Family Feud by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or familyfeud.com
Host: Richard Karn
Martinez (Yolanda, Linda, Marisol, Teresa, Armando)
Killinger (Kirk, Jennifer, Dawn, Lesley, Diane); $21,500, three days

The Killingers are at even numbers as they try to add another $20,000 to their payday. The Martinez, of course, out to stop'em cold. Round 1: an occupation that gets hit on by bored housewives (full board). The pool boy gets Kirk #7. But the champs elect to pass. Good strategy, as the Martinez strike out after getting the number one, mailman. Can they capitalize with "contractor"? Got it. Killingers get 36. Other answers: plumber, UPS/deliveryman, milkman, salesman, cable guy. AKA the entire first season of "Desperate Housewives".

Round 2: past or present, a famous Bob (6). Linda gets wiiildd... Bob Hope's number one. For the record, Bob Barker is #2. Newhart also makes the survey. The Killingers try to bob this board with Bob Marley. No woman, no cry, the Killingers get 114. Other answers: Bob Saget, Bob Crane.

Double Round: something adults take lessons in (5). Dawn dances with the top of the board. Pianos and computers also rally up the bank. Can the Martinez steal with "self-defense?" No. Killingers up to 230. Other answers: parenting, exercise/swimming.

Triple Round: something about their jobs that teachers hate (4). Lesley gets the kids... #1. That's her third triple round #1 in a row. They also hate to grade stuff, the salary, and ... it's up to the Martinez family. Yolanda's a teacher, and she hates the parents. They're up there! So it's 237-230 in favor of the challengers as they force...

Sudden Death: the boss of the family is the one who controls what? Diane with the buzz-in... "The money." And the champs are going for the money, 482-237.

Diane & Kirk try yet again for another $20,000 in Fast Money. A tough go-round, as Diane gets 33 from four questions. Can Kirk make up the difference? Nope. They only get one number one in a specific item that no one pays full price for (a car) for 92, giving them another $460, $21,960 for four days.... One more time.

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Andy Rosenberg (sales manager from Morristown, NJ); $28,800, two days
Mark Barrett (assistant teacher from San Francisco)
Alison Beightol (labor & delivery registered nurse from Lake City, FL)

Andy has twice broken away to the champion. Wil the third time be just as sweet? Andy starts with $200 They Kilt (between "Oh, My Gods!" and "Kinsey"). At $2600, Andy finds the Daily Double under, what else, $600 "South" Park. He bets only $400 on what is surrounded by the Philippines, Borneo, and Taiwan. "What is the South China Sea?" He goes to $3000 in time for the TV time out, where Mark has $2000 and Alison has $1200.

At the end of the Jeopardy! round, it's once again all about Andy, as he storms out ahead with $10,000 to Alison's $3200. Mark, with $2000, starts Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 "Ox" Marks the Spot. Andy begins to show a sign of slowing, as Mark starts to speed up with the Daily Double under $1200 Start Spreading the Noose. He puts in $4600 for the lead. The clue: "Emerson said this man, hanged for treason on December 2, 1859, would make the gallows "as glorious as the cross." "Who is John Brown?" You're in the lead with $12,200! The penultimate clue also belongs to Mark, under $1600 Math. He bets $2300 for the lead again (he trails Andy by $200) on the ratio of vertical to horizontal distance a line covers. Sounds like a slope. Let's see what Mark said. "I'm sorry, I don't know." That's the way it ends, as Mark is close behind in second with $9900, Alison is close behind in third with $8000, and Andy is no longer the sure thing with $12,400. Andy had better be smart about this...

Final Jeopardy! in "Famous Englishmen": in 2004 a top entry in a 6,000-mile albatross race was sponsored by a descendant of this man who died in 1834. Correct response: Who is Samuel Taylor Coleridge?

Mark is right as he doubles up to $16,000, meaning that Andy will have to bet $3600 or more on Coleridge to come back tomorrow... "Who was Lord Byron?" The $3600 is a moot point as Andy leaves with $30,800, handing over the champ gloves to Mark, who returns tomorrow with $16,000.

Lingo by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  7p ET/6p CT on GSN
Host: Chuck Woolery
For two pool hustlers, the hustle continues as "Ballbreakers" invade "Lingo". Here are your starting four...

Semi-pro pool players Ty Yapelli (playing for CHLA) & Laurie Wagner (playing for C. Shepard Conservation Organization)
Hosts Sal Masekela (playing for Stoked Mentoring Organization) & Ewa Mataya Laurance (playing for South Carolina Make-a-Wish and Billiard Education Fun)

What the heck's a DRAWF (dwarves everywhere are saying "WTF"?) Sal & Ewa get DITZY for 25. And on top of being schooled by the Striking Viking, Sal draws red. Ty & Laurie capitalize, getting TRICK. Sal & Ewa play SMART after Ty & Laurie don't... and now Ewa draws red. They have 50, and they still haven't marked their Lingo board.

After Chuck unceremoniously welcomes Sal (who doth protest too much) & Ewa into the loyal fraternity of game show hosts, the two score WHOLE and RACKS, finally marking the board for a Lingo, giving them 150 to 25 at the end of round 1. Yes, Chuck, round 1 is the over.

Break balls with "Ballbreakers" Monday nights at 10p ET. We here at the 'net want it to do as well as possible, since it's a reasonably good game. Ty & Laurie get a C to start round 2. But Sal & Ewa get COURT. Sal gets the ? ball for a second Lingo, giving them 300 to the Yellows' 25. And they're still not done, getting PRAWN, RATIO, and another red ball. Waiting for Sal to protest... Not gonna happen. Hosts win, 400-25, in a debacle not seen since... Tuesday. Ty & Laurie get $1000 each

No, Chuck, Ballbusters is played on a five-by-four circular board. It airs at 10:30 in some other weird dimension. With four letters in Bonus Lingo (one for winning the game, two for each Lingo, and one because this is a charity game), Sal & Ewa get BREAK, LIVES, FIGHT, CHALK, HORNS, and SLING, for six. That's worth $600 and eight balls. A 10 will get them $10,000. Ewa's got the hot hands... and she's got the 10. Told ya... Hot hands! They split the $10 grand.

Next time, two civvies play pawns to a couple of best friends/better enemies from the Great White North.

The Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
Let's get it started, HA.

Contestant Zockie Jawa Mitchell (no, that first name is not a Star Wars joke) kicked things off in fine style, capturing a 65" big screen TV as her 1-Bid ($3299), then successfully flopping in Flip Flop to win a QCA Deluxe Spa ($5334).

Then, and we know it had to happen, came the dreaded Ten Chances screw-ups. Contestant Abigail Hyde gets the trophy for "Weirdest TC Playing (so far this season)." After capturing a Replogle Statesman illuminate globe, valued at $2100, she spent her first four chances trying to win a CD/Clock Radio, valued at $50 (setup: 3 0 5). After Bob complimented her on being a fast learner, winning an $850 kitchen island in one chance (setup: 5 6 0 8), it took her the rest of her chances to play for a Dodge Dakota ST (setup: 1 2 3 0 5), and she still didn't win. Her last two chances were both $23,501 with at least one crossout for each. Bob gave her the card for chance 9 "to keep as a souvenir of the show."

Contestant John Fisher, after capturing a JBL home theater speaker system ($1030), moved Hans the Mountain Climber a total of 14 steps, winning a $6321 Hooker dining room with Fitz and Floyd dinnerware, a Mr. Clean Mop-in-a-Box, the classic flashlight on legs, and a crystal ball sound machine.

Contestant Julie Rake played the "Speed-up" game, Switch?, in textbook fashion. Her prizes: a Murray outdoor pool table (marked $5590) and a Samick upright piano (marked $3500). After determining that the piano was "the higher price," she switched the prices and won both prizes.

Contestant Karen Reed, after ironically capturing a Gentlemen's Chest ($724), drew One Away for a Jeep Wrangler (setup: 2 7 8 3 6). Her first attempt, $18,745, got her three toots of the horn. After changing the 7 and 4, forming $18,925, she got the 5 dings she needed and won the Jeep.

Our Showcases featured the only two game losers, our favorite Ten Chances player, Abigail, and Now....or Then blockout contestant Linda Williams as Top Winner and Runner Up, respectively. Showcase #1, featuring Shane as a hypnotherapist, gave us a trip to Australia, a trip to Japan, an a Ford Focus ZX4SE. Abigail kept it, and bid $22,000. A note about the first Showcase: Lanisha and Rachel were Shane's "patients" and maintained a perfect deadpan, reactionless stare at camera while motionlessly standing in front of the trip cards and prizes. Fantastic bit of acting, you two!

The second Showcase gave us a Best Home Furnishings living room with a Howard Miller table group and the classic Hibernia Woolen Mills carpeting, his and hers golf equipment, and an E-Z GO golf cart. Linda's bid: $15,000. Abigail's bid fell short by a wide $13,098 margin (ARP: $35,098). Linda, however, missed hers by $1662 (ARP: $16,662), and ended up with the lowest Showcase winner total this season: $18,611.

STATS: 4/6, $66,908

Stump the Schwab by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  6:30a ET/5:30a CT on ESPN2
Hosts: Stuart Scott & Howie Schwab
Matt Napoli (store manager; Belmont, MA)
Andrew Goldberg (management consultant; New York City)
Steve Frischer (copy writer; Mahwah, NJ)

Like Stuart Scott says of Andrew, if you can't go to college, go to Duke. I'm obliged to quote this, because we're both Carolina grads. Leading Off in round 1, we start with the top 25 NHL playoff scoring leaders. "Guy LaFleur" lands Steve in the dark at 3. "Bobby Orr" lands Andrew in the dark at 3. "Esa Tikkanen" lands Matt in the dark at 3. Schwab lights'em up at 4. Next topic: 19 players with a pass reception for the Giants in the Super Bowl. Steve repeats, and Andrew and Matt just fizzle, meaning that the score is still tied at 7 for those two. Steve has 6, while the Schwab has 9. Final topic: 25 player on the World Series Champion 1991 Twins roster. Steve is done after 1, meaning that he's out. Andrew and Matt live on.

After Stuart rags on Andrew... again... we take on Who's Got More?. We give you a stat, you tell us who's got more. Played in 40-second rounds, correct answers are worth 1 in round 1 and 2 in round 2. This is a Speed-Up round, so don't be slow. Andrew goes with MLB career hits. Andrew gets through seven for 7. Matt gets MLB career wins, ten of'em for 10. NFL & AFL for round 2. Andrew gets touchdown passes. He needs two to stick around. He gets 10 for 20, giving him 27, meaning that Matt needs 9 in career rushing yards. He gets... eight, meaning the Dukie collects a $1000 check en route to...

The Schwab Showdown. The categories...

Put Me In, Coach (football coaches when they were players)
It's Freezing Gold (Winter Olympic heroes)
Be More Pacific (west coast NBA)
Diamonds Aren't Forever (old baseball stadium)

Schwab and Andrew sweep through the 1-pointers and the 2-pointers. Andrew gets his first strike in 3-points Diamonds Aren't Forever, meaning that Schwab will have to get this next one right to clinch the Showdown. 3 points, Be More Pacific...

Question: Who was a player for both the Philadelphia & San Francisco Warriors, as well as head coach for both the San Francisco & Golden State Warriors? "Al Attles?" "How you know that stuff, man?" Schwabbie wins it, 12-6.

Trato Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN

Air time:  12p ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca
Guillermo likes couples so much, that we'll start off this show with another couple - Jose the doctor and Jacqueline the baby. The deal is child's play - should they win $7 by pricing items, they'll win a Chrysler PT Cruiser worth $15,995! The products to price today are Quaker State motor oil, Fantastik, Pokon Leafshine and and Gorilla Glue. The first challenge - Price the Motor Oil within $2.00. Guess - $2.00. Price - $1.79 and they have their first dollar. For $2 - guess the Fantastik within $1.50. Guess - $3.00. Price - $2.97 and they are good for $3. They don't need to get the Leafshine within $1.00 to win the car, but if they do, then they will get $3 more. Guess - $5.00. Price - $8.97 and they are nowhere near it. That's ok, because the Glue, if they price it within 50 cents, will get them $4 and enough to buy the car. Guess - $4.50. Price....not just yet, as Guillermo offers them Curtain #2 to bail out. They decide to go for the car and give up a nice living room worth $2,481. Did they win the car? The price is...$4.98! They are only off 48 cents, and that gives them $4 for a total of $7 and the car! Congratulations to Jose and Jacqueline!

Does Guillermo have a car for a hippie named Arturo? No, but he does have a money printing machine with bills inside. He also has Curtain #1 available, which Arturo takes. He turns down...$1,000 in the machine. Instead he gets Emperor Chascus Maximus in a very old day bed with plastic grapes and over sized plants. Oops.

Hopefully Luz the female scarecrow and Alberto the mime will do better than Arturo. Guillermo gives Luz Curtain #1, which only has 1 article. He offers $400 to buy it back. Luz takes the money and passes up a refrigerator worth $797. Now for the mime, who has curtain #2, he turns down Guillermo's $400 and gets a nice sofa and lamp set worth $1,259. He shares some silent congratulations with Guillermo.

Will he share in selecting el Gran Trato? We'll see...but first we see if Jose and Jacqueline want to trade a $15,000 car for a shot at $5,000. Uh...no. Alberto and Luz both will trade the sofa and $400, respectively, for a shot. The mime wants door #3 while Luz wants door #1. First, we see door #2, which has $800. Next up is door...#1, as Luz gets patio furniture, a barbecue, lobster-grams, and 2 bicycles for a total of $2,047. The big deal goes to the guy who hasn't said anything - until now, as he says he can talk. He can squeal in delight with a new dining set with china, a dishwasher, a range, and a $200 certificate to Home Depot. The total is $5,147. Believe it or not, he's not the big winner, as we gave away a car today. Total damage - over $21,000. Wow.

Wheel of Fortune by Jason Block, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or wheeloffortune.com
Hosts: Pat Sajak & Vanna White
We are almost at the end of September...and near the end of "Wheel Watchers Club" week! The $1,000 Tossup is ON THE MENU. Jerry Fitzman, a pharmacist from Philadelphia, solved PISTACHIO ICE CREAM quickly for $1,000. Brandon Smith from Lawton, Arkansas is a student at the University of Oklahoma. He won a "Big Man on Campus" awards. Jeannie Whitenack from Linetska, Kansas is a real estate developer.

The $2,000 Tossup is next. It's FUN AND GAMES. Jeannie is on the board with BLIND MAN'S BLUFF. She has $2,000, and we add a trip to Barbados and the Almond Resorts. (It's the same place where "Beat the Block" contestants can win a trip to.) Airfare provided by Air Jamaica. It's worth $6,300. The category for this round is THINGS. She misses a vowel, over to Jerry. He hit the $2,500 wedge but misses...over to Brandon. He misses... back to Jeannie. She hits the $2,500 wedge...and 3 M's. She has over $10,000. The light goes off and she solves COMMON MISSPELLINGS for $9,950. She has $11,950!

The Jackpot round is sponsored by Centrum Silver. The category for this round is PEOPLE...and it's a PRIZE PUZZLE! Jerry starts. He hits the $3,500 wedge...and one T. He misses a vowel...over to Brandon. He hits and picks up the Free Spin. He misses, and uses the Free Spin. And he misses again. Over to Jeannie. She hits the Jackpot wedge...and she solves SULTRY FLAMENCO DANCERS for the Jackpot of $10,750! And you can see them in SPAIN! It's a tour of Spain from Trafalgar Tours! It's worth $7,900! And if you have the ID of VM03514 you are off to Spain! That round was worth $18,650! And she has $30,600 in cash and prizes! What a great total!

The mystery round prize is a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo worth $13,710. The category is NEXT LINE PLEASE. Brandon starts. He hits the $1,000 Cash/10,000 Wheel Watchers Club gift tag and picks it up. He controls the wheel for most of the round...but misses...over to Jeannie. She solves SOMETHING OLD SOMETHING NEW SOMETHING BORROWED for $2,400. And she adds $3,000 for SOMETHING BLUE. She has $5,400 and her huge total is an even $36,000!

The $3,000 Tossup is next...it's a PHRASE. Jerry misses...and Jeannie adds to her huge lead with COUNT ME IN. She has $39,000! And she starts this round which is OCCUPATION. But it's FINAL SPIN TIME...$1,700 a letter tonight. And Brandon solves PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR for $1,700. He leaves with that total. Jerry leaves with $1,000. But it's Jeannie's night with a big total of $39,000 in cash and trip to Spain!

The only way to top that is a bonus round win...and I think Jeannie has the chops to do it! She lands on the U in BONUS. Her category is THING. With her choices of CHPI and the normal 6 we have:

T E _ T _ _ _ _

I think Brandon the college student would have had this puzzle, which is TEXTBOOK. Jeannie didn't and lost a Toyota 4 Runner. But don't feel too bad as Jeannie leaves with a big total of $39,000 in cash and trip to Spain!

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Yesterday, Michelle Duran (New York, NY) had to ask the audience to help her get to $4,000. How much farther up the ladder will she propel herself?

As mentioned yesterday, Michelle is pregnant with a baby boy, which is due in about 6 weeks. But she says she'll need help calming down if she reaches $25,000, which isn't that far away. Anyway, Michelle resumes with a question asking what type of "clause" is contained in a law that expires after a fixed amount of time, and she knows that it's a sunset clause. After that, she sees this for $16,000...

On the TV series "Lost," one of the castaways is the bassist for a fictional rock band named what?
A: Lip Service
B: Monkey in the Middle
C: Drive Shaft
D: The Squirmers

Michelle decides to call Mark, but he doesn't watch the show, so he doesn't know. So, she uses the 50:50, which leaves C and D. After considering what to do, Michelle takes a gamble and says C... and she's right! The gamble paid off there, but she won't gamble on the $25,000 question, which asks who was the leading vote-getter of all the U.S. Senate candidates in the 2004 election (Barbara Boxer). She doesn't know, so Michelle walks with a good amount of money in the form of $16,000.

Up next is Lee Rosen (New York, NY), who is studying to be an actor at N.Y.U. He happened to find a penny on the way to the studio. Will it bring him enough luck to reach the million dollar top prize? We'll see, as Lee starts by knowing that switching TV stations rapidly with a remote is typically known as channel-surfing (though it could also be known by some people as spousal torment). Along the way, Lee shows that he also knows that it's Tic-tac-toe that is played on a board resembling a number sign, and that an attempted battery defines the crime of assault. He eventually gets to this $8,000 question...

Upon her marriage to England's Prince Charles in 2005, Camilla Parker Bowles assumed what royal title?
A: Countess of Wessex
B: Duchess of Cornwall
C: Princess of York
D: Baroness of Kent

Lee is unsure, so he calls his girlfriend, Angel, who is sure that it's B. He trusts her... and it's B! Moving on to the $16,000 question...

On TV's "The Apprentice," what is the name of the receptionist who tells contestants "Mr. Trump will see you now"?
A: Robin
B: Sandra
C: Krista
D: Tracy

Since he didn't watch the show, Lee asks the audience. 77% of the studio audience says A, and 51% from the AIM poll agrees. With that, Lee goes with A... and they're right! Now, to see if Lee can reach $25,000...

Featured in the expression "the whole shebang," the word "shebang" originally referred to a what?
A: Celebratory meal
B: Small hut
C: Farmer's crop
D: Herd of cattle

The 50:50 leaves B and D, and after flip-flopping between going for it or walking, Lee goes for it and says D... but it's B! Ouch. At least he'll head home with $1,000.

And the horn signals the end of another day. Another contestant will sit down and play for some big money tomorrow.
