But those times mean nothing in the next
round, where you'll have to run the course again... with three new
- Salmon Ladder, returning from last year
- UNSTABLE BRIDGE, a new obstacle where you have to make your way over a
four-wire suspended plank, then a two-wire one
- Finally, a 31-foot Cargo Net climb
Additionally, the Log Grip was modified
with fewer hand-holds. At stake, a spot at Boot Camp for the final 15.
Ranking will be assessed on how far you go as well as time.
DARON PAYNE - :07 - Quad Steps
VICTOR RIVERA - :20 - Bridge of Blades
JAKE SMITH - :49 - Warped Wall
Matt Marshall, Amos Rendao, and Luis Moco
fail to even reach the Samon Ladder, placing second, third, and sixth.
Jake Smith is still the high man on the leaderboard, having passed the
DAVID CAMPBELL - 1:31 - Salmon Ladder. We
have a new leader.
The Salmon Ladder takes out six more,
including Alan Conealy, Ryan Cousins, and the Rocket Evan Dollard.
TRAVIS ROSEN - 1:38 - Salmon Ladder. That
puts Luis Moco in the hot seat.
BRENT STEFFENSEN - 1:34 - Salmon Ladder. New man in the hot seat, Daron
In fast-forward, two more go down on the
Salmon Ladder and three on the Unstable Bridge. In the hot seat at #15,
RYAN STRATIS - FINISH (3:22)... No,
Ryan... We salute YOU. With eight remaining, he, Paul Kasemir, David
Campbell, Brent Steffensen, Travis Rosen, Brandon Douglass, and David
Rodriguez are all guaranteed a spot in Boot Camp. Jason Williams is on
the bubble with 1:03 at the Warped Wall.
Five more get to the Unstable Bridge,
including Chris Wilczewski and James McGrath. With three remaining, both
will go to Boot Camp along with Drew Dreschel, Travis Furlanic, and
Dustin Rocho, but those who only cleared the Warped Wall are in jeopardy

BRIAN OROSCO - 1:58 - Unstable Bridge. That sends Sean Morris is home.
One runner left, one runner still in
danger of leaving. The final runner, the #1 seed from the Qualifying...

Next time, the 15 head to Boot Camp with
Ryan Stratis leading the charge. They'll have to focus on conditioning
as the competition moves from the sunny breezy beach to the remote
mountains of California. It's team versus team and man versus man as
they move one step closer to Mt. Midoriyama. Fifteen enter, only 10 will
get their tickets to Japan punched.
