Endurance Tehachapi by Pierre Kelly, GSNN

Air time: 12:30p ET/11:30a CT on NBC
Host: JD Roth
There's nothing like going to Tehachapi for a vacation. Except one problem: You're on a balance beam with a stick on your hand. That's what "Endurance" is. Teams compete for pyramid pieces which is 13 in total. To earn them, they must win challenges that test their brainpower, strength & balance. Along the way, They'll send 2 teams for elimination, leaving 1 victorius & the other crying home to their mommies. J.D. Roth stands on the mountains which stands 4000 ft. above sea level. The 20 contestants are all on wagon horse rides, and here they are in alphabetical order:

Amelia (15, georgia)
Brittany (15, Louisiana)
Brooke (14, Florida)
Callie (14, Maryland)
Christopher (12, Georgia)
Daniela (14, Florida)
Erika (15, California)
Franke (15, New Jersey)
Issac (15, Oregon)
Jeszie (14, Massachusetts)
John (15, New York)
Johnathan (15, New York)
Julie (14, New Hampshire)
Keith (14, Arizona)
Kendall (14, Wisconsin)
Kylie (15, South Carolina)
Michael (15, Colorado)
Nicholas (15, Connecticut)
Shea (14, Georgia)
Tucker (15, Colorado)

They get off the wagon rides and meet J.D., who tells us they'll be isolated from the outside world with no TV, computers, or cell phones. He also tells us that they'll be living in cabins where the showers are cold, the beds are made out of wood and there's no electricity. (Can you imagine that back in those days?) As I said before at the top, they'll compete for 13 pyramid pieces that goes as follows: Friendship, Teamwork, Inguenity, Trust, Heart, Knowledge, Strength, Perseverance, Luck, Leadership, Discipline, Courage & Commitment. In the past, 6 may be going home, but today he warns us that 1/2 will go home...but he was just teasing, because today only, none of them will go home. They'll all spend 1 night here in these cabins, and off they go to the cabins where it's all based on genders: One for the guys, and one for the girls. They tried out bunk beds, and believe it or not, it felt good. All 20 went out for a swim, and the water, according to Brooke, was really gross. (ick!) Kylie says she is incredibly nervous for today's challenge, but Nick says the challene involves mind over matter. Meanwhile for the girls, Ameila, Brooke & Juile try to form a partnership, but all that can change as we head into the challenge.

Michael, 12, is the smallest of the group, is ready and waiting for the challenge. Today, 3 guys & 3 girls will leave as we get ready for the challenge to start.

TODAY'S CHALLENGE: THE ZIPLOC HANG

When J.D. gives us the word to start, they'll use these zip gliders and hang over the water to add balance. If you fall off, you are gone. If all 3 fall off, the game is over. The girls start first...We get the work from J.D. and...They're off! In under 60 seconds, Brittany fell first, a minute is past and another one is gone, and that's Kendall. One more girl went for the H2O, and that's...Brooke. So, all 3 girls are wiped out of Endurance as the guys get set for their turn. J.D. says it's GO time and we are underway. All of them hung on perfectly past 60 seconds, but one is doing right, and that's Nick. Past the 2-minute mark now, and Tucker is the next victim to take a swim. One more victim to try that swim and that's...Keith. So 3 guys are out of this game and we are now left with 14. J.D. says tomorrow, they'll pick partners, and that's where we'll leave at for next time. Next week, whose partners will they side with? Find out as Pierre Kelly says goodbye from Endurance: Tehachapi.
