Preliminaries: Kelly/Kohlstedt/Morris
March 12
All the drama of a high stakes poker
match.
All the excitement of a big jackpot win.
All the tension of a blackjack double
down...
... and all for $250,000.
Fifteen of the year's best champions have
returned to face each other for bragging rights and the title of
Jeopardy! Grand Champion. The venue: a new high-def, high-tech battle
arena showcased at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las
Vegas.
Only nine will be invited to return next
week to play for one of three slots in the two-day final. Those nine
will include the winners of the five prelims and the four highest
scorers among non-winners... the Wild Cards.
Another standard two-week affair awaits with an minimum guarantee of
$100,000 for second place and $50,000 for third.
Semifinalists are guaranteed at least $10,000, while quarterfinalists
are guaranteed $5000 for participation. As always, any and all winning
accrued depends on how far up the ladder a player goes.
So far, Dan Pawson is the only one
guaranteed in next week's semifinals. That will change as one of these
three will get their tickets punched.

Daily Double #1: $1200 Show
Business. Larissa is on a tear again with $21,400 to Matt's $5800. But it's all
about Tom with $6600. He wagers $2600 on this: in 1923 siblings Harry, Albert,
Samuel & Jack established a studio under this name. "What is Warner Bros.?"
Correct for $9200!
Matt goes hunting and finds...
Daily Double #2: $1200 Begins & Ends
with "E". He has $900 to $9200 for Tom. Both are put to shame by Larissa's
$21,000. He goes for broke with $6000 on this... Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al
Thani rules one, specifically Qatar. "What is an emirate?" Correct for $15,000!
A reversal of judgment for $2000 in

SEMI-FINALIST:
Larissa Kelly
Ladies and gentlemen, what
you have just seen is a twenty-something from California putting 14 of
her peers on notice. A razor-sharp mind... Flawless hand-eye
coordination... a perfect Final Jeopardy! streak, and more importantly,
she hates to lose. I don't think she will.
Next time, a man of the
cloth and a woman of the Klink will try to oust 100K-club member Ben
Bishop.
