The Dragon
Slayer
April 9
Brendan was saved by Tyson & Coach
through an Immunity win, while Taj divulged with JT the location of the
hidden Immunity Idol... Maybe. In any even, alliances held firm, and
Sydney was voted off, leaving ten to wonder when... or if... a merge
will happen.
Night 18: "One of us had to go..."
... and Taj is glad it wasn't her. Joe
meanwhile gets concerned after seeing torch after torch get snuffed.
Jalapao is down to four to Timbira's six. They hope that their luck will
change tomorrow.
Day 19: Meditation...
Coach has been getting along with his
teammates for 19 days now, but there's a volcano brewing inside, as he
wants to see things, say things, and do things that will more than
likely kill him in the game... So he's out in the water meditating.
Coach has been getting along because he knows that he's a day or two or
three away from a merge. The teammates like this new Coach.
Brendan questions how sane Coach really
is.
Over at Jalapao, Joe's knee takes a turn
for the worse as the surrounding area gets swollen and red. There's a
lot at stake going into whatever happens today.
Meanwhile, we get TREEMAIL!
"Head to head, face to face,
Here's another to get your head spinnin',
Getting away from camp... and a feast
Is what you'll end up winnin'!"
R-CHALLENGE?: A Tent, a Note, and a
Feast
What starts as a get together of the
tribes ends up with this...
"Congratulations, tribes, you have
MERGED! Swap your old buffs with the new."
The new tribe will come up with a tribal
flag, a tribal name, and live on the old Timbira camp.
And for Stephen, it's none too soon,
because Jalapao is HUNGRY! Coach is looking forward to teaming with the
alphas of the other tribe.
Now to come up with a new name. They
first come up with a Portuguese word for "will to overcome"... "dingus".
No, that is not a typo. Coach suggests "Forza", a corruption of "força"
(Portuguese for "strength"). They talk about votes, competition, and
possible alliances, all the while not giving too much up.
The Jalapaos arrive at the Timbira camp,
and the first thing that comes to mind was... "what the hoo-hah."
Stephen notes that the Timbira are running the show, and the former
Jalapaos are in a position where they can be kicked off at any time.
Coach and JT bond over fishing. They're
kindred spirits and warriors at heart. JT's up for anything that Coach
has to offer, saying that Brendan thinks that he's controlling the game.
He's here to make sure everyone hates each other. Coach says that if you
lie to him, you better be prepared to go to war.
Night 19. "I know him, he's a good ol'
boy."
Coach tells Tyson that Brendan has the
Idol. He says that he's the head of the dragon, and if you kill the
head, the body will die. The alliance proposed: JT, Coach, Stephen and
Tyson.
Day 20: More fishin'.
JT and Tyson call living with each
other... "different". They're united by a common enemy, though..
Brendan. Taj still thinks that Stephen, Brendan, and Sierra are going to
keep tribal ties tight over the secret alliance that they have. Brendan
thinks that it needs to lay low for a moment, at least until seven or
eight. Joe needs to go, and JT needs to go.
Tyson brings Debbie into the fold of
four. Their attention turns to Joe, who's injured anyway. Tyson believes
that he's a bigger schemer than Brendan, who actually gets paid to do
such things.
Joe and Erinn decide to look for the Idol
at the Treemail site... and find nothing. Erinn assumes that both
Brendan and Sierra have the Idol. Once they're voted out, we can "play
the game for real."
Day 21...
I-CHALLENGE: Pole Position
From here on out, it's every man for
themselves.
The challenge is simple. Hold onto a pole
for as long as you can. Last person hanging wins.
The order of elimination... Stephen...
Joe (whose leg catches Jeff's attention)... Brendan, Taj & Erinn...
JT.... Coach... Sierra... and Debbie. Winner: Tyson.
Meanwhile, Survivor's Medical Tribe, best
in the business, looks at that leg. Dr. Lucy McKinnon, the head of the
tribe, is quick to note that there is a lot of pus around the injury,
suggesting an active infection. He wants to stay in the game. "I want
y'all to tell me that if I go back to the game, I could lose my leg."
The truth is, pardon the expression, far more painful. The infection
could become septic, resulting in loss of leg or loss of life.
Stephen doesn't trust anyone, saying that
eveyrone's awfully crafty. Lying to everyone gives Tyson pleasure,
wondering why Sierra's even out here. Brendan's also a sneaky bastard.
After some plotting in the rain, Joe
still hasn't returned. Brendan isn't afraid to have to play the Idol
tonight. Stephen tries to work Taj about perhaps taking him out tonight.
Taj doesn't feel right about doing it.
Coach says that JT was going to be next
on the block. His life is in Coach's hands. JT tells Stephen of the news
that Brendan and Sierra were going to vote him off. Solution: split the
votes. A few vote for Brendan. A few vote for Sierra. JT runs it past
Tyson. Tyson runs it past Coach. We can call him the Orchestrator or the
Dragon Slayer if he wants.
But it may be ultimately for naught, as
Jeff enters of news of Joe's condition. The risk of staying in the game
with the current infection was too great for him to continue, so Joe was
medevac'ed out of the game.
Obviously due to Joe's ejection from the
game, there's no Tribal Council tonight. All the tribe can do at this
point is watch the helicopter fly Joe away.
... and Brendan lives to see another day.
