Round 1: Christy vs. Ogas/Spangenberg vs. Legler - August 12

Last time, Rahim Oberholtzer was offed by game show queen Phyllis Harris, while John Carpenter showed an old-school champ Thom McKee his walking papers. Tonight, the final of our round 1 matches, as Millionaire champs Nancy Christy and Ogi Ogas pitch bout against each other, while Jeopardy!'s Frank "Spankenberg" Spangenberg takes on Twenty-One's David Legler in a battle of the lieutenants.

But first, Christy vs. Ogas. Let's meet the players...

NANCY CHRISTY VS OGI OGAS
53 Age 36
8th grade English teacher Occupation graduate student (neuroscience)
Tulsa, OK Hometown Waltham, MA
Millionaire: is the show's only female to traverse the 15 Claim to fame Millionaire: won $500,000 last season
none Other games none

Nancy hasn't changed her life drastically. She's still a teacher, and she believes that 8th graders are her biggest challenge.

Ogi is still a PhD student. He likes to think about thinking. His greatest mistake, though, not preparing himself for the million... even though he knew the answer. He's not going to duplicate that same mistake.

Okay, an explanation of the rules...

Round 1: General knowledge questions.

Round 2: Numbers and logic.

Round 3: Words and letters.

Round 4: Mixed bag.

Players are each given one minute of the questioner's time. Correct answers will stop the clock; wrong ones will keep the clock going until they give a correct answer or they use one of three switches given to them for the entire match. A switch passes the question to their opponent. The player who runs out of time first loses the round, and the winner keeps the time remaining on his or her clock to use in the final round. Player who runs out of time in that round first is out of the tournament.

Round 1 begins... NOW.
