Week 3: Ya Burnt?
(Latin Night)
March 30 |
No, it's not your microwave,
it's Latin Night on DWTS. The routines will heat up and
out will come the routines, but one couple will be
thrown away. Now that it's on preheat, let's bake that
thing.
First serving goes to Rumer & Val doing a salsa to "Turn
The Beat Around" by Vickie Sue Robinson. Rumer helped
the troupe to the ballroom to connect to Val and both
did a little arm work. After this, it was a 70's party!
Turn your scores, scoreboard:
Rumer & Val's score: 33
A second helping goes to Charlotte & Keo doing a rumba
to "Empire" by Shakira. Charlotte did a split and later
did a foot drag. Later, the curtains dropped and Keo
went shirtless. By teh end, it was an almost-kiss. And
the scoreboard goes like this....
CHarlotte & keo's Score: 22
The Third Course goes to Michael & Peta doing a salsa to
"Celebrate" by Pitbull. Right away, Peta did a split,
smoek bombs came out at teh start and both did arm work.
There was more later on as they went to the floor and
even more later on. Peta did a flying squirrel move and
did a cartwheel assisted by Michael. Flipping the
scoring switch:
Michael & Peta's score: 24
Our Fourth Meal goes to Riker & Allison doing a salsa to
"Limbo" by Daddy Yankee. Givinig it an amazonian look,
Riker, put a leg over Allison's head and both did arm
work. Riker took a hurdle over Allison and she did a
flip over to end it. And teh scoreboard says:
Riker & Allison's score: 34
At the Fifth Table, Suzanne & Tony doing a samba to
"Copacabana" by Barry Manilow. Suzanne channeled her
inner Carmen Miranda and later joined Tony after being
assisted by male dancers of the troupe. By the end,
Suzanne did a bit of a floor spin and went through Tony.
Score check!
Suzanne & Tony's score: 25
Serving a party of 6, Chris & Witney doing an Argentine
Tango to "Dangerous: by Michael, er, David Guetta w/Sam
Martin. The spotlights were on him under a dark blue
scheme and Witney joined her. Witney did a front bend
and a fiery graphic was on the ballroom floor. Fire up
the numbers!
Chris & Witney's score: 28
Seventh, Robert & Kym doing a rumba to "How Long Will I
Love You?" by Ellie Goulding. Kym did a split and almost
did a floor sweep later on. Both did a little arm worka
dn taht was it. Here's the scores....
Robert & Kym's score: 29
After a refill of Pepsi, we get cha-cha to "Oye 2014" by
Santana w/Pitbull and it'll be done by Patti & Artem.
Pretending it's an all-pink hotel, Artem nicely taps
Patti on the shoulder at teh check-in desk and the male
part of the troupe passed bags in a circle to avoid
getting hit. After a conga line, they toyed around with
the baggage carrier and Patti was riding around with it.
She later got out of it and got the key by teh end.
Unlocking the scores:
Patti & Artem's score: 22
Complimentary chips & Salsa goes to Willow & Mark doing
a paso doble. It brought fire & ice together for this
routine. Real flames shot up in the band area behind
them and one highlight near the end was Willow going
through Mark. Mix in the scores:
Willow & Mark's score: 32
After checking with the server to see if we're okay or
not, we get Noah & Sharna doing an argentine tango to
"Rather Be" by Clean Bandit w/Jess Glynne. It all took
place in a circle in the center of the ballroom and put
in creativity all through the routine. And teh scores
say...
Noah & Sharna's score: 30
And for dessert, Nastia & Derek doing a samba. Nastia
started out solo and a shirtless Derek came through the
smoke and went to the floor to join him. For the first
time this season, the samba rolls went into play and it
was more than your average samba party. And here comes
this....
Nastia & Derek's score: 34
And.....we're full. BEfore we split the check, we tip
these 3 top scorers....Nastia, Rumer & Willow. But
between Chris & Charlotte, one couple was overcooked,
and it was.............Charlotte & Keo.
Well, DWTS in now into a doggie bag, but just until next
Monday when we get "Most Memorable Year" week. It'll be
a time warp of a night. Talk to you later.
