Champions:
Tsai (Mark, Peter, Charlie, Amy & Renee); $20,000 |
|
Challengers: Rudolph (Lyndie,
Rob, Lisa, Matt & Laurie) |
The Tsais return to take on the
challenge of the Rudolphs. But when it's 141-134 in favor of the
Ruldolphs, it's anyone's game! The triple round question: a famous
person named Jamie. Matt blanks out, but Amy gets #2, Jamie Lee
Curtis. Mark wants #4, Jamie Kennedy... Charlie gets #3, Jamie
Farr... And after Jamie Star, Jamie Fonda, and Judge Jamie,
they're all tapped out. The Rudolphs go with Ray himself, Jamie
Foxx for the steal... Number one! But with only 276, it's not
enough to win!
Sudden death: something that has a
gutter. Laurie fires with gutter to win, 513-134.
Matt gets 104 in Fast Money,
giving his sister Laurie a field of 96. She gets... 38. That gives
the family $710. |

Okay, here's the scenario. You're in
Hollywood. You want to become a screenwriter. You have no money.
You can't go to the Oscars. What do you do? Go to The Price is
Right!
Then you would be Glenn Sutton,
from just up the road in Hope Mills, NC. Here's how his trip to 33
went down. He starts with a karaoke in round 3... then it's to
Magic Number for dinette set and a trip to Lake Tahoe. He sets the
Magic Number to 1803. It's lower than the trip... and higher than
the dinette! He's a winner and a finalist with 80 cents on the
wheel.
He takes on Shari Lynch of San
Antonio in the Showcase. She wins a gas grill in round 5, but has
zero luck at the Card Game table, leaving a Pontiac Vibe in the
TPIR warehouse. Don't cry for her, though. She wins $1000 on the
Wheel.
First Showcase has a new bedroom
with bedding & mattress, a luggage set, and a trip to China. Top
winner Glenn passes to Shari, who bids $13,550. Meanwhile Glenn
gets a visit from Connie Kissup, the world's most obnoxious office
worker (second only to David Brent... heh). She presents a
treadmill, a curio clock, and a Mercury Sable. After watching
that, Glenn gathers enough strength to tag the pack at $22,000.
Actual price: $25,014. At $3014, not bad. Shari's ARP: $16,461,
for a difference of $2911. Even better! Shari takes the day with
$18,800.
Other winners:
Jason Paul: wine cooler with $500 bonus; $5000 playing Let'em Roll
Terry Law: pool table
Barbara Elzer: baker's rack
James Thomas: lawn equipment; wok, drink mixer, crepe maker,
flashlight, makeup mirror & hand mixer playing 1/2 Off |

Well, its raining and snowing here,
but its warm and sunny in the "World Class Spas" that are featured
on WOF this Wednesday.... The $1,000 Tossup is PHRASE. Cheri Matos
from Las Vegas is in business with her husband. She solved SIT
BACK AND RELAX for $1,000. Carlo Messina from Elmwood Park, IL is
a 3rd year podiatry student. Lea Joyce from Smithfield, RI is a
huge Patriots fan.
The $2,000 Tossup is FUN & GAMES. Lea solved KICK THE CAN for
$2,000. She starts this round which is SAME NAME. She hits
Bankrupt and loses $1,200 with BANKRUPT. Over to Cheri who
misses...over to Carlo. He hits the $2,500 wedge and 2 S's and he
hits and picks up the Free Spin. He solves BLARNEY & SHARON STONE
for $5,300. Everyone is on the board already!
The Jackpot round is sponsored by Midas. The prize added to the
wheel...a trip to Westin La Paloma Spa in Tucson, AZ worth $4,969.
The category is ON THE MENU. Cheri starts. She hits the Jackpot
wedge right of the bat...and can't solve. After controlling the
wheel for a while, she loses $1,650 on Bankrupt. Over to Carlo. He
hits and picks up the $1,000 GC to Bed Bath & Beyond. He solves
SEASONAL BERRIES WITH WHIPPED CREAM for $2,400. With everything,
he is in the lead with $8,700.
The mystery round prize is a 2005 Hyundai Accent worth $12,204.
The category for this round is THINGS...and its a PRIZE PUZZLE to
boot! A lot to play for in the round. Carlo starts. After
controlling the wheel for a while, he hits lose a turn. He elects
not to use the spin...which may bite him in the tush later. Over
to Lea. She solves DEGREES FAHRENHEIT & DEGREES CELSIUS for
$3,100. And it's a prize puzzle...she is going to COSTA RICA. It
starts with $1,000 in spending cash and a trip to the Pura Vida
Yoga Spa in Costa Rica. Airfare provided by American Airlines. Its
worth $6,760. And if you have KT03192--you are off to relax in
Costa Rica. She has the lead with $11,860. That round was worth
$9,860! And yes, that was a very stupid move, Carlo.
The $3,000 Tossup is ON THE MAP. Lea adds to her lead with
SARATOGA SPRINGS for $3,000. She has $14,860. Lea starts. She
misses, over to Cheri. She hits Bankrupt again...over to Carlo.
But its FINAL SPIN TIME....$1,300 a letter tonight...Carlo solves
COMMUTER RAIL STATION for $5,200. But it was not enough to win. He
leaves with $13,900. Cheri leaves with $1,000. She had tough luck
on the wheel. But Lea, who could barely spin the wheel wins the
game with $14,860 including that great trip to Costa Rica...
Can Lea manage the strength to spin herself into a bonus round
win? Let's see. She lands on the fourth 0 in $100,000 and her
category tonight is PLACE. With the normal 6 and her choices of
MPDA we have:
S _ B _ A _ (more on this in a second)
And she had the right train of thought to guess SUBWAY. And she is
on track to add $25,000 and go to Costa Rica with a total of
$39,860 in cash and trip! Go Lea! Enjoy your win!
Wait a second....Pat explains that Lea called a P instead of a B.
They had two choices...either tell this lovely old lady that she
doesn't win the $25,000...and since they didn't find anyone (and
it was their fault)...she gets to keep the $25,000 and her total
of $39,860! Good job Harry Friedman! And good job, WOF for being
honest about it. |
