Craig
(Christina, Emerald, Rachelle, Ryeisha, Shavonne);
$20,000 |
|
Davis
(Dusty, Nicole, Kim, Dusty, Drew) |
Two Dustys.
Unfortunately, none of them related to the Dusty who
wrote here. Oh wellies. Round 1: something an obnoxious
driver does. (7) Christina's horn beats Dusty's
tailgate, 3-6. Emerald is platinum again with "cuts you
off", the number one. The rest of the family gets
yelling and flipping the bird, but can the Davises get
the board with swerving? They had driving drunk... It's
not there, but swerving is! Davises get 81. Other
answer: speed.
Round 2: what might be
the most famous hotel chain in America (5)? Emerald gets
#3, Marriott. Nicole gets #1, the Hilton (of course).
That's it for the Davises as the Craigs get the steal
with hotel, motel, Holiday Inn. That's worth 61. Other
answers: Best Western, Radisson
Double Round: a woman's
name that starts with "V" (full board). Rachelle gets #1
(Victoria) to Kim's #2 (Vivian). Vanessa and Veronica
also makes the survey, but can the Davises steal with
Venus? Goddess of beauty and love.... not there. Other
answers: Vera, Virginia. The Craigs lead, 227-81.
Triple Round: something
in summer, something people like to do under a shady
tree (4). Ryeisha gets #2, read, after the other Dusty
prematurely buzzes. Shavonne gets #1, a nap. Kiss and
picnic do it for the Craigs, 518-81.
Emerald and Rachelle
take on the Fast Money board for the second time.
Emerald only scores 53 this first go around. And Rachel
gets them to $630 for today, $20,630 for two days. |

Elizabeth Randisi
(attorney from Webster, NY); $6900 |
| Zeb
Schobernd (marine biologist from Newport, OR) |
|
Jason Richards (pharmacy
technician from Old Town, ME) |
Elizabeth's back, $6900
richer and still darn cute. But can she take an even
bigger portion of Sony's money today? She starts with
$200 Hard "Work". Jason, at $800, finds the Daily Double
early under $400 Colleges & Universities. He bets the
max of $1000 on the first of the Ivy League
alphabetically. "What is Brown?" Right on for $1800. He
parlays that to a blowout round with $12,600 to
Elizabeth's $1600. Zeb, on the bad side of $1800, starts
Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 the Land
Down Under. Working well with Movie Directors, Jason
sticks with that until $1600, the first Daily Double. He
bets $3000 of his $13,800 on the director of
"Philadelphia Story." "Who is George Cukor?" That's
right for $16,800. Going back to the Land Down Under,
Jason finds the second Daily Double under $2000, and
bordering on damn near impossible to catch, he bets
$5500. "I have no earthly clue." You do now: located in
a national park, it's about 1 1/2 miles long & rises
1,142 feet above the desert floor. "What is Ayers Rock?"
Boo-yah! That's $35,100 in the bank. He leads at the end
of regulation, $37,100. Well, that's an understatement
if I ever heard one. The champ has $6000, and Zeb is
still in it with $1400.
He can't eclipse the
single-day record, but he can come damn near close. Final Jeopardy! in
"Presidential Relatives": he defended civil
rights as a representative form Massachusetts' 11th
District from 1895 to 1901. Correct response: Who was
John Francis Fitzgerald?
All three were thinking
about Joe Kennedy, Sr.... All three are wrong. But
still, it's enough to make Jason the new champ with
$32,100. Elizabeth leaves, still cute as a button, with
$8900. |

1.

HOURS in minutes, followed by GLAZE and the Lingo, giving them the
game, 500-200.
With three letters in
Bonus Lingo, Jay & Hilary get WEARS and ALIGN for only
two. That's worth $200 and two balls. A 52 will

The
Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
The show started off in
fine fashion today. Contestant Benjamin Gallamore, after
capturing an Ocean Kayak ($719), correctly marked down a
PaceMaster treadmill, two Honda CRF motorcycles, and a
Corsican brass cradle in Clearance Sale, netting $9502
in just one game.
Following Benjamin's wonderful Clearance Sale,
Contestant Barbara Chapman captured a Magellan Roadmate
vehicle navigation system, valued at $1499. Her game was
Pathfinder for a Chevy Equinox ES. The board setup was
as follows:
9 8 3 5 1
7 5 9 7 4
0 6[2]0 6
2 4 2 1 3
3 1 0 6 5
*Thanks to Golden-Road.net's daily recap for the board
setup.
Her first two steps, to the 2 and the 4, were right on
the money. On the fourth number, she stumbled...not
once, not twice, but three times. Her step to 6 caused a
play of a stand mixer, valued at either $90 or $120. She
went with $90, and was wrong. Her following selection of
a crepe maker, valued at either $20 or $30, netted her a
$30 crepe maker, but another wrong step, to the 1.
Chapman had to guess the price of a Hummer CD-Radio ($75
or $100) correctly to continue. Her guess of $75 got her
to the 2, then to the 0, to win the second and final
pricing game of the day.
The bottom fell out after the fantastic Pathfinder win.
Contestant Alicia McCoy froze the wrong frame for a
Beachcomber hot tub. Contestant May Taylor COULD HAVE
hit the Hidden Bullseye, but bought way too many
Finazzles. Contestant Theresa Dudley, after doing a
little dance in front of Contestants Row, couldn't Line
Up the price of a Ford Focus ZX4SE. Contestant Rebecca
Murray misplaced the 1 Right Price on a his & her scuba
set ($4227), and lost that and a Johnston Casuals bar
set ($2910).
Then came the Showcases. Surely something good had to
happen. Benjamin was Top Winner, and Theresa, our Line 'Em
Up dancer, was Runner-Up. The first Showcase, showcasing
the antics of Stogie Bear from Smellystone National
Park, gave us a 20GB iPod, a Hatteras Roman Arc Hammock,
and a Fleetwood Pioneer 180CK travel trailer. Benjamin
passed off to Theresa, who bid $15,995.
The second Showcase gave us a Sklar Peppler living room
with the obligatory Hibernia Woolen Mills carpeting, a
Safenet Security home security system, and a 6 night
trip to Singapore. Benjamin's bid: $14,000. Actual
Retail Price of Ben's Showcase: $17,211. Off by only
$3211. Sounds pretty good, right? Theresa's Showcase:
$14,864, and over she goes. Benjamin walks away today's
big winner with $27,432.
Fan Notes: No Dr. Senay (11 straight); Rich was sporting
a light gray suit.

Trato

Air time: 12p ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca |

It's a new month. It's a
new week. Guillermo needs some new contestants. Jose the
walking painting will do just fine. Speaking of art
work, we get...The Count of Monte Trato! (Oooooooooooh).
Last, time, he had a nice prize - but what does he have
this time? Jose can trade for Curtain #1, and what he
doesn't want will go to Rosalia, who has a Guillermo
shirt. Jose gives Rosalia Curtain #1, and Guillermo
gives her $400 for it. Rosalia takes the money, and
turns down a washer/dryer worth $1,098! But Rosalia has
$400... ...and
Jose still has the Count. Does he want the small box?
What he doesn't want will go to Roberto. Jose sticks
with the count and Guillermo will offer Roberto the same
$400 that he gave to Rosalia. Roberto wants the box and
he gets a nice watch worth $575, which Roberto seems to
like.
Back to Roberto, and Guillermo now offers him $400 for
the Count. Jose says no, and Guillermo increases the
offer to $500. Jose still says no and he winds up
with...a jugglers outfit, complete with outfit and badly
juggled balls. Jose is the only one who gets stuck with
a juggling Chasco!
Maria the punk rocker hopes not to get punked herself.
She gets small box and inside is a clown's show. Is
there something inside the shoe? Or would she prefer
Curtain #3? Maria wants the Curtain, turning down the
shoe - and the $600 Certificate worth of gasoline.
Instead, she gets a cardboard doll house and a rocking
horse, complete with a riding clown with a lasso. Maris
did indeed get Pun...I mean Chasco'd.
Ramon the prisoner and Emilia the card player are up
next. In front of them are 2 small boxes. Behind Box #1
is Vitacilina, and Guillermo gives both of them $50 -
with another $400 to whoever's closer to the price of
the Medicine. Emilia's guess - $1.50. Ramon says $2.50.
The Price is $2.49 and Ramon is closer for $400.
Guillermo offers Emilia the second small box for her
$50. She says yes and she gets a set of cell phones
worth $395. Guillermo offers Ramon Curtain #2 for his
$450 and he takes it. What does he get? A new
Refrigerator worth $1,199! Both people make nice
deals...
...but only 2 people can go after the Gran Trato. Ramon
will be one of those people looking, while Roberto will
be the other. Ramon wants #1 and Roberto wants #2, but
we'll see Door #1 first, where Ramon takes $750 home
with him. Roberto will be taking home some bikes, a
patio set, a barbecue and a lobster-gram with a total
value of $2,047 with him - but neither of them will be
taking home a living room with flass tables and a trip
to the movies with a total value of $5,312, which is too
bad, because that was the Gran Trato. Will anyone win it
tomorrow? Join us in 24 hours to find out. |

Last week, Marna Anderson
(Minneapolis, MN) reached the $8,000 level, and had to
use 2 of her lifelines along the way. Today, she
attempts to continue on...
Marna says that she was recently on a date, and over the
phone, she was told to "dress warmly". But what she
heard was "dress formally". You can probably guess her
reaction when she, dressed formally, opened the door to
see a guy in a T-shirt and jeans, holding a motorcycle
helmet. Anyway, the game resumes with this $16,000
question...
What type of cloud's upper layer usually consists of an
anvil-shaped formation called a "thunderhead"?
A: Stratocumulus
B: Cirrostratus
C: Altocumulus
D: Cumulonimbus
Marna has no idea, so she uses her last lifeline to call
her uncle Gavin. Unfortunately, he doesn't know either.
So, Marna does the smart thing and walks with $8,000.
The answer, by the way, is D.
Next on the list is Drew McCarsky (Chatsworth, GA). He
had to use multiple methods of travel to get there, but
if he wins the million, he's heading home first-class.
He starts by knowing that the car rental company Alamo
shares its name with the site of a famous 1836 battle in
Texas. A couple of questions later, and this comes up
for $500...
What parts of speech are usually classified as being in
the "active voice" or "passive voice"?
A: Adverbs
B: Verbs
C: Nouns
D: Adjectives
Well, when you're stuck, you're stuck. Drew is stuck, so
he asks the audience. 75% of the studio audience and 46%
of the AIM users say B. It should be an easy decision
from here, but Drew was actually leaning towards A
(which 10% of the audience and 28% of the AIM users
said). He doesn't know whether to trust his gut or the
audience, so he uses the 50:50. (I have a feeling that
some people were yelling at their TV screens at this
time.) A and B remain. Drew doesn't see that as being of
much help, so he calls his wife Terry. But she doesn't
offer much help either. Finally, all out of lifelines,
Drew decides to just trust his gut and says A... but he
should have trusted the audience! It was B!
Unfortunately, that makes him the first contestant of
the season to go home empty-handed.
Let's see if Drew Blackstone (Everett, WA) can do
better. He's a Millionaire fanatic, so hopefully, he did
his homework, and can get far into the game. His road
begins with him knowing that "internal revenue" is a
more formal way of referring to taxes (though it could
probably cause acid reflux in some). He indeed does
better than the Drew before him, answering, among other
things, that the kids' card game where the objective is
to win all the cards is called War. Soon enough, he gets
to this one worth $4,000...
A strict ovolactovegetarian will not eat which of these
foods as part of his diet?
A: Fish
B: Milk
C: Cheese
D: Eggs
Drew takes a shot at it, and says D... but it's A! He
ended up not using any lifelines in his run, but he does
take home $1,000.
Since there's time, here's a 4th contestant to squeeze
into this half-hour! That contestant is Cynthia Huerta-McKown
(Austin, TX). It's been a rough day, as Meredith said,
but let's see if Cynthia can at least end the episode on
a positive note. She begins by knowing that "and they
lived happily ever after" usually ends fairy tales
(though it does sound like an interesting line to put in
a retirement home brochure). Cynthia gets on a roll,
moving along well, before getting to the $2,000
question, which is as follows...
Of the some 5,800 species of amphibians, about 5,000 are
what two animals?
A: Seahorses and jellyfish
B: Snails and slugs
C: Frogs and toads
D: Worms and snakes
Cynthia asks the audience, and 75% of the studio
audience say C, with 50% of the AIM users agreeing.
Cynthia trusts the audience and says C... and they're
right!
And that'll do it for this rollercoaster of an episode.
Cynthia will be back tomorrow. |
