Nope. Thompsons get 91. Other answer: elephant (said!).
Round 2: to avoid

Host: Alex Trebek |

Sara Terrell
(veterinary technician from Collinsville, CT);
$71,799, four days |
|
Donna Deans
(freelance producer from New York City) |
|
Charlton Wilbur
(software developer from Holyoke, MA) |
Sara is back all by her
lonesome as she strives for five on tonight's show. But
first, an announcement! Alex proclaims this the 5000th
episode of Jeopardy! However, for sweeps purposes, the
show will hold off on celebrating until their upcoming
trip to New York City, where they will tape two weeks of
special celeb editions of Jeopardy! Keep an eye out for
that.
She starts with $200 Misheard Lyrics. Charlton takes the
lead at the TV time out with $4400 to Donna's $2400 and
Sara's $200.
Charlton finds the Daily Double under $800 European
Cuisine. He bets $3000 on this: seen in soups, stelline
is an Italian pasta whose name means "little" these.
"What are stars?" Right for $10,600. That's where he
ends, as Donna is in second with $5200. Sara, in the red
by $200, will have an uphill battle as she starts Double
Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Musical Instruments. Charlton finds the
first Daily Double under $800 An "A" in Science. With
$13,000 in gambling money, he goes $4000 on this: the
name of this class of vertebrates comes from a word
meaning "living a double life". "What are amphibians?"
Right for $17,000! Charlton goes for the trifecta in New
Hampshire for $1600. He bets $4000, and here's Jon...
"Gen. John Stark, immortalized here at the New Hampshire
State Capital, coined this motto in 1809 as a toast that
continued death is not the worst of evils." "What is
'Live Free or Die'?" Right for $19,400. He drops a bit
to $17,400, while Donna, even without the use of a Daily
Double, is leading with $22,000. Sara is the longshot at
$7400.
Final Jeopardy! in "Famous Names": the Grady Gammage
Auditorium at Arizona State University was the last
major public building that he designed. Correct
question: who was Frank Lloyd Wright?
Charlton forces Donna to get a correct response or
lose... but she doesn't. She wins the game with $26,601.
Sara leaves with $72,799. That oughta be a nice down
payment on a house. |

The
Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
Host: Bob Barker |
|
It's the first day of
Autumn, and the last day of the spectacular 35th season
Premiere Week. Here's the rundown of the goings-on in
33 today.
Denise Salazar, Mary Letitia Mata, Dale Sheehan (no
relation), and Joshua Roe filled up the Row to bid on a
Vision treadmill. Dale claimed the $1299 exerciser and
took to the Turntable for her 60th birthday present.
Before it was revealed, she said to Barker, "I hope it's
big," to which Barker retorted, "Some women are never
satisfied." To her delight, it was big...a Dodge
Caravan SE. Her game: Cover Up. The board:
8
2 6
8 1 9
5 9 5 2
3 8 1 3 4
2 0 6 0 1
-----------
$ 1 2 5 4 0
She first started by going with $25,819, netting her
only the bookends. Second shot put her two steps closer
inside at $20,659. With her last shot, she covered up
to $20,159 and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY for her!
T-MAC NOTE: All week, Act I was played to a loss. Dale
snapped the Act I Slump!
To follow, Joshua took to the stage after claiming a
pair of Blackberry PDA's priced at $700. He now had a
chance to pick up an extra 16-Large. Going thru the
bags with much hesitation, his first bag (69¢ Index
Cards) was right, and the second ($22.99 for Dexatrim
Max) was correct as well. Netting $4000 with $1.89
Betty Crocker Skillet Sensations, he was not given the
option to go on. Barker inadvertently hit the reveal on
the $3.99 bag (placed Hot Pockets, real was Thera-Gesic).
So, on his error, Barker awarded him the additional
$4000. Joshua bailed after that with his $8000.
T-MAC NOTE: With the Thera-Gesic already revealed in
the $8000 bag, Barker asked Joshua if he wanted to go
on. For the $6.99 bag, Joshua had placed the
Thera-Gesic. Good thing he was smart enough to bail on
that one.
To round off the half, Brandi Miller picked up a
Flexsteel "Temecula" chair and ottoman (and a supply of
Pillsbury Garlic Butter Crescent Rolls) priced at
$1642. She stepped up to the Turntable to go 30 seconds
for a pair of Aztlan bikes ($766) and a Sharper Image
DVD/CD home theater system ($996). Using four opening
bids on the bikes, she stared her $1 run from $751,
finally ending up at $766 with 17 seconds left. On the
home theater, she opened with five bids before starting
the run from $975. She won the game with HALF A SECOND
TO SPARE! As for the Showdown, however, Joshua's luck
continued with a one-spin 90¢.
Kicking off the second half was Rachel in a beautiful
Demetrios "Blush" evening gown. Mary Letitia picked
that $950 number up, along with the $500 stash and went
mountain climbing for a $9070 golf package (EZGO cart
and Feel Golf clubs and bag). Now, instead of our dear
Stan Blits cueing the Yodeler today, Mary Letitia has
been assigned to do it for us. Granted, she's not the
Yodeler we're all used to, but she does her thing well.
Not only that, she doesn't have to do it much at all,
easily picking up a rice cooker, shaver and golf scope,
moving Hans only 10 steps.
Marine Justin Vargas (though not in uniform) keeps the
fun alive by picking up a Maytag washer and dryer worth
$1668. His game suits him fine: That's Too Much! for a
Chevy HHR LS. He nails the rehearsal callout, but
unfortunately does not nail the game. He calls "TTM" at
$22,560. That's Too Far, Jason. Should have stopped
back at $17,121 (4th in line). Price of the car:
$16,890.
Alright, let's get back on track with Mindi Cohns. She
picked up a set of his & her Cal Pak luggage ($760) and
a shot to use that luggage on a trip to Vienna, Austria
in Coming or Going. Is it $3546 or $6453? She's going
with $6453 and is Going to Austria...and Going to the
Showcases with a two-spin total of 90¢.
Joshua with his unearned $8G's is the Top Winner, and
Mindi is our Runner-Up.
Showcase #1 features our Rachel again in a different
dress. This time, she's in a green toga as Lady Liberty
herself with rejected torch ideas. A dounut, for a
year's worth of Krispy Cremes. A life preserver, for a
Yamaha VX-110 Watercraft. A STOP sign for a Dodge
Magnum. Without hesitation, Joshua bids $26,000 as
Rachel holds a "NO OVERBIDS" sign.
Showcase #2 was your standard Magnussen dining room with
Formalities dinnerware, a deluxe cappuccino machine, and
a Suzuki player grand piano. Mindi snapped up a bid of
$22,550.
Mindi didn't do too badly. Her ARP: $24,240 for a
difference of $1690. Joshua's ARP: $33,169 for a
difference of $7169. Mindi walks with $31,453.
STATS: 4-1-0-1; $78,305
(4 wins, 1 loss, 0 bails, 1 technicality)
PREMIERE WEEK STATS: 15-14-0-1 (50.00%); $569,968.67
Day 1: $296,668 Days 2-5: $273,300.67 ($23,267.33
difference) |

Double: a job where you have to make deliveries (3). A

it up to 181, giving the family $500.
|
Gonzalez (Olga,
Yalexis, Henry, Elier, Randy); $1000, two games |
|
Terron (Sergio,
Norma, Alma, Jorge, Enrique); $500 |
The Terrons are blanking
the champs after three, 184-0. Double: something that
can be killed in flight (3). A fly is good for #2. A
duck is better for #1, giving the Terrons the control.
The Gonzalez are taknig the abstract route and saying
"an airplane" for 188. Four people said it. Marco can't
believe it. But then again, what's the name of this
show? That's right, "What Say the People?"
Triple: a food that can
be made with ground meat (4). Enrique gets #2, burgers.
Randy gets #3, mincemeat. Sergio gets number one,
meatballs. No more answers as the Gonzalez try to steal
with ham.. No! Terrons win, 415-188. Other answer:
tacos.
Sergio & Enrique try
again at Dinero Rápido, where Sergio draws... buena
suerte. Nothing extra. Nothing extra needed. They get
the money for $5500 for two games. |

Who

Air time: Check local listings or
millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |
|
Going into this show,
Larissa Lacman (Naugatuck, CT) sits at $8,000, with 2
lifelines left...
Larissa had already gone through a shopping spree when
she went for her audition. And so, she's here to make up
for how much she spent. Well, she's done plenty so far,
and as the game resumes, she sees this...
[$16,000]
"Adult Swim" is a popular block of TV shows that airs at
night on what cable network?
A: VH1
B: Comedy Central
C: Cartoon Network
D: Nick at Nite
The 50:50 leaves C and D. Larissa didn't think it was
either of those, though. But after some thought, she
says C... and she's right! Next question...
[$25,000]
Which of these music groups never featured members who
were actually brothers?
A: The Doobie Brothers
B: The Isley Brothers
C: The Allman Brothers
D: The Everly Brothers
Larissa calls her friend, Greg, but all he knows is that
it's not C. With that, she walks with $16,000. It was A,
by the way.
Next up is Raye Nakles (Ludowici, GA). She makes
wreaths, so her "busy time" is from right after
Thanksgiving up until Christmas. So, I guess she has
some time now to get into the hot seat and answer some
questions. And Raye gets started with that, by knowing
that a common phrase that means "hurry up" is "shake a
leg" ("Look out for that cheetah!" speaks for itself).
She sweeps the lower tier, then after a few questions,
she faces this...
[$16,000]
Popular in France, a croque-monsieur is a heated
sandwich traditionally filled with what?
A: Tuna fish
B: Chocolate
C: Liver and onions
D: Ham and cheese
Not knowing what a croque-monsieur is, Raye asks the
audience, and 79% says D. She trusts them... and they're
right! Moving on...
[$25,000]
One of the world's oldest airlines, KLM is the official
carrier of what European country?
A: The Netherlands
B: Norway
C: Italy
D: Spain
Raye decides to call her brother-in-law, Buzzy (a.k.a.
Bob), who is 100% sure that it's A. She goes with
that... and she has $25,000! On to the upper tier...
[$50,000]
According to a 2006 New York Times poll, what author
wrote the best work of American fiction of the last 25
years?
A: John Updike
B: Toni Morrison
C: Philip Roth
D: Joyce Carol Oates
She's familiar with the authors' work, but she's unsure
of this one, so she switches it out. After the answer is
revealed to be B, this is subbed in...
[$50,000] (Q)
How many U.S. state capitals have the word "city" in
their name?
A: 2
B: 3
C: 4
D: 5
The 50:50 leaves A and C. Raye says there's Carson City
(Nebraska), Jefferson City (Missouri), and Kansas City
(Kansas), so since it can't be A, she says C... and
she's right! [The one she couldn't remember was Oklahoma
City (Oklahoma).] Still going...
[$100,000]
Known for its loud call described as a "honk bark," the
highland mangabey is a newly-identified species of what?
A: Bat
B: Hyena
C: Monkey
D: Mongoose
Raye has no idea, so she walks. It was C, but that
doesn't matter to her, as she has $50,000!
That's all for this week. See ya on Monday! |
