Behnke
(Amanda, Steve, Michelle, Rebekah, Sean) |
|
Santos
(John, Nancy, Christopher, Jon, Jaime) from Houston;
$20,000 |
Rewind back to October 7,
when the Santos won their first Fast Money. They're
back, and ready to take on the challenge of the Behnkes. Round 1:
something a man owns that he might try to bet on a poker
game (6). Amanda gets #2, the car. Steve's watch is #1!
The house is also on the table, as the Santos try to
steal with boat. Not there! The Behnkes get 90. Other
answers: money, Playstation, the farm.
Round 2: a food that
doesn't go well with kissing (5). Nancy gets #2 for her
squad with onions. Chris: "You can't kiss with garlic
breath!" The kid gets #1! The Behnkes try to steal with
hot sauce... Not there, and it's a three-point Feud!
Other answers: sardines/fish, liver, peanut butter...
didn't they have a story about that?
Double Round:
a bad occupation for someone who easily gets the giggles (full board).
Christopher gets #1, psychiatrist (count it under
doctor/dentist). But they don't want any part of it.
They only add on teacher. The Santos try to steal with
comedian... Not there, the Behnkes get 170. Other
answer: mortician (said by Richard), judge, nurse,
lawyer.
Triple Round:
something chickens do (4).
Peck is three, but crow... doesn't make it. Jon wins the
showdown. Jaime lays eggs for #1. That's it for them,
though, as the Behnkes steal one more time with clucking
for the game, 320-87. Other answer: scratch.
Siblings Michelle and
Steve take on Fast Money. Michelle scores with "a soup
often served at cafeterias" (chicken noodle) and "a
former President most people would say was honest" (Abe
Lincoln) for 104. Steve gets #1s on "if you woke up
totally bald, what would you do?" (get toupee)... End
result... 177, giving them $885. |

Jeopardy! by

Peter Rubin
(journalist from Brooklyn); $21,400 |
|
Julie Reynolds
(writer from Washington, DC) |
|
Bob McDonald
(aerospace engineer from San Pero, CA) |
"American Idol's" loss is
Jeopardy!'s gain, as Peter defends for the first time.
He starts with $200 Dread Man Walking. At the break,
though, it looks like Bob is shining Peter's bald head
quite nicely with $4000 to his $2000. Julie, not too far
behind with $1200.
Julie can make a play
with the Daily Double under $600 What's Up,
Pediatrician? She bets it all. The clue: lots of parents
with feverish kids alternate ibuprofen & this, from
which Tylenol is made. "What is acetaminophen?" Right on
for the doubler, $3200. And an evil laugh to boot. She
ends with $4200 to Bob's $6200. Meanwhile, Peter isn't
too far behind with $4000, as he gets to start Double
Jeopardy!...
... with $400 in Men of
the "C". Bob finds the first Daily Double under $1600
Movie Star by Roles. Still in the lead with $6200, he
goes $2000 on this: Melvin Udall, Jimmy Hoffa, Eugene
O'Neill. "... Who is Danny Devito?" Nope. It was Jack
Nicholson, as he drops to a tie with Julie at $4200.
Back to Men of the "C", as Bob finds the second Daily
Double in only the seventh clue of the round under $800.
He bets $2000 on one of the 3 taken aboard the USS
Hornet in 1969 and put into quarantine. Think... "Who
is... Clydesdale?" Nope, it was the only moon lander to
fit this category, Collins, as he is tied once again
with Julie at $2200. The rest of the round will be a
race to the buzzer as Peter leads with $6000, Julie with
$3000, and Bob with a grand. Wagering should be very
interesting. Does Peter wish to guarantee himself a spot
in the next show, meaning that he would run the risk of
taking Julie with him? Or, as another game show once
asked, does he feel the need for greed?
Final Jeopardy!
in "Composers": he moved to Vienna in 1766; in
1768 he presented his native Italy with the first opera
staged at La Scala. Correct question: Who is Antonio
Salieri?
The best case scenario is
that Julie gets it right and bets everything while Peter
bets nothing, therefore ensuring that both players
return tomorrow... Doesn't happen, though. All three are
wrong. Peter, though, still wagers nothing and returns
tomorrow with $27,400. |
