STAGE 1: CAR BOWLING

It's just like regular bowling... only with cars! Each pin is worth one, with a bonus blue pin worth three. Least points puts it in park permanently.

First up is Nate & Tony. He's scared... a little. They veer to the right and killed it for 8 points. And Tony hugs the blue pin.

Next up, Gino & Mariam, the hometown heroes. They're married, and the funny thing is... they're very happy about it. They've got nice smiles... and they're all smiles with 4. But they're on the bubble with that.

Next is Michele & Michael. Michael's 23, but he's still living at home. If they win the big money, he's moving out. They knock down six and the blue for 9 points. And Michael is left hanging on the five.

At the line... best friends Nasim & Jackie. Jackie the blonde says she has more fun. Nasim the brunette says that she's smarter. Together... they shoot a 6.

So it's either going to be Gino & Mariam whose smiles are turned upside down, or Scott & Vivicca, team Diva Crush, are going to get crushed. They get... four for the tie. Gino & Mariam are still alive...

But this will be settled in a bowl-off! Scott & Vivicca fire up for the spare... and only get 1. Gino & Mariam just need to get another one .... They get 4! They're moving on.

STAGE 2: ROOF SLIDE

Would you invert your car with an inversion ramp for distance if you were to win $50,000? That's what the four remaining teams are going to do. Least distance get the brakes put on them permanently.

Michele & Michael are first due to their first-place finish in Car Bowling. And the Oedipal son is at the wheel... launching at a distance of 124'6".

Next is Nasim & Jackie. Nasim takes the wheel. Nasim admits to not being in the front seat of an American car before... take that for what you will... They gun it... for 125'2".

Next is Gino & Mariam. They need to beat 124'6" to secure a spot in the next round. With Mariam at the wheel, they do it... very chirpily. Unfortunately, they only lock in 76'8" on their side. That's what you get for not flooring it.

Finally, Nate & Tony. Nate's going to gun it here and slide past 80 feet to advance to the next round.

Unfortunately for Orlando, Gino & Mariam have to say goodbye...

STAGE 3: TOW TOW YOUR BOAT

It's the America's Cup without water, as the teams will fight for position racing down a course hitched to a boat. The thing is... they're going to navigate through plywood fish... in reverse. The teams are talking trash, but who'll back it up.. literally?

At the wheels.. Jackie for the pink, Michele in yellow, and Tony in blue.

Blue car breaks out to the early lead, but we have an early crash at the start, or what Orlando calls "a menage-a-car". Nate & Tony spot an opening and take it, knocking every fish out in their way. The fish that saved Pittsburgh... Spicy Nemo Roll... Flipper... Charlie Tuna... Abe Vigoda... ALL THE FISH GO DOWN! And hot on their heels... or rather, their hood, Michele & Michael. So close, but momma hits the wall. But it's one less wall that they hit compared to Jackie & Nasim, who'll live the simple life all the way home. Michele & Michael and Nate & Tony are going to...

FINAL STAGE: CRASH COURSE

The Crash Course is a daunting obstacle course which will take our players through a Barrel Wall, a Drop Zone, through the mudpits of the Offroad Area, between the flaming cars of Wreck Alley, and then, while the car is being power cleaned, the drivers will have to switch places and reverse out of the Dead End. then the other driver will swerve through the Garage Doors, the Animal X-ing, and finally, the Crash Course Wall to clock in a time. The fastest team will win $50,000.

Michele & Michael are first. Michael's at the wheel first. They get tripped up by a barrel at the Drop Zone, then get dug in the Mudpits... Mom's angry. Mike gets a little shaken by those errors and doesn't really gun it for the rest of his time. Next is the switch, and Michele... is a bit spooked... She goes through a water barrel in the Garage Doors and clocks in at 4:50.

That's the time that Nate & Tony have to beat. Two reds and a championship green see Tony completely floor it. He's driving very cleanly, but he gets stuck in the mud... Tony's taking a dirt nap. He has to reverse. He's aggressive on the approach to the Dead End and the switch. Nate backs up and has a time reversing. He crashes into... a water barrel... and they win it with a time of 3:05! That's $50,000 and the coveted Golden Steering Wheel.

Five more cars born in Detroit will go back to die next time. This is where your Cash for Clunkers goes.

(Programming C-Note: Due to a Presidential Address, Crash Course will return in two weeks)
