It's a new week, and this week's theme
is...there's no theme? Wow. We have no theme, just people playing
this week. I'm not sure I can handle this. Marissa is going to
have to handle it - she's the person picked. Marissa Hill is from
Denver, and she's a dancer and professional bridesmaid. $500,000
will pay for trips to weddings and bridal dresses. Marissa trades
out her case - #20 - for case #15, because it's her birthday.
Let's start opening cases. #8 (Sheryl) - $25. #4 (Maia) - $5. #10
(Jacki) - PENNY! #12 (Victoria) - $50,000. #14 (Denice) - $50.
Very nice round for Marissa, and the Banker, who probably would
make a bad husband, gives her the first offer of the evening:
$22,000. NO DEAL! 5 more cases to open.
And open them we shall with #9 (Frank) - $500. #11 (Gerard) -
$500,000. Bye bye half million. #2 (Marvin) - $200. #13 (Rhonda) -
$250,000. Bye bye quarter million. #6 (Freddie) - $25,000. She's
going to take a hit here. Offer: $7,000. She's hesitating...a
lot...but NO DEAL!
Only 4 cases to open. Only 2 big cases left and 4 cases higher
than the offer. #17 (Erin) - $7,500. Make that 3 cases. #1
(Kimberly) - $1,000. #19 (Debbie) - $1. #21 (Mike) - $10,000. The
top 2 cases are still in play, but the safety net is in severe
jeopardy.
$10, $100, $300, $400, $2,500, $5,000, $75,000, $100,000
OFFER: $11,000. Marissa is still waffling. She reeaallllllyyyyyyy
neeeds the money.....but she's going to gamble. NO DEAL! She's not
going to be happy if she knocks the cases out. 3 cases to
open...3? This must be one of the older episodes.
#20 (Lauretta) - Marissa gave away....$100,000. Gotta go with your
gut sometimes and should have bailed out. $75,000 is all by itself
now, and if she selects that, the wedding money is all gone. #5
(Jessica) - $2,500. #3 (Kip) - $300.
$10, $100, $400, $5,000, $75,000
OFFER: $9,000. If she says No Deal, she has to open 2 more cases.
She's not putting herself through any more of that. DEAL for
$9,000. Her next 2 cases would have been #7 (Carolyn) - $200 and
#16 (Karl) - $5,000 (OFFER: $24,000) Next case...#18 (Kareem) -
$100 (OFFER: $39,000). Inside Marissa's case...$10. Good deal for
Marissa Hill, who wins $9,000 to spend on her wedding friends.
Nightcap! We start this
week off with Perry Stalin, who collects rocks with his son. He
wants to buy a big rock. A diamond would be a big rock...and a
vacation with her wife would be another nice thing to do with the
money. Perry decides to switch rocks... er... cases, and selects
#4 instead of #6. The board, after 3 rounds, looks like this:
$50, $100, $200, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $25,000, $500,000
OFFER: $19,000
Perry...decides that $19,000 is not worth gambling...Deal for
$19,000! All of the contestants...disagree. the audience is booing
Perry. He is right about one thing, though - if the $500,000 goes
away, he won't see the $19,000 again. But he wouldn't have found
it early. He gets up to an offer of $111,000 before finding it
under case #7. So despite getting out a little too early, he made
a good deal. He would have had $200, and he walks with $19,000
instead. Two good deals to start off the week. Let's see what
tomorrow brings. |

Virgen
(Marcella, James, Sonia, Jesse, Carlos)
$1370, two days |
Tripp
(Todd, Diane, Tiffany, Ryan, Chantel)
Parowan, UT |
Round 1 (7): something a man might
do to look good, but he doesn't want people to know about.
Marcella chimes in with hair dye for #1. Champs blank, so the
question goes to the Tripps. They try cosmetic surgery... Not
there! 29 to the Virgens. Other answers: toupee/"plugs",
facials/lotions, pluck his eyebrows, wear makeup, shave/body wax,
clip nose hairs.
Round 2 (6): something that starts
with the word "flash". Diane gets #2, "Flashdance". James goes one
better with flashlight. Flashbulb and flashback also there. The
Tripps try again with a flash flood... No! 89 for the Virgens.
Other answers: Flash Gordon, flash card.
Double (full board): an animal
whose kiss would be the kiss of death. Tiffany's gorilla is
trumped by Sonia's alligator, 3 to 4. Jesse gets the big one,
snake. Spider follows. The Tripps can steal with a bear. No!
Virgins take 253. Other answers: piranha, hippopotamus.
Triple (4): something you'd do if
you saw someone stealing your car. Jesse calls the police for #1.
Screaming, running after them, and getting your gun sweep to win,
538-0.
Fast Money: Carlos & Marcella
are back to try again... and this time, they get 224 in seven for
$20,000. That gives them a total of $21,370 for three. |

Cliff, Debra and Caroline are here. We
don't know anything about them, but we hope they are real
contestants and not pod people in disguise. Debra tries to prove
that by knowing a male actor: 70's star / adult / comedy / dark
hair / directed TV movies / starred in 'A New King of Family' /
doctor / hosted Saturday Night Live / set in a show in Las Vegas /
stars as Jack Turner / co-starred with Jack Pantiliano / served
under president Bartlett...TIME. Rob Lowe is the answer. She can't
get out of the box, everyone else has a combined 40 seconds worth
of penalties, and I'm not convinced they aren't all pod people.
Debra is looking for a series: drama / 1980's debut / people are
married / people have kids / about work or job / famous snowglobe
finale / Dr. Caldwell / Dr. Marc Craig / Denzel Washington
starred...St. Elsewhere? Yes it is, for 27 seconds.
Cliff gets his shot to get time with a female actor: 1990's star /
adult / drama / starred in more than 1 series / starred in a
series in the past 5 years / started as a Mermaid / played Lois
Lane / co-stars with Marcia Cross / promotes hair colored products
/ guest-starred on Frasier / was in a Michael Bolton Video / plays
a desperate divorce..Nicolette Sheridan? No...starred as a
journalist...TIME. It was Teri Hatcher, and it's Pod Person Mania.
AFTER ROUND 1:
Cliff: -0:35 Debra:-0:03 Caroline: -0:10
Caroline is going to try to keep up the non-pod person persona
with a male character: adult / 1970's debut / about work or job /
single / comedy-drama / his given name is Benjamin Franklin /
prankster / goes by a nickname / captain / hangs out with Hot Lips
Houlihan / receives letter from his father / one of M.A.S.H.'s
father...TIME. It's Hawkeye Pierce, and Caroline, in my opinion,
is a certified pod person.
Debra can put the game away (or at least get out of the negative)
with a series: Comedy / debuted in 1980's / characters are married
/ characters have children / revolves around home or family / part
of the TGIF lineup / character named Joey Gladstone...Full House?
YES! Debra has shown human-like qualities by getting out of the
box in 40 seconds.
That means to win the game, Cliff must get a female actor with
1:07 on the clock. 1990's show / adult / animated series / drama /
action series / she's been a Pussycat Doll / married Dennis Rodman
/ starred in 'Til Death / Lifeguard...Carmen Electra? Yes...but
only 22 seconds banked, which means...
FINAL:
Cliff: -0:18 Debra: 0:22 Caroline: -0:25
Debra is going for $10,000 with a female actor: 1980's star /
adult / action-adventure series / drama / published a book / queen
of the mini-series / played Vanessa Cavanaugh / co-starred with
Farrah Fawcett...Kate Jackson? No, and that's guess #1...she has
her own clothing line...Jaclyn Smith? Yes! It's good for $2,000,
and Debra will be going to the Winner's Game. Well see how she
does there tomorrow. |

Meredith doesn't know how, but she
keeps winning...
Meredith Robbins
New York City
library media specialist
$28,700, three days |
Lynn Olson
Silver Spring, MD
association vice president |
Ryan Thrasher
East Lansing, MI
musician |
Meredith starts out with $200 A
Meaty Category, chomping her way to the lead at the TV time out
with $2000 to Ryan's $600. Lynn's looking to strike.
Ryan finds the Daily Double under
$1000 the Good Book. $800 down, he bets $1000 on this: in Egypt,
this young Hebrew slave was owned by Potiphar, captain of the
royal guards. "Who is Joshua?" Nope, it was Joseph, leaving him
$1800 in the red. He's still at a loss at the half with -$1000,
and with Lynn at $200 and Meredith at $7800, he'll have to go
first in Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Name That Century.
Lynn finds the first Daily Double under $2000 Roomy Books. She
bets $300 on this: in an essay, she hoped that future women would
have an income of 500 pounds a year "and rooms of our own". "Who
is Virginia Woolf?" Should've bet more, but she has $1700. Ryan
dips back in the red when he finds the other Daily Double under
$1200 Dear John. He bets $1500 on this: in 1980 Carter passed up a
debate, so Reagan debated this third candidate instead. "Who is
John Anderson?" Correct for -$700. Ryan finally gets out of the
hole in earnest with $3300 to Lynn's $4500. On $22,200, Meredith's
practically looking at her first five-figure payday.
Final Jeopardy! in "US
Geography": of the non-state US territories, areas & districts,
the only one that is larger in area than the smallest state.
Correct response: what is Puerto Rico?
The smallest state is Rhode Island,
if that helps. Meredith almost wrote Puerto Rico... and for the
fourth day in a row, she comes out the winner despite losing the
Final, today with $20,000, giving her a four-day total of $48,700. |

Two things you might notice today...
lack of the lightframe (wha?!) and a fourth model. Handing the mic
to his Drewness is the first of our finalists in Model Search
Week, Manuela. The last time we had one of these, we ended up with
the enchanting trio of Nikki Ziering, Heather Kozar, and Claudia
Jordan. Wonder what Claudia's doing now...
Anyway, enough retrospective, let's
get to it with Michael Schneider, Elaine White, Anita Roy, Zeke
Carl, and a Mac. The price, for anyone contemplating getting the
Mac... $2739. Michael gets one and a crack at a trip to Utah
marked at $3220, a loveseat marked at $1029, and a collection of
fragrances marked at $2375. One of them, believe it or not, is
wrong. He thinks it's the trip to Utah... but it is indeed $3220.
The fragrances were $1954.
Elaine gets chairs & books worth
$866. What else can she get? What about a Chevrolet Cobalt! We
roll out the Money Game...
18 37 60
04 85 17
16 72 25
Middle number: 8. The 17... Money.
The 16... FRONT! And 04... BACK! Get El Cheapo outta here!
Zeke takes a $1799 motorscooter for
a spin up to the Shell Game. Success rewards in a trip to Fiji. He
gets chips from $100 swim goggle-camera, a $50 alarm clock, and a
$120 poker game. Only #3 is left uncovered. The ball... is in #1!
And Zeke's #1 to take his game to the Showcases.
How would you like to own an
electric guitar? Bid on it by calling 1-888-90-PRICE.
Mary Bedford goes down and up with
an $810 set of pool and beach lounges. Next is the matter of an
upright piano, which is hers if she knows whether she's Coming
($4895) or Going ($5984). She goes... and she falls on her face.
It was $4895.
Jo Hansell gets a sound system that
looks an awful lot like a washer-dryer. In any event, the prize is
$2248, and Jo can translate it to a Pontiac Vibe in Line'em Up.
The first number: 1. The last is 5. We have to work with a $587
game table, an $85 stock tracker, and a $462 gas grill. We try out
$17,565... WRONG. One right. How about $17,825? How about no. It
was $17,845. She was THAT close.
Last chance at greatness for Anita
comes with the aforementioned sound system. The price: $500. The
winner: Tony Diaz, who picks up a $500 wad for hitting it on the
nose. Let's see if he can do it again with a dining room with
dinnerware. The game: Pick-a-Pair. Ester C... $9.99. Clever
Clasp... ALSO $9.99. Everything's just coming up Tony... except
for the Showdown, which comes up Mary.
First Showcase makes the show's
principals look good with a gold & diamond ring, a DVD/HDTV combo,
and a Chevrolet Equinox. Top winner Zeke bids $28,000. Next, it's
snowing... so we offer a fireplace, a hot tub, and a Chrysler 300.
Mary bids $27,000. Actual price: $41,939, a difference of $14,939.
Zeke's Showcase is... $31,449, a winning difference of $3449! He
drives away with $43,092. Not a bad day's work.

$6500 |
Herreras trail, 99-78. Double (3):

#2, skydiving. Driving is fairly simple, but it gets Paula the #1.
Will flying steal for the champs? Nope, Mendez are up to 271.
Other answer: balancing acts/juggling.
Surprisingly enough, basejumping is
not deadly enough for the survey, but it's still illegal.
Triple (4): a reason you would have
blurry vision. Vision problems give Sandro #1. The Mendez try to
seal the deal with the steal of... alcohol. (BZZZ!) WHAT DO YOU
MEAN IT'S NOT THERE! 222 to the Herreras, and the champs are still
alive. Other answers: dizziness, age, diabetes.
Muerte Subita: a celebration with

499-78.
Dinero Rápido: Paula pulls "Buena

Ken sweeps the lower tier, then after a break, Meredith tells him
that CVS Pharmacy is providing a $1,000 gift card for him! (I'm
assuming that each teacher that plays this week will get one.)
After that, Ken continues on, and he eventually reaches this...
[$16,000] (Teenybopper TV)
The hit 2008 TV movie "Camp Rock" stars what tween-friendly
musical act?
A: Hilary Duff
B: The Jonas Brothers
C: Miley Cyrus
D: The Naked Brothers Band
Though he wishes he could ask his daughter (she's not on his PaF
list, as we find out later), Ken asks the audience. 77% are saying
B. He trusts them... and they're right!
[$25,000] (Auto Enthusiasts)
Targeted toward auto enthusiasts, the monthly magazine "Dub" takes
its name from a slang term for what part of a car?
A: Wheels
B: Dashboard
C: Fender
D: Stereo
Ken asks the expert. Nancy is thinking either B or C, but nothing
is jumping out at her. So, Ken then calls his sister-in-law, Lori,
but she doesn't answer in time. With that, Ken lets the clock run
out, and that means he leaves with $16,000! As for the answer,
it's A.
