"Welcome to the 70s" - July 5

I'm Brian Moore and I'm ready to do the time warp that sends us back to the 70's. Let's meet the players...

Name-Sign
---------
Jami-Taurus
Joey-Taurus
Lynda-Aquarius
Corey-Capricorn
Haley-Pisces
Peter-Aquarius
Sarah-Capricorn
Ruben-Aquarius
Geo-Cancer
Lee-Aries
Andrew-Cancer
Ashley-Virgo

They're all introduced by Bert Van Styles (played by Bil Dwyer) who holds a classic-style microphone. Once the intros are over, they meet Dawn (played by Natasha Leggero). Right away the contestants now have to learn the groovy new ‘70s slang. They also have to unload all of their modern loot, from iPods and cell phones, to makeup and beauty products. They'll all go into a vault in which they'll be given back to a player when their time in the house is up. The players then receive 70's-style clothing in which they didn't appreciate. The player who eats, sleeps, and breathes the 70's more will win...

*An array of products from HP.
*A 2005 Volkswagen Beetle
*And a European vacation from STA Travel.

At some points during their time in the 70's house they'll hear the ringing of a school bell, the players must stop what they're doing and do the Hustle. As an introduction, Dawn gives the players a quickie on the Hustle. Dawn then escorts the players to another room. This is where Oscar communicates their missions to the contestants by virtue of a "Charlie's Angels" small black box on a desk. Oscar notifies then that the first challenge is a basketball tournament complete with mini-shorts. The players are divided into two teams the Rollers and the Dyn-O-Mites. The Rollers drive their 70's-style station wagon while the Dyn-O-Mites drive their 70's style van to a High School gymnasium.

When the teams get there, Dawn gives them some more information on the challenge. Each of the teams will play against the 2005 High School basketball champions. The team who scores the most points against the High Schoolers wins this challenge. It's not about athletic skills, it's about whose the most 70's. The Rollers go first scoring absolutely no points. But to no surprise the Dyn-O-Mites win with two points and their prize is... a fondue party. As for the Rollers, they're all in danger of being evicted from the house... and that's not to be confused with the new Big Brother 6 house. According to Oscar, he tells Andrew that the phrase "freakin' awesome" is from the 80's and the word "ballers" is from the terrible 2000s. He's one of the two players on the chopping block. Then Oscar talks to Geo about how botox treatments were not invented until the late 80s.

Andrew and Geo go to another room where they'll compete in the first elimination contest involving the board game "Operation". Each one will have one chance to grab as many bones from the board as they can before triggering the buzzer. Whoever grabs the least amount of bones will be kicked out of the 70's House. Here's a list of the bones that Andrew has grabbed.

1. Water on the Knee
2. Adam's Apple
3. Ankle Bone
4. Wish Bone
5. Butterflies in Stomach

Let's see how Geo did...

1. Ankle Bone
2. Spare Rib

Geo thought he had it in the bag until he got cocky and triggered the buzzer after grabbing two bones. Therefore he's back to his modern clothes as he's officially out of the 70's House. The players learn that whatever they do and talk is under a microscope. At the end of the show, the remaining players do the hustle as they learn another thing, they don't know what to expect.

We don't know what to expect either for the next episode of MTV's The 70's House. Just keep watching and find out who else will be sent back to the year 2005. Until next week, hope for things that are groovy! Bye!
