April Mosbrook
San Diego
Emily Reddick
Holden, MA
Ryan Ducket
orig. Houston

Hand 1: 10s all around, with Ryan getting a Queen. April keeps a 4 for 14 and passes a 3 to Ryan for 13. Emily keeps a 4 for 14. April busts out Ryan and gets a 7 to catch 21! She leads it 900 to Emily's 100. Ryan sitting on a big old gooseegg.

Hand 2: 9 for April. 5 for Emily. 10 for Ryan. April takes a deuce for 11, then catches 21 off of a Queen. April and Emily move on, while Ryan moves out.

Hand 3: April gets a bullet to Emily's 6. April gets a 2, and passes it for 8. And April catches 21 for a THIRD TIME with a King! She deserves this win.

Armed to the tooth with three power chips, can April turn 21 thrice to win $25,000?

1) J - 4 - K = BUST
2) Q - 9 - 2 = $1000
3) 8 - 8 - A
Passed: 10, J, Q

The kicker... she could've had $5000. Oh well, April does take $1000.

Jim Miracle is looking forward to pulling off a miracle of his own with case #19, but he trades it for #8 for his autistic child born on 8/18/98. Lots of eights, but the number to remember now is 5...

5 to go: 4 (Grandma Jaye): $400, 16 (Philippe): $25,000, 7 (Jimmy): $100, 20 (Devin): $500, 6 (Barry): $100.

Good round. OFFER: $16,500. NO DEAL!

5 to go: 11 (Robert): Penny case! 12 (Emmett): $5, 9 (Jessica): $300, 14 (Kat): $10, 13 (Kim Marie): $50.

Now that's a big round. We're going to see a big offer.... $28,000. NO DEAL!

4 to go: 15 (Christine): $250,000. Yeow. 3 (Mike): $25, 2 (Michelle): $75,000, 22 (Devyn): $1000.

One of the big three is out of here, but a dealer's board remains. The offer... $23,000. NO DEAL!

2 to go: 18 (Yolanda): $10,000, 19 (Taminika): ... as a reminder, this is Jim's original case. He gave away.... $200!

Left side is CLEAR! Next offer: $44,000. Half and half board... NO DEAL!

2 to go: 10 (Jennifer): $2500! 21 (Erin): $100,000.

Safety net is gone, but the BIG one is still in play. Offer: $37,000. Banker is playing hardball, but still... NO DEAL.

5 (Dorina): $50,000. Offer... $72,000. DEAL for $72,000! But what would happen if he went on? Amber had $7500. The banker would've offered: $198,000. In Jim's case.... the miracle... Half a million GONE, but Jim's no loser.

In the nightcap, Jacob "The Chicken Man" Bechtold plays case #7... and ends up plucking the big one on the first pick. Did he lay an egg by taking an offer of $26,000? Yep. He was sitting on $100,000.

Schulz (Lee, Becky, Valarie, Winnie, Daniel) Rosa (Maria, Carol, Melissa, Mike, Bobby)
$20,745, two days

First up, a big happy happy goes out to a good friend of this site and the voice of the Feud, Mr. Burton Richardson.

Round 1 (7): 100 women, an occupation whose sexy men could come rescue you any time. Fireman is the big one for Lee. Rest of the Schulzes go with lifeguard police officer, and paramedic. The Rosas try a lawyer... not there! Schulz get 88. Other answers: military, actor, nurse.

Round 2 (5): a famous woman who's always wearing pants. Becky, who was hovering at the buzzer, says Diane Keaton... That's #5, Valarie gets #1, the queen of the pantsuit, Hillary Clinton. Ellen DeGeneres also makes the survey. The Rosas will try Martha Stewart to steal... Nope. Schulz up to 165. Other answers: Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg.

Double (full board): a question guys don't like their girlfriends to ask. Still talking to the ex? Valarie gets #1. Other questions: Do you love me? Will you marry me? How much do you make? Where were you? And the always popular... Do I look fat? All of a sudden, the Schulz are one point away from total victory.

Triple (4): something you'd hate to have the hotel maid walk in on you doing. Winnie? (whispering) "Having sex." It's the top. Taking a shower, stealing stuff, and changing give them the sweep, 590-0.

Fast Money: Valarie & Daniel pass one, and score three number ones... but only manage 155 for $775.

A new champion. Will Laura add on to her total?

Laura Novak
Akron, OH
family doctor
$20,400
Daphne Mataline
New York City
magazine editor
Daniel Scott
Providence, RI
college professor

Laura will start with $200 Reds. Daphne finds the Daily Double under $800 Love Affair. She bets $1000 on this: this title medico's life is disrupted by war & his love for Lara, wife of a revolutionary; the Bolsheviks don't help, either. "Who is Dr. Zhivago?" Correct for $2400 on the break. She leads at the half with $7400 to Laura's $6000. Daniel, not too far behind with $4200, starts Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Instrumental. Daphne is behind by $200 when she finds the first Daily Double under $1600 Annual Events. She bets $3000 on this: each June 60,000 visitors are served bowls of cereal in this Michigan city's Cereal City Festival. "What is Lansing?" Nope, Battle Creek, dropping her to $7600. Laura finds the other under $1600 Tough Bodies of Water. She bets $2000 on this: major gulfs extending from this sea include the Mosquito Gulf & the Gulf of Darien. "What is the Caribbean?" That works for $14,400. But Daphne retakes the lead with $17,200. Laura's $4000 behind. Daniel has $7400.

Final Jeopardy! in "Lines from 19th Century Novels": "My two natures had memory in common, but all other faculties were most unequally shared between them." Correct response: what is Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde?

This one was too easy, as Daphne wins $26,401. Laura leaves with $22,400.
