"Greatest Moments (2)" - April 16

Celebrating three decades of daytime's #1 television game show again... It's time to come on down again for $1 million! Let's get it on with Amy Webber, Willie Johnson, Stephen Markle, and Phillip White, as they get a chance to make their own greatest moment happen.

And it's through the doors with Bob, so nothing big... yet. First up for bids: two motorcycles.

Phillip Stephen Willie Amy
$5200 $5800 $3600 $5801

Willie gets the bikes, as they cost $5134. So close for Phillip, but it's Willie who'll play 1/2 Off for $25,000!

Well, after Willie gets all her love out of her system.

Okay. To 1/2 Off. First pairing: a blender at $80, and a jump starter at $15. She thinks the jump starter is half off... and it is! She wins both prizes and we remove half the boxes.

Next pairing: a convection oven at $120 and a radio light at $15. She thinks the radio light is half off... and it is! Anotehr two prizes, another four boxes gone...

Now to a toy car at $70 and an electric toothbrush at $9. She goes for the toothbrush... and that leaves only boxes #2 and #12. She goes for #12... and it's empty. #2 had the money.

Not a good start, but we press on with Sheena Linholm and a sailboat

Phillip Stephen Sheena Amy
$1400 $5001 $3200 $5000

Actual price: $4590. Sheena sails over to center stage to play for... a Cadillac XLR convertible! Her game is Lucky $even, and she gets $7. First number is... 7. That's a $70,000-plus car! Second number guess is 8... 7. Costs her a dollar. Next up, 5... Right on the money! Next up, 6... Right on again! So she can miss the next number five either way.

That's a nice car, by the way!

Okay, enough stalling. Her guess is 5. Makes sense. The number... 6! She gets $4 and a nice car to boot! It's worth $77,566.

If you think Sheena had a high reaction, check out Melanie from way back when! She wouldn't even let go of our hero, Bob... Hard to top, but we'll try with Mae See! And we'll try with a travel package of two sets of luggage and two sets of cameras.

Phillip Stephen Mae Amy
$3200 $1 $2500 $2750

Stephen thought everyone was over, but it was $3020, thus giving Amy the nod and the right to play Clock Game for a Comfort Spa and a garden shed. If she gets both right, she wins $5000!

The spa is $899.... and Amy gets it with 19 seconds left. The shed is $999... and Amy gets it with 8 seconds left! And with that, $5000!

And this guy who won Golden Road a while back didn't get a chance to spin for $1 million... But Willie, Amy, and Sheena will. It's the Showcase Showdown, and Sheena, with her big win, spins last... and best with $1.00! And you know what that means. Cue the lights! Cue the serious music... It's time... for... the MILLION DOLLAR SPIN! Reminder, it has to go all the way round...

Passes the dollar once... but never again. So no big money this half, but maybe the second half will give us some oohs and aahs...

Second half starts up with Calder Hendrickson. The baseball gets to bid on snowboard and ski equipment.

Phillip Stephen Mae Calder
$2100 $1400 $2000 $999

$2595 is the price, and we get Phillip on stage to play for a Buick LeSabre! The game is Cover Up, and the price is NOT $27,625. Phillip, who calls this the greatest moment of his life - second to his boy being born - starts out with $31,870... only the 31 and the 0 are right. He tries $31,590 next... Only the 9 is right. Now to $31,790... Wrong. It was $31,290. Sorry, Phillip.

And we have for this moment, Aleta sharing her hat (and a hoist) with Bob. "She picked me up so high that I think I'm going to have a nosebleed." Taking Phillip's place in Bidder's Row is Jacqueline Hall, as she tries to win a fridge/freezer... with a TV in the door!

Jacqueline Stephen Mae Calder
$4500 $2900 $2800 $4501
$1800 $1600 $2300 $1

After an overbid, we have a price of $2749 and a win for Mae, who at 76 is the oldest contestant tonight. Tonight, she plays for a Chevy Astro van at the Grocery Game. Today's groceries: Citracal calcium, Beneful dog food, Coffeemate half-and-half, VO5 hot oil, and Goya yellow rice. She buys 2 calciums... and she's over by 94 cents.

From the last five years, we have Michael, his mother's boy taking a risk on the Temptation board... and he wants the button hit now, dangit!

Bob praises the loyalty of three or four generations of TPIR fans, while Jesse Hernandez gets the call. Stephen gets one more chance with an Elvis pinball. By the way, watch Elvis this May on CBS =p

Jacqueline Stephen Jesse Calder
$2100 $2500 $2400 $1495

Actual price... $4895! And it's Stephen! He escapes! And not a moment too soon as he tries for a pontoon party boat! Is it $22,481 or $18,652? Stephen goes for the former... wrong.

And before the second Showdown, we have... the most talked about moment in Price is Right history. Yep... Yolanda Bowersley's wardrobe malfunction.

Not one winner, but Phillip makes up for it on the Wheel as he gets $1.00 as well! After eliminating Stephen and Mae, it's time once again... for the MILLION DOLLAR SPIN! It goes around once.... and again, never again. So no millionaire this episode, but still, some big Showcases next.

So far, Sheena is the top winner with $83,156 in cash and prizes so far. Runner up is Phillip with $3595. First Showcase: how pricing games are dreamt up. Cliffhangers was a result of a hiking trip in Switzerland, Clock Game was a result of a 30-second shopping spree with a diamond watch, and Master Key was a result of someone losing the keys to the Lincoln Navigator. Sheena passes to Phillip, who bids $61,000.

Second Showcase: how people watch TPIR. Some people watch at home on an HDTV (which is weird because it's not taped in HD), some people tape it while on a Mediterranean cruise (which is weird because if you have a satellite on the ship, you can get TPIR), and some watch it in a TV in a motorhome (which... isn't that weird at all). Sheena bids $75,000.

First to Sheena, whose pack prices $100,528, a difference of about $25,000. Phillip's package is $57,525. He's gone over, and Sheena is the big winner tonight, this week, OF ALL TIME! Her $183,684 in cash and prizes stands as the biggest win in TPIR history!

And just like that, in a show about the greatest moments in TPIR history, Sheena gets to star in her own. Will we have any more? Find out Friday, May 6! Until then, remember to help control the pet population; have your pet spayed or neutered. Chico saying g'night!
