Semifinals: Chu/Japinga/Rider
November 18
They were the smartest... fiercest... most competitive... most talked about class of Tournament of Champions in Jeopardy! history. Last week, they all played for a spot in this week's semifinal. This week, it's win-or-go-home as they all play for three spots in the two-day finale. At stake, $250,000, bragging rights, and the title of Jeopardy! super champion, a title that comes with it quiz immortality.

Second runner up gets $100,000. Third place gets $50,000. Semifinalists are guaranteed $10,000. As always, any money won depends on how high up the ladder a player goes.

Julia Collins awaits the winner of this match and the next.

- Rebecca wins if: she bets noting and Arthur misses.
- Arthur wins if: he bets $7801 and is correct.

Final Jeopardy! category: FRENCH LITERATURE

ITS FIRST CHAPTER RECALLS "THE LITTLE SCALLOP-SHELL OF PASTRY, SO RICHLY SENSUAL UNDER ITS SEVERE, RELIGIOUS FOLDS"

Correct response: what is "Remembrance of Things Past"?

Mark's response: what is The Hunchback of Notre Dame? WRONG. Wager: $8000. Total: $0.
Rebecca's response: what is Les Miserable? WRONG. Wager: $7000. Total: $5800.
Arthur's response: what is In Search of Lost Time? ACCEPTABLE. Wager doesn't matter.

FINALIST: Arthur Chu

It was always going to be Arthur's game to win, but he needed to cement it in the final. He can't afford to be that lackadaisical in the final, when he's going up against the best of the best.

Three more semifinalists next time.
