The LA/Austin Auditions (Or "City Limitations")
May 21

SYTYCD returns to Los Angeles again and then off to Austin for the first time. It'll be somebody's chance to shine as the auditions rolls on.

LOS ANGELES
Orpheum Theatre

Jesse Tyler Ferguson resume his judging duties and we begin with Nicolas Stewart aka Slick from Brooklyn. WIth his bone breaking routine, we were thinking we could change the channel, but nope, round 2 was a good mix for him.

Meanwhile, we get to Alex Kessinger, A foster child who raised her aunt later in life, this former Miss Dance America's jazz routine took her to vegas with flying colors. She even put contemporary in as well. Sebastian Sierra came in next andthe judges refer to him as a "puerto Rican Jumping bean" as the video exlplains it. Another one is Mariia Lebedeva and Misha Smagin, a ballroom duo who are stricly....yes, ballroom. All 3 go to Vegas as a result.

After a slew of quirky dancers came in, Emilio "Millie" Dosal came in. He's teh roomate of alum Phillip Chbeeb and his routine took him to round 2. Makensie Dustman also came in with an a+ contemporary routine that took her to Vegas in the honor roll. Round 2 came and a battle of the poppers had Emilio winning the battle and 8 more came in.

AUSTIN
Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts

By the time we arrived to where live music comes from, Minnie driver, actress and singer joined teh panel. one 4-year wold named Anthony was too young for the show, and Disney World was the prize for him. He might wait until the minimum age to come in. Moving along now.....

Venezuelan-born Daniela Bustillos came in and told us why she came to teh USA. She shoots for a contemporary piece, but hits round 2 as teh target. Nick Muckleroy came in and doing a synchronized hand motion 3 times consecutively, he gets teh ticket in his hand to Vegas. The Exorcist Hampton Williams returned with his family and as a result, both him and his wife are going to Vegas. Nice!

After round 2 was done, Shane, Daniela and 9 more go to Vegas and we end the program. Next week, we go to Boston. We hope luck may be on their side. Goodbye!
