"I Get my kicks ______ ___ __________ ________..."

On route 66? No. At the hop? Wrong. "Above the Waistline, sunshine?" Bingo. That's why you should be playing "Don't Forget The Lyrics." Last time, Luke Adams turned a normal bar routine into a $350,000 ride. Let's see who else will take the wheel.

Eddie Mui from Seattle, WA. sought a fortune cookie after tryout that reads: "An interesting musical opportunity is in your future." What's in his future? Why not, a million dollars. Here are tonight's categories:

BREAK-UP SONGS      1980S
DISCO               POP
DUETS               R&B
COVER ME            ROCK
CLASSIC ROCK

What's his first move? Aha, Break-up songs. He's got 2 to pick-up:
  • Should I Stay or Should I go-The Clash
  • Return to Sender-Elvis Presley
He gets the king. We're on our way.

Return to sender, return to sender
I gave a letter to the post man, he put it his sack.
Bright and early next morning, he brought my letter back.
She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number....FREEZE! What's next, eddie?

Eddie's response: No such phone. I kinda know it's not right, but he decides to use his first backup which is "2 words." His other 2 are call out his wife & friend, and which of these 3 lines are correct. The first word is phone.....switch it to "Zone" and it's correct. Next up, Such......SUCH LUCK, he's right! It all boils down to no.............YES!  Next category for 5 big ones: Pop. 2 songs to choose:
  • Mickey-Toni Basil
  • Mandy-Barry Manilow
Sounds like an interesting selection section. He gets "Mandy." We are ready.

I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
A shadow of a man
A face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into

Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized...AND STOP! Never realized, what Eddie?

Eddie's response: how happy you made me. But is he happy for 5,000? He locks it in.....and he's got 5,000 reasons to be happy, because he's RIGHT! Next category: Duets. He gets "Ebony & Ivory" by Stevie Wonder & Paul Mccartney. We're off!

Ebony & Ivory, live together in pefect harmony
side by side on my piano, keyboard oh lord....HOLD UP! Next line, please....

Eddie's response: Why don't we? Why don't we.....see it for $10,000? He locks it in.......CORRECT!  The next one is for 25,000 bucks and if he misses after that, he can't walk with less than that. The next category is: Disco. He's got 2 songs to sing tonight:
  • Brick House-The Commodores
  • Hot Stuff-Donna Summer
He gets Brick House. Let's rock the house!

Ow, she's a brick house
Shes mighty, mighty, just lettin' it all hang out
Ow, she's a brick house
I like ladies stacked, that's a fact, ain't holdin' nothin' back
Ow, she's a brick house
Well-built together, everybody knows, this is how the story goes
HOLD IT RIGHT THERE! Eddie gets:

Eddie's response: She knows how to take off her clothes. WHAT!? Anyways, there are 5 missing words, so let's take "off her clothes" off the board. Thinking it's not right, he gets his friend Melody for a do-over as a backup and she backs her up with: "You Know She's got Everything." Eddie changes it to "she", locks it in.......and he's RIGHT!  Now for $50,000, the category he gets: 1980's. "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer is his song. Let's roll!

Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another kiss is what it takes
You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another kiss is all you need

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love

You see the signs, but you can't read
You're runnin' at a different speed
Your heart beats in double time
Another kiss
...AND STOP? What happens next, Eddie?

Eddie's response: And you'll be mine. But is it a $50,000 gold mine? He locks it in.......but we'll have to wait, because we're out of time. Tune in again if the lyric becomes a landmine or a sandblast for $50,000. As always, it's not what you know about it, it's what you sing about it.
