& her daughters) | Round 1 ($100 per word): connect
BABY with COAT. Steve starts off with a baby BOOM. Warren wears a
SUIT coat. Rest of the team gets boom BOX, box TOP, and top FLIGHT
to sweep the chain. Speed Chain: WILD - W - W - IT. Is it "West
Wing"? Yep. The boys have $600. Round 2 ($200 per word): connect
CONCORD with SAMPLE. Ann gets on the board with Concord GRAPE.
Then comes grape JELLY, but Dave gets control back with jelly
ROLL. Steve spells out ROLL BAR. And why, yes, Dylan, it IS STOOL
to complete the chain, giving the guys a $1200-$400 lead. Speed
              Chain: HEALTHY - L - L - FRIES. Is it "Living Lovely?" Nope. It's
"Living large." Round 3 ($300 per word): connect
RUG with SPENDER. Sue is a BIG spender, but Warren is MISTER Big.
Steve gets rug BURN. Warren burns RUBBER. Laurie spells out PLANT
to complete the chain. Final Speed Chain: TORTURED - S - T -
WRECK. "Soul Train" does it for $1300 to the guys' $2100. Round 4: connect
                        FAST with SCHOOL. Chain: FAST - FRIENDS - FOREVER - ? -
REPUBLICAN - PARTY - SCHOOL. The girls get YOUNG, but
it's not enough. Guys win, $2400 to $1500. Bonus Round:
The guys get Survivor, snake, gloves, seven, Rice

you deliberately lie to save your skin (6). Melissa gets
the big one, the job. Rest of the family follows with
home, school, court, and to the police. What's #6? The
Winthers go with church. Right for 85! Round 2: something a baby
does more than you do (6). Bridgette gets #1, cries.
Also on the board: sleeps, eats, poops, and... to the
Winthers... They say "crawls"... Right for 173. Other
answer: drools. Double: a word or phrase
that starts with "hang" (5). Phillip hangs in there for
#4. Francine hangs up for #2. No more answers as the
Winthers go to steal with "hang out." ... Right for 225.
Number one: hangman Other answer: hang on. Triple: something that
might be described as "loaded" (4). Francine's guns are
#1. We also get a drunk, a question, and ... dice? The
Winthers hope so... Not there! Walls take the 273! Other
answer: a car. Sudden Death: a
restaurant chain that has a drive-thru. That's Kyle.
"McDonald's"... That's a win, 417-273. Krissy and Kyle go for
the Fast Money, getting 145 for $725.
 In the nightcap, the
Clarks (Andrea, Kris, Kerrie, Kathy, Jerry; $20,750) are
challenged by the Itulas (Jesse, Runi, Julie, Jeff,
Valerie). After three, the champs lead, 207-92. Triple:
something you see at a seance (4). Kathy gets the big
one with candles. We also see a medium, but that's it.
The Itulas go with a crystal ball... Got it for 263.
Other answer: ghosts/spirits. Sudden Death: a way you
know your dog's been sleeping on the couch. That's
Jerry. "Fur"... Count it! The champs are still champs,
486-263. Kerrie & Kathy take on
the board again... and hit paydirt again for a three-day

tomorrow? Will both of them return tomorrow? Will
                        Cathleen play spoiler? Sara
starts with $200 Churches & Cathedrals. At the TV time
out, we have another tie. Nick & Cathleen both have
$1600 to Sara's $1400. Cathleen finds the Daily
Double under $600 Parents. She bets $1600 on this:
maiden name of the mother of Martin Luther King III.
"Who is Coretta Scott?" THAT... would've been
right. Instead, "Smith" leaves her with $1800. Last clue
remains hidden as Sara leads the game with $3800 to
Nick's $3000. Cathleen with $1800 goes first in Double
                        Jeopardy!... ... with $400 Words
Within Words, where Sara finds the first Daily Double
under $1600. She bets $2000 on this: that feline
weight-reduction class would have kept Fluffy from
getting stuck in this part of our cooling system. "What
is a duct?" Within reduction, yes, for $7800. Nick finds
the second under $2000 Corporate Name Etymologies. "I
think I'm going to have to make it a true Daily Double."
For $14,000 or nothing... this telecommunications
company's name comes from the Latin word for "truth".
"What is Verizon?" Right for $14,000! Again, final clue
remains hidden, as Sara leads with $18,200 to Nick's
                        $14,000 and Cathleen's $3800. Final Jeopardy! in
"Word Origins": appropriately, this word comes from
Greek words meaning "sharp" & "dull". Correct question:
what is oxymoron? No one is right, but Sara
bets enough to leave her as champ with $71,799 for four
days. Nick leaves with $31,400. |

              | Once more into the
                        air-conditioned breech, dear friends.
Mariel Perez, Shawn Lalezary, Rochelle Jeffries-Johnson,
and Nassim Rad leap to their feet and fill in Bidders'
Row to take a shot at a Sony 42" HDTV. Mariel takes the
$2199 boob tube to play 1/2 Off for Ten Large. Only
winning the third pair of items (a $50 breakfast maker
and a $19 handheld Freecell game), she had 8 boxes to
                        choose from. Out of 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, and 15, she
picked 5 since it's her favorite number. However, it
yielded a big "Squadoosh". The stash was contained
                        within 14.

Shawn, a volunteer with the Beverly Hills Police
Department, "arrested" a Jewelry Impressions diamond
necklace, worth $1935. He took to the Turntable to play
Any Number for either an Ashley Eagle Springs dinette
set or a 2007 Pontiac G6 Sedan. Getting only five picks
in, he won a $3.67 Oinker. The Final Board:

 Car 1 9 2 4 0
 Dinette 5 8 1
 Piggy 3.6 7

To finish off the half, Rochelle made it to the stage
after capturing an Aquacat 12.5 catamaran ($3195). Her
game: Switch? for two trips to places she's already
been...Boston and the Bahamas. Boston marked at $5282
and Bahamas at $4088. The audience in an uproar trying
to make her switch fell on deaf ears. She left the
prices alone and will be returning to both places. Her
luck continued, as she made it thru to the Showcases
                        with a Barker-assisted 95¢ spin.

Onto the 2nd half and the last of the First Four
escapes. Nassim made it out with a Pulaski Casa Cristina
bar cabinet, priced at $2247. She took the Let 'Em Roll
cubes to the top of the ramp for a $14,440 Chevy Aveo.
She easily got all three rolls, netting two CARs with
each of the first two (turning down $3000 and $500
                        respectively). Her last roll: $1500.

One out of four. Not a good place to be. Hopefully, very
excitable Nolan Culver will bring us out of our slump.
He claimed a Vocopro Wanderer digital karaoke system,
                        worth $1288. It's a good thing he's slightly nuts,
because he's drawn Bonkers for a pair of Yamaha Vino 125
motorscooters. The fake: 7 3 4 6. Using seven different
combinations (eating up some clock by checking with his
back row bunch), he failed to go (L)(H)(H)(H) for $4998.

One more shot to get a winner. Spencer Hartfield, help
us out. He got a set of Morrow his & her snowboard
equipment ($765) and bellied up to Barker's Bargain Bar
for a Grill 'n' Chill and a Corsican day bed (with
Loving Care Formfit). The Grill: $1035. The Day Bed:
$1949. He goes with the grill. The bed ARP: $2949 for a
$1000 difference. Grill ARP: $2535 for a difference of
$1500 and the win. Like Rochelle, the luck continued
with a trip to the Showcases as the Runner-Up.

Showcase #1 took us on an Elevator ride, stopping for
these three items: a Fitnex recumbent bike, a TheraSauna,
and a 4-seater GEM car. Rochelle passes it over to
                        Spencer, who bid $15,500.

Showcase #2 took Rochelle "Inside & Out." The gifts
contained: a "Pirates of the Caribbean" pinball table, a
10-day African photo safari, and a 26' Trail Manor
travel trailer. Rochelle thought carefully before
                        bidding $24,000.

Spencer did very well. ARP of his: $17,025 for a
difference of $1525. Nice. Rochelle? ARP: $41,031 for a
difference of $17,031. Spencer took away $23,274.

 STATS: 2/6; $45,080.67

T-MAC NOTES: Before Let 'Em Roll, Barker mentioned that
the aunt of the first automobile winner was in the
audience. Bob, I hate to do this, but you were mistaken.
The woman in the audience was acutally the NIECE of
Connie Gunnal, the winner of Any Number's first $2746
                        Chevrolet Vega Kammback Wagon.

                            | Malpic (Ricardo,
Luis, Albert, Natalia, Larry); $6000, two games | The champs lead after
three, 140-42. Double: according to the movies,
                        something you'd find in a pirate's treasure chest (3).
Natalia finds jewels for #3. Larry gets #1, money. The
Gonzalez steal with gold for 240. Triple: a place that is
congested in the mornings (4). Randy's turnpike is #1.
But no follow-up. The Malpics try to steal with buses...
NO! The Gonzalez win, 444-140. Other answers: cafe,
train. Olga and Randy try again
at Dinero Rápido, where Olga draws... DOBLE!. We're
playing for $10,000! Unfortunately, they only get 152
                        for $500, giving them $1000 today. |

up, our friends at the Enquirer give us this Hot Corner
pic of ... wait, Scarlett Johansson was on yesterday's

video). Spread remains the same as Frank leads with 450
                        to Lara's 400 and Queen's 350. Round 3: "Put on your

building. Lara comes back from behind to win the game
                        with 1200 to Frank's 850 and Queen's 350. Bonus Round for a trip to

space ranger Buzz Lightyear. Lara gets all 10 with three

$19,000 | Leading Off: first up,
players with 10+ sacks last NFL season. Adam is out with
zero. Ryan after 1, Eric after 2. Schwab has 3. Next,
the 16 countries in the round of 16 of the 2006 FIFA
World Cup. Schwab runs it with 8. Eric and Ryan are tied
with 5 to Adam's 4. Finally, players with 130+ runs
since the 2000 MLB season. Adam comes from behind to
move to the next round with 9 to Eric's 8. Ryan's gone
with 7. Schwab, by the way, has 15. Name That...: Eric gets 5
from Herschel Walker, an outstanding RBs. Next, NBA
coaches. Adam ties it with 5 thanks to a blunder on Doc
Rivers. Winter Olympians are next. Five clues later,
Eric has 8 thanks to Michelle Kwan. Next, Boxing Greats.
Smoking Joe Frazier gives Eric 12. Next, MLB Pitchers.
Tom Glavine gives Eric another 5 for 17. Last one is
icing here, as NFL legend Pat Summerall gives Adam 10,
but not the win. Eric wins, 17-10, and $1000. The Schwab Showdown: The
categories are... Coaching Fraternity (current college
basketball coaches), Roger That (Roger Federer), Mascot
Love (MLB mascots), Lost Angeles Football (pro football
in LA). Eric passes Mascot Love
for 2, giving the edge to Schwab, 6-2, but Schwab
strikes first on Roger That for 2. Eric gets his first
on Lost Angeles Football for 2 and his second on Mascot
Love for 3. Schwab gets his second on Lost Angeles
Football for 3. Schwab still wins it, though, with the
                        score at 8-2. |

starts. She misses on the trip to Thailand...over to
Ryan. He misses a vowel...over to Johnnie. After a lot
of spins, she hits Lose A Turn. Over to Rachel who

Johnnie starts. She hits the mystery wedge...will she
risk $3,900? She does...and hits the shopping spree! She
controls the wheel for the entire round and solves
HEAVEN MUST BE MISSING AN ANGEL FOOD CAKE for $3,050.

              | Michael Long III (North
Arlington, NJ) goes into today's show at the $4,000
level, and he hasn't used any lifelines yet, so he's in
                        good shape so far.
It is once again mentioned that Michael's co-workers are
rooting against him, hoping that he'd bomb out. His
message to them: "Eat your heart out." Well said.
Apparently, though, the night before this taping, he
made it to practice as the coach of a 9-year-old
baseball team, and he was hit in the head a couple of
times. Ouch. Hopefully, that won't affect him, as the
                        game resumes...

Voiced by Bruce Willis, the thieving main character of
the 2006 movie "Over the Hedge" is what kind of animal?
 A: Weasel
 B: Rat
 C: Fox
 D: Raccoon

Michael says he could try to use logic to get the
answer, but he sees too many choices, so he polls the
audience. 59% have said D. He trusts them... and they're
                        right! Moving on...

What Yiddish word, popularized by Mike Myers in his
"Coffee Talk" skits on "SNL," means "all choked up"?
 A: Haimish
 B: Zaftig
 C: Verklempt
 D: Meshuggeneh

Michael calls his friend, John (not a co-worker,
thankfully), but though he's not sure, he says D. And
John also sneaks in a plug for a tavern in Kearny, NJ.
Nice way to advertise. Anyway, Michael decides to risk
it, and says D... but it's C! Darn! Well, at least he
has $1,000 to take home, which is probably $1,000 more
than his co-workers expected him to leave with.

Next up is Rich Rosenlof (Wildwood, MO). He seems really
excited to be there. So, they get right to it, with him
knowing that electronic toys commonly have a message on
their packaging that says "batteries not included"
(though some may also want to warn parents that earplugs
aren't included, either). Rich makes his first $1,000,
then after a break, he says that he was a 3-time
champion on "Jeopardy!" Cool. Anyway, he keeps going,
and after a few more questions, this shows up...

In July 2006, Avril Lavigne married fellow Canadian

 A: Sum 41
 B: Good Charlotte
 C: Simple Plan
 D: New Found Glory

[I thought I heard this one on Starface the other day...
I knew this one then, too.]

Rich decides to ask the audience, and 55% are saying A.
Rich trusts them... and they're right! Next question...

Which of these bottled waters comes from the same
municipal water supplies that are used for tap water?
 A: Fiji
 B: Evian
 C: Dasani
 D: Perrier

The 50:50 leaves C and D. Rich then calls his cousin,
John, but he doesn't know, though he'd lean towards D
due to it being around for so long. Then, after some
thought, Rich decides to go for it, saying D... but it's
C! Ouch. He'll have to settle for $1,000.

Maybe Larissa Lacman (Naugatuck, CT) can do better.
She's an attorney, but lately, she and her boss have
been spending more time playing online Millionaire. And
in the audience is her mother and aunt, who are
apparently quite loud. I can't imagine how loud they'll
be if she makes it all the way to the million... Anyway,
Larissa starts by knowing that 2 adjectives that are
commonly used to describe the 2 beds that make up bunk
beds are top and bottom. She gets through the lower
tier, then after a couple of questions, she faces
                        this...

 [$8,000]
Sunk by the Japanese during WWII, the U.S. Naval ship
PT-109 was skippered by what future president?
 A: Lyndon B. Johnson
 B: Richard Nixon
 C: Gerald Ford
 D: John F. Kennedy

She thinks she knows, but she's not positive, so Larissa
asks the audience. D is heavily favoured with 87%. She
goes with that... and it's D!

That'll do it for today. Larissa will return tomorrow.
