Harper
(Tia, Avi, Kenna, Gynneth, Anton) |
|
Killinger
(Kirk, Jennifer, Dawn, Lesley, Diane); $845 |
Can the Killingers make
a killing in Fast Money this time? We'll see. First, a
word. If the challengers look familiar, they were
brought back due to a technicality from last season.
Round 1: something the Christmas spirit makes you feel
like doing (5). Tia sings at #2, while Kirk dresses the
tree at #4. Kenna gets #1, the gifts. Anton gets #5,
baking. Can the champs steal with the church? Nope.
Harpers remember how this goes; they get the 74. Other
answer: dancing/partying.
Round 2: something that
starts with the word "pay" (6). Avi gets #2, payday.
Jennifer does her one better with paycheck. Rest of the
family gets... not much else. The Harpers try "Payless".
Shoes, up there? Yes! They get 134. Other answers:
payment, payback, Paypal.
Double Round: a
celebrity that is hounded by the paparazzi (5). Kenna
gets #4, Britney Spears. Gynneth gets #1, Tom Cruise.
Brad Pitt and Paris Hilton also make the survey.
Killingers go with Michael Jackson. Wacko Jacko, up
there? Yes! They get 128. All of a sudden, we've got a
game.
Triple Round: something
that's known as a blood sucker (4). Lesley gets #1, a
leech. Vampire's up there. Mosquito's up there. What
else? The Harpers go with... fleas? Not there! The
Killingers win it, 383-134. Other answer: tick, said by
Gynneth.
Buy the DVD game, durn
it. Diane must've been practicing on it, as she got 145
from four number ones for "an article of clothing you
wear over and over again without washing" (coat), "on
average, how many times do you kiss your spouse"
(three), "a superhero that doesn't fly" (Spider-Man),
and "a country the US fought a war against" (Iraq). Kirk
also gets the job done, giving the family $20,845 for
two days.

Jeopardy! by

Monica Vidrio (graduate student orig. from
Ventura, CA); $8000 |
|
Caleb Whitaker (executive recruiter from
Asheville, NC) |
|
Andy Rosenberg (sales
manager from Morristown, NJ) |
Can the student teach
two more grown'uns a thing or two, or will Caleb or Andy
put her in her place? She starts with $200 Hello
Kitty... and just because we can... and for the fact
that the category has nothing to do with it and we feel
kinda cheated about it...

Andy finds the Daily
Double early, under $1000 Cars. In last place, he opts
to tie on the Porsche model premiering at the 1953 Paris
Motor Show. "What is the Spider?" He ties Caleb at $2200
at the break, while Monica has $1800. She slips a bit to
$1600 at the half, while Caleb moves a bit with $2400.
Andy is way ahead with $5200, but it's the champ who
starts Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 South of
the Equator.
After getting a visit from Crazy Uncle Jeff (he used to
host something like this, remember?), we get a Daily
Double under $2000 Literary _____ of _____. Andy bets
the level on "Kurtz--that means short in German--don't
it?". "Don't know." It was "Heart of Darkness", giving
Andy $6000. Monica, who was struggling the entire game,
finds the second Daily Double under $2000 It Happened
One Knight. Still in third with $2400, she bets $1500 on
the leader of the "Reconquista" until his head in 1099.
"Who is Don Quixote?" Nope. El Cid leads Monica to $900.
That's where she'll end. Caleb has $1200, while it's
Andy's to lose with $14,000
Still time to sign up
for J! tryouts in
Seattle or Vancouver. Go to the website for more details.
Final Jeopardy! in
"15-Letter Anagrams": someone chatting about
preserving natural resources is these 2 similar words,
anagrams of each other. Correct response: What are
conservationist and conversationist?
Monica was queen for a
day... and it looks like Andy will sew this up with
$13,000 in his stash. Monica leaves with $9000.
BTW: thank Mindy Bender
for suggesting the above joke. I'm going to have to tell
her that it didn't work. |

Lingo by
Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 7p ET/6p CT on GSN
Host: Chuck Woolery |
|
I will admit that after yesterday's show, I was scared... That said...
It's "Extreme Dodgeball Lingo" time!
|
Co-host Zach Selwyn (playing for
cancer research) & mascot Dodgy (playing for
Scott Anderson Diabetes Awareness) |
|
Reporter Michele Merkin (playing for American
Cancer Society) & co-host Bil Dwyer (playing
for Glen Oaks Foundation) |
We start off with the
Dream Job dude and a giant red ball (this cannot bode
well). Zach & Dodgy get DUCKS. Michele & Bil steal CLEAR
on a gimme. And Zach & Dodgy say "gimme" after Michele
draws red. Zach & Dodgy get GRANT, and Zach draws the
Lingo, giving them 100 to the Reds' 25.
After the break, we
learn that Chuck and Bil have come full circle, as Bil
"ate it hard" on Scrabble a few years back. Back to Zach
& Dodgy, who score on THROW, but, how apropos is this,
the big red ball draws a little red ball. Michele & Bil
are BEING sniped by Zach & Dodgy with ADDED. They end
the round in the lead, 150-50.
Remember, balls drop
every Tuesday at 10p ET on this very network. Now to
round 2. Zach & Dodgy get TRADE and trade up for a
Lingo, giving them 300 to 50. And they're still not done
yet. They get FLARE. Zach: "No Whammies." That's another
show. COURT follows, and Zach & Dodgy deliver the
biggest whuppin' since the two Marc(k)s back in 2003.
Final score: Zach/Dodgy 400, Michele/Bil 50. Michele &
Bil leave with $1000 for their charities each.
With four letters in
Bonus Lingo (one for winning the game, two for the
Lingoes, and one because this is a charity game), Zach &
Dodgy get GOOSE, MYTHS, FOXES, CLOCK, WIPED, and BARKS
for six. That's worth $6000 and six balls. Zach & Dodgy
are stuck in season 3 mode, but a 43 will get them
$10,000. ... And there's Dodgy with the 4-3. That's
$10,000 a piece for their charities.
Tomorrow, poker players
go all-in against poker show hosts. |

Jocelyn Drew-Harris bid
$1350 on almost everything they offered today.
Unfortunately, it would never pay off.
It would for Sgt.
Salvatore Cavallo, a decorated soldier, who would find
his biggest battle against the Let'em Roll ramp. After
getting his three rolls, he rolls his way to a Chevrolet
Cobalt to take his washer/dryer home. But first, he
rolls his way into the Showcase.
.. Where he takes on
Mary Ann Kirby, the "youngest contestant on Johnny
Olsen's Princess Show". She gets a wine secretary and a
chance at $10,000 to stock it with playing
Punch-a-Bunch. After winning punches from a sound
machine, stand mixer, and toaster, she gives up the
$50... she gives up the $1000.... only to end up with
$5000!
First Showcase sees the
lovely Ms. Osbourne turn Italian with kitchen
appliances, an MP3 jukebox, and a trip to Rome
(obviously). Salvatore, content with just having Italian
blood, passes to Mary Ann, who bids $13,460, a $1966
difference. Salvatore gets to be a hero with a range, a
hot tub, and a ski boat. Content with being an American
hero won't stop him from bidding $33,200, even if Bob
has to be the bad guy in telling him that he's over.
Mary Ann is the princess today with $21,775 in cash and
prizes.
Other winners:
Larry Dixon from Alabama: luggage set; trips to Maui &
Montreal winning Switch?
Muath Alambay: bracelet, $246 playing Money Game
Shelly Lucas: pendulum swing
Donna Frye: grill
Stats: 2/6, $52,217
given away today. |

Trato
Hecho by
Gordon Pepper, GSNN
Air time: 12p ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca |
|
|
We start this episode with
the mysterious woman in black, the mysterious Llerona,
who is missing some pictures of her kids. We continue
with Rosa as Cleopatra and Martita as a potted plant.
Guillermo shows both ladies three boxes - one of them
leads to cookware and a stove for a total of $1,969! To
get that stuff, they have to select the box with the
pictures of Llorena's children. Rosa wants box #2 and
Martita wants box #3. In box #1... a CD player and
Serena DVD worth $499, which means that someone has the
photograph's of the kids of Llerona, and hence the
goodies. Behind Box #3 - not the keys, but a $600
certificate for Route 66 gas. That goes to Martita, but
Rosa has the pictures, and hence the $1,969 goodies!
Who wants some Vitacilina?
Harold the Arabian Knight does, and he has whatever
money is in there...or he can have the big box. He keeps
the Vitacilina, and gives up some power tools worth
$665. Inside the Vitacilina today - $250. Not awful, but
not as good as the tools.
We have more money to
give away, and Guillermo invites Julie the fairy and
Loralee the witch to select one of 8 bills on the table.
Loralee wants #1 while Julie wants #4. Loralee can trade
her bill for Curtain #1 and she does so, getting a new
barbecue and hammock combination for $663. That's a good
thing, because her bill was only worth $20. Bill 2 -
$200. Bill 3 - $50. Bill 8 - $50. Bill 4 belongs to
Julie unless she wants curtain #3. She does not want it,
but then Guillermo offers her $400. She doesn't want it.
Behind the curtain - a Chasco Swamp Monster! Bill 5 -
$100. Bill 6 - $100. Bill 7 - $1,000. Bill 4 - $20.
Julie turned down the $400 and only got $20. Oh well.
We go back to see if
anyone wants a shot at more than $5,000 in the Gran
Trato. Rosa and Loralee both comply. Rosa wants door #2
and Loralee wants door #3. We start, however, with door
#1 and $850. We continue with door...#3, which has an
entertainment armoire and color TV worth $2,127 for
Loralee. That leaves Rosa with the Gran Trato - luggage,
watches and a a trip to Cancun worth $5,070. now Rosa
can be treated like a real queen - or at least feel like
one in Cancun. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by
Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or
millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |
|
Yesterday, Eric Leonard
(Chicago, IL) made it up to $1,000, lifelines intact.
Will he reach the million?
It seems that Eric is referred to at his workplace as
Darth Vader, because he is sometimes responsible for
firing people. Good thing there's no need to fire anyone
here. Anyway, as they pick up where they left off, Eric
correctly answers that it was Jane Fonda whose
appearance in "Monster-in-Law" got a Vietnam vet in
Kentucky to ban the film from a couple of theaters. Soon
enough, this $8,000 question appears...
In 2005, Angelina Jolie adopted her second child, a baby
girl named "Zahara" from what country?
A: Sierra Leone
B: Ethiopia
C: Somalia
D: Republic of the Congo
Eric decides to ask the audience. The studio audience
vote is a little close, with 47% saying B and 39% saying
C. The AIM poll is more decisive, though, as 51% say B
and 29% say C. Eric starts to go with B, but decides to
use the 50:50 first. A and B remain. Now he goes with
B... and it's B! On to $16,000...
What explorer's memoirs, known as "Il Milione," had
critics who claimed it was full of a million lies?
A: Juan Ponce de Leon
B: Marco Polo
C: Christopher Columbus
D: Ferinand Magellan
Eric calls Laurie, a cousin, for help, but
unfortunately, she wasn't able to give an answer. So, he
has to walk and take home $8,000. Good thing, too, since
he was leaning towards D, though the answer was B.
Up next is Jason George (Chicago, IL), who works with
the "Tribune" in Chicago. He had 2 reasons to go to New
York; Millionaire, and the fact that his girlfriend Erin
still lives there. Yes, she's in the audience. And she
says she's going with him when he heads back home this
time. Jason starts off by knowing that someone who is
trying to "make ends meet" is struggling with money. He
then goes through some more questions, including one
that asks what sport's most famous event was nicknamed
the "Tour de Lance" thanks to its 7-time champ
(Cycling). He eventually gets to this question worth
$4,000...
Commonly served with a dill and mustard sauce, gravlax
is a Swedish dish made with what raw seafood?
A: Oysters
B: Shrimp
C: Salmon
D: Scallops
Jason goes to the audience, and 61% of the studio
audience picks C, while the AIM poll is scattered. 35%
say D, 27% say A, and 24% say C. Jason decides to go
with the majority of the studio audience and says C...
and they're right! Then, for $8,000, Jason uses the
50:50 to help determine that the designer label Oliver
Peoples is best known for its trendy line of eyewear
(this could also show doubters out there that the 50:50
is random, as one of the answers he ruled out beforehand
was still there). After that, he gets this for
$16,000...
In 2004, Paige Davis from "Trading Spaces" played
against type with a sultry role in what Broadway show?
A: 42nd Street
B: Rent
C: The Producers
D: Chicago
Jason decides to call Glen, a co-worker, and... Wait a
minute. Is that typing I hear on the phone? It sounds
like Glen might be using a search engine on the Internet
during the 30 seconds! Well, thanks to this, at the last
few seconds, Glen comes up with D, saying he's 100%
sure. Jason goes with D, and it's right! Then, on the
next question, when asked which vitamin is classified as
a hormone, Jason guesses that it's Vitamin A, but it's
not; it's Vitamin D. That sends Jason home with $1,000.
And that wraps up the show for today. New contestant
tomorrow. |
