Episode 105
April 4

Last week, Matt Marr began his quest for $1 million. He continues to level 5 tonight as he has two lives remaining.

LEVEL 5 - $50,000: STACK ATTACK. Using 36 plastic cups, erect a pyramid structure, then deconstruct it by sliding the cups downward diagonally into one single stack.

And as always,  "failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in ELIMINATION."

First attempt.... FAIL (TIMEOUT, One life remaining)

Final attempt... COMPLETE (:05, $50,000)! Matt can't lose this money, so he might as well play this...

LEVEL 6 - $75,000: DEFYING GRAVITY. Use coordination, concentration, and ninja-like reflexes in order to keep three party balloons in the air.

Only attempt... FAIL (:27, GAME OVER).

But Matt leaves with $50,000 for his doghouse!

Next to step into Guy's ring of fire is an English teacher from Palm Desert, CA.. SAMANTHA GOMEZ!

LEVEL 1 - $1000: BOTTOMS UP. With a yo-yo attached to your backside, knock out four soda cans.

First attempt... COMPLETE (:37, $1000). Samantha plays on...

LEVEL 2 - $2500: BOBBLEHEAD. Using a pedometer strapped to her head, a contestant must count out 125 headbangs. (High score: 135)

First attempt... COMPLETE (144 clicks - NEW HIGH SCORE; $2500). She plays on with her friends and family in attendance

LEVEL 3 - $5000: WHACK JOB. An egg stands atop a toilet paper spool, which stands atop an aluminum pie tin, which stand atop a half-filled glass of water. Using only the spring action from a broom, the contestant must whack the pie tin so that the egg drops into the water. This must be done 12 times with no more than three misses.

First attempt... COMPLETE (:33, $5000). Samantha wants to buy a library full of books for her school. We're going on with this...

LEVEL 4 - $10,000: TIPSY. Balance a soda can on its beveled edge for a three-count. It cannot be done when the can is full, so you must drink the right amount to allow balance.

First attempt... COMPLETE (:07, $10,000). The next level is for guaranteed money.

LEVEL 5 - $50,000: STACK ATTACK. Using 36 plastic cups, erect a pyramid structure, then deconstruct it by sliding the cups downward diagonally into one single stack. (HIGH SCORE: :55)

It took Matt Matt two tries. Samantha... only needs one. COMPLETE (:10, $50,000). Time to play with house money...

LEVEL 6 - $75,000: SEPARATION ANXIETY. Using one hand, separate one pack of 50 M&Ms into its five colors: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue.

First attempt... COMPLETE (:02, $75,000). Will Samantha decide to take the money and run or stay and play?

LEVEL 7 - $125,000: CANTAGIOUS. In one hand, a stack of empty soda cans three high. In another hand, a stack of full soda cans three high. Using dexterity, move the cans from one hand to the other until both stacks have been switched. You may NOT set the cans down or use your body for leverage.

First attempt...  COMPLETE (:11, $125,000). Samantha still has three lives. Will she take the $75,000 risk? She... PLAYS ON!

LEVEL 8 - $250,000: PING TAC TOE. Using white and yellow ping-pong balls as Xs and Os and nine water-filled glasses as a grid, you must get three in a row either across, up and down or diagonally. After landing a yellow ball, you must toss a white one, and vice versa.

First attempt... FAIL (TIME OUT, two lives remaining)

Second attempt... FAIL (TIME OUT, one life remaining)

Final attempt... FAIL (TIME OUT, GAME OVER). But she does leave with $50,000.

Another ten minutes to a million next time.
