"Seems like I waited my whole life, ____ ___ ___ _____..."

Monday to Thursday nights are a ho-hum leading you to work tomorrow, but then, it's "for this one night" you crave for: Friday. And as the crowd files in the studio, we get set to bring you "Don't Forget The Lyrics!" Last time, a $100,000 family reunion took place while Constantine Maroulis' run drew dead thanks to $25,000. Shall we begin our show?

Up first, John Worek. A Las Vegas postal worker with a son from overseas. A reunion will happen later, but we got to get the game going. The categories are:

THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED 1980s
ROCK DUETS
BAD COMPANY LET'S DANCE
POP MOTOWN
R&B

Up first, Motown and these 2 from the record company:
  • Baby, I Need Your Lovin' - The 4 Tops
  • Crusin' - Smokey Robinson
He gets the 4 Tops song. Let's go!

Although you're never near
You're voice I often hear
Another day, another night
I long to hold you tight
'Cause I'm so lonely
Yes, I'm lonely
Let my heart beats for you only

Baby, I need your loving
Got to...DO WHAT?

John's answer: Have all your lovin'. All or nothing as he locks it in.....YES! Next up, Duets and these 2:
  • Don't Go Breakin' My Heart - Elton John & Kiki Dee
  • The Girl Is Mine - Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney
He gets the first song. Here we go.

Don't go breaking my heart
I couldn't if I tried
Honey if I get restless
Baby you're not that kind

Nobody knows it
Right from the start
I gave...WHAT?

John's answer: You my heart. Will he be brokenhearted? He locks it in....CORRECT! Next up, Let's Dance. Boogie on down with these:
  • Twist & Shout - The Beatles
  • Neutron Dance - The Pointer Sisters
He gets "Twist & Shout." Let's get it twisted!

Well, shake it up baby now
Twist and shout
Come on, come on, come, come on baby now
Come on and work it on out
Well work it on out, honey
You know you look so good
You know you got me goin' now
Just like...WHAT?

John's answer: I knew you would. He locks it in....and you know that's RIGHT! Next up for the safety net, Pop, and these 2 songs:
  • I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash
  • Physical - Olivia Newton-John
He gets the first one and the cool running continues with these lyrics:

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)...BRIGHT WHAT?

John's answer: Sun Shiny Day. Is it? Locking it in......IT IS! Going for "The Day The Music Died," we were singing....
  • Hello, I Love You - The Doors
  • That'll Be the Day - Buddy Holly
He gets the Buddy Holly song. Let's do this!

Well that'll be the day
when you say goodbye.
Yeah that'll be the day
when you make me cry.
You say you're gonna leave,
you know it's a lie...STOP! Go john!

John's answer: 'Cause that'll be the day that I die. Is that it? As he locks it in, we dissect it. He's got almost every word right except for "That", is that it?.........NOPE! Correct answer: When. And we know when it's over for John Worek and $25,000, plus a reunion from his son Jason, but why do we have to keep this going? Because we have to. Debra Toscano, a voice teacher from NYC is up next and she's got the perfect chops to get through these 9 categories. They are:

POP DIVAS
BEE GEES THE "EYES" HAVE IT
ONE-HIT WONDERS R&B
ROCK 1980s
LOVE SONGS

Love songs is her first choice and these 2:
  • Always & Forever - Heatwave
  • Let's Stay Together - Al Green
She gets Always & Forever. In the words of Bilal from "House Party," let's go to work!

Always and forever
Each moment with you
Is just like a dream to me
That somehow came true

Every day
Love me...HOW?

Debra's answer: Your own special way. She locks it in....SPECIAL DELIVERY! That's correct. Next one is Pop and these 2:
  • Tell her About it - Billy Joel
  • Clemson & Clover-Tommy James & The Shondells
She gets Billy Joel. Tell me, please!

Listen boy
Don't want to see you let a good thing
Slip away

You know I don't like watching
Anybody make the same mistakes
I made

She's a real nice girl
And she's always there for you
But a nice girl wouldn't tell you what you should do

Listen boy
I'm sure that you think you got it all
Under control

You don't want somebody telling you
The way to stay in someone's soul

You're a big boy now
You'll never let her go
But that's just the kind of thing
She ought to know

Tell her about it
Tell her everything you feel
Give her every reason to accept...WHAT?

Debra's answer: That choice for real. Or is it? She uses her 2 words backup and she changes choice to "You're." So, she locks that in....CORRECT!  next will be 1980's and these 2:
  • Heaven Is A Place on Earth - Belinda Carlise
  • Let's Dance - David Bowie
She gets the first one. Let's begin.

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven....WHAT?

Debra's answer: Love comes first. She locks it in.....ON FIRE! That's correct! Next will be Rock and these 2 for the parachute:
  • Paradise By the Dashboard Light - Meat Loaf
  • Time Is on My Side - The Roling Stones
She gets Time Is on My Side. It's time to rock!

Time is on my side, yes, it is.
Time is on my side, yes, it is.
Now you were saying that you want to be free
but you'll come runnin' back, you'll come runnin' back,
you'll come...WHAT?

Debra's answer: Runnin' back to me. She crosses the finish line........SCORE! Next will be Divas and these 2 are:

  • New Attitude - Patti LaBelle
  • What A Girl Wants - Christina Aguilrea
She gets What A Girl Wants. Why? Because $50,000 is what she wants. Let's go.

What a girl wants
What a girl needs
Whatever...Um, WHAT?

Debra's answer: Makes you happy sets you free. She may think it ain't it. So she gets the 3 lines and chooses C, because "me" is actually the correct one. So she locks it in....CORRECT! And the next category is the Bee Gees and the songs are:
  • Night Fever
  • More Than a Woman
She gets More Than a Woman. Let's make more money!

Girl, I've known you very well
I've seen you growing every day
I never really looked before
But now you take my breath away
Suddenly you're in my life
A part of everything I do
You got me workin' day and night
Just tryin' to keep a hold on you
Here in your arms I found my paradise
My only chance for happiness
And if I lose you now, I think I would die
Say you'll always be my baby
We can make it shine
We can take forever just a minute at a time

You are more than a woman.. FROZEN PIZZA!

Debra's answer: More than a woman to me. And she locks it in.....YES! She is on a roll. Next one is One-Hit Wonders and these 2:
  • Whip It - Devo
  • Puttin' On the Ritz - Taco
She gets Whip It. Let's blend!

Crack that whip
Give the past the slip
Step on a crack
Break your momma's back

When a problem comes along
You must whip it
Before the cream sits out too long
You must whip it
When something's going wrong
You must whip it

Now whip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It's not too late....STOP IT!

Debra's answer: To whip it, whip it good. Is that right? She locks it in....CORRECT! Next will be R&B. Here they come:
  • Ain't No Woman - The 4 tops
  • Going out of My Head - Little Anthony & The Imperials
She gets the 2nd song and here....we.....go.....

Well I think I'm going out of my head.
Yes I think I'm going out of my head
Over you, over you
I want you to want me
I need you so badly,
I can't think of anything but you

And I think I'm going out of my head.
'Cause I can't explain the tears that I shed
Over you, over you
I see you each morning;
But you just walk past me
You don't even know that I exist

Goin' out of my head over you
Out of my head over you
Out of my head...STOP!

Debra's answer: day and night,
Night and day, and night, all the time. She may think it's not. She calls out Alley with the same answer, but it's a good thing to bailout. So $200,000 she's leaving. The real last 3 words are: Wrong or right. And it was the right call. That's all the singing we have tonight. I want to wish everyone a safe & happy Halloween. But don't trick yourself to this message: it's not what you know about it, it's what you sing about it.
