First player, a dude by the name
of Clayton, is going to Ninth between 20th & 21st. He sweeps
the $25 tier and gets up to $200 going into the Red Light
Challenge: four of the actors who have had the honor of
playing Bond... James Bond. He gets Sean Connery, Pierce
Brosnan, and Roger Moore... but misses Timothy Dalton, George
Lazenby, David Niven, and Woody Allen. It's true... He also
thought the Pentagon was in Baltimore, MD (it was Arlington,
VA for the first strike). Clayton needs to take a shoutout on
this: the sale of what company's stock landed Martha Stewart
in a cell of her own? Kim doesn't know. "Omni Living? Omni
Technologies?" Nope, it's ImClone. Famed Yankee broadcaster
Phil Rizzuto is known for what bovine catchphrase? He times
out on "Holy cow!". He loses the money, but there's still
cupcakes in his future.
Next, we go to Columbus Circle with Kelly. That's 53.5 blocks.
That's a lot of money, potentially. But she needs to call her
sister-in-law on this for $25: What does WWJD stand for? "What
would Jesus do?" Right for $75! She needs a street shoutout on
the alma mater of Bill Clinton and Hilary Rodham. "Yale."
Correct for $100! Raised by apes, who is fictional character
Lord Greystoke known as? "Bram Stoker's..." Tarzan. Strike
one! What legendary bodybuilder claimed he could turn a
97-pound weakling into a muscleman? It's not Arnold. It was
Charles Atlas. Strike two! We make it to Columbus Circle in
one piece to win $400, but will she take the Video? Nope.
Finally, we're going to 36th
between Second and Third with the Gallaghers, Bill, Brenda,
Alex, Caroline. They sweep the $25ers and the $50ers and get
to a Red Light Challenge: name all five members of the
immediate Simpsons. Homer, Bart, Marge... I can't believe
anyone could miss Lisa and Maggie. Also a style of music, what
means "glad tiding" or "good news" in Christianity? They time
out on "gospel." They end up with $600! Will they take the
Video Bonus? That's a 10-4! The question: before the British
named the metropolis New York City, what did the Dutch call
it? "New Amsterdam!" And the Gallaghers leave with $1200! |

Hamilton
(John, Lynda, Noel, Toni, Jeff); $545 |
|
Lester
(Breanne, Jackie, Natalie, Amanda, Jaimie) |
Round 1:
something drivers spend time looking at with their eyes
when they should be on the road (6).
Accidents are good for #6, while radios get #2 for
Breanne. Jackie gets #4, cell phone. Natalie gets #5,
makeup. Amanda scores the number one with children (or
other people). The Hamiltons try to steal with other
cars. Nope, the Lesters get 72! Other answer:
billboard/sign
Round 2: real or not,
name a famous Bo (5).
Lynda gets #1, Bo Derek. Bo Jackson, Beau Bridges, and
Bo Diddley also make the board. The Lesters try "bow and
arrow". Not right as the Hamilton gets 81. Other answer:
Bo Duke.
Double Round:
what is the biggest nuisance about camping out (full
board)? Natalie gets the big one, mosquitoes. No
showers, sleeping on the ground, weather, and wild
animals also make the survey. The Hamiltons try again
with dirt. Not there, the Lesters get up to 262. Other
answer: the tent.
Triple Round:
a place where you'd see a group of cardinals (4).
A tree is good for 2, and a baseball game is good for 3.
Toni wins. A zoo and the number one of church do it for
the champs, 369-262.
John and Toni try again
for the Fast Money, but only score another $855, a
two-day total of $1400. |

Jeff Lawrence
(limousine driver from Las Vegas); $11,400 |
|
Josh Yost
(student from Manchester, KY) |
|
Lisa Loiselle
(investigator/lawyer from Toronto) |
The kids spelled them for
victory, but Jeff, Josh, and Lisa are going to spell
them for profit. That comes later. Right now, though,
the champ start with $200 Movie Newcomers. Jeff takes
the lead at the TV time out with $4000 to Lisa's $2600.
Josh has $1200.
Jeff finds the Daily
Double under $800 Peaks & Valleys. Trailing by $400, he
bets $1400 on the Limbang Valley's country. "What is
Jordan?" Brunei puts Jeff at $3000. He ends the round
with $3800 to Lisa's $5600. Meanwhile, Josh at $2600
starts out Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Geographic
Pop. Ten clues later, he finds the first Daily Double
under $1200 Educational Burgs. With $4200 and the chance
to lead, he goes $1500 on the branch campus of the
University of Florida. "What is St. Petersburg?" Right
for $5700. Lisa, with a minute to go, finds the second
Daily Double under $1200 British Poets & Poetry. Only
going $1000, she gets the poet who began his most famous
work "upon leaving Tintern, after crossing the Wye".
"Who is Alfred Lord Tennyson?" Nope. It was Wordsworth,
leaving her with $8600, still leading. That would change
as Jeff passes her with $11,800. Josh has $6900.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Annual Events": Henri Desgrande, founder
of this event, created its maillot jaune, first worn by
Eugene Christophe, riding from Grenoble. Correct
question: What is the Tour de France?
Lisa gets it right, but
holds back. Jeff gets it right and wins $14,800 for a
two-day total of $26,200. |

"Deck the Doors with
evergreens...fa la la la la, it's Christmas Week."
Timothy Hatters, Kimla Booker, Dennis Houck, and Maria
Conipe would get a chance at a treadmill, but only Maria
would get a chance at $50,000! It's Plinko Time once
again, as we get all four chips from a CD rack, a Santa
candy dish, a breakfast maker, and an electric
toothbrush. Wtih all five chips, she drops and lands of
$10,000, $500, $100, $10,000, and zero. But still,
$20,600 is a hell of a stocking stuffer.
Timothy gets art products
and a chance to win a nice present of either a dinette
set or a 2006 Pontiac G6. Or, of course, he could get
enough for a really chintzy gift card, as the Pepperdine
student plays Any Number. He ends up picking on his
final pick... a dinette set. I mean, it's a really
cool-looking dinette set. It's all retro diner with a
racing stripe and everything.
Madeline Kingston
couldn't stop herself from going on stage. That's why
she went up a round prior, but the Red Hats delegate
earns her way in earnest with a step chest. Now how
about 2 for the Price of 1? The two? A set of Faberge
Santas and a 2006 Ford Focus! The first number is either
6 or 2, the second, 9 or 5, and the third, 7 or 2. The
freebie gives us $--2. She goes for $652 for the Santas...
and she gets a lump of coal. Correct price: $692. And
that's it for her as well as she literally falls over
while Timothy gets $1000 (on skill) for a spot in the
Showcase.
Travis, why does
Claymation Probst look scary?
Kimla gets a Spaceball
trampoline set. She'll really be jumping for joy if she
wins a computer armoire, with the computer, of course.
Is it $5811 or $4977. She goes for $5811... and it's
$4977. Darn!
An ATGSer from WAY back
in the day, Paul Crabbe of San Diego finally hits the
stage with a pool table, instantly becoming one of...
THE INELIGIBLES! But let's see if he can milk THIS visit
for all it's worth with a chance at a day sailer. The
products to shoot for the Bullseye: Campbell's Cream of
Mushroom. Uncle Ben's brown rice, Westbrae Natural
organic salad beans, Baker's Joy spray, and Alberto VO5
hot oil. Paul takes six soups for $6.12. He takes five
rices for $9.95. He takes three hot oils... BULLSEYE!
They're $10.47.
Finally, Earlene Claunch
gets a charm necklace and a chance for a Chevy HHR! The
game is That's Too Much! After a couple of dry runs,
it's doable. She gets up to $18,990 before saying
"That's enough." Try again. "That's too much!" More like
it. And sure enough, $18,990 is too much for the
$16,990! Not only that, she gets $1000 in the Showdown!
So it's Earlene and Timothy in the Showcase...
The first on the Showcase
is a living room with carpeting, a DVD/CD home theatre
system, and a hot tub. Top winner Earlene passes to
Timothy, who bids $7550. Meanwhile, Shane gets Christmas
cards from Acapulco (where they say "Feliz Navidad"),
Rome (where they say "Buone Feste Natalizie"), and Tokyo
(where they say "shinnen omedeto Kurisumasu omedeto",
although the prop itself says "Merii Kurisumasu").
Earlene bids $17,500. Actual price: $14,671. She's over.
So it's all on Timothy now. Actual price: $15,839. He's
your Showcase winner with $18,313 in cash and prizes,
although the earlier Plinko win gives Maria top winner
nods with $22,848 in swag.
Next time, someone's
going to win a really big tree.
Today: 3/6, $78,096
This week: 15/24 (.625); $350,637 |

There's 3 days left before
Christmas. Will someone here be able to stuff their
stocking with a million dollars?
First up today is Cheryl Conner (Gastonia, NC), a
shopaholic. And yes, she'll do a ton of shopping if she
wins the million! Now, what does she love to buy most?
If you said shoes, you'd be right. In fact, as her
husband Joe mentions, a shopkeeper from a shoe store
once sent her a letter, thanking her for her patronage!
[I can see it now. A million dollars worth of shoes...]
Anyway, Cheryl starts by knowing that on "Star Trek,"
the command often given to Scotty was "Beam me up"
("Pull my finger" just didn't sound right, I guess). She
sweeps the lower tier, and gets through a good portion
of the middle tier, before coming up to this for
$16,000...
What retailer, which started out in 1978 selling
military-surplus clothing, is now a division of Gap
Inc.?
A: Lands' End
B: Abercrombie & Fitch
C: Eddie Bauer
D: Banana Republic
Ah, a question involving shops for a shopaholic. But
Cheryl asks the audience anyway, and 68% of the studio
audience says D, with 49% of the AIM users in agreement.
So, Cheryl trusts them... and they're right! On to
$25,000...
Before it was made from bits of paper, confetti
traditionally consisted of what?
A: Sweets
B: Beans
C: Feathers
D: Beads
The 50:50 leaves A and B. Cheryl then calls her good
friend Rick, but after saying A at first, he changes his
mind and says B. Doesn't mention how sure he is, though.
It seems to have left Cheryl confused, and in the end,
she decides to just walk. Good thing, too, because the
answer was A. But hey, she can still buy a lot of shoes
with $16,000!
Next is Wayne Smith (New Orleans, LA). He had to
evacuate his home due to Hurricane Katrina, and at the
time of this taping, he still hadn't been able to return
yet. He figures that his home is pretty much a mess, but
at least he and his wife are safe and sound, so that's
good. With that, Wayne starts with the ol' $100...
By definition, "puppy love" is a crush experienced by
whom?
A: Liberals
B: The wealthy
C: Young people
D: Snoop Dogg
Wayne knows that it's C, and he's off to a good start.
He goes on to easily secure the $1,000, and eventually,
he faces this $4,000 question...
Great Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer is the
equivalent to what U.S. cabinet position?
A: Secretary of the Treasury
B: Attorney General
C: Secretary of Defense
D: Secretary of State
Wayne wants to say A, but he's not sure enough, so he
calls his older brother Robert. But unfortunately,
Robert doesn't respond. Despite this, Wayne just goes
ahead and says A... and he's right!
That's all for today. Wayne will continue moving towards
the million bucks tomorrow. |
