Behnke
(Amanda, Steve, Michelle, Rebekah, Sean); $885 |
Moore
(Nathan, Josie, Mahiri, Johnny, Deseray) |
Round 1:
something that people develop (5). Nathan fires with
film, number one. Rest of the Moores get disease and
addictions. The champs can steal with breasts. Nah, I'm
lying. They can't. The Moores get 54. Other answers:
mind/wisdom, attitudes.
Round 2: which first lady
stated "I don't think there are ANY men who are faithful
to their wives" (5)? Steve hits the top with Hillary
Clinton. They milk the joke for about yeah much before
the Moores try to steal with Jackie O. Got it for 121.
Other answers: Eleanor Roosevelt, Nancy Reagan, Laura
Bush.
Double Round:
something with the word "band" in it (full board).
Michelle gets a rubber band for #2. Rebekah gets #3,
Band-aid. That's it for them as the Moores try to steal
with wrist band. Not there, the Behnkes get 80. Number
one: bandage. Other "bands": marching band, wedding
band, bandstand.
Triple Round: name a
Peter from a children's story or rhyme (4).
Peter Pan is #1, as Rebekah wins the faceoff. Peter
Cottontail, Peter Rabbit, and... Peter Peter Pumpkin
Eater? The Moores hopes so. YES! The Moores win 388-80.

Peter Rubin
(journalist from Brooklyn); $27,400, two days |
Rex Babiera
(learning consultant from Chicago) |
Sharon Dorsey
(mail carrier from Redding, PA) |
Yesterday was not as
spectacular as Friday was. Let's hope for a rebound.
Peter starts with $200 You're Toying with Me!. At the TV
time out, it looks like Rex is toying with everyone, as
he leads $2800 to Peter and Sharon's $1400 each.
The last clue, The Early
1800s for $1000, is the Daily Double, as Rex, who
faltered while Peter rallied, bets $1200 on this: the
Earl of this began shipping some of the marble work from
the Parthenon back to England. "What is Dover?" Nope, it
was the Earl of Elgin. Rex now ties Sharon with $1000,
while Peter has $5800. Rules state that the closest to
Alex, in this case Rex, starts Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 in CEOs.
Sharon finds the first Daily Double under $1600 Musical
Theatre, risking $2000 on the inspiration from "The
String of Pearls, of the Fiend of Fleet Street". "What
is Sweeney Todd?" Right for $5000! She finds the second
under $2000 Word Lore. She goes $3400 on this: in
legend, the Golem, a sort of robot, was created in this
city where the word "robot" was later coined. "I'll say
Warsaw." Wrong answer, wrong phrasing. "What is Prague?"
Sharon has $3200. She'll end with that, while Rex shoots
into the lead at the last second with $13,000 to Peter's
$11,400. A very close game.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Inventors": in the 18th Century, he wrote
"I have only to move my eyes up or down... to see
distinctly far or near." Correct question: Who is
Benjamin Franklin (he invented bifocals)?
Peter's right, betting
$8200... Rex is right, betting more and winning with
$22,900. Peter leaves with $28,400. |
