Also on the board, a gun, a credit card, and divorce papers. The Nunez try to steal with shopping bags. Not there! The Houstons get 62. Other answers: sex toy, knife

Round 2: someone famous you'd love to give a lie detector test to (7)? Erika gets top answer... come on, who do you think is up there... It's GW. Bill Clinton and Michael Jackson are also up there. The Nunez go with OJ Simpson for the steal... Got it for 55. Other answers:  Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Barry Bonds.

Double: something kids would appreciate more if they had to pay for it themselves (full board). Food is #4, but toys is #2, giving Katie control. Steve gets number one, clothes. The Houstons try with education... Got it for 204. Other answers: car, television/cable.

Triple: a Hollywood Jennifer (4). Steve gets Ms. Aniston for #1. Meggy's J-Lo is #2. Richard's Ms. Garner is #3. The Houstons have one more with Jennifer Love Hewitt... Right for the fifth win 474-55!

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check local listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Lou Bayard (writer from Washington, DC); $17,600
Sara Terrell (veterinary technician from Collinsville, CT)
Sean Carson (teacher from Greenville, FL)

Lou had to smoke a rough and ready opponent to get to where he is today, as he starts his first defense with $200 The King James Bible Tells Me So, where he finds the Daily Double under $1000. He goes all-in on this: John 20: "then saith he to" this man, "... be not faithless, but believing." "Who is Thomas?" Doubting Thomas is right for $3200!

But this round belongs to Sean, who leads with $9000. Lou has $4000, while Sara, with $3800, starts Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Singers on Film. Sean finds the second Daily Double under $1600 Trees. He bets $3600 on this: the southern tip of Florida has forests of this tree, genus Rhizophora, noted for above-ground knee roots. "What is the cypress?" Nope, it's the common or red mangrove, leaving him with $7800. Lou finds the Daily Double under $2000 Let's Eat. In the lead once again, Lou halves the level on the small cakes where Proust believes that "the vicissitudes of life had become indifferent". "What are Madeleines?" Right for $16,200, where he ends the round against Sean's $15,400. Sara has $9000 and is still very much alive.

Final Jeopardy! in "Castles": the name of this large home located in Aberdeenshire means "the majestic dwelling" in Gaelic. Correct question: what is Balmoral?

Sara doubles up... and Lou... also misses, giving Sara the spoiler win with $17,999. Lou leaves with $18,600.

The Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS
Host: Bob Barker
Let's get this 35th Anniversary party started!

With some "luminaries" in the crowd today (C-Note: if it's season 35, show 1, it has to be Tony Harrison and Marc Green), Kimala Ferran, Maria Meza, Michael Gibby, and William Whirity were called as the first four to bid on a trip to Cancun. With a $3450 bid, Michael took his place on stage to play Lucky $even for a Cadillac CTS VVT. First number: 4. Second number guessed as 5, real is 2, lost $3. Third number guessed as 7, real is 3, and Mike's broke. ARP was $42,345. What a way to start the show.

T-MAC NOTE: Hmm. Season premiere. Lucky $even. White Cadillac. I seem to remember that happening before, only with a different outcome.

T-MAC EXPLANATION: Check the Season 32 premiere and the performance of Yours Truly.

The next IUFB, a Fitnex Recumbent bike (ARP: $1999) was claimed by Maria, who had a chance at a Chevy Corvette in 3 Strikes. (0) (1) (3) (5) and (9) went into the bag with the lowly (X). Maria nailed four of the numbers on her first four draws, filling out the price to $539-0. All she needed was the one...but not before drawing two strikes in a row. Last draw. This will make her or break her. IT'S THE (1)! $53,910 and we're off and running.

Kimala captured a Howard Miller 79th Anniversary floor clock, valued at $3285, before taking to the Plinko board. Sweeping up all five chips (and winning a Libman mop, a paper shredder, a pair of radio binoculars and a sandwich maker in the process), her drops didn't start off so great, hitting the right ZERO with the first. She rebounded quickly, hitting $10G's on the next, and finishing with $11,600. However, Maria made it thru to the Showcases, knocking out both Michael and Kimala (tied at 70) with a one-spin 85.

The second half started with Vickyann Chrobak-Sadowski capturing a Beachcomber hot tub, priced at $3495. She took to the Turntable to Push Over for a Dodge Caravan. The lineup: 1 8 2 0 1 9 4 6 0. This could be difficult. She pushed to $20,194 and picked up the pink slip.

William, the last of our First Four escapes the Row with a Wesley Allen platform bed (complete with Loving Care Twilight Crossing) worth $3084. His game: Double Prices for a Reinell 185 18' ski boat. Is it $18,994 or $16,112? He goes with $18,994 and he'll thank you to call him Captain.

To round out this win-fest, Carolyn Carrier made it out of the Row with a Tama drum set worth $1080, following an overbid. She and Barker didn't go far, as they played Most Expensive for THREE AUTOMOBILES!! A Chrysler PT Cruiser behind door #1, a Jeep Wrangler behind #2, and a Chevy Malibu to round out the trio. With cries of "3" coming from the crowd, she goes with the Jeep...
PT Cruiser: $16,000
Malibu: $16,990
Wrangler: $19,135
Carolyn walked away with $52,125 in cars, and that's all she'd get. Vickyann made it to the Showcases, picking up an extra $1000 in the process.

Now, to those Showcases. Barker remarked that "the way things have gone today, it wouldn't surprise (him if someone won both Showcases)." Maria has the option.

Showcase #1 features some illustrious newspaper headlines...
SEPTEMBER 4, 1609: HUDSON DISCOVERS MANHATTAN
Guessed the prize? A trip to NYC (6 nights at the Marriott Marquis).
SEPTEMBER 4, 1888: EASTMAN PATENTS CAMERA
DXG digital cameras
SEPTEMBER 4, 1972: THE PRICE IS RIGHT DEBUTS ON CBS
What could it be? A Saturn Sky, with the main theme as the prize cue. (Nice job, Stan Blits.)
Maria keeps this one, bidding $35,000.

Showcase #2 shows Shane finding some dust-covered prizes from Year One. She first finds an old record player. Today, we offer a JBL home theater system. What about the old board game? Not today. Instead, it's a Robotron/Joust arcade cabinet. What about this old key? Nope. Now we just need key fobs to open the doors on our brand new DODGE VIPER SRT 10's!! Vickyann bids $89,500.

Maria's Showcase ARP: $33,089 and over she goes.
Vickyann's Showcase: $89.....SEVEN THIRTY NINE!! SHE WINS BOTH SHOWCASES, CLAIMING $147,517 IN TOTAL WINNINGS!!

STATS: 5/6; $296,668
NEW DAYTIME RECORDS FOR SHOW AND CONTESTANT!!

T-MAC NOTE: If you watched all the way to the end of the show, you saw Yours Truly at the end of the line. The office staff was allowed to walk on at the end of the show.

Matt Holmes (basketball announcer from Kalamazoo, MI)
Keith Bascom (retail distribution from Concord, NH)
Jeremy "Big Red" Manta (bartender from New York City)
Schwab's Jackpot: $16,000

Leading Off: first, QBs with 3000+ passing yards last season. We run the tape with Matt leading, 5 to Keith & Schwabbie's 4 and Jeremy's 1. Next, AL Rookies of the Year since 1986. Matt still leads, 8 to 6 (Keith) to 7 (Schwab) to 5 (Jeremy). Finally, the #1 women's tennis players. That would mean that Annika Sorenstam is not on the list. "How did four red-blooded American men forget about Maria Sharapova?" Jeremy and Keith both move on with 9, while "Annika Sorenstam" goes home with 8. Schwab has 13.

Remember When: we'll give you the event, you give us the year. Lose a point for every year off. Gain one for an exact guess. Going into the Ultimate Year for double stakes, Keith leads, 102-97. College basketball: the NCAA basketball tournament expands from two regional brackets to four, creating first ever Final Four. "1957." It was 1952, as Jeremy drops to 87. NBA: San Diego Rockets move to Houston. "1975." It was... 1971. Keith wins, 94-87. That's $1000.

Quick reminder: Schwab-a-thon, Sunday at 1p ET.

The Schwab Showdown: The categories are... Road Trip to Canton (Pro Football Hall of Famers), We Were Only Freshmen (great freshman performances in NCAA men's basketball), Field of Screams (crazy baseball injuries), Coming Up Nextel (Nextel Cup series).

Schwab gets his first strike on Coming Up Nextel for 3. Keith gets his first with Field of Screams for 3 and his second on We Were Only Freshmen for 3. Schwab wins, 10-5.

Host: Meredith Vieira
As we go into the second week of the new season, John Ward (Laurence Harbor, NJ) is at the $2,000 level, with his lifelines intact.

John was in law school, and he was in a class of about 110. The professor didn't know anyone's names, except for a few that stood out to him. So, John grew a beard to stand out. And he still has that beard now. Anyway, the game resumes, and he soon gets to this one...

[$8,000]
In 2005, what celebrity ended a 16-year-old "feud" with David Letterman by finally appearing on his late night show?
A: Bill Cosby
B: Oprah Winfrey
C: Jay Leno
D: Barbara Walters

John decides to call his friend, Risa, and she says B. Without even waiting for the Phone-a-Friend to end, John locks it in... and Risa is right! On to the next question...

[$16,000]
The Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak is the nemesis of what children's cartoon character?
A: Strawberry Shortcake
B: Rainbow Brite
C: My Little Pony
D: Smurfette

John asks the audience, and 57% went with A. He then uses the 50:50, leaving A and C. (C only got 7% of the vote.) John says A... and it's A! Still going...

[$25,000]
A chemical compound known as DHA is a common active ingredient in what beauty product?
A: Lip balm
B: Whitening toothpaste
C: Nail polish
D: Self-tanner

Well, if anything, at least he makes up his mind quickly. John walks with $16,000, since he has no clue about this one. Oh, and it was D.

The next player is Dan Keough (Chattanooga, TN), a senior at Notre Dame. He's a bit nervous about heading out of college and into the real world, to make some money. Maybe he can make plenty of money here, while he's still a student. So, Dan starts by knowing that according to Emily Post, kids shouldn't leave the dinner table until asking to be excused (asking to be legally emancipated might lead to an unpleasant situation). He makes it through the lower tier, then after asking for negative comments (to avoid being hexed out of going far), he continues on, eventually reaching this...

[$8,000]
In classical French cuisine, béchamel, velouté, and demi-glace are types of what?
A: Sauces
B: Pastries
C: Cheeses
D: Soups

Dan decides to ask the audience, and 88% says A. He trusts them... and they're right! Another question later, and he faces this...

[$25,000]
Which of these U.S. cities' social elite were commonly known as "brahmins" in the 19th century?
A: Boston
B: Philadelphia
C: Charleston
D: Richmond

Dan isn't exactly sure, so he calls his uncle, James, who is about 95% sure that it's A. Dan goes with that... and he has $25,000! On to the upper tier...

[$50,000]
In 2005, a widespread Internet rumor forced what actor's rep to repeatedly deny that he is running for president?
A: Samuel L. Jackson
B: Ed Harris
C: Christopher Walken
D: Michael Douglas

Dan says he's leaning towards C, but he ends up using the 50:50. A and C remain. He goes with C... and he's right! Moving on...

[$100,000]
In 2006, Marcos Cesar Pontes became a national hero after spending 9 days in space as the first astronaut from what country?
A: Cuba
B: Mexico
C: Chile
D: Brazil

Dan has a guess, but he doesn't want to risk it, so he switches it out. Good thing, too; he thought A, but it was D. So now, he has this to ponder...

[$100,000] (Q)
Peristalsis is a system of internal movement primarily used by what system in the human body?
A: Digestive
B: Respiratory
C: Circulatory
D: Nervous

Hoping that the teacher of the anatomy class he took in high school isn't watching, Dan walks due to having no idea. It was A, but he does leave with $50,000!

That is all for today. See ya tomorrow!
