Hobbs
(Lisa, Diana, Kendra, Jasara, Wayne) |
|
Moore
(Nathan, Josie, Mahiri, Johnny, Deseray); $700 |
We have the Hobbs...
Where's Calvin? Okay, that sucked... Round 1:
something you would hate to have break down just before
you host a big party (6). Nathan gets #2, oven. Lisa
gets... hosed. Josie get #1, the fridge. We have 51 in
the bank, and the Hobbses try to steal with electricity.
Yes! Other answers: air conditioner, car, table with
food.
Round 2: past or present,
a famous person with the last name of "Davis" (5). Diana
gets #1, Sammy Davis, man. Kendra meant to say "Clive",
I bet. It just came out "Clyde." As for Jasara's
"Marion"... well, there's no saving that. The Moores go
with Bette Davis for the steal... up there for 41. Other
answers: Ossie Davis, Geena Davis, Jefferson Davis. Ten
point Feud going into the...
Double Round:
the biggest complaint people have about public
transportation (full board). Mahiri is right on time
with "never on time" for number one. Other complains:
the price, too crowded, and not clean. The challengers
go with "too many stops"... Count it under "Too slow" as
the Hobbses get 171. Other answers: the waiting.
Triple Round: an animal
that's really good at digging (4).
Johnny wins the faceoff with number one, dogs. That's
all they get... and it's all the Hobbs need to win. All
they need is the steal with foxes... Not there! The
Moores get 200! Other answers: mole (said!), groundhog,
squirrel.
Sudden Death: 100 men,
which actress has the most kissable lips? Wayne's in...
"Angelina Jolie." Ask Brad Pitt... Hell, ask her
brother. The Hobbses win, 327-200.
Wayne and his sister
Jasara were SO close in Fast Money, but they wind up
with $955. |

Rex Babiera
(learning consultant from Chicago); $22,900 |
|
Leslie Hickey
(education director from Cleveland, OH) |
|
Kevin Gomes
(training & education design specialist orig. from
Grand Island, NE) |
Leslie's hometown is
relevant... Just pay attention during the Double
Jeopardy! round... Meanwhile, Rex starts with $200 Get
Your Group Together. He gets his game together to lead
with $2000 at the TV time out. Leslie has $200 on the
blue side, Kevin... on the red by $200.
After a visit from NAACP
President Kweisi Mfume, we go to the last clue, Rex's
Daily Double under $1000 Get Your Group Together. He
risks the level on the third main group in Rome not
counting the Sabines and the Etruscans. "Who are the
Latins?" He's right for $6600 to Leslie's $1400.
Meanwhile, Kevin managed to climb back to zero as he
starts Double Jeopardy!...
But before we do,
remember Leslie's connection with Double Jeopardy!? That
comes in the form of category "Cleveland Rocks!" Leslie
meets it with a giggle, while Kevin starts with $400
Movie Quotes. Leslie gets the $400, misses the $1600,
and is stumped on $2000. Somewhere, a certain GSNNer is
scratching their head. Meanwhile, Rex finds the first
Daily Double under $1200 Architecture. Rex bets level
again with this: with help from feng shui, Norman Foster
reinvented the office tower with a 1980s building in
this then-colony. Rex... comes up with New Zealand,
dipping to $7000. Correct: Hong Kong. Last category is
in play as Kevin finds the second Daily Double under
$1200 American Women. He bets $2000 to catch up with the
head. The clue: Babette was the middle name of this
American woman who moved to France in 1907. Kevin...
comes up with Ann Adams. It was Alice B. Toklas, as
Kevin ends the round with $3200 (we get the beeps) to
Leslie's $4600 and Rex's $7800.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Pulitzer Prize-Winning Plays": this play
says, "Then transfer to one called Cemeteries and ride
six blocks and get off at--Elysian Fields!" Correct
question: What is "A Streetcar Named Desire"?
Kevin and Rex are right,
but Kevin stopped short of "ire", which will count as
incorrect. Rex wins another $9300, putting his total at
$32,200. |
