Last week, fifteen teenagers headed to the quiz show equivalent of "The Hunger Games" in Southern California. Now it's on to the Capital, as the action switches to DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. At stake, $75,000 and the title of the 2012 Teen Tournament Champion.

Second place gets $25,000. Third gets $15,000. Semifinalists who make it to this week will receive a guarantee of $10,000. All tournament tributes will receive the all new edition of Classroom Jeopardy! for their schools. All money will be determined, as always, by how far the players go in the tournament.

This is week 2 of the standard two-week affair, meaning that the five game winners and the four wild-cards will meet to compete for a spot in the two-day final. Basically, it's win or go home.

The winner of this game gets Catherine Briley and Elyse Mancuso...

Jeopardy! round...

Category #6 is going to be presented by the highest-ranking gearhead in our government... Vice President Joe Biden.

Daily Double: $600 When in the World? Krishna has $1200, $1600 behind Kevin's lead. He makes it true on this: newly elected US Senators & Congressmen are sworn in on the 3rd of this month. "What is March?" No, it's January, leaving him with nothing.

At the end of Jeopardy!... Kevin... gets money back on a technical difficulty.

Double Jeopardy! round...

Daily Double #1: $1600 Mutations. Kevin leads by $800 with $6200. He fronts $2000 on this: canavanine, produced by some plants, is a special one of these acids; it messes up proteins in insects' bodies. "What are amino acids?" That would get Kevin $8200, but Kevin drops to $4200 on "corrosive acids."

Daily Double #2: $1200 The Silent Movie Era. Kevin bets $2000 of his $10,600 on this: later famous for thrillers like "Psycho", this man directed the silent murder mystery "The Lodger". "Who is Alfred Hitchcock?" Right for $12,600 at the end of Double Jeopardy!...

Like the two women that she's to face next time, she poured it on early and often in the front game. The fact that Rose backed into the game winning on the back of Kevin's FJ! loss makes her a bit of an underdog, though. We'll see how she fares against....
