Cash Cab by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time: 6p ET/5p CT on Discovery
Host: Ben Bailey
First up in Ben's Cab of the Cash is Tully going to 54th & Park. He gets his first strike when he can't name the other name for epinephrine (he said "Sudafed", correct: adrenaline). He's got $225 going into the Red Light Challenge: the five most populated Canadian provinces. Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Alberta are good for $475! He sweeps the $50 tier. He strikes on the company that makes New York's crystal ball that they'll drop in, oh, 10 days. He says "Steuben." Not it, it's Waterford. Last question... right, giving Tully $1125! Will he risk it on a Video Bonus? Nope. He's taking the money.

Ben picks up a nurse named Amy as she goes to 13th & Washington. Helllooooooo, Nurse! First strike: the major metropolitan newspaper in "Superman". The Daily Planet, it was. She has to use the street shout out on the inventor who holds 1093 patents. She goes with Alexander Graham Bell... Not right, it's Thomas Edison. She has to use a mobile shoutout to figure out who wrote "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Quoth Amy's friend Regan, Obviousy Regan thinks she's on ANOTHER New York-based game show. She hasn't a clue, as she says Hemingway... Goodbyyyyyye, Nurse! Jules Verne was the correct answer, which leaves one final question from Ben... "Why are you still sitting here?"

One more round Jack, Enos, and Karen with St. Marks as the destination. First strike: the nut that provides the flavor for amaretto. "It's not almond." Yes it is. They strike the second time when they can't remember what "acrophobia" is (fear of heights). Final question... needs a street shoutout. The question: pioneered by Walter Gropius, what German architecture movement was founded at Weimar in 1919? I'm thinking Bauhaus. The shoutout... is German. She goes with Bauhaus as well... Good for $775! But will they take the double-or-nothing bonus? They're going for it! The question: the Maori are indigenous to what island nation southeast of Australia? They go with New Zealand... Right for $1550!

Hugs! Get out. We have another show to tape somewhere...

Family Feud by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or familyfeud.com
Host: Richard Karn
Elizalde (Juan, Imelda, Monica, Rocio, Michele)
Kaufman (Kimberley, Michael, Barry, David, Dan); $21,740, three days

The Kaufmans are still looking for that second bolt of lightning in Fast Money, but they'll have to strike the tree that is Elizalde first. Round 1: something a short person might have difficulty doing with a tall person (6). Juan dances to the tune of #1. Kissing, fighting, playing basketball, and running make the survey. The champs hope that sex rounds it out. "Show me sex!" No, Richard. Bad host... You give the champs 95 right now!

Round 2: something you should never park in front of (6). A fire hydrant's worth 78. A bus stop, a red curb, an ambulatory zone, and a handicap spot also make the board. The Elizaldes try to steal with "a driveway" Got it for 94! It's a one-point Feud!

Double Round: an electronic device some people have with them at all times (full board). Monica answers the cell phone for #1. Believe it or not, laptops, Blackberries, and iPods don't make it, but pagers, Walkmans, and pacemakers do. The Kaufmans go with watch for the steal. No thtere! The Elizaldes get 262! Other answers: Palm Pilot (said!), radio.

Triple Round: something that, once you learn how to do it, you never forget (4). David's bike riding skills get top dollar, while walking and driving follow. The Elizaldes go with "eating"... Not there! Kaufmans win, 311-262! Other answer: tie shoes.

Michael and David, still smarting from the last Fast Money defeat, step to the board again. They already did better than before, as they sweep the number ones for $20,000 more, giving them $41,740!

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Laura McElfresh (librarian from Atlanta); $28,401
Rob Klepadlo (chemist orig. from Weirton, WV)
Debbie Chuba (high school guidance counselor from Johnstown, PA)

Proof that the categories on Jeopardy! are random draw: one of them is Georgia on My Mind. Laura, from the Dirty South herself, goes with that for $200. It's a closie going into the TV time out with Laura at $2400, Rob at $1800, and Debbie at $1600.

Jimmy delivers to Laura this Daily Double under $600 Bobsledding. Trailing by $400, she fronts $500. "Of the 16 bobsled tracks in the world, two are in the US; one here at Park City, and the other in this upstate New York town." "Where is Lake Placid?" Right for $3900 and the lead! It's a horse race between her $4700 and Debbie's $4800 at the half. Rob, thanks to his blundering in naming "Elbridge Gerry" as opposed to the given "Gerrymandering", has $2000 to start Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 in the Papal Chase, with Debbie finding the Daily Double under $1200. Leading by $1700, she only bets $1600 on this: in 1858, vestments were hung with great care, in hopes that the first pope of this name soon would be there. "Who is Nicholas?" Right for $7200! But Laura can catch up (and does) as she uncovers the second Daily Double under $1600 National Anthems. Leading by $5500, she bets $100. "Salut, o terre d'esperance" begins "L'Abidjanaise", the anthem of this nation. "Abidjan... oh, have no idea." It was the Ivory Coast, but she only lost to $15,000. She'll end with that, while Debbie catches up to the tune of $12,400. Rob has $10,000 less than that.

Final Jeopardy! in "American Businessmen": this man who died in 1984 remarked, "We're not in the hamburger business, we're in showbusiness". Correct question: Who was Ray A. Kroc?

Alex jumps the gun a bit... all three are right on the bun, so we go to wagering. Laura knew she needed to bet big and be right. She comes through on both fronts, adding another $24,801 to her stash, now totaling $53,202.

The Price is Right by Travis Schario, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
"Up on the rooftop, reindeer pause. Out thru the doors steps Barker Claus." Christmas week, Day 2 in 7800.

Aundrea Martin, Denise Jenkins, Sean Reiley, and Celeste Lasseter get to kick things off bidding on Coleman camping equipment. Aundrea captured it with a $751 bid (ARP: $809) and took a $7 shot at a Jeep Wrangler SE. Given the "1", she called 8 for the second, missing by 1 (9). Next call: 6. Actual number: 8. Down to $4. Third guess: 4 on a 6. Down to $2 and a clutch call of 3 for the last digit. Last digit: 4. Our first win of the day!

Next, Celeste will take a shot at the Bags after picking up a Stagg electric guitar, valued at $810. Now, to get $16,000; she has to fill bags marked 89¢, $15.99, $1.39, $5.99, and $2.19 with Tylenol Arthritis Pain, Little Debbie Honey Buns, Royal Cherry Maraschino cherries, SnoreStop, 15 pencil cap erasers, and Johnson's baby shampoo. Taking little help from the Gallery, she picked:

89¢ = Erasers
$15.99 = SnoreStop
$1.39 = Honey Buns
$5.99 = Tylenol
$2.19 = Cherries

She had the right five products, but just a hair out of order. The ONLY mistake was the SnoreStop should have been swapped with the Tylenol. She loses at the $2000 bag.

Act III brings up contestant Willard Walker, after capturing a mini DV camcorder from Sony, valued at $799. (T-MAC NOTE: This camcorder was CUTE! I'd kill to get one.) His objective: to keep Hans on the Mountain for a $3844 Ashley Santa Barbara dining room with Henn Christmas dinnerware. Missing by 9 on a $29 reindeer nutcracker and 1 on a $30 Jolly Joker device (calling $20 and $31 respectively), Hans can travel 15 steps safely. Willard called $50 on a Craftsman laser measurer, and there went Hans...past 15...past 20...PAST 22........and STOPPING ON 25!!! A heart-wrenching WIN thanks to Willard!

An uneventful Showdown took Celeste thru to the Showcases with 85¢. No ticket plug today.

James Andrews stars in the Hurry-Up act, taking control over a miniature Christmas village ($1287), then taking to the Turntable for a quick 30 seconds with a sittingprettykitty.com cat tree tower and a washer and dryer. James took only 3 seconds off the clock for the $599 cat tree tower, using only THREE BIDS (799, 699, 599). However, for the $828 washer/dryer took a little longer, but James did win it AND the $1000 in 15 seconds (18 total).

3/4. Not a bad start. Denise from the First Four picks up a Carson's of High Point wine server cart ($813) to take her place next to the candy cane Giant Price Tag to play One Away for a Pontiac Vibe (inital set: 2 8 6 2 2). Her first price of $19,531 nets her four HONKS. Her change was the 9 to a 7 for $17,531. BUT, she shoulda changed the 5 to a 7 for $19,731. 3/5. Now, we're spinning our tires in the wet winter snow.

Poor Sean has been stranded out in the cold of the Row. Bob asks him for any parting words, and he is at a loss. But, aided by Bob, he wishes his girlfriend Maryelle a Merry Christmas. Now that that's out of the way, we can give Gay Schul a shot at a trip to Switzerland after picking up Dunlop his & her golf equipment ($1434). Her game for the trip: Coming ($7416) or Going ($6147). Claiming that she has no idea whether she's coming or going due to her blonde-ness, she is Going for $6147. Unfortunately, she ain't goin' anywhere. She shoula been coming to Swiss Land.

Second Showdown, and the first spinner wins again with 85¢. Congrats, Denise. Denise also manages to get the Top Winner position by only a $3 difference over Celeste ($813-$810).

Showcase #1 gave us the trials and tribulations of Clara the Wanna-Be Angel in "It's A Wonderful Prize." The prizes concerned are a Comfort Spa-In-A-Box, a Whirlpool Gold kitchen (Range, Fridge, Dishwasher), and a Chrysler Pacifica. Denise's bid: $23,000.

Showcase #2 was for every room in the house! For the bedroom, an Antiques Roadshow Pulaski King size bed (with Dormia.com mattress). For the exercise room, a SportsArt C51R recumbent bike. For the game room, a classic Donkey Kong 3-in-1 arcade machine. For the family room, a Runco 42" plasma TV. For Celeste's bid: $12,000.

Celeste's Showcase; ARP $15,688 for a difference of $3688.
Denise's Showcase; ARP $30,011 for a difference of $7011.

Celeste takes the sleigh home a winner with $16,498.

STATS: 3/6; $47,869

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Yesterday, Julie Boyle (Las Vegas, NV) got to $8,000 with 1 lifeline left. Let's see how she does today...

Apparently, Julie feels that she has the Dalai Lama to thank for being on the show. Her friend was going to meet him, and when she was speaking to that friend on the phone, "Millionaire" was on. So she asked her friend to get a blessing for her to be on the show. The next day, she got the call, apparently 30 minutes after her friend's meeting with the Dalai Lama. Interesting. Anyway, the game resumes with this $16,000 question...

Which of these Oscar winners' parents were also both Oscar winners?
A: Anjelica Huston
B: Jane Fonda
C: Liza Minnelli
D: Sofia Coppola

Julie calls her mother Patricia, but she doesn't get a response in. At that point, Julie decides to just go for it, and she says C... and she's right! Now, for $25,000...

Which of these organizations was established in 1897 as the National Congress of Mothers?
A: PTA
B: NOW
C: Goodwill Industries
D: YWCA

Julie has no idea, and this time, she walks. It was A. Oh well; at least she has $16,000!

[That's 4 straight $16,000 winners now.]

Next up is Karen Williamsen (Snug Harbor, RI), who works at a forensics lab. It seems that she wants to be like one of those people on C.S.I., even though she hadn't even seen that show. Karen starts by knowing that "break a leg" is a traditional expression of good luck among actors (repo men would probably take that term literally). She has no problem locking in the $1,000, then faces this for $2,000...

Often found on restaurant menus, a capon is a type of what?
A: Lamb
B: Chicken
C: Cow
D: Pig

Karen decides to ask the audience. 79% of the studio audience goes with B, and so do 44% of the AIM users. She trusts them... and they're right! On to $4,000...

In 2004, what actress made the Guinness Book of World Records for the millions she was paid to do a commercial for Chanel No. 5?
A: Charlize Theron
B: Julia Roberts
C: Halle Berry
D: Nicole Kidman

Karen thinks it's not B or D, but she isn't sure what it is, so she calls her sister Kristen. Kristen says that she's sure it's D. Karen trusts her and goes with D... and it's D! Another question later, and she goes for $16,000 with this...

In the U.S., which of the following has never been the cost of a standard first-class postage stamp?
A: 25 cents
B: 29 cents
C: 32 cents
D: 35 cents

The 50:50 leaves B and D. Karen is thinking D, and after she considers her options, she goes for it... and she's right! Now, let's see if she can make it $25,000...

Script that means "God is Great" is repeated 22 times on what country's national flag?
A: Pakistan
B: The Philippines
C: Iran
D: Saudi Arabia

This time, Karen has no idea, so she walks. She didn't know that it was C, but that's okay, because she does get to take home $16,000!

[The streak is now at 5.]

Time to meet Ixo Valdes (Miami, FL). He happened to bring flowers (lilies, to be exact) to give to Meredith, which she gladly accepts. And no, it wasn't meant to be a bribe. It is then mentioned that at 19, Ixo wanted to be a disc jockey, so he moved to Miami, and now, that's his job! Now that's a nice example of following one's dream. Ixo starts his road to a possible million by knowing that the Neanderthal man is believed to have lived during the Stone Age. He then gets to $200.

That'll be all for today. Ixo will be back tomorrow to keep going.
