14 Chefs Compete
July 26
The men couldn't do anything right in the
kitchen, but then Natalie came like a miracle and saved their butts from
a third-straight disasterpiece theatre. The departure heightened the
growing rifts between Carrie & everyone, between Elise & everyone, and
between Carrie & Elise. Will something be done about it today?
"She's not going to get better. She
sucks. She did nothing and she's still here." Guess not.
The next morning, the fourteen chefs look
like really bad Super Mario cosplayers for... chicken deliveries.
CHALLENGE #4: Chicken Run (creativity)
Each team will produce four stunning chicken dish using various
ingredients. The ingredients will be chosen after you chase down four
chickens and deposit them in their coops. You want as many ingredients
as possible within five minutes. Chicken catching is easier for some
than others. Jonathon & Natalie, among the best of 'em. After five
minutes, the reds get nine, the blues 11.
Now to cook. The cooks will pair up to
grill, sauté, fry, or roast their chicken. Oh, did we mention that the
team has to share ONE chicken?
First, Gina & Carrie's fried chicken...
is raw. Woops.
Judging will be People Magazine's Jenn
Garcia and EW's Dave Carter. The chef with the best dish today will be
featured with Ramsay in a future edition of People.
FRIED
- Carrie & Gina: Raw Fried Chicken
- Paul: Roasted Corn Fried Chicken
WINNER: Paul (Blue leads, 1-0)
SAUTÉ
- Jennifer & Krupa: Chicken Cacciatore
- Jonathon & Will: Lemon Herb Chicken
WINNER: BOTH! (Blues lead, 2-1)
GRILLED
- Jamie: Grilled Chicken Salad
- Monterray & Tommy: Grilled Chicken & Garbanzo Beans with half of it on
the floor in the kitchen.
WINNER: Jamie (Tied at 2)
ROAST
- Elise & Elizabeth: Roasted Chicken with Squash Swiss Chard Saute
- Natalie & Chino: Roasted Chicken Coconut Curry Soup
WINNER: ... ELISE & ELIZABETH (REDS WIN, 3-2)
The Reds will be going go-carting. The
best dish... Elise & Elizabeth's roast. As for the Blues, they will be
prepping chicken stock.
The reward takes us to K1 Speedway, as
the women reenact that one scene in "The Right Stuff". You know which
one. We learn that Elizabeth, being from Manhattan, can't drive and
never bothered to learn. Jennifer can drive, just slowly. The final race
comes down to Jamie, Elise, and Carrie... And it's Mario Kart out there.
Winner... JAMIE!
The blues make the most of their time in
the kitchen and rehearse a smooth service. Chino... isn't getting with
the program.
Next day brings the prep and the service.
The blues seem focus and united, while the reds... are talking back to
Andi. And by "The Reds", I mean "Elise". Why would you do that. She
needs to calm the calm down.
James... OPEN HELL'S KITCHEN!
DINNER SERVICE #4: VIP Night
In addition to their standard rota of 50 diners, the chefs will have VIP
guests at chef's tables: Olympic volleyballers Misty May Treanor and Jen
Kessy will be dining with the Reds, while Olympic swimmers Mark Spitz
and Janet Evans will be dining in the Blue Kitchen.
Krupa will host the Chef's Table on the
Reds, while the Blues will send Jonathon to see to our VIPs.
Elise is ready with her first app... with
no color and all rubber. Second treatment... perfect. Tommy's
appetizer's hoping to score with the VIPs. It... doesn't. Carrie is
coordinating times for apps... and Elise is ready for plates that aren't
ready yet. An hour in, and the Blues are almost done with apps...
Although Monterray can't take fish direction on the chin like a man,
saying that it's falling apart and there's "nothing he can do about it."
Here's an idea. Remember what you were doing? Yeah, don't do that.
Jonathon can't have that. Man up and man
your station. And the team is embarrassing themselves in front of the
guests.
The Reds are DONE with apps. Now come the
entrees. Gina slices the strip prematurely. Now Chino is working the
two-top on the chef's tables. He needs more time on the meat. His Wellie
is cold and raw. Elise's sea bass... one is dry, one is raw. Time for
her to fall on this one. Chino's second entree attempt... No better than
the first. And that'll do it for his team, leaving a flabbergasted
Ramsay to apologize for their error.
So the Reds are left to serve BOTH VIP
tables... and yeah, that doesn't go over as planned either. SHUT IT
DOWN. Service ends in a complete and utter CF of a nightmare of a
disaster. Scott & Andi are left to tend to the VIPs.
"Pathetic." No winners, both teams will
nominate TWO.
The Blues try to discuss the situation,
as Chino drove the team downward. Natalie brings to cry as China takes
her assistance the wrong way.
As for the Reds... Jamie tries to be fair
about who should go up, and Elise... starts running her damn mouth.
Simple question: who would make the team stronger by leaving? And they
can't even answer that. So the Reds answer it for them.
ELIMINATION #4
But first, the Blues nominate Chino (meat blunders) and Monterray (fish
blunders). The Reds nominate Carrie (weak link) and Elise (too much
drama).
Monterray says that he is a strong cook,
but he doesn't believe that he shut down in the face of assistance.
Chino says that he's embarrassed and he wishes that he could show what
he can do. Carrie says that she's a fighter and she's better than this,
saying Elise is NOT a team player. The Reds are split between the two
ladies... favoring Elise to go. She says that it's her first time...
And it won't be her last. She is back in line.
Leaving tonight... CHINO. Again, Elise
said it, he was up three times. Three strikes and you're out.
"Chino took his time in Hell's Kitchen very seriously. The problem is,
he seriously couldn't cook."
Elise has not a single friend in the
kitchen. How will that affect her? Stay tuned.
