Cooley
(Jennifer, Robbie, James, Lavelle, Phillip); $585 |
| Fox (Walter,
Beverly, Rebecca, Cynthia, Raenelle) |
By the time you watch
this, Jennifer would've already given birth. Good way to
start life. Round 1: something people say is "on the
house" (5). Walter fires with drinks, #1. No more
answers from the challengers, as the champs go with
dinner. That's a steal of 88. Other answers: address,
chimney, roof (hey, it's on the house).
Round 2: a word a dieter
thinks about that starts with "C" (6). Robbie fires with
calories, #1. The champs also think about cake, carbs,
chocolate, and cholesterol. Some good steals over with
the Foxes, but they go with cellulite. Good answer...
just not there. The champs up to 168. Other answer:
cookies.
Double Round: if people
could have a spare body part, something you wouldn't
mind having an extra one of (5).
James' arm is #2. Good for control. Jennifer scores top
of the board with hand. Eye, brain, and heart are good
for the runout and 294.
Triple Round: the worst
place to accidentally fall asleep (4).
Lavelle goes behind the wheel for #1. Work is #2. Can
the Cooleys steal with smoking? No, the Cooleys blank
the Foxes, 504-0. Other naswer: church, bus/train
(said!)
After the ladies fail to
take $20,000, the dudes get a shot with Robbie and
James.. but they only manage 163, thanks to James
blanking out twice. They get $815. |

Melissa Prepster
(teacher from Kyle, TX); $19,395 |
|
Stuart Nadler
(writer from Brooklyn, NY) |
|
Paul Tavianini
(office assistant from Burbank, CA) |
It's been a long week
for Melissa, but she's back and ready to fire again. She
starts us back up and running with $200 My Own Private
Idaho, finding the Daily Double early under $1000 and
making it true. The clue: calling itself the birthplace
of television, Rigby, Idaho was the boyhood home of this
technology pioneer. "Who is Spencer?" Nope. It was Philo
Farnsworth, as she's zapped to nothingness...
But it wouldn't last, as
she leads at the half $5800 to Paul's $2200. Stuart, who
started out in the red, has $2000 and will start Double
Jeopardy!...
... with $400
Quotable Sports. Melissa sticks with the 19th Century
despite a downward trend on that category. Good thing
she did; $2000 is the Daily Double. With $6600, she
halves the level on the country of the Rio de la Plata.
"What is Chile?" On the other side, it was Uruguay, as
she is left with $5600. Paul can capitalize with his
Daily Double under $1600 South of the Border. He fronts
$1000 on the name that comes from a heckler yelling "In
the cantina you talk big!" "Who is Bob Hope?" Cantinflas,
as we go zero for three in the Dailies, giving Paul
$10,000. It gets worse for Stuart, who loses all of his
money. He'll leave with $1000. Meanwhile, it's Melissa's
$11,200 versus Paul's $14,800 as we go to...
Final Jeopardy! in
"Europe": of national entirely within Europe,
it was the largest in area in 1571 & 1771, not on the
map in 1871, & no. 6 in 1971. Correct response: What is
Poland?
Both are right... but
Paul makes the fool error of betting nothing, literally
handing the game on a silver platter to Melissa, who
goes into tomorrow's match with another $22,311, $41,706
for two days. |

The
Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
Kicking off the week in
high fashion. Monday's goings-on in 7800 are as follows.
Only one black mark on today's record. Contestant Olivia
Cardwell managed to capture a $2695 bumper pool table,
then Bob took her to a Swap Meet. Her starting prize: a
Barbecues Galore elite grill. She had to swap for either
a pair of Samick electric guitars and amps, a Universal
Fitness home gym, or a Highbrow Furniture desk chair.
Her choice for the swap: the guitars, valued at $1999.
The barbecue: $899. Shoulda swapped for the chair.
Sorry, Olivia.
>From then on out, the players set their sights skyward.
Contestant Rachel Durell captured a pair of Shizzle
bikes, then went Bonkers for a Great Lakes barrel sauna.
It took her 27 seconds and a little Barker brand
encouragement to win a $5245 sauna.
Contestant Joel Smith, after claiming a $999 Wizard
gumball machine, Passed the Buck for a $16,850 Pontiac
Sunfire. His first choice, #2, was the first dreaded
LOSE EVERYTHING. But, since he had three sons, he took
#3, and lo and behold, there lied the car. Needless to
say, he quit with the car and left the remaining
selection up to mystery.
Contestant Christopher Sole shopped around at Barker's
Bargain Bar for alliterative trips to Seattle (marked
$2213) and Sedona (marked $2860). He believed the
Seattle trip was the bigger bargain, which it was, ARP
$3713 over Sedona's $3860. His total take with a $2000
Jeff Wilkie painting was $9573.
Someone say Bonus Game? Contestant Donovan Clay swept
the BG board, winning all four small gifts (air
freshener/alarm clock, blender, tool kit, metal bank),
and claiming an Ashley dining room with Noritake
dinnerware.
Wait, we need another car. Is there another one Lined
Up? There certainly is, for contestant Dawn Cline. She
captured a very impressive stereo system, valued at
$470, and played Line 'Em Up for a Jeep Wrangler SE, a
pair of Murray Feiss lamps, a Senseo coffee maker, and a
Kershaw Knives butcher block. She lined up the price of
the Jeep ($18,795) on the first shot, taking her total
jackpot on the day to $21,126.
One more thing to do...the Showcases. Donovan (after
winning an additional $1000 in the Showdown) and Rachel
are our Top Winner and Runner-Up. Our first Showcase,
about Finnicky Frieda's trip to Cafe Barker, gave us a
Flexsteel recliner, a golf arcade cabinet, a pair of
patio heaters, and a Chrysler Crossfire coupe. Donovan's
bid: $35,000. Rachel's Showcase consisted of a Pulaski
bedroom with Wamsutta bedding and a Strobel Supplepedic
sleep set, a 42" Plasma EDTV, and a Yamaha snowmobile.
Her bid: $15,000. Rachel's Showcase, valued at $22,502,
gave her a difference of $7502. Huge gap, right?
Donovan's Showcase was $43,788, for a difference of
$8788. Rachel ends up walking away with her Showcase and
a take of $28,645.
STATS: 5/6; $86,996 |

Host: Ryan Cabrera |

Heather (18;
Long Beach, CA; guitar player); loves the Foo
Fighters and Ani DiFranco, cheats on most of her
boyfriends |
|
Danielle (18;
Corona, CA; actress/model/coffee barista); loves
Maroon 5 and Gwen Stefani, has a real soulful voice |
|
Taylor Sergi (20;
Simi Valley, CA; "master of the board sports");
likes to do anything that pretty much ends with
"boarding", plays defense on football |
Two ladies are going to
have to put the pen down proper in order to win a ride
on a surfer. Here are Taylor's words: Taylor, joke,
football, and embarrassing (because he is... his words).
A trip to Puerto Vallarta is on the line. Let's do it!
Danielle's first in the writing
room, while Heather makes nice with the band. Danielle wants to
compare her song with Jimmy Eat World (the working title: "Taylor
Made for Me"). Meanwhile, Danielle likes to keep her music upbeat
a la Sheryl Crow. Her song is nothing but power chords (my guess,
because they're easy and they get the job done). Ryan's notes:
Danielle has a sort of Shania Twain, Pat Benatar thing going on.
Nice to know that señor host has been reading up.
Time to switch! And we have "not
even close" to a song with Heather. All she has are chords... and
she can't even remember most of them. Meanwhile, Danielle doesn't
have an ending, but she still has hope. It comes together on both
sides... but Heather needs some words fast. Ryan's notes on
Heather: the song is starting to shape up.
Let's hit the stage with Taylor.
Okay, let's get rid of Taylor. First up, Heather, who sure as hell
likes a good time, sings "Good Time". You write that song to him?
That's a real crap song, you know? And it's a real crap singer
singing it. Taylor feels it, though.
Danielle, please be better than
this. She calls her song "Taylor Made". I have to say that this
one was better than the last one. But then again, it wasn't that
hard to beat something like the car crash that was Heather's song.
What does Taylor think? "That was awesome!" He has an idea.
And it's... Danielle! No surprise
there. Or at least a good choice. |

Trato

Gordon Pepper, GSNN
Air time: 12p ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca |

We start today with an
unusual sight - someone dressed as a businessman. We're
ready to do business though, as Guillermo gives Jose
$400. He gets weighted - and he weighs 190 pounds.
Yudith the Cat Lady says that he weighed 158, while
Elvira the clown says that he weighs 165. Yudith is
closer, so she wins $400 - which she can spend right
away on the small box. She decides to hold on to the
money and gives up a trip to Las Vegas and $600 worth of
gas for a total of $1,200. Does Jose want to spend his
money on Curtain #1? He doesn't, but he could have had a
nice lawn mower and a storage shelf worth $1,097!
We haven't seen a chasco
yet. Marisela, who is dressed as a giant pumpkin,
doesn't want to see one now. She gets not a Chasco, but
$100, which she can spend in one of two ways - either
buying Vitacilina and what's behind it, or Curtain #3.
Marisela wants some Vitacilina, so she buys that. Behind
the curtain - ah there's the first Chasco of the day, as
we see a stuffed donkey with an old man with a mop on
his head. Inside the Vitacilina - $1,000! A nice deal
for Marisela as she sits down happy.
We go to the jungle to
get Aida the cheetah woman. She gets a packet of money
with $20 on each side, which she can trade for Curtain
#2. She does and gets a nice refrigerator worth $1,095.
The money goes to Roger the sumo wrestler - and now we
add another packet with $100 on each side. He can keep
the money or trade it for Curtain #1. He keeps the money
and turns down a trip to the Chasco Barber Shop, where
the guy with a mop on his head is getting a trim. Total
of the money in the packets? $745, which is a nice deal
for Roger.
But who wants to go
after something nice - such as over $14,000 worth of
stuff? Cheetah woman Aida and Pumpkin lady Marisela both
do, and we have your two traders. Elizabeth wants Door
#1 and Marisela wants door #3. What we see first? Door
#2, where that person would have gotten a trip to
Mexico, a camera and some watches worth a total of
$5,110. That's usually the Gran Trato, but not on this
show. Next up is door #....1, where Aida will get
$1,000. It's Marisela which will get the Gran Trato -
which is a Ford worth $14,685! Marisela is thrilled as
we leave you on this Columbus Day weekend. |

Are you bored of your
humdrum life? Then you better ESCAPE! That's the theme
for Wheel this week. Barry, a pharmaceutical sales rep
and professor, Lisa, a mail services manager, and Kelli,
a massage therapist will do the escaping today. Barry
has $1000 already from the first toss-up. And now he has
another $2000 for CAPTURE THE FLAG.
Who wants to go to Belize?
It's on the Wheel for round 1. It's an Event. Kelli
makes a quick $2500 with a G. But it's Barry with the
solve of PAYING BILLS ONLINE for $1800, $4800 so far.
Eggland's Best Jackpot
Round, and we're dealing with a Thing. And it's a Prize
Puzzle. You know what that means. Lisa runs out on
vowels, and she knows about the RED-AND-WHITE-STRIPED
BEACH TOWEL for $7800... and a trip to a place where you
can use that... The Bahamas! And if you're Spin ID
KF02704, you and your red-and-white-striped beach towel
are on the way as well. So far, she's got $16,095.
Plan your own escape
with a Kia Rio this week in the Mystery Round. The
category: Stars & Roles. Kelli picks up the trip to
Belize with an S, solving BRAD PITT & ANGELINA JOLIE AS
MR. & MRS. SMITH rather quickly for $4250 and the trip
to Belize. All together, $10,330.
Barry gets the third
tossup SMALL POTATOES for $3000. He starts out round 4,
People. Kelli runs out on vowels, solving
GREAT-GRANDPARENTS for $1950 more, $12,280. Another
round, I say! This one's a speed round, occupation's the
category. Consonants are worth $1900. Lisa's your big
winner with PHYSICAL THERAPIST for $19,895.
Let's escape to the
Bonus Wheel as we deal with a person. With the regular
six and HMF I, she gets something...
M _ _ I E
_ _ F F
Looks like a MOVIE
BUFF... Got it! And what does she get? A Chevy
Trailblazer! Which means it's Spin ID time once again.
New wheels to the person with ID FG01160. Both winners

Wants to Be a Millionaire by

Host: Meredith Vieira |

Last time, Melissa Ginsberg
(Great Neck, NY) made it to the $8,000 level, but she
needed all 3 lifelines to get there. Can she win some
more money on her own?
Melissa didn't think she'd be in the hot seat in the
first place, but her mother pestered her to go for it,
and now, here she is. And now, she has a chance to move
up to $16,000, but only if she knows what has been the
most popular purebred dog in the U.S. for 15 straight
years, according to the American Kennel Club. However,
Melissa doesn't know that it's the labrador retriever,
so she walks with what she has, which is $8,000.
Next up is Mark Feldman (Los Angeles, CA), whose
nickname is Big Daddy-O. He has it on his license plate,
and at his kids' elementary school, other kids, even
those whom he didn't know, called him that. Mark begins
by knowing that when being sworn in, a courtroom witness
is commonly instructed to raise his right hand (fixing
the judge's hair would probably be best left to someone
else). After that, Mark easily breezes through more
questions, like one which asks what classic song
instructs you to say its title "a little bit softer now"
and "a little bit louder now" (Shout), and one which
asks what special day has its origins in the Catholic
celebration of Candlemas, which happens 40 days after
Christmas (Groundhog Day). This game show fan makes it
up to $16,000 without any lifelines, before getting to
this one worth $25,000...
"Annulary" is a fancy word for what body part?
A: Eyelid
B: Ring Finger
C: Nostril
D: Big Toe
Mark decides to call his good friend, Dave. After
apparently conferring with a small group of supporters,
Dave comes up with B, saying they're sure. Mark goes
with it and says B... and Big Daddy-O is up to $25,000!
He then easily gets through the $50,000 question, but at
the $100,000 level, he doesn't know what state capital's
name is believed to come from a Native American phrase
meaning "a good place to dig potatoes" (Topeka). So, he
switches the question, and in comes this substitute
question for $100,000...
Upon his death, what singer was buried with a bottle of
whiskey, cigarettes, a lighter and ten dimes?
A: Hank Williams
B: Johnny Cash
C: Buddy Holly
D: Frank Sinatra
The 50:50 is used, and it leaves C and D. Mark decides
to gamble, because he has an inkling. He goes with D...
but they gotta take a commercial break first! I don't
know, but have they ever made a contestant wait through
a commercial break before revealing whether he/she was
right or wrong like this before? I certainly don't
remember seeing such a thing happen. Okay, the break is
over... and it's D! Mark is up to $100,000! Now, for the
$250,000 question...
The phrase "warts and all" comes from what British
leader's directions on how to paint his portrait?
A: William the Conqueror
B: Richard III
C: Henry VIII
D: Oliver Cromwell
Mark still has Ask-the-Audience, so he uses it. Oh boy,
we've seen this type of situation before. In the
previous episode, to be exact. 45% of the studio
audience goes with D, while C is in second at 30%. But
45% of the AIM audience goes with C, while D is in
second at 29%. The last time this type of thing
happened, the AIM audience was right. Well, Mark decides
to gamble yet again, and his gut agrees with 45% of the
AIM users, so he goes with C... but the studio audience
was right this time! It's D! A disagreement between the
polls proves to be costly once again, and Mark will have
to settle for $25,000.
And that's all she wrote for today. Tomorrow is another
day, with another contestant ready to make an attempt to
climb to the million. |
