Week 3: Tweet My Year
March 31 |
Week 3 is upon us, children
and so far the stars are about to tackle the most
memorable year. All the memories from teh stars adds up
to one stunning week. Let's get to it.
Before we begin, a couple of things. First, Billy Dee
Williams has decided to forego the competition due to a
back injury, so this week, everyone gets a free pass.
The other thing is Robin Roberts, formerly of ESPN will
be the 4th judge, so we'll forego the comments in lieu
of just the scores this week. Now let's get to work.
First off, James & Peta doing a jive to "the Middle" by
Jimmy Eat World. 2 were playing students in school and
James started out dancing on top of the table with Pets
going afterwards. James later took a risk by flipping
off the table into the band area and it worked. Both did
a whole lot of arm work and James later did an
unbelievable leap in front of the judges table. They
ended it by kissing a book in front of them. Now we make
up to the scores.
James & Peta's score: 36
NeNe & Tony will do a rumba to "I Believe In You & Me"
by Whitney Houston. Tony came up from an air bed and
even though it was more sensual, it ended up right on
the bed. Better wake up to this.
Nene & Tony's score: 31
We have Cody & Witney doing jazz to "Surfboard" by Cody
himself. When all the dancing was done, they had to end
it by going on top of the judges table. Now they got off
of it, it's time for a score check.
Cody & Witney's Score: 35
Moving right along, Danica & Val doing contemporary to
"Lullaby" by Billy Joel. I don't know what else to say,
but it was very poignant throughout the dance. What
about the scores?
Danica & Val's score: 36
Drew & Cheryl will be next as they dance a waltz to
"Fade Into You" from the TV show "Nashville." The
chandelier went up and Drew sans glasses was ready. One
highlight was Cheryl doing a ballet turn, but we turn
things over to the scoreboard.
Drew & Cheryl's score: 30
Meryl & Maks get ready to dance a foxtrot to "All Of Me"
by John Legend. For the 2nd year in a row, Lindsey
Stirling stops by the program, this time, to assist the
pair. It turned out to be more sensual than the dance
itself, but Meryl eventually did a floor spin. And the
scores say:
Meryl & Maks' score: 39
Amy & Derek do contemporary to "Human" by Christina
Perri and that's where we're seeing right now. With her
prosthetic legs, she powered her way through the routine
helping Derek out. More help on the way via scoreboard:
Amy & Derek: 36
Charlie & Sharna will now jive to "Happy" by Pharrell
WIlliams. With all this dancing by mid-point, they took
it to the audience and it was cool. Even cooler? This.
Charlie & Sharna's score: 36
Another jive comes in, but it's unfortunately the very
last dance of the night and that goes to Candace & Mark
doing a jive to "Blue Suede Shoes" by Elvis Presley.
Most of the audience comes in to see it as if it was a
concert and Mark did a flip there. Later, Candace did a
back & forth move while Mark did a guitar gesture.
What's the scores?
Candace & Mark's score: 32
So that's it. The finals read like this.
Meryl way out in front with 39, Charlie, Amy, Danica,
and James have 36, 35 goes to Cody, 32 belongs to
Candace, Nene with 31 and Drew dead last with 30. Next
week, the partnet switch-up. Something abounds to be
had. You'll see why next week. Adios!
