Bobo
(Casey, Kimette,
Cher'ron, Inous, Margie) |
|
Dinapoli
(Danielle, Mandi, Karen, Samantha, Michael) from
Allentown, PA; $20,640, two days |
Don't look now, but it's
the return of the Pizza Hut Feud. If you're not hungry
now, you will be by the time I'm done with you. :) Also
don't look now, but the Bobos have taken advantage of a
technical fault, resulting in a rematch! Round 1: on
which day of the year are most pizzas delivered (6)?
Casey gets #1, Super Bowl Sunday. All the family can
come up with is New Year's Eve. The Dinapolis can steal
with birthday. Not there, and the Bobos get 61. Other
answers: Good Friday, Christmas, Halloween (said!),
Memorial Day.
Round 2: if he wasn't an
actor, what job would you think Sylvester Stallone would
be good for (6)? Mandi gets the top of the board with
boxer. Rest of the family chimes in with police officer,
athletic trainer, bouncer, and politician. Can the Bobos
steal with mechanic? Nope, the Dinapolis are at 76.
Other answer: model.
Okay, pizza break! Pizza
break over! Double Round: something most people only
have one of (5). Karen gets #2, house. Cher'ron gets car
in on the buzzer. It's number one. Also making the
survey: spouse. The Dinapolis go with child for the
steal. Not there, giving the Bobos 173. Other answers:
refrigerator, pet.
Triple Round: something
robbers of the Old West robbed (4). Inous' bank beats
Samantha's trains, 1 to 3. Margie gets stagecoaches, #2.
Danielle sweeps it with saloons, giving them the game,
452-76.
Casey & Kimette take on
the Fast Money board, but the board bites back, giving
Kimette 100 even despite two goose-eggs. Casey only
manages 76 more for $880 and a Pizza Hut gift card.
Annoying delivery boy actor not included. |

Joey Bland
(actor/improviser from Chicago); $27,000 |
|
Alaric Smith
(songwriter/vocalist/graduate from Sacramento) |
|
Laura Henne
(environmental specialist from Doylestown, PA) |
The Second City goes for
a second win today. Joey starts with $200 We've Got Your
Back. After a visit from Wolf Blitzer, Alaric takes the
lead, $4200 against Joey's $2600 and Laura's $600 at the
time out.
Last category in play is
Magazines & Newspapers. Last clue played is for $400. It
goes to Laura. She pushes out all of her $1400. The
clue: Guideposts Magazine was founded in 1945 by this
"positive" minister & his wife Ruth. "Hm. I don't know."
It was Norman Vincent Peale, as she starts out Double
Jeopardy! the way she started out the Jeopardy! round...
with nothing. Joey is still in second with $4200, while
Alaric is still ahead with $6000.
Moving to Double
Jeopardy!, and Laura starts with $400 6-Letter Words.
Joey finds the first Daily Double under $1200 20th
Century Literature. Having just taken the lead, he goes
$3000 on who says "All we got is the family unbroke."
"Who is Ma Joad?" From "The Grapes of Wrath," as Joey
has $10,000. Laura finds the second Daily Double under
$2000 Pair Capita. With $3200, she bets all but $200 on
the campaigners with the song "Hurrah! Hurrah! For Cleve
& Steve". "Ugh. Who are Grover Cleveland and...
Stevenson?" Adlai, but that's right for $6200! She ends
up with that amount, as Alaric has $6400. Meanwhile,
it's Joey's game to lose with $17,200.
Final Jeopardy! in
"Capital Cities": home to the oldest cathedral
& the oldest university in the Americas, this capital
was founded in 1496. Correct query: What is Santo
Domingo?
Alaric almost doubles
up, but Joey is also right, giving him a two-day take of
$48,200. |

It's Friday at 33. Let's
see what went down.
Nicole Kaib takes a range
to Barker's Bargain Bar, where she can win an exercycle
and a lounge chair. The exercycle is marked at $1099.
The lounge chair is marked at $949. Which is the bigger
bargain? Nicole goes with the lounge chair, discounted
$1500. The bike was discounted... $900! First winner!
Tiffany Hamilton can
watch herself on TPIR with her new LCD TV. And even
better - at least ideally - she gets to play Plinko!
With chips from Bob, an MP3 player, a 20Q game, a laser
measure, and a rice cooker, she drops one... two...
three.. four gooseeggs. The last chip yields $500. Well,
it's better than zero.
Jordana Burke takes a
desk and chair in her one bid at a good time, because
we've yet to give away a car this half. We will get that
chance in a Ford F150, as well as an alarm clock and a
karaoke. The game is 10 Chances. She only takes one
chance for the clock, a staggering seven for the karaoke
(she doesn't quite know the zero rule), and one for the
truck! With one chance left over, she's a winner! And
she's also a winner at the Wheel, as she turns 90 cents
into a trip to the Showcase.
The Army sent Capt.
Aaron Close to Contestants Row three rounds ago, and
he's just getting onto the stage thanks to luggage. He
plays Side By Side for a watercraft. Is it $9883 or
$8398? He goes for the latter... and that's a win!
Justin Smith is down and
up with $500 from a $650 set of tennis equipment. Now
he's going for a console piano playing Pick-a-Pair. The
products: Francesco Rinaldi pasta sauce, Flexitol hand
balm, Miracle Gro plant food, Marie Callender's
fettuccine alfredo, CLR, and Jif peanut butter, extra
crunchy. Justin goes for the fettuccine entree and the
PB. Both are $2.99. That's a win!
Lastly, Sheryl Avey, who
came to TPIR to celebrate her son's birthday (this is
relevant), wins a curio cabinet, but loses at Cover Up,
missing out on a Pontiac Sunfire. Would she have better
luck with said song spinning the Wheel for her? Nope.
Bryan goes over. Aaron wins by default.
Jordana is your Top
Winner today, and she gets the option on the TPIR mine,
where the lovely Rebecca digs up a DVD player with
"Austin Powers in Goldmember", a gas grill, and a travel
trailer. She passes to Aaron, who bids $28,550. Jordana
gets a new living room with carpeting & maid service for
a year and a trip to New Zealand. She bids $14,833.
Actual price: $25,282, a difference of $10,449. Aaron's
actual price: $15,156. Jordana wins on an overbid,
taking away $50,204 in prizes.
Stats: 4/6, $73,073, and
four gooseeggs in Plinko. |

Yesterday, Christa McHugh
(East Lyme, CT) managed to get to $2,000 without a
problem. Will she run into any problems today?
At some point, Christa once had a nightmare that she was
on the show, in the hot seat, but topless. She says she
couldn't concentrate at all in the nightmare. But then,
she says, "The worst part is no one noticed." Right...
Well, she's fully clothed today, and she resumes the
game by knowing that it's the rhinoceros that lends its
name to a large variety of beetle known for its
prominent horns. After that comes this one for $8,000...
In 2005, members of Northwestern's women's lacrosse team
caused a stir by attending a White House ceremony
wearing what?
A: Mini-skirts
B: Tube tops
C: Flip-flops
D: Nose rings
Christa asks the audience, and 64% of the studio
audience says C, while the AIM poll sees 48% also saying
C. Christa goes with their answer... and they're right!
Next up is this $16,000 question...
A recipe popular during WWII, "mock apple pie"
substitutes what ingredient for apples?
A: Wonder Bread
B: Nilla wafers
C: Cheerios
D: Ritz crackers
Christa decides to call her friend Bill, but he's not
sure at all, though he offers D as a guess. So Christa
then uses the 50:50, which leaves C and D. She then
decides to go with Bill's guess and locks in D as her
final answer... and it's D! Then, on the next question,
Christa is asked what TV newsman lamented after reading
the 2004 memoirs of his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, that
her sex life was more interesting than his. But she
doesn't know the answer (it was Anderson Cooper), so
Christa walks with $16,000.
Entering the hot seat now is Ken Schamberg
(Philadelphia, PA). Yet, he still can't believe that he
is there in the first place. When he received a call to
possibly be on the show, he thought it was a joke. Then,
after Meredith jokes with him, making him think for a
moment that the whole thing was a prank, they start. The
first question basically asks to finish the title of the
fairy tale "Beauty and the _______", and Ken knows that
the answer is "Beast". He then makes it through some
more questions, like one which asks what scientist lends
his name to the standard unit of measurement for
electrical power (James Watt), before getting to this
$4,000 question...
In 2004, Apple Computer introduced a special edition
iPod autographed by what rock band?
A: Aerosmith
B: U2
C: Radiohead
D: Pearl Jam
Ken goes to the audience for help, and they come
through, with 85% of the studio audience and 77% of the
AIM users going with B. Ken trusts them and goes with
B... and is right! Another couple of questions later,
and he goes for $25,000 with this...
Methane in Neptune's atmosphere makes the planet appear
what color when viewed through a telescope?
A: Orange
B: Blue
C: Red
D: Gold
Ken doesn't hesitate with this one. He goes with B...
and he has $25,000! He is on a roll!
But then, the horn goes off, ending the show for today.
Ken is in really good shape going into Monday's episode;
we'll see if he can keep up the momentum and possibly
reach the million dollars then. |
