Last week, the Losers were put through the
ringer in an NFL workout to win a Play60 visit from a superstar player
for one of their captains. At the end, one player quit and another faced
the Red Line, both of the White Team. Now with only two players, can
they compete with the others?
As we begin this next phase of
competition...
BLUE
David: 278 (-9)
Gina: 223 (-7)
Alex: 225 (-6)
Michael: 409 (-14)
Jeff: 359 (0)
LBS LOST: 36 (2.35%)
RED
Cate: 220 (-5)
Francelina: 242 (-6)
Jackson: 302 (-4)
Joe: 326 (-12)
Lisa: 225 (-5)
LBS LOST: 32 (2.38%)
WHITE
Pam: 219 (-8)
Danni: 234 (-5)
LBS LOST: 18
Danni and Pam now face harsh reality that
losing is not an option. Even if it takes a full day with Jillian, they
will stand up to the competition.
The next day, the Losers are sent to a
safe with... TEMPTATION. Soda, candy, pizza, burgers, etc., etc., etc.
Oh yeah, and there's a video game in the corner. "Nothing good can come
of any of this." Yep. This is the enemy. Fact: kids spend on average 4.5
hours in front of the TV every day. To fight this... you need knowledge.
So today, we're going to test how you know...
CHALLENGE #2: Getting Schooled
Ali will ask five questions on childhood
obesity. Team that comes in last will spend 4.5 hours a day for the next
week inside this hell hole.
1) According to the CDC, what percentage
of American children aged 2-19 years are obese?
a) approx. 5%
b) approx 12%
c) approx. 17%
d) approx. 39%
CORRECT: C. Everyone misses.
2) Approximately what percentage of
overweight children ages 5-10 already have at least one risk factor for
heart disease?
a) 10
b) 25
c) 40
d) 60
CORRECT: D. Everyone misses. AGAIN.
3) According to the CDC, what is the
single biggest source of added sugar in children's diets?
a) Chocolate
b) Fried food
c) Sugar-sweetened drinks
d) Ice cream
CORRECT: C. Everyone.... right.
4) Complete this sentence: Over the past
three decades, the childhood obesity rate in America...
a) decreased
b) doubled
c) tripled
d) stayed the same
CORRECT: C. Everyone... right.
5) Of parents of obese children, what
percentage think their child is normal or or even underweight?
a) 20
b) 38
c) 51
d) 75
CORRECT: D. WINNER: REDS.
TIEBREAKER: On average, what percentage
of daily calories for children aged 2-18 years is wasted on sugars and
solid fats?
BLUE: 68
WHITE: 55
ANSWER: 40. WHITE is safe.
That means the Blues will spend 4.5 hours
each day for the next week NOT in the gym, but in front of the TV. Doing
nothing. Starting... soon.
Red Team is on fire after two weigh-in
wins, but now the pressure is on to build off of that. Meanwhile, the
Blues are going to sit and look at stuff. Or DO THEY? The Blues decide
to pour ORANGE JUICE over every single item in the room. Yeah, try and
eat that now. Meanwhile, Bob is just hearing the news. That isn't really
fazing him... He knows something you don't know. As for the remnants of
the White Team, Jillian is pushing them even harder, and it seems like
the Whites are bringing it.
Cate's starting to crumble, and it has
nothing to do with the weight on Cate's body, but the weight on Cate's
head. Dolvett's going to have to work on that.
Meanwhile, the Blues are sitting in the
Junk Room as Bob enters... Talk about a shock. Bob still has a lot of
faith in this team.
At the gym, Jillian calls over Francelina
over to jump rope with the Whites, because, well, in the end, all of the
trainers are here to help everyone. On her mind, her father, he was very
hot and cold until he passed away as she was turning 16. He was an
alcoholic. But she needs to forgive him, and she needs to forgive
herself.
Meanwhile, the time continues in the Room
of Death.
Off ranch, the trainers have sent Dr.
Joanna (a pediatrician and childhood nutritionist) to the kids' houses
to tackle their cupboards. Remember, you can do a million sit-ups, but
if you don't watch what you eat, you're not going to see the result. If
you don't concentrate on what you eat, you will apparently eat 25% more
calories than if you were. It's a study. Also, if you are going to eat
carbs, switch to whole-grains - whole wheat breads and brown rice.
Time expires in the Junk Room, and the
Blues are feeling the sluggishness that four and a half hours of doing
nothing will give you. How will Bob end up pulling this off?
CHALLENGE #3: Getting The Junk Out
Each team has a giant gumball machine.
Each teammate will have to take a gumball across a bubble gum pit. The
first to 20 wins.... a year's worth of groceries from "Fruits & Veggies:
More Matters".
Because David and Pam have not yet been
medically cleared to play, Danni will play on the Blue Team.
CHALLENGE AMERICA: Bentley Prince Street
is getting in on the challenge with a walking club, yoga, Pilates, a
fully-staffed gym, and one of those desks that is mounted to a
treadmill. Progresso soup has joined them in stacking their cupboards
with soups that are under 100 calories. And they're offering a trip to
LA for a makeover and a trip to the TBL finale March 18. Go to
BiggestLoser.com for details.
Michael's knee starting to flare up, but
he's not giving up on the challenge. It's all for naught...
WINNER: RED
"I hate gum." Me too, Jackson.
LAST CHANCE WORKOUT TIME! The Reds
continue to keep the momentum up, and Dolvett is going to make certain
that each second is not wasted. Meanwhile, Jillian is back at the scene
of Pam's massive breakdown last week... and no breakdown in sight. Wait
for it...
... and there we go. Hope this doesn't
cost her.
As for the Blues... one more night in the
Junk Room before you can proceed to your Last Chance Workout... In.
This. Room. With a deck of cards, Bob gives them four exercises for as
many reps as there are in the card. 10s and faces are 10. Aces are 11.
Squats, burpees, thrusters, pushups. The message: "This room did not
break me."
WEIGH-IN #3
Tonight, the teams will determine who
will be eliminated from this week. The player with the highest
percentage weight loss on the losing team will be immune.

Jeff: 348 (-11)
Alex: 221 (-4)
David: 272 (-6)
Michael: 396 (-13)

Francelina: 237 (-5)

Cate: 218 (-2)

the lowest percentage loss will leave
Danni: 228 (-6)

LBS LOST: 15 (3.31%) - SAFE
Which means that the RED Team goes from
top of the heap to losing a player tonight. Joe, with the highest
percentage lost, is safe. So who's going home?
Cate - A blind vote for JACKSON
Jackson - LISA
Francelina - CATE
Joe - CATE
Lisa - CATE
EPILOGUE: Cate lost a total of 28
pounds on the show. Today, she weights 196, and you can see the
difference. She's currently in training to run her first full marathon,
and Dolvett will be at the finish line waiting for her. Cate Laughlin...
Runner... I like the sound of that.
