"Now on the day I was born,
the nurses all gathered 'round,
and they gazed in wide wonder,
___ ___ ____ ____ ___ ______...."

What? You don't know it? Then the people at FOX have a solution: Don't Forget The Lyrics. That's what the challenge is. You are 10 songs away from 1 million dollars and when the road gets rough, you got 3 options that can help you or hurt you. In case you're wondering what the example was, it's.."At the joy they had found." That help, didn't it? So join Whose Line? alum Wayne Brady with our very first contestant.

Katie Moesher from Escondido, CA. is studying a master's in biology and loves knitting and tap dancing, but will she tap herself out of this gig. Not in this one, we don't. She's just 10 songs away from 1 million dollars, but for every song it's get harder and the lyrics get more trickier. Here are her categories:

80’S MUSIC
GIRL GROUPS
POP
DIVAS
ROCK
COUNTRY
RHYTHM & BLUES
CLASSIC ROCK
ROLLING STONES

Sounds like a plan? Well, it's not. But it actually is. Her first pick for $2500....R&B. She has 2 songs to pick:
  • I Just Called to Say I love You-Stevie Wonder
  • Have You Seen Her-The Chi-Lites
Her choice: I Just called to say I love you. Here are the lyrics for her to sing...

No new yearss day
To celebrate
No chocolate covered candy hearts to give away
No first of spring
No song to sing
In fact heres just another ordinary day
I Just called to say I love you
I Just Called to say.....
AND STOP! Katie, what's the missing lyric?

Katie's response: "How Much I Care..." But does she care about locking that in for $2500? Yes she does, and she....is............CORRECT! In case how the backups go, she must call on her family & friends to help, which in this case is her aunt & friend, she can figure out which 2 words are right and which of the 3 possible lyrics are correct. Moving right along for $5000, her next move....Rock. She has 2 choices to make:

  • Joy to The World-Three Dog Night
  • Hard to Handle-The Black Crowes
And she picks....Joy To The World. Let's go.

Jeremiah was a bullfrog
Was a good friend of mine
I never understood a single word he said
But I helped him drink his wine
And he always had some mighty fine wine

Singin'
Joy to the world
All the boys and girls, now
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy.....
AND STOP! What's the lyric, Katie?

Katie's response: "To You & Me." But is there joy for $5000? She locks in and she is........CORRECT!  Now the next category Katie picked: Divas. How well can she sing on these 2 songs?

  • Material Girl-Madonna
  • New Attitude-Patti Labelle
She gets: Material girl by Madonna. here we go.

Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me
I think they’re o.k.
If they don’t give me proper credit
I just walk away

They can beg and they can plead
But they can’t see the light, that’s right
’cause the boy with the cold hard cash...
AND STOP! Can Katie cash in with this response?

Katie's response: "Is Always Mr. Right." But is she right for $10,000? She locks it in and she's..............RIGHT!  Now the next one is for $25,000. If she gets the next one wrong after that, she can't walk away with less than that amount. What's her $25,000 category? Girl bands, of course. Her 2 choices:

  • Walk Like an Egyptian-The Bangles
  • We Are Family-Sister Sledge
Her Choice: Walk Like an Egyptian by the Bangles. Let's Rock!

All the old paintings on the tombs
They do the sand dance don't you know
If they move too quick (oh whey oh)
They're falling down like a domino

All the bazaar men by the Nile
They got the money on a bet
Gold crocodiles (oh whey oh)
They snap their teeth on your cigarette

Foreign types with the hookah pipes say
Ay oh whey oh, ay oh whey oh
Walk like an Egyptian

[The] Blonde waitresses take their trays
They spin around and....STOP! What do these waitresses do, katie?

Katie's response: "They cross the floor." But thinking that might not be the right lyric, she decides to use her "right in 2" backup. They.....is correct and cross......is another good one, but will she cross the finish line for $25,000? The floor...................IS RIGHT! But it's just another lap in this 10-song rally. Going for $50,000 she decides her category is...........Pop. Her 2 choices are:

  • ABC-The Jackson 5
  • Bad Day-Daniel Powter
Thinking it's not "Bad Day," ABC is her choice. Wayne decides to use an audience member as a backup dancer and we're on our way.

Michael: A buh-buh buh buh-buh
J5: A buh-buh buh buh-buh
Michael: You went to school to learn, girl
Things you never, never knew before...
Jermaine: Like I before E except after C...
Michael: And why 2 plus 2 makes four
Now now now, I'm gonna teach you...
J5: Teach you, teach you
Michael: All about love, dear...
J5: All about love
Jermaine: Sit yourself down, take a seat
All you gotta do is repeat after me.

CHORUS:
J5: ABC
Michael: Easy as...
J5: 123
Michael: As simple as...
J5: Do re mi
Michael: ABC, 123, baby, you and me girl
J5: ABC
Michael: Easy as...
J5: 123
Michael: As simple as...
J5: Do re mi
Michael: ABC, 123, baby, you and me

Tito: Come on, let me love you just a little bit
Jackie: Come on, let me love you just a little bit
Jermaine: I'm a going to teach how to sing it out
Michael: Come on, come one, come on
Let me show you what it's all about!
Reading, writing and arithmetic
Are the branches of the learning tree
Jermaine: But without the roots of love every day, girl
Michael: Your education ain't complete
T-T-T-Teacher's gonna show you
J5: Show you, show you....

AND STOP! Teacher's gonna show you what, Katie?

Katie's response: "How to get an "A"" But I'm wondering if it's an A+. She locks it in...and.....let's dissect the lyrics. The first words are how to.......CORRECT! The next 2 are an A..............A PLUS! The last one is get....has she got it?.....................SHE'S GOT IT!  She's at $50,000. Now the $100,000 category she picks: Classic Rock. But unfortunately, we're out of clock. Tune in next time as Katie picks 1 of 2 classic rock songs for $100,000. Remember, it's not what you know about it, it's what you sing about it.
