Hobbs
(Lisa, Diana, Kendra, Jasara, Wayne); $955 |
|
Gardiner (Brooke,
Matt, Cindy, Jereme, Terri) |
Against all better logic,
it's the last new Feud of 2005. Round 1:
100 married women, something your husband in (6). Lisa
gets food, #2, but Brooke thinks that women is #1... two
short there. Lisa wins the face-off. Diana gets #4,
cars. Kendra gets #5, jewelry. Wayne has good taste in
clothes for #1. The Gardiners try to steal with
cologne... Not there, the Hobbses have 85. Other answer:
music.
Round 2: something you
might ask the person sitting behind you at a movie
theatre to stop doing (5). Diana
gets #1, talking. Kicking also makes the board. The
Gardiners try again with throwing popcorn. Got it for
86! Other answers: popping gum, laughing in ear. We have
a one point Feud going into the...
Double Round:
Hollywood's hottest couple (5). Cindy tries Tom Cruise &
Penelope Cruz... Uhh.. no. Kendra replaces
Penelope with Katie Holmes and it's #3. Jasara gets Brad
Pitt & Angelina Jolie, #1. Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore
also make the board. The Gardiners go with the
they-were-still-together-when-this-ep-taped Nick Lachey
& Jessica Simpson for 192. Other answer: Will & Jada
Pinkett-Smith.
Triple Round: a dog's
worst enemy (4).
Jasara gets number one with a cat. The mailman (people)
and other dogs overload the bank. This steal is for the
game, as the Gardiners try one more time with
fireworks... Not there! The Hobbses win, 328-192! Other
answer: fleas/ticks
Sibs Wayne and Jasara...
well, Wayne comes up with 31 for Fast Money, including
this gem for the age when you start feeling old: "53."
Together, they get 127 for $635, giving them $1590.

Rex Babiera
(learning consultant from Chicago); $32,200, two
days |
|
Tom Kavanaugh
(writer from St. Louis) |
|
Keara Depenbrock
(political consultant from Brooklyn, NY) |
It's the Brooklyn Dodger
and the St. Louis Card versus the bullish Rex today. Rex
stars with $200 National Geographic.. and immediately
fumbles, arriving at the TV time out with -$600. Keara
has $1600, while the guy named after that other guy from
"Ed" has $3000 and the lead.
Last category in play is
Better Homes & Gardens (yes, all the categories were
famous magazines), and the $800 clue is the Daily Double
this round. Keara, only trailing by $600, bets $2000.
The clue: in 1947, he retired to a Beverly Hills mansion
with longtime mistress Marion Davies. "Who is...
Randolph Hearst?" Going to the judges.... They'll take
it! William Randolph Hearst gives Keara $6400. She ends
with... $5400 to Tom's $5000. Rex... still under by six
bills, starts Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Math &
Science. Six clues in and Tom finds the first Daily
Double under $1600 Musical Instrument. Tom bets $2800 on
this: this instrument of tuned wooden bars is a Central
American xylophone that originated in Africa. "What is a
marimba?" Right on for $11,000! Meanwhile, Keara tries
to ring in twice on a question in Robert Louis
Stevenson. While it doesn't pay off (and shame on your
for thinking it will!), she does find the second Daily
Double for $1200. She bets $2000 on the 1881 tale called
"The Sea-Cook". "What is Treasure Island?" Right for
$9000! She ends with $9800 to Rex's $1400. Meanwhile,
it's Tom's game to lose with $24,200.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Soviet History": he died in Moscow
September 11, 1971 following nearly 7 years of house
arrest. Correct question: Who was Nikita Khrushchev?
Keara's right, but only
betting a third of her stash, giving her $16,799. Tom...
also right, as he wraps up the year tomorrow with
$28,000. Rex, who questioned, "Who was Sakharov?",
leaves with $33,200. |

Well, we have 2 days left in
the year 2005 for WOF...so let's find out what happened
on the Thursday edition of "Let It Snow" Week!
The $1,000 Tossup is THINGS. Mary Engman, an elementary
school counselor from Wisconsin, solved SLEDS &
TOBOGGANS for $1,000. Mike Cochran from Kansas City, MO
is engaged and a student at Penn Valley Community
College. Sarah Lillis is a stay at home mom and a
registered nurse.
The $2,000 Tossup is LIVING THINGS. Mary is two for two
with POPLAR TREES. She has $3,000 and we add a trip to
Aspen Colorado and the Gant Resort worth $5,000. She
starts this round which is ON THE MAP. She hits and
picks up the $1,000 Gift Certificate to the Company
Store. She hits Lose A Turn...over to Mike. He
misses...over to Sarah. She misses... back to Mary. She
solves JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA for $1,450. With
everything she has $5,450 in cash and prizes.
The Jackpot round is sponsored by Eggland's Best Eggs.
The category is ON THE MENU. Mike starts. He hits and
picks up the Aspen Trip. Next Spin...Lose A Turn...over
to Sarah. She hits the Jackpot Wedge...but of course
can't solve. She misses...over to Mary. She solves HOT
ARTICHOKE SPINACH DIP for $1,300. She has $6,750 and all
Mary so far.
The mystery round prize is $10,000 and the category is
EVENT...and it's a PRIZE PUZZLE. Sarah starts. She hits
the mystery wedge...will she risk almost $6,000? We know
it's BANKRUPT...and she keeps the money. And after all
that spinning...she hits Lose A Turn... over to Mary.
She misses...over to Mike. He hits Lose A Turn...back
to Sarah. She solves HAVING THE ENTIRE BEACH TO YOURSELF
for $6,450. And you can do that on your trip to Puerto
Rico! It's a trip to Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa
worth $6,470. And if you have the SPIN ID of CM13846 you
are off to Puerto Rico! She gets on the board in a big
way with $12,920 in cash and trip...she has the lead!
The $3,000 Tossup is TV TITLE. And Mike is on the board
with THE BIGGEST LOSER and he has $3,000. He starts this
round which is AROUND THE HOUSE. But we are into the
FINAL SPIN...$1,300 a letter. Mike solves NEEDLE-NOSE
PLIERS for $2,850 and he leaves with $5,850. Mary leaves
with $6,750 in cash and prizes. Sarah's one big round
gave her the win
with $12,920 in cash and trip to Puerto Rico!
But before she goes to Puerto Rico...she gets to win
another prize in the bonus round. She lands on the $.
Her category tonight is PHRASE. With the RSTLNE we have:
_ _ _ E _ E
_ _ _ N T
She chooses MCPA and we have:
_ _ _ E M E
A _ _ N T
Pat couldn't do this if she asked to GIVE ME A HINT. And
she lost a 2006 Chevy HHR. But she leaves with a total
of $12,920 in cash and a trip to Puerto Rico! |
