Nightcap! We start this week off with Perry Stalin, who collects rocks with his son. He wants to buy a big rock. A diamond would be a big rock...and a vacation with her wife would be another nice thing to do with the money. Perry decides to switch rocks... er... cases, and selects #4 instead of #6. The board, after 3 rounds, looks like this:

OFFER: $19,000

Perry...decides that $19,000 is not worth gambling...Deal for $19,000! All of the contestants...disagree. the audience is booing Perry. He is right about one thing, though - if the $500,000 goes away, he won't see the $19,000 again. But he wouldn't have found it early. He gets up to an offer of $111,000 before finding it under case #7. So despite getting out a little too early, he made a good deal. He would have had $200, and he walks with $19,000 instead. Two good deals to start off the week. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Round 1 (7): something a man might do to look good, but he doesn't want people to know about. Marcella chimes in with hair dye for #1. Champs blank, so the question goes to the Tripps. They try cosmetic surgery... Not there! 29 to the Virgens. Other answers: toupee/"plugs", facials/lotions, pluck his eyebrows, wear makeup, shave/body wax, clip nose hairs.

Round 2 (6): something that starts with the word "flash". Diane gets #2, "Flashdance". James goes one better with flashlight. Flashbulb and flashback also there. The Tripps try again with a flash flood... No! 89 for the Virgens. Other answers: Flash Gordon, flash card.

Double (full board): an animal whose kiss would be the kiss of death. Tiffany's gorilla is trumped by Sonia's alligator, 3 to 4. Jesse gets the big one, snake. Spider follows. The Tripps can steal with a bear. No! Virgins take 253. Other answers: piranha, hippopotamus.

Triple (4): something you'd do if you saw someone stealing your car. Jesse calls the police for #1. Screaming, running after them, and getting your gun sweep to win, 538-0.

Fast Money: Carlos & Marcella are back to try again... and this time, they get 224 in seven for $20,000. That gives them a total of $21,370 for three.

Meredith starts out with $200 A Meaty Category, chomping her way to the lead at the TV time out with $2000 to Ryan's $600. Lynn's looking to strike.

Ryan finds the Daily Double under $1000 the Good Book. $800 down, he bets $1000 on this: in Egypt, this young Hebrew slave was owned by Potiphar, captain of the royal guards. "Who is Joshua?" Nope, it was Joseph, leaving him $1800 in the red. He's still at a loss at the half with -$1000, and with Lynn at $200 and Meredith at $7800, he'll have to go first in Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Name That Century. Lynn finds the first Daily Double under $2000 Roomy Books. She bets $300 on this: in an essay, she hoped that future women would have an income of 500 pounds a year "and rooms of our own". "Who is Virginia Woolf?" Should've bet more, but she has $1700. Ryan dips back in the red when he finds the other Daily Double under $1200 Dear John. He bets $1500 on this: in 1980 Carter passed up a debate, so Reagan debated this third candidate instead. "Who is John Anderson?" Correct for -$700. Ryan finally gets out of the hole in earnest with $3300 to Lynn's $4500. On $22,200, Meredith's practically looking at her first five-figure payday.

Final Jeopardy! in "US Geography": of the non-state US territories, areas & districts, the only one that is larger in area than the smallest state. Correct response: what is Puerto Rico?

The smallest state is Rhode Island, if that helps. Meredith almost wrote Puerto Rico... and for the fourth day in a row, she comes out the winner despite losing the Final, today with $20,000, giving her a four-day total of $48,700.

Anyway, enough retrospective, let's get to it with Michael Schneider, Elaine White, Anita Roy, Zeke Carl, and a Mac. The price, for anyone contemplating getting the Mac... $2739. Michael gets one and a crack at a trip to Utah marked at $3220, a loveseat marked at $1029, and a collection of fragrances marked at $2375. One of them, believe it or not, is wrong. He thinks it's the trip to Utah... but it is indeed $3220. The fragrances were $1954.

Elaine gets chairs & books worth $866. What else can she get? What about a Chevrolet Cobalt! We roll out the Money Game...

Zeke takes a $1799 motorscooter for a spin up to the Shell Game. Success rewards in a trip to Fiji. He gets chips from $100 swim goggle-camera, a $50 alarm clock, and a $120 poker game. Only #3 is left uncovered. The ball... is in #1! And Zeke's #1 to take his game to the Showcases.

Mary Bedford goes down and up with an $810 set of pool and beach lounges. Next is the matter of an upright piano, which is hers if she knows whether she's Coming ($4895) or Going ($5984). She goes... and she falls on her face. It was $4895.

Jo Hansell gets a sound system that looks an awful lot like a washer-dryer. In any event, the prize is $2248, and Jo can translate it to a Pontiac Vibe in Line'em Up. The first number: 1. The last is 5. We have to work with a $587 game table, an $85 stock tracker, and a $462 gas grill. We try out $17,565... WRONG. One right. How about $17,825? How about no. It was $17,845. She was THAT close.

Last chance at greatness for Anita comes with the aforementioned sound system. The price: $500. The winner: Tony Diaz, who picks up a $500 wad for hitting it on the nose. Let's see if he can do it again with a dining room with dinnerware. The game: Pick-a-Pair. Ester C... $9.99. Clever Clasp... ALSO $9.99. Everything's just coming up Tony... except for the Showdown, which comes up Mary.

First Showcase makes the show's principals look good with a gold & diamond ring, a DVD/HDTV combo, and a Chevrolet Equinox. Top winner Zeke bids $28,000. Next, it's snowing... so we offer a fireplace, a hot tub, and a Chrysler 300. Mary bids $27,000. Actual price: $41,939, a difference of $14,939. Zeke's Showcase is... $31,449, a winning difference of $3449! He drives away with $43,092. Not a bad day's work.

Herreras trail, 99-78. Double (3): an activity that can kill you if you're distracted. Lorenzo gets #2, skydiving. Driving is fairly simple, but it gets Paula the #1. Will flying steal for the champs? Nope, Mendez are up to 271. Other answer: balancing acts/juggling.

Surprisingly enough, basejumping is not deadly enough for the survey, but it's still illegal.

Triple (4): a reason you would have blurry vision. Vision problems give Sandro #1. The Mendez try to seal the deal with the steal of... alcohol. (BZZZ!) WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT THERE! 222 to the Herreras, and the champs are still alive. Other answers: dizziness, age, diabetes.

Muerte Subita: a celebration with fireworks. That's Paula. "El Dia de la Independencia." Winners, 499-78.

Dinero Rápido: Paula pulls "Buena suerte". Doesn't even wait for it. She & Cecilia get 113 for $500.

Round 1's categories are The World (blue), TV (pink), People (yellow), Music (purple), Whatever (green), and Food (orange). Because everyone was stymied by April's question, the American team earns an easy $1050. Dave gets the three first with People, Music, and Food. Lindsey gets three with The World, TV, and Music. Ingrid was just shy of the win. So far, America leads, $3000 to $2100.

Hot Pursuit... and it's all Dave, all the time. He wins, 6 to 3, but America still leads it, $4500 to $3600.
