Family Feud by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or familyfeud.com
Host: Richard Karn
Berry (Jessica, Frank, David, Sonja, Rachel); $670
Elrose (Joey, Big Lou, Louie, Marie, Kristina ... and Al Bearland) from New York

It's a bicoastal Feud today as the Elrose come from the Big Apple looking for a quick buck. Round 1: many people want to be a Hilton, but name another real family you'd want to join (6). Joey gets the Gates family for #2. Big Lou wants to be a Trump for #1 (who wouldn't?). The family also gets the Kennedys, the Osbournes, the Clintons (yet no one would want to be a Bush), and the Rockefellers for the sweep and 86.

Round 2: a bad job for someone who hates kids (5). Big Lou gets teacher, #2. Frank gets babysitter, but it's only at #3. Kristina gets #1 from day care. Nanny also makes the survey. Can the Berrys steal with scoutleader? Not there! The Elroses get 179. Other answer: bus driver.

Richard likes kids. Has a couple of his own. Double Round: 100 men, a famous female sex symbol (5). Little Louie beats David; Marilyn Monroe is #1, while Pamela Anderson gets #2. The Berrys try to steal with Madonna... Not there! Elroses up to 249? Other answer: Angelina Jolie, Cindy Crawford, Sophia Loren.

Triple Round: something that reminds you of New Orleans (4). Disclaimer: this show was taped before recent unpleasantness. Marie gets Cajun food for #3. Kristina scores #1 again with Mardi Gras. Joey says... the same thing. Then he changes to jazz music. Big Lou finishes it with Rue Bourbon to win the game, 543-0. The Berrys leave with $670.

See what happens when you give the host a teddy bear? You shut out the champs. But can the two Lou Elroses seal the deal? Big Lou gets two big ones with an ingredient you would find in trail mix (nuts) and a word/phrase that starts with Bermuda (triangle) for 132. Little Louie gets a balloon for something you would blow into for the win and $20,000.

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Victoria Groce (musician orig. from Decatur, GA); $22,801
Stacey Swann (instructor/writer from Austin, TX)
Ray Freson (retired advertising executive from Arlington, VA)

As you saw yesterday, Victoria certainly earned her way to the top spot. But can she stay there? Let's get it on! Victoria starts by sweeping Food a Lafontaine (delivered by familiar movie-trailer voice Don Lafontaine). She leads at the TV time out, $6200 to Stacey's $1000. Ray still has yet to score.

Victoria finds the Daily Double under $800 Pope-pourri. With the lead at $9000, she bets $1500 on what Felix V was to Nicholas V in 1449. "What is an anti-pope?" ĄCorrecto! She ends the round with $10,500 to Stacey's $3800. Ray, with $1200, starts Double Jeopardy!...

... with one of the categories being "16- (Yes, 16-) Letter Words". This is your Emmy at work, guys. We won't go there. Instead, Ray goes to $800 Historical "D" Tour... and wouldn't you know it, it's the first Daily Double. He fronts $1000 on the birthplace of both Henry Ford and the motor company that bears his name. "What is Dearborn?" Right for $2200. Leroy Chau aboard the International Space Station gives Ray a video Daily Double under $1200 Man in Space worth $3000: "An early vision of a space station was in 1952 Collier's Magazine article by this scientist." "Wernher von Braun? *Chico does the "more" finger motion* Who is Wernher von Braun?" Got it! He's up to $7200, where he'll end the round. Stacey is at $11,400, and Victoria is close ahead with $12,900.

If you're living in Seattle or Vancouver, one click can put you in Jeopardy!. Go to the website for more details.

Final Jeopardy! in "By the Numbers": the phrase "How I want a drink, alcoholic, of course" is often used to help memorize this. Correct response: What is pi (p)?

Ray is right on for the lead, so it's up to Victoria, who... gets it wrong (she wrote "quadratic formula"), but hey, she had to knock off a titan just to play this game. She's happy leaving with $23,801, but it's Ray who comes from behind to return tomorrow with $14,200.

Lingo by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  7p ET/6p CT on GSN
Host: Chuck Woolery
Friends Kira (teacher) & Shari (consultant)
Couple Ed (computer technician) & Margaret (math tutor)

Ed & Margaret steal BELLY, but Margaret draws red. They get the draw back with GRUNT, but lose it, when Kira & Shari get SOBER. Ed & Margaret get FORTY, followed by COUNT, and another stopper. They get it back with OFFER, PAINT, and the Lingo for the 200-25 lead at the end of the round.

Round 2 starts with Ed & Margaret getting a new board, and what Chuck calls the third steal where a Y was involved. The Y was in JIFFY. They follow that with UNION and a disunion with a red stopper. Kira & Shari get DROPS and drop a red ball. Ed & Margaret get FLASK and the Lingo, giving them the lead, 450-75. Kira & Shari get ROADS and ANNOY, but it's pretty much moot at this point with the red ball and the empty draws. Ed & Margaret win, 450-175.

With three Bonus Lingo letters, Ed & Margaret get STORY, KNOWS, JUNKY, LOYAL, THEFT, NITRO, and WRIST for seven. Better than half a chance at $5000. If you draw 10 on the first pick, it's worth $10,00. Ed draws... 40. Margaret draws the Lingo for $5000.

The Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
A new show, a new audience, the same season-premiere-week excitement. Today's show was a far cry from yesterday's record setting show. Here's the rundown.

Contestant Jill McDuffy, after winning a $2595 Rossignol ski equipment package, plays the first round of this reporter's favorite game, Lucky $even, for a Ford Freestar SE. After a short explanation of the rules from Barker, McDuffy loses a bundle on the second number, suffering $1 losses on the third, then going broke on the fourth. Price of the van was $27,68X, as the final digit wasn't revealed.

McDuffy's loss was just the first of many to come today. Contestant Karolee Meyers drew the obligatory Opening Week playing of Plinko, missed two chips, and earned only $100 on her one free and two earned.

Contestant Edwin Birdsaw, from the great state of Iowa, "shot himself in the foot" during Shopping Spree ($4400 minimum) by selecting the least expensive prize, a 27" unsponsored color TV ($449) first, and selecting the most expensive prize, a VintageTub-dot-com clawfoot tub ($1608) last, still leaving a $1044 difference.

Contestant Beverly Glass ended the Pricing Game Gauntlet by stopping in at Barker's Bargain Bar for two trips, one to Maui and one to Montreal (the classic alliterative trip scheme). Selecting the trip to Montreal (marked at $2317), her trip was only a $1000 bargain, while the Maui vacation (marked at $2241) was double the bargain, a $2000 difference.

There was one shining Pricing Game thru all the smoke of four losses. Contestant Cynthia Wallace, after winning a Deering Sierra banjo and case ($2059), played Clock Game as if she had written the textbook on playing CG. She walked away with a Chromcraft Roadster dinette set and two Shizzle Deluxe bikes AND the $1000 bonus with 11 seconds left on the clock. Also, among the losses and one win, we did have a bailout. Contestant Troy Owens, winning a secretary desk ($2280) as his 1-bid, earned only two rolls of the Let 'Em Roll cubes. His first roll: 2 CARs, 2-$1000, 1-$500. After telling Bob to "show him the money" twice and after Bob asked him to explain it twice, he took the $2500 and split.

Owens and Meyers ended up as Top Winner and Runner-Up, respectively in the Showcases. The first Showcase, starring Miss Tuite as "Betty Better-n-you," offered gardening equipment, a new Mac computer, and a Fleetwood Mallard 180FK trailer. Owens passed on this, Meyers bid $22,500. Showcase 2, the first "Splendido" of the 34th year, gave us an Aico bedroom group, with Wamsutta Serendipity bedding and a Dormia-dot-com sleep set, a set of 5 Carabella swimsuits, and a Yamaha VX110 Watercraft. Owens' bid: $21,500. Karolee went over on her $21,681 Showcase, a difference of only $819. Troy's bid was good... damn good. With a Showcase valued at $21,589, he won both Showcases with a difference of only $89. His total for the day: $48,050.

Fan Notes: No HealthWatch for the second day running. Rich did not make it on camera before the Fremantle splash logo, so no suit color today.

STATS: 1/6 w/Bailout; $58,778

Trato Hecho by Gordon Pepper, GSNN

Air time:  12p ET/11a CT on Univision
Host: Guillermo Huesca
For the first time in a while, the streak of hitting the Gran Trato is more than the win streak of the Jeopardy champion. Can we be 5-time here? The pajama mother and daughter (and they are real mother and daughter) of Sophia and Maria hope so, as they play the first deal. Mom can either take the curtain for her or what's in Guillermo's pocket for her daughter. Mommy gives up the curtain for the daughter. What a nice mommy - made even nicer that she turned down a 1 dollar rolling pin Chasco massage. For the daughter, we have $1,000.

Will Sophia the daughter follow suit - she can have what's in the pocket for herself, or she can send the box to mom. Sophie decides to give mom the box and gives up a ticket...to Tratolandia! Mom instead gets a washer/dryer combo worth $1,098!

Does mom want to trade for the small box? Noooo sayeth mom Maria, and she gives up a dvd player worth $399. Does daughter want to trade for the curtain? Noooo, says daughter Sophia. and she gives up a trip to Reno, Navada worth $850. Either way, both of them made good deals and the family can celebrate.

Can Catwoman Sandy celebrate? She can if she makes the right choice - the money machine or Curtain #1. She wants the curtain and gives up a $20 bill. Instead, she will be celebrating with a mini dinette set worth $994. We have a deal between the cowboy (Isaac) and the she-devil (Rosa). Whoever is the closest to Derman gets $400. The loser gets to sit back down to their seat. Isaac guesses $4.50. Rosa Guesses $3.50. The Derman is...$3.19 and Rosa wins the money. Isaac leaves with nothing. Guillermo has both a box and Curtain #2 for Rosa, and she can trade the $400 for either. She trades it for the Curtain. What she doesn't get in the box - a refrigerator worth $1,149 and the she-devil realizes that she may be getting her due. She does - as she gets a wheeled bathtub powered by a stuffed Chasco donkey. Well, not everyone will be celebrating.

Who wants the Gran Trato? Neither mommy nor daughter want to go, but Sandy will gladly go, as will Isaac, who's nothing apparently is better than Rosa's bathtub and stuffed donkey. Sandy wants door #3 while Isaac wants door #2. No one wants door #1, and there is a riding lawn mower and storage shed worth $2,099. Next up - door #3, and Sandy trades up a little bit with $1,000. That leaves Isaac with the Gran Trato, which is a bedroom set with bureau drawers and a pair of watches worth $4,768! Not bad for someone who was stuck with nothing, eh?

Wheel of Fortune by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or wheeloffortune.com
Hosts: Pat Sajak & Vanna White
Heidi's a biker mama. Taylor's a student from Stillwater, OK. Via's a customer service rep, mixologist, singer, blackjack dealer, and she can sell you a house. And she has an IMAGINARY FRIEND for a $2000 tossup as well as a chance at a trip to Fiji in round 1, on the map. She's gonna run out here as she solves CANADA'S NORTHEAST TERRITORIES. Not it. She corrects herself on the next shot: CANADA'S NORTHWEST TERRITORIES. She gets $8200 for a total of $10,200 so far.

Jackpot round coming, and so is a Spin ID in this Prize Puzzle. We have a thing. Via does the hard work, while Taylor solves DISPOSABLE WATERPROOF CAMERA for the $1000 house minimum and... a trip to the Caribbean! And if you're spin ID LJ04159, you're off to the Bahamas, too! Tell Taylor I said "hi"!

Straight hula moolah with $10,000 in the Mystery Round. Phrase is the category. Taylor spins out $1000 from Maui Jim and the Fiji trip. But it all goes away as he goes Bankrupt. Heidi gets a quick $2400 with CLOSED-CAPTIONED FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED. So far, $3400 for her, including her first Toss-Up win.

How about the third, though? PARCHEESI goes to Taylor, and so does $3000, giving him $7800. Category for the speedround: occupation. Pat gives out $1400 for consonants today. Heidi wins $4200 more for COURTROOM SKETCH ARTIST. She leaves with $7600. Taylor leaves with $7800, but Via is going to Bonus Land with $10,200.

IDs at the ready, gang. Final category: thing. Given the normal six and KMW O, we get...

_ _ O R _
S O _ _

... and a big stink-o from IVORY SOAP. She leaves with $10,200, when she could've had $35,000 more.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Yesterday, we saw a $16,000 winner and a $25,000 winner. What will happen today?

In the hot seat at this time is Alyson Palmer (New York, NY). She is a rocker and a mother of a 22-month-old kid. She hopes to rock her way to a million dollars, and she starts by knowing that in a Dr. Seuss story, the Grinch was the one who attempted to steal Christmas (insert Karl Rove joke here). As she moves along, Alyson also figures that in finance terms, a "James Bond" is a Treasury bond that matures in 2007. Then, for $2,000, she gets this...

What major U.S. company was founded in Seattle in 1916 as Pacific Aero Products?
A: Maytag
B: Hewlett-Packard
C: Procter & Gamble
D: Boeing

Alyson uses the 50:50, which leaves C and D. She then decides to go with D... and she's right! Alyson then goes through a couple more questions, including one which asks what other ingredient besides tomatoes and cheese traditionally tops a pizza Margherita (Basil). She then gets this for $16,000...

What "Star Trek" spinoff was cancelled in 2005, depriving Trekkies of original episodes for the first time in 18 years?
A: The Next Generation
B: Deep Space Nine
C: Enterprise
D: Voyager

Alyson basically says it's not A or B, then she uses the Ask the Audience lifeline. The studio audience vote turns out to be very close, with 49% saying C and 48% saying D. But the AIM poll has more of a clear-cut leader, with 38% saying C, and 25% saying D. She goes with C... and it's C! Next up, the $25,000 question...

The Federation Internationale de Natation is the governing body for what sport?
A: Fencing
B: Cycling
C: Figure Skating
D: Swimming

Alyson would like to call the Olympics, but since she can't, she chooses to call David, a bartender. Just before the end of the 30 seconds, he says B, and doesn't have time to mention how sure he is. But afterwards, Alyson figures that it's not B or C (so much for the Phone-A-Friend), and goes for it, guessing D... which gives her $25,000!

After the commercial break, Alyson says that she'd like to put some of her winnings towards the people of New Orleans, after what Hurricane Katrina did. [You can also still contribute by clicking the American Red Cross link on the front page of this site.]

Back to the game; at this point, she gets Switch the Question, which she immediately uses due to not knowing the first thing that Winnie the Pooh says to himself in the morning in the 1926 book aptly titled "Winnie-the-Pooh" (What's for breakfast?). As a result, this $50,000 question comes up...

David Letterman's sidekick, Paul Shaffer, co-wrote which of these disco hits?
A: In the Navy
B: Car Wash
C: It's Raining Men
D: Boogie Oogie Oogie

With nothing to lose, Alyson goes for it and says C... and she's right! She won't go any farther, though, as she stops at the $100,000 question, which asks for the length of a light nanosecond, the distance light travels in a billionth of a second (1 foot). At least she goes home with $50,000!

And the horn signals the end of the day. A new contestant will start climbing towards the million tomorrow.

[By the way, this is the second straight Tuesday episode which only featured one contestant.]
