So we got an ice skating duo from Sochi and Cheryl with
a different Drew. Sounds like an interesting season.
Let's get to it.
Cha-Cha, contemporary and foxtrot are on the docket for
today and first off are Nene & Tony doing a cha-cha to
"Give It To You" by Robin Thicke W/Kendrick Lamar. Nene
looked pretty much like a flapper from the 20's and she
controlled it. On we go to the judges. Len said it was
like a buffet, Bruno said she has so much to give and
Carrie Ann said she has a personality. Give the numbers
away, would ya?
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
James & Peta will dance to "Story of My Life" by One
Direction. Peta did a few twirls and there was more. On
to the judges. Bruno said he is an admission, Carrie Ann
said he's so darn cute and Len said it was a little bit
messy. Cleaning up the numbers....
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
Danica & Val will now foxtrot to "Walk Away" by Kelly
Clarkson. One highlight was Danica putting the finger to
Val's nose quickly and by the end, she kissed Bruno at
the judges table which is now back where it belongs.
Speaking of judges, let's go to them. Carrie Ann said
they have great energy, Len said it was terrific and
Bruno loves her as a good kisser. Let's kiss & make up
numbers.
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
Now it's Sean & Karina doing contemporary to "Somewhere
Only We Know" by Keane. Karina did her thing solo and
Sean did a running move there. After all the magic, we
go to the judges. Len said the iceman cometh, Bruno said
he wasn't going to be a lump of ice, and Carrie Ann said
he had all the authenticity. Let's see what the numbers
say:
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 20
Next is Billy Dee & Emma doing a cha-cha to "Star Wars"
by Meco. He was surrounded by stormtroopers, R2D2 and
C3P0, but in this case, he wasn't acting right. Let's
see if the judges proved it. Bruno said he got the wrong
character, Carrie Ann said he's the most relaxed dancer
and Len said it was on time. Time now for this....
CARRIE ANN: 5 LEN: 5 BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 15
Moving on, Meryl & Maks doing a cha-cha to "All Night"
by Icona Pop. Meryl pretended to have a victory snap
with Charlie, but Maks stole her quickly. Later, she did
a few twirls and after this, we go to the judges. Carrie
Ann said she lit up the ballroom, Len said she's good on
wood and Bruno said she's the queen of spins. Let's spin
away to this....
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
Candace & Mark are ready to do Contemporary to "Burn" by
Ellie Goulding. They were on the floor surrounded by
yellow balls and by the end, they lied down again and
went to a blue scheme. Now we change it back to normal
and go to the judges. Len said she can dance, Bruno said
it was dramatic and Carrie Ann said she's such an
incredible dancer. And now....
CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 25
Cody & Witney will now cha-cha to "Timber" by Pitbull w/
Ke$ha. Cody broke it down first, but Witney joined in on
the fun. He even twirled her around. Now we spin around
with the judges. Bruno said he feels rejuvenated
watching him, Carrie Ann said he is fantastic and Len
said it was full of attack. Attack this!
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 22
So ready for Drew & Cheryl dancing a foxtrot to "Money
(That's What I Want)" by Barrett Strong. Drew plays Mr.
Moneybags in a Monopoly setting and they danced all
around the board. Now we roll to the judges. Carrie Ann
said he's a crowd pleaser, Len said it was very
watchable and Bruno said he has the style & content.
Roll the numbers!
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
Amy & Derek get set to dance to "Counting Stars" by
OneRepublic as a cha-cha. Amy swung back & forth into
the rhythm of things and after that little
dance....despite her para-legs, of course, it's the
judges. Len said she got a gold medal in the cha-cha,
Bruno said how does she do it? And Carrie Ann said she's
in shock. Electrify the numbers!
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
Diana & Henry dive in on a foxtrot to "Beyond The Sea"
by Bobby Darin. She was well in control of the dance,
but she was flailing off a bit. Let's see if the judges
spot any mistakes. Bruno said she didn't no badly at
all, Carrie Ann said she's a slowly opening flower and
Bruno said it need more finesse. Score check!
CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 6
Total Score: 18
And finally, Charlie & Sharna doing contemporary to "Let
Her Go" by Passenger. They only did it in the band area
and boy, they got this one down. Now we go to the
judges. Carrie Ann said they're a perfect match, Len
said it was the perfect dance for him and Bruno said
he's an artist. Let's paint by numbers.
CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 9
Total Score: 27
Final scores go like this: Charlie with 27, Candace with
25, 24s go to Danica, Meryl & Amy, 22 goes to Cody,
Drew, James & Nene with 21, Sean with 20, Diana hanging
in there with 18 and Billy Dee dead last with 15. Next
week, it'll be the stars turn to pick a dance. Hilarity
ensues. Bye!
