
after a commercial break, this substitute $100,000
question appears...
To end the Cuban missile crisis, the U.S. agreed to
remove its nuclear missiles from what country?
A: Finland
B: Turkey
C: West Germany
D: Greece
David is smiling, because he is 95% sure that it's B.
After quickly conferring with Sarah, they go for it and
say B... and they're at $100,000!
And that's all for today. David & Sarah will return
tomorrow, with 3 questions left and 1 lifeline (the
Phone-a-Friend) still available.
But wait! There's a contest going all this week, where
you can win a week-long trip to Hawaii! (You gotta be a
U.S. resident, though.) You just have to go to
www.theknot.com/millionaire and answer one of the
questions given at the end of any of this week's
episodes to enter the draw. And in case you missed it,
here's the first one...
What is the color of a traditional Chinese wedding
dress?
A: Blue
B: Gold
C: Green
D: Red |
