Ali
(Falasha, Ebony, Victoria, Cathy, Traci); $20,000 |
|
Rambo (Jack, Angela, JR, Natalie, Jay) from
Dallas |
Which of these families
will draw first blood? Let's Feud! Round 1: 100 married
women, something you wouldn't want to tell your husband
if he was in a bad mood
(6). Jack's auto accident beats Falasha's affair, 2 to
6. Angela spends too much for #1. The Rambos also lose
their job, but gain 62 when the Alis can't convert with
divorce. Other answers: problem with dinner, having a
baby.
Round 2: something you
would bring back from a vacation in Mexico (5). Angela
with the premature jump-in misses photos, while Ebony's
clothes are #4. Victoria scores #1 with a sombrero. The
Rambos steal with tequila... and Jose Cuervo's #2. They
have 96. Other answers: jewelry, Mexican food.
Double Round: an
occupation whose members dread rainy days (5). Victoria
blanks, but JR landscapes for #3. Jay gets mailman for
#2. Angela gets #1, construction workers. Baseball
player is also there, but the Alis try car washers. I
would've said window washer.... and I would've been
wrong. Other answer was sanitation worker. Rambos have
236.
Triple Round: something
people let soak overnight (4). Natalie gets dishes, #3.
Cathy gets #1, dirty laundry. Dentures and food put the
Alis back into the game with 288.
Sudden Death: a food
that's very sexy to eat. This question again? Traci
remembers that #1 was strawberries to win, 438-236.
Traci & Falasha can
only manage 113 after four zeroes for a two-day total of
$20,565. |

Host: Alex Trebek |

|
Steve O'Connor
(communications consultant from Naperville, IL);
$19,001 |
|
Lori Skelton
(classical radio announcer from Madison, WI) |
|
Bob Johnson
(waiter from Wheaton, IL) |
Steve beat the man, now
he has to be the man in today's match. He starts with $200
"Rock" Songs. At the TV time out, it's a horserace
between Steve at $2000 and Lori at $2200. Bob makes up
the difference with $200.
After fishes and
artwork, Steve finds the Daily Double under $800 The
Bureau of Land Management. He fronts $1000 on the state
with the most land under BLM jurisdiction. "What is
Utah?" Close, it was Nevada, giving him $2800 and second
place. He gets the $1000 back to end the round with
$3800 to Lori's $2000. Bob, with -$400, will start
Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400
Cheese. After we're done with cheese, we go to Home
Pages, as $1200 is the first Daily Double. Lori gets
this one as well as the opportunity to make a move with
$1000 of her $1600. The clue: this novel begins,
"Half-way down a by-street of one of our New England
towns, stand a rusty wooden house..." "I'm blanking."
It's "The House of Seven Gables", as she drops to $600.
Lori drops as far as -$3000, but rebounds in time to
claim the last clue, $2000 Into Africa. She has $1400...
she'll only bet $400. She wants in the final, you can
tell. What is the country of Nouakchott? Nothing from
her, as Mauritania drops her to $1000, still enough to
compete in the final, but against Bob's $6400 and
Steve's $12,200, she's a longshot at best.
Final Jeopardy! in
"Enterprising Women": she began her company in
1946 with a skin cream her chemist uncle developed &
pioneered the concept of "gift with purchase". Correct
response: Who was Estee Lauder?
"I have some of her
youth-dew cream on my face right now." Too... much...
info, Alex. Lori and Steve are right, as Steve holds
back to win another $14,400, giving him a two-day take
of $33,401. |

The
Price is Right by Jason Hernandez, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
The show filled with money
and fun has been called the best game show of all time,
according to TV Guide! Welcome to the Price is Right!
The first four today are Janice Maxey, Chelsea Curwen,
David Kemnitz, and Jessica Worthen. First item up for
bids: Fun family camping equipment from Kelty! ARP:
$1010. Chelsea wins her way on stage. She could win a
52-inch rear projection TV, a really nice one, too! She
is playing Freeze Frame with this set up:
99 81
34 10
18 77
90 85
Chelsea immediately stops the freeze frame at $3499, and
Barker calls her the fastest contestant on this game,
giving her the nickname of Speedy. The right price WAS
$3499 and she won the TV!
The next contestant is Rema Dawson! The next item to bid
on is a pendulum swing from Health in Motion. ARP:
$2,095! Jessica won, and she knew it! Things are only
going to get better for her because shes playing Safe
Crackers
for a new car! Its the new Chevy Cobalt. Also,
shes playing for a collection of telephones from
V-tech. The whole package is worth $16,850! The numbers
in the combination is the price of the telephones, of
course. The numbers are 7, 4, and 0. She goes with $470,
and then spins the wheel
and it stays locked. Those
phones were worth $740. Thats too bad.
Happy Birthday to the whole audience! Meanwhile, Mabel
Weadon is the next person to come on down. The four
bidders are now bidding on a 42-inch diameter wall clock
from Howard Miller
and look whos here! Aw, its a cute
little beagle puppy whose name is Mabel. Shes so cute!
I want! If you want a cute little puppy like that, you
can adopt one at the Department of Animal Services in
the city of Los Angeles or at a shelter near your home.
Anyway, here we go with the bids:
Shes jumping all around stage when she finds out that
shes also playing for a car! Its a brand new Ford
Focus ZX3 SE worth $16,090. We are playing Pass the
Buck. Rema must pass the buck with these prizes:
*Ecotrin aspirin ($1.73) & Hunts tomatoes (0.99). She
passed the buck on the aspirin, and shes right! ($2.73)
*Little Debbie marshmallow treats (1.29) & Carapelli
olive oil (4.49). She passed the buck to the olive oil,
and thats also right! ($5.49)
Rema has three choices right now, and she wants #4
first, and she finds LOSE EVERYTHING. Now she goes for
#2, and she finds the other LOSE EVERYTHING. The bad
news is that she has wasted two turns, but now she will
win something! She goes with #6, and she wins
$5,000.
The car was in #1.
Showcase Showdown time! Jessica spins first and lands on
65 cents. She decides to stay there, so now it is
Chelseas turn to spin. However, Chelsea gets booed, so
Bob helps her out, and she lands on 85 cents! Now it is
Remas turn, and she gets 95 cents! In just three spins,
the Showcase Showdown is over!
Anita La Motte is the next contestant on The Price is
Right and she is from the Patty Wagon group. The next
item up for bids is a portable DVD player from
Panasonic. Bob Barker is shocked at Anitas bid ($3546),
and he thinks the patty wagon shes from are a bunch of
gambling drunks! Heh. ARP: $699. David gets on stage
during his 23rd birthday, congratulations! We are
playing Buy or Sell! The prizes are a telescope from
Meade Instruments, a Flexsteel sofa, and a Honda CRF-80
motorcycle. David says he is all business here.
*Telescope ($1570) and he buys. Its $1870, and he made
$300!
*Sofa ($1960) and he sells that thing! Its worth $1560,
and he makes another $400.
*Motorcycle ($1214) and he buys that. The cycle is worth
$2014, and he makes an additional $800 for a total of
$1500 on the plus side, and a win!
The next contestant is Patricia Hausmann! Everyone is
now bidding on an electronic keyboard from Yamaha. Its
an internet ready keyboard where you can download songs
and everything! (note to everyone reading this: I want
this for Christmas!) ARP: $1295
and Mabel barely wins
with her one dollar bid!
The audience loves her as they chant her name, and they
get more excited when we see that she could win a new
car! Its the Pontiac Vibe worth $17,885. She is playing
Spelling Bee for the car. Her first two cards are #8 and
#29. Now she can win three more cards with these prizes:
*sound machine she says $35, and its $40
*hair twisters she says $35 again, and that is $25
*office desk lamp Mabel says $20, and she is right on
the nose!
Her three choices are #11, 3, and 13, respectively. Bob
thought she said 14 at first because of her lovely
Southern accent! She doesnt take the $2500 offer and
goes for the car.
First, we have an A, and then we have another A. With
three cards to go, we find another A! After finding
three As in a row, she decides to take the $1000 and
quit! Of course, Bob being Bob
he wants to see if she
would have won the car. The last two cards were another
A, and another! Bob looks over at Roger and asks if that
has happened before. Its confirmed that Mabel is the
first contestant to get five of the same letter on this
game, but at least she got an a and $1000! (C-Note:
You mean it never happened twice?)
The last contestant to come on down is Derrick Boelter.
The next item up for bids is coming on the PiR train!
Its a new wine refrigerator that can hold 100 bottles
of wine. ARP: $889. Janice finally makes her way on
stage and has a chance to win a treadmill from Horizon
Fitness and a chair and ottoman from Carsons of High
Point. She is playing Switch? The treadmill is $1599,
and the chair is $2385
and she decides to switch the
prices. However, she should have left the prices alone.
The contestants not appearing on stage today receives a
bicycle accessory package, and a dry portable vacuum.
Janice spins first on the Showcase Showdown, and she
spins again after landing on 45 cents. Her next spin
barely lands on 20, giving her 65 cents total. Mabel
then spins on 40 cents, and then takes the lead adding
30 more cents giving her 70 cents. David gets a reverse
start, and ties Mabel with 70 cents! He decides he wants
a spin-off! On the spin off, Mabel got
A NICKEL by
inches! Ouch. David needs a dime, and he easily wins
with 60 cents.
David is the top winner, and Rema is the runner-up
today.
The first showcase is at a hair salon. The stylist tells
the customer to fix up her hair and strut around at Las
Vegas for 4 nights! Next, the stylist wants to put
streaks in her hair because the guys will drool all over
it in FIJI! Finally, he advises his customer that if her
hair looks bad, put on a cap and hide in the woods in
her new trailer! Armando didnt do a good job of hair
styling, but this showcase can be yours if the price is
right! David passes to Rema, and she bids $30,000.
Davids showcase begins with a dining room set from
Magnussen Home. Also, a new cappuccino machine in smooth
brass with brass trim is offered. Finally, the American
14.6 daysailer boat is the final prize offered. David
bids $18,569 on his showcase.
Rema bid $30,000 on her showcase, and the ARP is $36,239
for a difference of $6239.
Davids bid is $18,569. ARP is $21,173 for a difference
of $2604, and he is being besieged by his family! David
won $28,816 in prizes today. This is Jason Hernandez
saying goodbye for today
and good bye until next week
because I am leaving for Mexico in a very short bit!
Enjoy the recaps, and Ill see you when I get back.
Adios! Thanks for watching Atinale al Precio! |

Score by
Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 4:30p ET/3:30p CT on MTV
Host: Ryan Cabrera |
|
|
Craig (23;
Rockville Centre, NY; song writer); writes alt-soul
music, serenaded three girls who weren't into it |
|
Adam (24;
Manhattan, NY; guitar player); describes his music
as different and lyrically driven |
|
Landon (20;
Dallas; singer/songwriter); totally into rock music
and her Chihuahua Harley Davidson, is faithful to
herself |
We've got two alt-soul
writers, so expect something nice and.. well, different.
Which one is gonna get the date with a Texas chick?
Landon's words: Landon, Texas, faithful, Chihuahua.
"Have fun rhyming that one!" You know there's a trip to
Cabo in the deal, so get hammering.
Adam wails on magazine covers in
the writing room. Ryan wants to hear him sing. Meanwhile, Craig
wants to go into a reggae vibe, even though Landon says she likes
rock. "I've never known a girl not to like reggae." Me neither,
kid. Ryan's notes on Adam: he thinks it'll be cool to strip it
down.
Doing the switching now, as Craig
is still thinking about Chihuahua... What if you scat it? Cheap, I
know. Meanwhile, Adam is also hammered about the rock vibe. This
will prove to be quite a challenge for both musicians. Ryan's
notes on Craig: he's unconfortable. He's gotta pull it together.
Okay, time to head over to
perform. Landon makes her appearance... Landon makes her
disappearance. In honor of the occasion, Ryan flashes his
Chihuahua boxers. And we come out with the intellectual snaps
today. First up, Craig with "Mesmerized." He manages to fit
Chihuahua in there. Otherwise, it's very different. Kind of life
if Alicia Keys was a dude. "He carried it." Good job, Craig.
Feel bad for Adam? He's got his
work cut out. This one's called "Hold You Forever". It starts out
mellow (and with the Chihuahua), and then it kicks in. Not bad.
"That was really romantic." This is going to be a hard one...
But the decision is made, and the
trip goes to... Adam. Don't feel bad for him! |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by
Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or
millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |
|
Yesterday, Rebecca
Stricklin (Cypress, TX) got to $2,000, and seems to be
on a roll. Can she keep it up?
It is once again mentioned that Rebecca is expecting her
third kid, but she also mentions that the other two are
at home, while she and her husband Ty are in New York
for this. And the night before, they had some special
hamburgers for dinner. $50 burgers to be exact. Yeah.
Anyway, the game resumes, and Rebecca knows that
National Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (because,
well, Pi is approximately 3.14). Another question later,
and this $16,000 question shows up...
Produced at 36 printing plants across the country, USA
Today's editorial offices are based in what state?
A: New York
B: Maryland
C: Virginia
D: Ohio
Rebecca asks the audience. Uh-oh, we saw this type of
thing doom a couple of contestants not long ago. With
the studio audience, 40% says C, while 28% says A. But
with the AIM poll, 55% says A, while 22% says C.
Considering the disagreement between the audiences,
Rebecca hopes that the 50:50 will help. However, once it
is used, A and C remain. Yeah, I know the 50:50 is
random, but this type of thing just keeps happening so
many times... Anyway, she then calls Ty's best friend
Brian (nicknamed "Bird"), who thinks it's C. But he's
50% sure. Yeah. Well, Rebecca decides to go ahead and
trust him and the studio audience, and goes with C...
and she's right! But without any lifelines, she can't
answer the next question, which asks for the approximate
percentage of Americans that move each year according to
the U.S. Postal Service (17%). So, she walks with
$16,000.
Next up is Heather Steele (New Palestine, IN), and she
has 4 kids, who have ideas of what they want if she wins
the million. One wants a GameCube, one wants lots of
toys, and one wants a trip for the family to Australia.
No word on the 4th kid. Anyway, Heather starts by
knowing that in a classic recruiting slogan, the Marine
Corps claimed to be looking for "a few good men". She
then continues on through plenty more questions, before
reaching this one worth $8,000...
In 2005, supermodel Heidi Klum quietly tied the knot
with what singer on the beaches of Mexico?
A: Eddie Vedder
B: Lenny Kravitz
C: Beck
D: Seal
Heather decides to ask the audience, and this time, both
polls agree. 90% of the studio audience and 56% of the
AIM users go with D. She locks in that answer... and
it's D! She then sees this $16,000 question...
Which of these wartime presidents was a member of the
peace-advocating Quaker religion?
A: Woodrow Wilson
B: Franklin D. Roosevelt
C: Harry S. Truman
D: Richard Nixon
Heather chooses to call her sister-in-law, Catherine,
and she says it's D, though she doesn't have time to say
how sure she is. Heather trusts her and goes with D...
and she is up to $16,000! On to $25,000...
What city's main airport is named for Antonio Carlos
Jobim, a famous bossa nova musician?
A: Rio de Janeiro
B: Buenos Aires
C: Mexico City
D: Lima
The 50:50 leaves A and D. But that's not enough help for
Heather, as she has no idea, so she walks. The answer is
A, but though it's not a million, $16,000 is not bad at
all!
There's not enough time for another player today, so
whoever is next will begin tomorrow. |
