Round 1: Oberholtzer vs. Harris/Carpenter vs. McKee - August 11

Last time, the biggest winner in the history of game shows took the biggest underdog to school as Brad Rutter, the top seed, made short work of the 16th seed Amy Kelly, then in a battle between two game show demigods Ed Toutant and Leszek Pawlowicz, only one walked away with head held high.. Leszek. Tonight, a one-time king in Rahim Oberholtzer takes on one of the game's grand dames in Phyllis Harris. Then the first millionaire on Millionaire, John Carpenter, takes on the Ken Jennings before Ken Jennings, Tic Tac Dough's Thom McKee.

But first, Oberholtzer vs. Harris. Let's meet the players...

RAHIM OBERHOLTZER VS PHYLLIS HARRIS
34 Age 47
Finance Occupation Mortgage broker
Houston Hometown Las Vegas
Twenty-One: One of the first big winners on the modern-day remake, winning $1.12 million Claim to fame Greed: one of the show's first big winners in the Super Greed series, winning a lifetime total of almost half a mill
none Other games Card Sharks, Scrabble, Trivia Trap, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Rahim wanted to have every experience he could before he started his job. Among those... being a millionaire on "Twenty-One". He lives for poker. He sees himself as the underdog, saying that he'll do the best he can.

Phyllis loves to barbecue with her "quiz-show mom". Now she hangs out with her "quiz-show kids". She sees the game as being dominated by men. They were produced, hosted, and played.. mostly by men. She just wants to win. Doesn't matter who she beats, just so long as she beats somebody. Anybody.

Okay, an explanation of the rules...

Round 1: General knowledge questions.

Round 2: Numbers and logic.

Round 3: Words and letters.

Round 4: Mixed bag.

Players are each given one minute of the questioner's time. Correct answers will stop the clock; wrong ones will keep the clock going until they give a correct answer or they use one of three switches given to them for the entire match. A switch passes the question to their opponent. The player who runs out of time first loses the round, and the winner keeps the time remaining on his or her clock to use in the final round. Player who runs out of time in that round first is out of the tournament.

Round 1 begins... NOW.
