Burton Richardson makes
a scary vampire. Keep that thought in your mind as we

(5). Casey gets #4, a haunted house, but Desiree gets
#1, the movies. Hospital, amusement park, and a baseball
game round out the board for 91.
Round 2: one character
in one of Shakespeare's plays (5). Kimette gets the top
with Hamlet. Romeo, MacBeth, Othello, and Juliet tie the
game up at 91.
Double Round: a place
were you might see a dead body (5). Cher'ron gets #3, a
grave site. Gidget gets #2, a funeral. Mark gets #1, a
morgue. Jayme gets #5, a movie. Bobos get a chance to
steal with a crime scene. Not there! The Senerchias get
267. Other answer: river.
Triple Round: in a
horror movie, a tool that might be used to kill someone (4).
Inous gets #2, an axe. Margie gets #1, a knife. A
chainsaw and a gun round it out for the Bobos,
367-267... and the bells toll for the Senerchias.
Despite the first round
ending in utter heartache on Friday, Casey & Kimette are
going for the Fast Money again. Kimette gets 138. Casey
is scary good for the $20,000, giving them $20,880 for
two days' servitude.

|
Steve Ostini
(radio broadcast producer from Santa Clarita, CA) |
Is Salt Lake City poised
to turn out another superchamp, or will Joey find
another way to send his challengers packing? Joey starts with $200
On the Map. So far, Joey is trying to hold his own
against Maria, who has $4400 to his $3200 at the TV time
out. Steve has $200.
There's a First Time for
Everything, so the category says, and this is the first
time we see a Daily Double, under $600. He bets $1500 on
the overture first heard in 1829, and first used as a
radio show's theme in 1933. "What is the William Tell
Overture?" Right for $5500. He moves up to $5900 at the
half to Maria's $5500. Steve, still at deuces, starts
Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400
"M"usic, where we find the first Daily Double of this
round, a video under $1200. Joey, at $5500, fronts $1000.
The clue: renowned Australian diva seen here around
1900. "Who is Maria Callas?" Not even close. She wasn't
even Australian. She's Dame Nellie Melba, as Joey drops
to $4500. Maria has a chance to catch Joey with the
second Daily Double under $1200 New World Explorers.
She's going for it on this: in April 1524 he sighted the
Hudson River; his bridge hadn't been built yet. "Who is
Verrazano?" She doubles up to $12,400! Last clue remains
hidden, as Maria takes the lead, $18,000 to Joey's
$14,100. Meanwhile, Steve, with -$200, is out with
$1000.
Final Jeopardy! in
"20th Century Republicans": never President,
he was the youngest man ever to receive the Republican
Presidential nomination. Correct query: Who was Dewey?
No one is right, so
wagering is very important. Joey bet everything, so
he'll finish with zero. Meanwhile, Maria only bets
$12,000, meaning that she'll return tomorrow with $6000.
Joey leaves with $50,200.
Very special thanks to

It's spooky Halloween time
at 7800. Here's what the guys and "ghouls" brought to 33
today.
Contestant Patricia Williams, after capturing a
Cedarshed children's playhouse ($1639) ascended the
Turntable steps to play Clock Game for an Ashley armoire
and a Sea Jogger water walking system. The armoire
($678) took her 19.5 seconds plus a clock stoppage, due
to Bob's confusion with her bidding. After winning that,
Bob turned out to be completely fascinated with the
water walking system, even asking Rachel to demonstrate
it. Instead, Patricia won the water walker and the $1000
bonus with only ONE SECOND left on the clock! One other
thing, Patricia is actually BigJon's mother! Yes, that's
right BigJon of bigjonpcgames.com!
Next, soldier (in civilian clothing) Matthew Carpenter
captured a $1400 Clarion in-car navigation and
entertainment system. His game: Master Key (collective
groan) for a set of ice skates, a set of Health Craft
cookware, and a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Carpenter picked up
two keys (#2 and #4) by pricing a sandwich maker ($23)
and a retro clock radio/CD player ($90). Key #2 only
unlocked the ice skates, but key #4 was the "Big Key,"
as Bob said. Matthew's total Master Key take: $15,820
for the car, $1038 for the cookware, $106 for the
skates; grand total: $16,964
To finish up the half, contestant Sylvia Huffman claimed
a highbrowfurniture.com bubble chair, valued at $2530
(that's Halloween scary). Her game: Grand Game, target
$5.00. She nailed all four products from left to right
winning $10,000 like nobody's business.
Second half...eh, notsomuch. The half started off with
Postmaster Ronald Wood claiming a 36" TV and playing
Freeze Frame for a 6-night trip to Holland. Freezing the
price at $5275 wasn't warm enough. ARP: $6727...three
clicks away.
Contestant Vanessa Ranko, the last of the First Four,
escaped the Row, claiming a $999 children's desk. She
drew Card Game (get it?) for a Dodge Caravan SE. The
difference: $3000. She drew 7 cards, worked her bid to
$17,300 and won (ARP: $20,064; Diff: $2764).
Contestant Jan Martin, after snagging a Croton
gentlemen's diamond watch ($600), got to run a Clearance
Sale for Ryobi power tools, a Honday CRF 150, and a
Corsican daybed. The sale prices: $800 (placed on the
daybed), $1000 (placed on the tools), $1650 (placed on
the bike). The $1650 on the bike was the only one right.
Tools $989, Bed $1437, Bike $2014.
On to the Halloween Showcases, brought to us by Mr. Stan
Blits. Your Top Winner: Vanessa (after gaining another
$1000 on the Wheel). Your Runner-Up: Matthew.
Showcase #1 had the dead rising from the grave. The
"Graveyard of Prizes" offered up a stackable washer and
dryer, a Malm cone fireplace, and a Fleetwood Mallard
180FK tralier. Vanessa passes to Matthew, who bids
$24,500.
Showcase #2 took our ghouls to the Price is Right
department store! Our first ghoul, Scarylin Monroe,
needed some new clothes. Her prize: Carabella swimwear.
Ghoul #2: Aristotle Oasis wanted to get back to the
waves. His prize: The Dink sailboat. Our final ghoul,
Ludwig von Schmutzhoven, wanted to finish his final
masterpiece on a Samick baby grand piano. Vanessa places
a bid of $15,000 on the stash.
Vanessa's bid was only a mere $1223 off (ARP: $16,223).
Matthew, however, was thinking too big and went over
(ARP: $20,987). Vanessa's total take for the day:
$38,286.

Ferras Alkazi

pop/R&B, think Alicia Keys... if she were male |

Tami Ferrell (20;

Ryan promises a date
with a hot girl, "because it's my show!" Well, I suppose
if it were my show the girl... would still be hot, yeah,
but not how you're thinking :) In a changeup, Ryan's
taking the bus to meet today's contestants. Anyway, on
the line, a trip to Cabo San Lucas. On the paper, these
words: pig, romantic, sleep, Tami.
Of course, some things
don't change. You still have eight hours until showtime.
Ferras is first on the keyboard in the writing room. And
that's some nice keyboarding. He just needs to put words
to that. Meanwhile, Jonathan displays his ideas to the
bands at the rehearsal room. Ryan's notes on Ferras:
just giving respect to his piano skills.
Switch time. Jonathan
has the melody... and the chorus. Ferras ... shows up
the band. Ha ha. Ryan's notes on Jonathan: he's just
going to rock it with the microphone.
Beauty queen is in the offering
today. Tami is in hiding at the Avalon. Jonathan and Ferras take
the stage. Ferras is first with "I Believe." "That was the cutest
thing I think I ever heard."
Jonathan liked it, too... but he
can be "awesomer" with "Somewhere in California." "I liked it a
lot."
Decision time coming... Pop/R&B or
emo? Tami has chosen... Jonathan. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by

BOO! Okay, now that I have
your attention, it's time for Who Wants to Be a
Millionaire on Halloween! Last time, Ken Schamberg
(Philadelphia, PA) reached $25,000, using only one
lifeline along the way. Can he keep up the momentum long
enough to scare the show's budget out of a cool million?
It was mentioned yesterday that Ken didn't think his
opportunity to be on this show was real until he arrived
at the studio, and security let him in. And now, he has
a good amount of real money, and a chance at a lot more
with only 5 more questions. The first of those is this
$50,000 question...
In 1977, what unlikely matchmaker introduced Arnold
Schwarzenegger to future spouse Maria Shriver?
A: Dick Clark
B: Johnny Carson
C: Ted Kennedy
D: Tom Brokaw
Ken decides to use the 50:50, which leaves A and D. And
it just so happened that he was originally leaning
towards one of the choices that were removed. So, he
switches that question out. We find out that the answer
was D, and in comes this...
Of the four most populous U.S. states, how many
currently have Republican governors?
A: 1
B: 2
C: 3
D: 4
Ken is aware of 2 that have Republican governors (New
York and California), but he's apparently not sure
enough about the others, so he calls a friend and former
neighbour, Tina. She goes through the 2 that Ken already
mentioned beforehand, but then, time runs out. Not much
help there. So, with a free guess, Ken says B... but
it's D! (Texas and Florida were the others, and they
also have Republican governors.) But hey, Ken does have
$25,000 to take home!
Next up is Tyler Walz (New York, NY). He's an actor, who
was on the road for a bit with a touring company as an
understudy for both leads in a play. Getting right to
it, his first question happens to be Halloween related,
asking what kids use to snatch apples from the water
when bobbing for them, and he knows that they use their
teeth (though the Force would be more likely if there
was such an activity in Star Wars). Tyler continues
rolling along past various questions like one which asks
what the abbreviation "BRB" stands for in Internet chat
lingo (be right back), before reaching this $16,000
question...
Patented in 1909 by Leo Baekeland, Bakelite was the
world's first entirely synthetic version of what
material?
A: Ceramic
B: Fabric
C: Rubber
D: Plastic
Tyler decides to ask the audience, and both sets are
close. In the studio poll, 43% says A and 39% says D. In
the AIM poll, 33% says A and 28% says D, while 27% says
C. A leads both polls, though, so Tyler goes with
that... but it's not A! It's D! Ouch. Oh well, he does
have $1,000.
Let's see how Mark O'Byrne (New York, NY) does. He's a
tour guide, and among the many things he knows about New
York City, he knows that the Empire State Building is
1,250 feet tall; 1,454 if you include the antenna.
Mark's first question is also Halloween related, and it
asks what wearing a white sheet on the head is a common,
economical way to dress up as. And Mark knows that it's
a ghost (though some could probably mistake it for a
load of laundry). He then goes through a bunch of other
questions, before getting to this for $8,000...
In 2005, what TV series shocked fans by killing off a
key member of the Fisher family three episodes before
its finale?
A: NYPD Blue
B: Queer as Folk
C: Third Watch
D: Six Feet Under
Mark asks the audience, and things turn out better this
time. 81% of the studio audience says D, and so does 50%
of the AIM users. Mark agrees with them... and they're
right! He then uses the 50:50 to help figure out that
coffee beans are actually the pits of a coffee cherry,
to get to $16,000!
GAH! The horn! Looks like the show is done for this
Halloween. Mark will return tomorrow. |
